Maybe we already are. Season 3 concludes with us waking up in an Inquest Mental Health Dissection lab.
Hardest part is not being discouraged by the current score. If you’re way ahead then it can feel pretty boring attacking nothing but NPCs. If you’re way behind, then it can feel pretty boring getting run over by 70 man blobs if you even try to take a camp. Matchups are all decided by Saturday morning and it’s hard to for me to ignore the score and motivate myself to play anyways.
At the anet hq getting her new outfit for the gemstore done.
Definitely this.
When she does come back you know she’ll have a new outfit and you know it will be available in the gem store. They only want a couple NPCs brought back at a time to have time to finish the outfits. $$$$$
For ordinary PvE, I love my Necromancer. She is nearly indestructible. They have a large health pool. Minions to distract/soak up damage. A second health bar with Shroud. Even with full Zerk gear it is very hard to die as a Necromancer.
Because of the design of the map, there isn’t really any point to anymore waypoints. Putting a waypoint in the hot springs won’t change much because there’s little reason to be there once you finished the story. The event there fails not so much because of no waypoint but because running that event for minimal gain is a waste of time compared to chest farming or berry picking.
Hot Springs are largely meaningless outside of achievements. Bitter Cold is largely meaningless outside of achievements. The Grawl area is largely meaningless outside of achievements. Most of the Svanir encampment is largely meaningless outside of achievements. Putting waypoints in largely meaningless areas will make the rare player who engages in minimal gain dynamic events (because they enjoy them?) happy but overall won’t have much of an impact.
The only worthwhile areas are the middle ice and forest, both of which require the player to run anyways because they are going chest to chest or berry to berry. I wouldn’t object to adding more waypoints, but they won’t change anything.
Pro Tip : Leave all your bags stacked until you have done everything or put them in your bank for when you have nothing else to do. That way you can salvage to your hearts content while heaving a vendor close by like in Lions Arch. There is no need to empty all your bags on the go when they stack and only take up one space.
Yeah, bags I leave unopened to save space but things like chest farming in Bitterfrost, the loot is transferred directly into my inventory forcing me to salvage and collect junk runes/sigils.
My only problem is the piles of minor sigils/runes that I get after mass salvaging. While I’m on the go, I don’t want to have to stop and find a vendor to get rid of that stuff. So each time I purge my inventory by salvaging everything, my available space gets smaller and smaller as it fills up with garbage runes/sigils.
There’s going to be 12 new Wintersday maps. 15 new Wintersday activities. 250 new Wintersday Achievements. 50 new sets of Wintersday themed Armor. And the event is going to last through the end of March! Also included is the return of SAB, Queen’s Gauntlet, living world season 1, and more!
…
I can dream right?
The only reason I wouldn’t want this is because of the potential chat spam of meaningless achievements. Look at me, I completed “Daily Big Spender”!!!!!! People already spam random items as it is. Maybe if it was limited to Say chat only it would be alright.
This seems to be a thing in every online game I’ve ever played and it only gets worse the longer the game is out because new players will feel even further “behind”. It certainly doesn’t help when vets actively encourage new players to skip content but a lot of new players will (and want to) do so anyways. I’m not sure there’s anything that can be done.
Areas like this I don’t even bother to fight in. I just run past everything (with a few timely dodges). Standing and fighting only serves as an irritation.
At first I thought it could use a couple more waypoints but I’ve changed my mind. After you finish getting achievements (which doesn’t take long because the map is so small), there’s really only 2 things left to do. Chest farming and berry picking. Both activities require you to run anyways so waypointing wouldn’t help. Set up a smart route that requires minimal overlapping and the map works quite well.
Seems like a bug to me. I ran the instance 3 times and 2 of those times it disconnected me during the ending dialog. You can still get the achievements but as far as actually completing the instance…it seems to be a matter of luck. Which is unfortunate given how tedious it is.
I don’t understand the need of creating a checkpoint system. Just make it so that using a portal within the puzzle zone automatically kills you and sends you to the start of the puzzle. This would also force Mesmers to do the puzzle as intended instead of constantly using portals to correct mistakes that other players cannot correct.
I just saw someone give him more than 1, apples kept falling from the sky and I asked how many they had, they told me 19. Now just saw another guy do it, told me he was wep swapping.
I was going to do that until I saw 25 players crowded around Hal. Several of them were sitting there for the specific purpose of “stealing” apples. This entire achievement seems designed to anger players in as many ways a possible.
Each heart only takes 2 minutes or less to complete. As long as the number of hearts remains fairly low then it isn’t too big of a deal.
The only problem I have with it is that I have to redo the hearts in order to finish my map completion because I was mapping before and after reset. Sure they are quick but I find hearts to be boring and redoing boring content is…boring.
I loved the fight. The moment I entered the instance and saw one of the achievements was basically “Don’t Die”, I knew I was in for some fun. A bit hectic solo, but very doable. I messed up and allowed one bomb to go off so I’ll have to go back in for that achievement.
The dragon was cute and I did feel there was some attachment to the commander given the vision and the fact the commander just knew her name.
^ This. This tomorrow. This next week. This next year. Always this.
It doesn’t matter how scores are calculated. Whoever has the most players wins. It’s just the way the game is designed.
No pairing for JQ? Since they are a relative ghost town outside of overnight compared to the other tier 1 and even tier 2 servers, they are going to be hurting.
Blackgate is the only NA server that should not get a link. If all T1 servers are denied links then it will end up being a runaway for BG for 2 straight months.
Yes, the game is quite beautiful. It’s hard not to press the screenshot button at least once a day.
Might just be tier related. I’ve noticed a lot of activity on the Desert Borderlands. I can’t say if it’s equal to Alpine but there’s action going on there.
Considering any character used after the failed patch became corrupted…I lost nothing. I regained the use of my main character which is far greater than anything I could have farmed/achieved in that 2 hour stretch.
If you had an extreme situation, for example you got a precursor from the mystic forge and then had that rolled back, contact our customer support team and we’ll try to help you.
I totally forged 1,000 precursors this morning while on the luckiest binge ever! Honest!
The forums might not be the best way to go about this. Only a tiny portion of the population visits the forums. Maybe hang around the bank in Lion’s Arch and count the classes that come by? Or maybe someone has some kind of raw data of class populations.
Also, Necromancer.
I never read the stickies but if that was what they were saying then they should probably be removed.
1. Ignore angry people. They aren’t worth anyone’s time in any game mode.
2. Not true at all. A commander with no followers is a dead commander.
3. Conventions? Kill red things, flip objects of the opposite color. That’s all you need to know.
4. An exaggeration.
5. This is mostly true.
6. True
7. Not sure what that is even supposed to mean.
8. That’s mostly true. Probably server dependent.
9. True
10. Not sure what this means. Nobody has to do map completion anywhere.
It would be best to handle WvW recruitment and hype in-game since few people visit the forums…but ever since the megaserver system came out all of the towns are full of random servers so long gone are the days when you could pop into Lion’s Arch and sound the alarm that your Garrison was under siege. I miss those days.
I’d like to see Ehmry Bay linked with nobody and placed in T1. Let’s see how you kittens fare fighting enemies you can’t find! #EhmryGhostNinjaForce4Evah
New Tier 1: Blackgate vs Ehmry Bay vs Darkhaven for as long as it takes.
Let Blackgate get so incredibly bored from spawn camping 24/7 that people finally transfer off and unstack that server once and for all.
All is well again in WvW. BG vs JQ vs TC duking it out in tier 1 just like old times. Fate is smiling down upon WvW!
Is WvW going to be rejuvenated? The magic 8 ball says…
shakes
“Better not tell you now”…I’ll take that as a yes!
Have you seen a apparation? If so describe it.
Have you completed the S3 Chapter 1 Living world?
Have you done events in Bloodstone Fen? If so, about how much.
Have you raided?
Yes. A smaller version of the Unbound Guardian.
Yes.
Yes, all events.
No raiding.
I’d be burned out too if I had a detailed farming routine that read like a novel. If people like to grind for gold then more power to them but if you don’t like doing something, just don’t do it. If 40g is too much to spend in WvW, do what I do and spend nothing. I don’t tag up, I eat community food, and I just wander or follow zergs.
The only “farm” I do is a daily visit to my home instance which has quite a few nodes now. So between that, 2g from dailies, and casual playing I make between 25-50g a week. A tiny fraction but it’s a lot more fun and a lot less grind.
An Asura riding a Charr is the only kind of mount this game needs.
Episode 2 is on September 25th, 2314. Spoilers: We find out Taimi is the reincarnation of Zhaitan.
Forget the hours but I’ve played since release. Zero found.
I have both kinds of tags but I never tag up. If someone is doing an event incorrectly I’ll let them know what they should be doing. If someone has a question I will answer it. If they still choose to do the event wrong then there’s nothing more I can do. I never see a need to tag up and rather just let someone else do it. I don’t want randoms joining my party/squad. I don’t want people following me around. I just want to log in, play, then log off.
The only event I ever tagged up for was Dragon’s Stand. Having to tell people what to do constantly (it was still fairly new back then) and coordinating groups of players was irritating and detracted from my playing experience (even though I was successful each time).
I never understood the concept of choosing a main. When I get a new game I play classes that I find interesting. Over time I grow fond of a particular class and end up playing that class more than others. I then label that a main. You don’t choose a main. A main chooses you.
In Guild Wars 1 my main was a Monk. But Guild Wars 2 had no Monk so I thought I would gravitate toward Guardian as it seemed like the closest fit. But it didn’t work out that way. I found the Guardian kinda dull so I made a Necromancer. It didn’t take me long to realize that Necro was the class for me. Necro has been my main ever since. Just have fun and let the game come to you.
Just about anything sound better than Dragon’s Watch. We might as well rename the guild to “Nondescript Large Reptile Exterminators”.
am I the only TC player worried that with the exodus the guilds, we are going to drop to T2 or T3?
We can’t even compete in T1 with BG and DB now. We even lost to JQ the last match up.
The goal of WvW should be to have fun. If you already can’t compete with BG and DB, then dropping to T2 to face more favorable competition would be a good thing. Tier doesn’t matter because at the end of the day it has nothing to do with skill or entertainment. High pop = win, low pop = lose. Facing servers with similar pop should be the goal.
I wouldn’t be opposed to a special subscription option as long as those players did not receive something that was otherwise unobtainable.
Only if the Complaints section has a “Complaining about Complaints” subsection.
Spec for damage, damage, and more damage.
I’d like a realism overhaul. Add a few conditions to objects like burning but take away conditions from things that don’t make sense. Why is that fire elemental taking burning damage? How do I poison the undead when they are already walking bags of rotting flesh? Isn’t that Ice Elemental already chilled? How can a non-Asura be slowed when they are already…slow?
If Anet releases shorts then the men will get regular shorts and the women will get the shortest shorts that ever shorted.
You joke, but I would be all over a Guild Wars 2 Sims. Build a house in Divinity’s Reach, invite Destiny’s Edge over, try to drown Logan in the pool. It’d be great!
Logan goes to make a salad and somehow starts a fire and burns himself alive. Serves him right for trying to eat a Sylvari.
This is the 1,562,297th thread on this topic. And I’m thankful! I wish this topic would be posted every hour until Anet finally gives us what we want. They learned how useful it was in GW1. It should have been in GW2 from the start.
A good try but one of the reasons why I never do Daily Events is because people will never follow any etiquette. That and it takes too long regardless. Gather, grab a vista, then the quickest WvW daily.
I like season 3 so far and think a lot of the content was quite creative. But it is definitely easier than season 2 in terms of mob and achievement difficulty. I got every achievement on my first attempt (attempts where I was specifically after achievements) apart from the bugged one.
I consider myself a casual player and I find that most of the content is still very casual. A lot of HoT content was nerfed to make it very easy. The new season 3 content story instances were all easy to solo and most of the achievements were soloable aside from the Justicar and Unbound Guardian bosses. Season 3 content ended up being much easier so far than season 2 content.
When Rytlock heard “Dragon’s Watch” I expected him to rip off his blindfold and walk out. But he liked it. I think he’s going soft.
