Kick should have a high damage ratio so traiting for Physical Utilities would actually be an okay option. Double it’s base damage or something, it probably won’t be broken even then.

The IP wasn’t a giant problem until they made slick shoes into a stun break. And I guess counters like “instant cast skull crack” were also nerfed and now Engis are pretty broken be it cele or turrets.
Either delete/nerf the stun break on slick shoes OR make it so you can dodge through slick shoes. But please apply the same principles to hammer guard because frame-eaters are cancer.

Don’t play the build that Zenos is posting. Its an even worse version of Schwarheit’s awful build. I think Hambow is what you’re looking for. Does ton of damage and can CC train for days.

Seriously, how can people accept that turret engineers end up in any finals, and LOSE. Clearly the build is OP. Did you see how the game was close/!?!?! That is wrong, any game with a turret engineer should be that team getting demolished. Balance.

One of the life steals was bugged for the longest time, but was fixed recently (~1 month or so ago). Honestly I still can’t see why you’d take them over something like Pack, but to each their own I guess. The 6th bonus seems really counteproductive.

It’s not engineer that’s ruining pvp it’s the turkittens.
Big difference.Its safer to say all engineer. Turrets are ruining low-tier pvp for low tier players, frustrating for higher tier, and Celestial Rifle/Grenade engi is far too powerful in high tier (or really any tier, just turrets are quicker to be effective in lower tiers).

As if Skull Crack instant cast is cancer but not Overcharge Shot instant cast or bulls charge not getting any “buffs” while slick shoes eats through evades and is EASY TO LAND while being buffed to a 23 second stun break.
This game is about abusing cancer, and I will keep trying to prove that until ANET starts learning actual balance principles.

I don’t mind some instant casts in the game. I play with rifle engie and can kinda anticipate OS against other engies based on where they are in context to me. I don’t like how warriors are so easy to play against because they’re so telegraphable, and I don’t think making all abilities have telegraphs would make the gameplay slower and clunkier like it did with warrior. On the other hand, I do see why spamming headshot, interrupt mantra, and OS can be annoying and frustrating to others.
Thing is, that SHOULD be Warriors weakness BUT the same principles should definitely apply to other classes too.

When talking about ineffective though, say hi to 5-8 seconds of chain CC while getting DPS’d by Mace Shield + Axe Mace Warrior.
Certain builds become viable when you get mechanically intensive. The existence of those builds are something people can’t deny yet some people are using the word “ineffective” to deny the existence of certain things such as HARD and EFFECTIVE.

A safe answer would be, anything that isn’t easy and effective.
By that logic anything that isn’t a Guardian, Ranger, Turret Engi, D/D ele, shoutbow, cele engi, and many more.
Though you have to be careful when you “easy and effective” because certain specs are easy and effective in their own way. There is no specific pattern. For example, Guardian Ring and Slick Shoes being an unblockable evade frame eater AND hard CC at the same time. Ranger being the easiest dodge bait in the game while having indefinite evades. Or like D/D Ele having decent damage, stupid tankiness AND can abuse z-axis teleports being a tank with so many jail-card options. Or shoutbow being a second healing for other team mates can pretty much hard counter condi pressure (though this one is easy AND balanced, it is still a very easy build).

Mace/Shield + Axe/Mace Zerk Warrior. Why? Skull Crack actually takes skill to land specially when trying to land a 1/2 second casting time right after an evade ends. Every other Warrior build (specially with long bow) is kinda braindead compared to that.
Actually scratch that, many specs are pretty braindead compared to that. I’ll give you an example, Over-charged shot is pretty much skull crack with instant cast. And I guess Slick Shoes is like a braindead version of bulls charge.
It isn’t a bad spec because Warrior DPS cleave and down potential is not a joke and DPS Warr can delay a point pretty well, but it’s not easy mode either. Therefore it isn’t “meta” because “meta” by definition is EASY and EFFECTIVE. For example, D/D Ele, Cele Engi, shoutbow, soon to be turrets, and etc.

That said, they’re VERY OP low-tier because lower tier players get absolutely wrecked by them.
High tier, they’re still easy to play but more “balanced”, maybe even a slight bit weak due to immobility of the build.
I’m aware that easy and effective does not mean OP. It’s just that it’s a giant middle finger to certain builds it’s not even funny.

I find it funny how ppl are still saying “l2p” while they don’t get the message at all.
I’m not even talking about 1v1. I’m talking about Conquest in 2014-2015 with it’s current PvP Community. Turret Engi is overused, too easy and braindead to be succesful in Conquest.

You’re bad. You think one Turret Engi can’t rotate? You L2P. What stops a Turret Engi giving another point a crate or elixir X to bait dodges and stun breaks with the team? The incentive to take an Engi’s point with Turrets on it is unfavorable either, if the Engi sees you coming back to the point where he has turrets, then he just takes it back. If you don’t gank or plus him, he will most likely win that 1v1.

Yeah top PvPers aren’t trying to play fair and competitive, they are trying to win. If they aren’t playing turret engi it’s because they think a different setup is better, plain and simple.
Turret engi will receive a nerf eventually, but it’s not going to be because of pvp streamers. Or tournaments. I thought turret engi was banned from those tourneys anyway.
Turret Engis I don’t think are banned from ESL or big tournaments.
That’s the sad part about it. This game will always be about abusing easy and effective, it will never be about hard work if ANET devs don’t ever improve.

Thief hard counters warrior. The only problem you’re going to run into is condi teams, medi guards, cele engineers, and of course other thieves and rangers that can burst you down first. This roaming combo counters out warriors, else, mesmers, and Necros.
If you see 2+ guardians, have the ranger swap to a condition build or something. And maybe you swap to s/d. Medi guard is the real terror for a comp with zerker ranger and thief
No Thief doesn’t hard counter Warrior. Have you ever fought a shoutbow without screwing up on Thief? It’s annoying as hell. If it was a hard counter Thief would have a favorable match up with against ALL builds but it doesn’t do that well vs. shoutbow by itself. If you’re saying this from a 2v1 gank perspective, that just means Thief is good at plussing for when it counts.
You’re probably talking about a different build, but it’s not hard to kill most Thieves on that easy shoutbow build.

If 2 Turret Engis sit on one point you have an easy 5v3 on the other 2 points.
And if one Turret Engi sits on mid and one Turret Engi at home, what now? The Turret Engi at home can put another Rocket Turret to help mid if he wants to as well. You people actually think Turret Engi can’t rotate LMAO.
Don’t even get me started on how broken the trait “Experimental Turrets” is in team fights. I swear casuals just love to defend easy and effective which is a big middle finger to people who know what hard work is.

Let’s just say at least Warrior can kinda 1v1 stuff like Turret Engi (even a mediocre one is fine) if you’re good at it. But you have to reach a high skill level before you can do this to be honest.

loosing vs turret engi is the actual proof of your scrublife. like, just use a ranged weapon and kill the rocket turret first. no so hard bruh, dude has no stunbreak it’s easymode.
I’ll say Turret Engi might be better to fight than Spirit Ranger though cause at least it doesn’t spam evades on top of AI.
