I get dc’d with this problem too, sometimes I play for hours fine and sometimes I can’t get the game to run smooth… I dc all the time.

Arenanet please fix this idiotic connection issue, I don’t have this problem with other online games. I have set the ports, done everything and it is still not fixed.

Heartseeker build was terrible before the nerf and is still terrible after the nerf. People who thought that Heartseeker build was good in sPvP are clueless and bad PvP players.

I just don’t like the map, period. I detest underwater combat, so strike one. I understand WHY the sharks are there. Having control of the water makes it easy to cut across. They’re also there to defend the point while you focus on carrying cannonballs (I guesss.) and controlling the points. Unfortunately that one point usually dictates the outcome of the match, because one person can indeed hold it easily against almost the entire enemy team.

Putting more importance on the ship can easily result in people camping out on it, spamming cannons to the beach. You don’t want any one element to dominate gameplay. The trebuchets on Khyolo work because they can’t really hit anybody on the run and the points are awkward targets at such extreme ranges and high windup on the treb itself. As such it is basically only really useful targeting center, and as such becomes situational. A cannon that’s too easy to use in the center of Cap just becomes a deadly focal point with no real drawbacks.

I think it’d be interesting if some behaviors of these maps (if we MUST have them be objective-based, which I detest) had some WvW-like behaviors. For instance, a NPC you can control on the pirate ship that runs cannonballs to your own base. Or one you escort TO the ship with a limited supply of them to use there. Etc.

I really just want them to bring back arenas from GW1 and stop mucking around with this objective-based gameplay. Large numbers of people and complicated objectives do not belong in pick up games. That’s what Guild vs Guild is supposed to be. If it actually existed in a game called Guild Wars.

Anyway. The real solution is to stop making maps like these that encourage you to stray AWAY from combat and focus on making ones that draw people into it. Objectives defeat this, but they already made that mistake, so design around it, I guess. The map would work better if the sharks were a resource you gained to attack something, not a defensive measure.

I agree with the first sections point 3 and point 4. I agree with all points of the second section.

I do feel that quickness is balanced and opens up burst options that are not present in the game if there was no quickness. Without quickness condition damage would dominate everything. I also think that pets are fine as they are, maybe a little too strong but a little reduction in power would fix that without damaging the settup of pets. I disagree with the downed state bashing, the downed state is amazing. Elementalist needs improvement for sure in the downed state, but the concept is good and adds more strategy to the game.

It is balanced, you are a bad PvP player that looks at professions instead of player skills. There is a cast time, look out for it and dodge it. The problem is YOU, not the game.

So you want your main profession to keep having its ability to outnumber a target without most other professions being able to equal the number with a skill like Thieves Guild or Spirit Weapons?

I think the source is himself. Although 90% is an hyberbole if you ever join sPvP you can definately find quite a few people in every game doing exactly what he stated certainly from my experience.

Killing people is a good thing and part of the objectives. Sometimes it is better to kill people and get fast points than to get a base.

I did the same what you plan to do and that is roll a thief yourself. The only true counter against a HS focused thief is luck, as in try and roll and dodge whenever you expect him to pop HS. Anything after that is rendered ineffective against it.

It does work sometimes and when it does you can kill them as long as you cc them quickly.

Confirmed for terrible PvP player with terrible below average reflexes. Luck? You can see when Heartseeker is comig duo to the animation and dodge! IT IS THAT EASY!

I don’t need to see you play, I can judge people based on statements they make. If somebody claimed it is hard to calculate 2×4^5 I would say that they are bad at math. Same thing here, the balance is not optimal but quite decent. All professions have a viable spec or multiple viable specs. Good job Arenanet!

I have yet to come across a thief in sPvP who I would class as good, I am sure when I do, I will have a hard time on my hands and most likely lose. Until then I am going to keep going out of my way to kill heart seeker spamming thieves.

I had 3 1v1’s at the enemy Trebuchet against a HS Spamming thief and won each and every single fight, anyone who plays that spec at the moment should be embarrassed about how pathetic it is.

I’ve duo’d in WvW with a thief, we were just roaming around taking supply camps and skirmishing with the enemy. He played the class properly and we were taking on groups of 5 players plus and usually coming out on top :P He is the only player that I have seen so far who play’s the thief how it should be played and he showed me the potential in the class.

I go into sPvP however and all I see are HS spamming thieves on both sides, if they only realised that if they took the time to figure the class out and play it properly, they could potentially dominate.

Implying good Thieves would play a weak spec like Heartseeker build. I played that spec for 2-3 games pre-nerf and was disgusted with how weak it was, immediately switched back to my own spec.

People complaining about Heartseeker spec being to good are bigger noobs than Heartseeker Thieves!

You are bad, I have no trouble against Thieves as a Necromancer. Make a Thief and understand the profession, then learn to counter them instead of QQ’ing on the forums.

I main a necro in PvP i also have a Thief ,warrior ranger and a elementalist and play all of them in pvp. On my thief you cant CC or dodge me once i pop and keep popping HS you can only hope to get a lucky dodge right before i do , simple as that.

my warrior i leveled to lvl 3 and took it into pvp witouth any practise or knowledge about its skills and i ended up as top player in my first 3 matches

I think that most here that say L2P in reaction to ppl who complain about thiefs and HS or other faceroll classes like the warrior that they themselves main one of those classes.

I play a Scepter/Dagger + Scepter/Warhorn Necromancer and I dominate Heartseeker thieves. I have 2 dodges, Death Shroud, Plague and Ghost Armor, Warhorn Daze and Ghost Armor utility to avoid their damage.

Heartseeker build is one of the weaker Thief builds that noobs complain about.

On my main, Thief, I play a condition build which I like a lot.

You can pretend to dominate heartseeker builds on your necro all you like but it just wont fly. All you can do is get lucky with your dodges and CC’s (which you will not be several times in a row) because like i said ,once a thief pops and spams HS there isn’t a single thing you can do about HS.

I named 6 things I can do, yet you claim I can’t do anything? Are you brain dead or can’t you comprehend English?

Luckily, not all of us are bad PvP Players like you. Cry me a river.

Shadowstep abilities tend to bugg depending on latency, GW2 has huge latency problems and has entire error codes dedicated to it. Arenanet is doing their best to fix these problems of ability buggs, latency and disconnects.

Heated reaction? I am not shocked that to the averege person my reactions would seem “heated”. However, this is not the case. My reactions are those of a honest intellectual person, who doesn’t make up stuff and expects to get away with it, like you do. I main a necro in PvP i also have a Thief ,warrior ranger and a elementalist and play all of them in pvp. On my thief you cant CC or dodge me once i pop and keep popping HS you can only hope to get a lucky dodge right before i do , simple as that.

my warrior i leveled to lvl 3 and took it into pvp witouth any practise or knowledge about its skills and i ended up as top player in my first 3 matches

I think that most here that say L2P in reaction to ppl who complain about thiefs and HS or other faceroll classes like the warrior that they themselves main one of those classes.

I play a Scepter/Dagger + Scepter/Warhorn Necromancer and I dominate Heartseeker thieves. I have 2 dodges, Death Shroud, Plague and Ghost Armor, Warhorn Daze and Ghost Armor utility to avoid their damage.

Heartseeker build is one of the weaker Thief builds that noobs complain about.

On my main, Thief, I play a condition build which I like a lot.

Mesmers are fine, bad players are the problem.

Thief was my first profession and will always remain my main, in ever game I play I play the Thief/Rogue/Assassin first and the Black Magic profession second. That would be the Necromancer in Guild Wars 2.

I like these archetypes, I don’t care if they are OP or UP! My personal skill will compensate and make it work regardless of the profession’s power

Have you been putting points into your first trait path for physical damage? Dual daggers kill by causing massive bleeding to the enemy which is condition damage.

how so? the only skill that relies on condition damage is death blossom, heart seeker and backstab (and cnd) are all power reliant.

its a problem i think dagger needs some rework to identify itself. be condition or power based, not have skills that rely on both, it just means youll have skills that arent worth using.

I play a Necromancer and a Thief, I prefer to put Thief in my signature for it is my favourite archetype in video games. I dominate on both my Thief and my Necromancer.

What if I would have put Necromancer instead of Thief? Would my statement be more valuable and honest to you? You see, the problem with bad players is that they always put the blame with the game and the profession, while 90% of the time they are the problem.

Those who think Thieves and Mesmers are over the top have no clue what they are talking about, every profession has a good build to play and is viable. If you think a certain profession is overpowered, make that profession and play it… it takes you less than 3 minuts to complete the intro and 5 minuts to get the correct build for your oh so overpowered Thief.

At the end of the day, good players dominate, the bad players cry on the forums about other professions.
