Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
Customer Service will help you via the ticket but have you tried repairing your local DAT file?
Use the following link and find the -repair command line option.
If you picked the HEAVY set, you can use it for BL Key farming (assuming you have an open character slot).
You could also open a ticket and see if Customer Service might be able to help you out with a set that you can use (but that’s their call).
Most trophy items can be sold at a vendor (click the SELL tab and then SELL JUNK button).
THEN , they will likely change it again before the next season starts, but that means it will only go down for low population servers (and likely rise for high population ones).
Another principle I have is not to spend any more $$ on the game, so sorry, that doesn’t work for me.
….Then this entire post is a joke, right? I mean, there are words for those that tell people to do something they will not do themselves….
You want to continue to play the game, but are unwilling to support it….does that just about sum up your funny little thread here?
Could be that only Exotics have the wider range of output? All my tosses have been Green and a few Rares (and not nearly as large as your sample). I’m still gearing up all my toons with Exotics, so I don’t toss them in the Flusher yet (still need Ectos).
This post is just as bad as the “precursor woe” ones…..just saying.
While that information is good to know (was unaware Wuwup choice was in all chest types), a player would need to participate in LVL 30+ fractals to obtain a 1% chance for armor and LVL 40 + for a 10% chance.
If it was possible at below LVL 20, I might consider attempting it.
I’m very unclear as to what the OP is asking for. Not real sure OP understands how the system works fully so he can ask his question properly.
I’d love to but that’s way past this old timer’s bed time…..good luck to you!
There is NOTHING a starting player needs to buy on the TP prior to reaching LVL 80. At that point, they are no longer “starting” characters. Anything they DO need to buy (salvage kits, gathering tools, armor, weapons, etc.) can be gotten from NPCs or crafted. While crafting materials have gone up in price on the TP, they still drop and are gathered the same way they did on launch day (and the NPC prices are still the same).
The change in the Trait system does present more of a challenge, but a decent build can be obtained without much effort or gold (and the rest can be obtained post-80). Also, the pre-80 areas have been toned down a bit to compensate for slower Trait / Build development.
Theory disproved.

Per above, trying to lay down AoE / Marks accurately is VERY visual (unless you are suggesting a “drop & pray” type of offense). Normal targeting is automatic and there are buttons to change targets (no need to click on them), but casting AoE spells of any kind actually requires some level of manual targeting with mouse control (and thus SEEING and POINTING where they need to go). I’m going to say this is the exact opposite of friendly for a visual challenged individual.
Ranger is not a bad choice.
PvE is lonely.
PvP is lonely.
WvW is less lonely.
And now we wait.
I’m not sure we are playing the same game…..I was rarely lonely before the Megaserver patch and have trouble finding a lonely location in the game now.
Wanting to play the game and wanting to RP are 2 different things (tho they CAN be combined).
I’ve been keeping an eye on this issue and I’ve tossed in my fair share of LVL 80 gear since the patch and have yet to see a non-LVL 80 come out. I’m sure it can happen, but I don’t think it is a common as those that originally complained about it wanted everyone to believe…..
I have another question, I mixed 3 exotic GS + 1 mystic stone and I received a scepter so this was changed too? in that case if I’m gonna mix 3 armor pieces + 1 stone I can get a weapon?
Pretty sure it has always worked that way. I know for a fact it did this before the patch.
Per above, I don’t think it is broken.
I will definitely check out Zealot gear. Thanks again!
Not easy to obtain if you have not gotten the needed recipes and sprockets in the Living Story events. An easier to obtain suggestion is Knights / Clerics / Zerker combo. Actually Celestial, is best for an Ele, but it has the same issues with recipes and time-gated ingredients as Zealot (but just so happens the current Festival allows you to obtain the recipes and raw materials…..but the Charged Crystals are still time gated to one per day).
In equipment terms, Toughness gives you some buffer from direct damage, Vitality gives you the same for Condition Damage (less about a dodge buffer). NOTHING works better than not getting hit in the first place.

Don’t see the OPs complaint as an issue (honestly, I have never had to wait for more than a few minutes for someone competent to “catch up” and complete a heart), but not being able to even see the requirements of a Heart after you have completed it does cause some issues when helping someone clear an area you have already done.
The hover over description on the map rarely gives you an idea of WHAT needs to be done for completion.
…..
Do you all seriously believe there should not be ANY “you had to be there” items?
“You had to be there”, items are fine, but nobody EVER said they would be “exclusive” and never obtainable again. THAT idea (that they are supose to be NEVER be made available again) is just not a reasonable assumption to make.
I don’t give a kitten about item prestige and item re-release as long as the effort is more or less the same as the original.
This. If it is much easier to obtain the item when re-released, there is a valid complaint to be made….not about the re-release, but about the method of acquisition.

Looks like you may have corrupted textures / models in the GW.DAT file. Do a -repair command startup.
To be fair this isn’t really something that is new with the MegaServer.
The exact same thing would have happened last time, due to overflows.
This….decrying it as a MEGASERVER error is not accurate. You would not have been able to properly identify or return to the same instance before the patch. The real issue here is that you need to remain in the zone until the rewards are give to ensure you get them.
Again, the same issue was very likely to happen pre-patch.
Find the file it downloaded and DELETE it first, then download using a different browser (per above). The installer file is in some way corrupted (or you lack the permissions to run it).
Reseat your video card.
If your processor has hyper-threading (why you see 8 cores when you have a quad core processor), you should unpark them. I doubt you see a noticeable performance gain while playing, but I did notice a marked shorter zone load times (after the first log in….that is still pretty long). Might just be my imagination.
I warn anyone against using those parking tools….everyone I tried to use had malware connected to either downloading or installing them….editing the registry is not that big a deal.
There is no malware inside this tool, please dont spread disinfo.
Didn’t say that one did have, but lots of tools like that download from sites that insert malware into the installation process….that’s what I was warning folks about. The tool itself may be fine, but where many of them reside for download is the issue.
Malware is not a virus…..it’s extra crap (toolbars, etc.) that gets installed when you download / install lots of free utilities from sites (but you are correct that coderbag.com does not have such issues).

Misunderstanding the wording of a description before buying something is nobody’s fault but yours…..
If you are unsure of what something is….check the wiki before buying.
The part the OP should rethink is where they stated “it’s an unwritten….” in the defintion of “prestige item”. You are 100% correct that it is something Anet has NEVER written down, claimed or implied in regard to LS Event items. The idea of “prestige items” is something a segment of the community has invented in their own mind….they are NOT something Anet has ever acknowledged as existing nor have they ever stated they will never be made available again. The idea that OWNING them makes you “special” within the game is a self-delusional belief.
It’s kind of sad to see the level of passion, anger and twisted logic they are seriously expressing over this issue.
It’s crazy that the OP openly acknowledges that Anet regularly re-releases items the community “self-appoints” as “exclusive” items and sees this issue as an ANet issue to solve. Newsflakittenhe items are NOT “exclusive” and were never claimed to be so or that Anet would never make them available in the game again….that (obviously incorrect) belief is something you own mind came up with…..
They are “special” items originally tied to certain time limited events…..they do not make you “special” because you were playing when they were available (tho some of them are more difficult to obtain than others).
This is player perception problem, not an, “Anet is screwing me over”, problem.
I didn’t bother reading past the first few words, am I safe in assuming special snowflake thread?
Yes….and Anet just KEEPS on making them not-so-special….since back in GW1….and the OP just doesn’t get it (but Anet needs to STOP).
(there’s a Wicked Witch of the West, “I’m melting!!!” joke here somewhere).

I wonder why tequatl wings were also left out. QQ did want.
Can’t you still get those as drops (or from some other method) during the Tequatl event that happens several times a day? Unless the original method to get the item gets removed, I doubt they will provide a MUCH easier method to obtain the item (that DOES lessen the exclusivity of the item).
I wish I had your problem. Farming Deadeye with Gambits costs a lot of tickets.
Wish I could sell you (or maybe even GIVE you) my tickets….I have no desire to play that content.
The token idea would be great….I get that actually selling them on the TP may be problematic (tho my wallet would be most appreciative), but we need a way to turn them into something useable if we don’t want to fight in the Gauntlet. Hell, I kept mine from last year hoping they would give me some more options with them in the future, but so far, no dice.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
i dont have a problem with any holiday items being re-released, or any of the home nodes (even the sprocket one) but the following are are things from living story that should remain as exclusive rewards that were re-released:
*Fervid Censer
*Mini Ellen Kiel
*Mini Evon Gnashblade
*Mini Toxic Nimross
*Fused Gauntlet Ticket
*Gas Mask Skin
*Infinite Watchknight Tonic
*Sclerite Karka Shell
*Slickpack
No where but in your mind were these items ever listed as “exclusive” to those events and ONLY available from those events for the remainder of time. You were simply mistaken as to how “special” those items were / are. You had them “exclusively” for over a year….it’s time to move on and delude yourself with some other “shiny”.
HDMI but why i should use DVI while HDMI is much better?
A common misconception….they are the same video quality (assuming the DVI is using it’s digital signals….it does have older VGA analog capabiities as well). HDMI can also carry audio, and is a more convenient plug to work with. Actually, there was an extended DVI plug that handled audio as well (but was mostly used in projectors and other AV equipment).

If you want to test it simply remove the authorized NETWORK (not device) you are currently logging into from MY ACCOUNT (top of page) > SECURITY and then log out and log back in.
If you don’t want to save your location, don’t click the REMEMBER THIS NETWORK checkbox.

You can’t salvage an Ascended, and to destroy it you have type in the name of the item (I believe)…..gonna have a hard time convincing anyone you ACCIDENTALLY typed in the items name and hit a confirm button, but good luck with that.
EDIT: If I am mistaken about the name type requirement to destory, forgive me and that should definitely be added to the game (the requirement).
I’m confused as how you can log in here if you are not getting the emails and are getting “waiting for authentication” dialog…..both this site and the game use the SAME credential verification process when you log into them.
I think the consensus (or used to be) is to buy lower level armor pieces with karma, throw 4 in the Flusher and salvage (or sell) for gold.
Karma vendor (Heart) on West end of Stormbluff Isle (Bloodtide Coast) sells gauntlets that I’m told generate profitable items (for the amount of Karma required).
Scheduled just after Snipe season…..
I certainly hope they are “working” on other things first….
GW “twitch” pokemon was never much to my liking….
Don’t mean to burst everyone’s bubble, but the “added” classes in GW1 were what caused constant skill balancing (and re-balancing) for 7 years…. From the comments I have seen, the Dev’s fully realize these were a mistake to introduce and they have certainly never mentioned any new classes for GW2 (and I doubt they ever will).
Would be HORRIBLY surprised if new classes are EVER introduced into GW2.
Well not dodging does result in dying all the time. Did it ever occur to you that those things might be related and should possibly cause you to reconsider this playstyle choice?
Seriously, if you don’t want to dodge, stick with your Warrior (that BTW, SHOULD be dodging as well).
Consider using #4 Pistol to interrupt his healing…..(don’t recall what he uses, might not be possible).
If the screen only shows a limited number of transactions (n), the same “UI manipulation” as the OP points out could continue by putting in n+1 false transactions….. If you can’t see the full list of buy / sell orders the problem isn’t really corrected.
……
+5 Holy Avenger….
Rather have the +5 Defender myself….. ;D
….. The ‘free’ 70 or so Transmutation Charges I got when the wardrobe came out went with in a few days. I am always sitting at 0-2 Transmutation Charges at a time because I have 10 characters and always change the appearance of all of them. ……
I’d say you are exactly the demographic they geared the Wardrobe System for…..exactly why would the do this and halt a new revenue stream?
On the other hand, I think characterizing Anet as NEVER trying to make their players happy is a HUGE exaggeration and would actually tend to prove it is NOT the typical F2P/Cash shop model. The Wardrobe change makes LOTS of players happy….just some of us can resist the urge to change our armor everyday on 10 characters…..

……. I’d rather a player get a precursor
easilythen spend the time getting everything else than have a player get everything else done and be stuck with no precursor for months on end.
Take out the “easily” above and I agree. Legendaries should be much rarer than they are now. In an economy with too many millionaires, way too many people will drive super-cars.
Digging thru crisper drawer……“Where did I put those Ghost Peppers….?”
“sigh” – Devs NEVER said there would be NO grind, just that there would be no REQUIRED grind. Obtaining this scepter is NOT required…..it’s a vanity item.
Yes, this is one of the “L33T” weapon forges just south of Legendary. I’m guessing the obscene cost is due to the ability to select stats at equip (like a few of the Ascended back pieces).
They changed the levels that UNLOCK the trait tiers…..30/60/80.
If your character was created BEFORE the patch, then at each tier unlock, you will have access to all the traits EXCEPT XIII (at 80)…..everyone has to unlock these (even players that were 80 at patch).
If your character is created AFTER the patch, traits will have to be unlocked AFTER the tier unlocks by performing certain tasks across Tyria. You can hover over the trait’s spyglass icon to view a description of the task and then click on the spyglass to be shown the location on the world map. OR you can purchase the traits from your profession trainer in major cities (and a few open world locations).
Top left of this page (and all GW2 official pages) is a banner of links….click the WIKI one and many questions will be answered.
There is a series of threads on the previous page (Players Helping Players forum page) that give very valuable details about the game and how to play it. Pay particular attention to the OGM….. post as it is very informative.
All of the wiki listings on Events list the NPC that imitates the event as a link and that link will tell you where they are located. If you are talking the Living Story events, try Dulfy.net for possible guide info.
All the different forums on this site have invaluable information in them (most are stickied at the top of the forum list). Many of these post threads will have tons of links to build sites and youtube videos.
Since the advent of the MegaServer system, have you just tried asking your question in MAP chat? If GW2 players are anything, they are nearly always helpful to new players.

…….What’s the alternative? No Lore, or very shallow Lore that seems to play very little part in the MMO world itself?
…..
The truthful answer is YES. While there is a solid group of hardcore RPGers out there, their numbers are tiny compared to casual gamers that purchase a product, play it for a time and move on to the next “flavor of the month” game (that can be properly “hyped up” to garner the knee-jerk purchase no matter the actual quality of the game itself). There are plenty of players out there that are absolutely turned off by having to read ANYTHING in a video game….much less page after page of lore to understand a story in any depth.
Unfortunately, that casual gamer has significant buying power and will continue to influence game development choices for any future I see. It’s a shame and gamers that tend to gravitate to well made games for a longer period of time will find their choices continuing to dwindle because of that economic fact.
Light Ascended is by FAR the most expensive simply due to the cost and quantity of Damask involved. If you look strictly at the material costs (and assume 0 cost for 500 crafting), Light is nearly 3 times more expensive than Medium and 4 times higher than Heavy. The unfairness of this disparity has been beaten to death on these forums.
This would be a lot more useful if you define “skimpy” and seperate it by armor class.
Light: Fine as is.
Medium: We need more skimpy.
Heavy: We need generally more lighter looking choices which includes skimpy.
Agree, but would add that HEAVY does not really support “skimpy” in terms of being “realistic” (to whatever degree the word applies to a fantasy MMO).
…if we can’t sell them on TP or even give them to other players, let me get SOME gold out of the several stacks of them I have…..10c per would be fine by me.
