Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
Not sure how “aware” the game can be about each individual Boss in terms of scaling or strength, but if it is possible for the game to determine those factors, maybe the announcer should suggest where help is needed (rather than make generally unhelpful “hurry up” comments).
Trust me, there are players that have never even opened a chat window, much less set it up to provide any useful information. They are totally oblivious to CHAT SCREAM!!!! (or even polite requests)….they simply do not see them.
I’ve been “selling” my skill points lately, and making a consistent 1g per SP
Plenty of other posts on here indicate you are selling 3-5 times below what you could get…..
What does the achievement have to do with this? Achievements ARE account bound.
It’s also highly likely that the Zealot recipes will return, but until then you will be at the mercy of the BLTP prices.
This doesn’t make any sense to me as the devs are supposed to be trying make the healing class useful……..
What gave you that idea….their manifesto when the game started pretty much declared Healing classes would not be needed (and I for one applaud that….not because I dislike healing classes, but I dislike being forced to NEED one).
Things like this is the reason why healing classes are in short supply and only keeps build diversity down.
Again, specialized healers are not needed by DESIGN in this game. This is evident by the lack of players complaining that Zealot armor is hard to craft. Anet should not require dedicated healers just to promote “build diversity”….. Note that there are other Healing equipment options if you just want to play that way.

It’s because the items to make bread are both purchasable. Most other items require some kind of external element, karma buy, harvesting, or loot drops.
That actually makes sense…..much to my surprise.
I don’t think it would necessarily be considered abuse, but Guild recruitment is certainly NOT the intention of the LFG tool. Now from what you are saying, Guilds are listing themselves as if looking for many, many groups while they are actually trying to recruit members? If that’s the case, then it would be abuse for spamming at the very least.
Why can’t you get the skillpoint….just kill the nearby enemies. May need some help at some of them, but the statues don’t have to inactive for you to capture the point.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Clearing zones & doing events garner the most lumps of XP (but boosters do not help this type).
If you have some XP boosters, you should go to very remote locations on remote maps and kill everything you see….even the yellow creatures as they usually give HUGE bonus XP (depends on how long they have lived).
These items are a VERY poor economic choice…..
They are obviously for large guilds to use in large scale events.
Information on them at the NPC that sells the recipe is VERY poor and potentially misleading……
Anet will NEVER tell. They don’t want gold sellers to know (and I don’t want them to either). From what I have seen, the rules vary from time to time and they may even depend on how long your character has been in the zone.
I run sword / pistol & scepter / focus on my Mesmer. I use GS when I KNOW the encounter is going to require long range extended combat (other than that it’s not very good).
Housing has been “asked” for, but I’ll be honest….I find that level of RP in an MMO, unnecessary (at least for me) and I hope the Devs put their limited resources into something that everyone can potentially benefit from (like Guild Halls or some additional LVL 80 areas).
While readable books CAN relate lore well, it is considered an “old school” (translated…“bad”) method to do so in modern gaming (not that I agree with that). I’m quite aware of how EQ2 and WoW did the things you “like” and if you think they did those better than Skyrim…..not sure my opinions on these things will mesh with yours….at ALL.
As a Mes that rarely uses portals (I simply do not think about much…..not intentional) I do occasionally drop one when I see others nearby doing the JP (but then again, I don’t do JPs on my Mes that often). I was doing the JP anyway and just trying to be helpful….I don’t expect anything (but a “TY” in chat is nice).
Just to chime in…WHY do you want a Legendray so bad at this point? You can distrust Anet, but one thing I feel confident about is they ARE going to allow some sort of precursor crafting AND introduce some new Legendary Weapons (and I feel it will be relatively soon). My 2 coppers is that you play PvP (that you appear to enjoy) and make some coin on the side in other ways (if you are burnt out on Dungeons). There are plenty of other ways to make some gold (some better than others), but I would NOT go and flush your savings down the Mystic Toilet…..
Also, do you actually have all the other materials for crafting the Legendary? There is some significant work and gold required there as well.
GW2 does not have 2nd classes like GW1 did.
…….
-Doesn’t have to dodge much
-Can stand up to some damage from mistakes…..
These two requirements are (unfortunately) not possible (unless you never leave low to mid level open world zones). There is no “Tank” and no amount of damage mitigation skills (sans dodging and actively avoiding attacks) are going to allow you to survive extended combat engagements.
That being said, a Warrior is likely the most forgiving class and the Ranger is the best at simply avoiding melee combat (as long as your pet is alive). Dodging is still a VERY important part of combat in this game. Not learning (or being able) to do it properly will result in very frustrating situations throughout the game.
Other than stating the obvious (that not all games are going to “click” with all players), I guess I can only answer for me. No. I do not have the same problem you do with this game.
I think a large part of being “INTERESTED in the rest of the game”, may be related to having played GW1 for 7 years. If you did not, the lore might not be a “hook” for you.
The few things you mention that you like (readable books & housing) are NOT something MMOs do very well (or at all)….I don’t see Skyrim being made in to an MMO (tried ESO….talk about “meh”), and that sounds like what you are wanting….good luck to you in that search.
You need to define “Guild Transfer”, as your question is not clear.
Dear ANet,
Buff everything I do, nerf everything they do.
Things I don’t care about can remain untouched.
My exact thoughts on a translation of the OP…..
Folks, if your REAL problem is, “THIS is not fun for ME anymore.”, there is a simple and obvious solution….don’t DO THIS anymore. The game is NOT going to be changed to add FUN for YOU. Either find something in the game that is FUN for you, or move on….very simple.
NOTE: Rewards != FUN

I have all of them and they are ALL visible when I view the NPC vendor list (but the cost is grayed out so I can’t buy them). Have you tired viewing them with another character?
Beyond that, I’d submit a ticket to Support.
Gas Mask. Because it is a permanent armor skin with a niche use that cannot be fulfilled by any other armor.
Dude, it’s a head piece which makes you look like one baddass SPACE MARINE. How could you not like it!?
^ THIS ^
A skin you can use on all characters or a few temp use and silly items? No contest.
The cooldown of the WatchKnight tonic is horrible. But the effect is cool. They need to fix it.
They don’t usually fix things that are working as intended….they seriously don’t want EVERYONE running around 24/7 in a sexy robot skin…..thus the cooldown.
(Dulfy.net has a video that shows just how easy this Master Crystal is).
Also, I have spent very little on “fall” WP fees (fell a few times and landed where nobody could reach me to rez)….just be patient and wait 30 seconds or so and someone will come along and rez you.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Opening tickets over and over after they stated, “Please wait and we will get to it”, is just slowing the entire process down for everyone. Certainly posting here is a waste of bandwidth as we are NOT support.
Reply to the original ticket, don’t open a new one.
Nothing ANet can do will help against phishing.
Thought this was fitting when I saw it last Monday.
A quote from a previous boss I had….., “You can’t fix stupid”.
Open a ticket with Support, but don’t hold your breath (very unlikely they will do anything as YOU deleted it).
You are asking a Company to not advertise their main source of income…..good luck with that….
Whenever they release new RNG skins, the key farming cranks up…
I think it is (was) just a gold sink without a real reason to exist.
My bad….misunderstood the OP.
Aren’t the Fortune TOKENS replacing the SCRAPS this year?
Once a day, any character, any home instance.

Ok, looking closer at your images, I take back my original claim of hardware failure (tho it still could be a related as what you are seeing is some aspect of the games particle effect gone bad).
Updates do have a tendency to possibly alter settings (tho they shouldn’t) so maybe it’s a combination of the above 2 and repairing the DAT file will clear it up?
Yep, must be Anet’s fault because some Verizon Support guy told you so…..
If it is a Verizon problem, then how come I don’t have a problem downloading and patching several other games…. ???
Because they don’t use the same download sever that YOUR ISP network DNS cannot properly connect you to? I have no ideas of the details, but others with similar issues report that it ONLY seems to happen during evening hours…what ISPs would consider “peak” times. That points DIRECTLY to the ISP scheduling some sort of PEAK hour tier of service (likely data throttling), that is changing their routing configuration in some way so that the Anet download servers are not being allowed to provide you the needed files to get the update (keep in mind, I don’t think that is intentional, just something setup incorrectly that they need to fix). From the information I have seen, it appears to be a failure in DNS back from the ANet servers to the ISP customers (and again, only during evening hours for some customers).
Also, there is a workaround for this issue if you would just look on the forums for it. If you point your DNS to Googles DNS server all works fine (which PROVES its a Verizon network issue).
If it were an issue with the ANet download servers NOBODY would be able to get the updates, not just THAT particular ISPs customers. I get your frustrated with the issue and tired of finger pointing, but this is being caused by the company you PAY to provide you internet service, not Anet.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Your analysis is not wrong (GW2 seriously hogs some CPU resources….or rather it’s use of DirectX 9c does), but your system is failing because it is not properly cooled….
Any chance it’s in a safe bag?
Those weapons are already equipped. Switching to underwater weapons is no different than doing your weapon swap on land, you aren’t unequipping anything.
Technically, I would say going from land to underwater is a FULL change of your weapon sets so BOTH weapons are in fact CHANGED (thus the stacks are lost).
Bottom line is that this is happening for EVERYONE so nobody is getting an advantage. (I don’t believe it’s a bug….I think they ninja-fixed it).
The patch is not the problem (but requiring the game to patch DOES cause the problem route to fail). Anet is not going to stop patching their game because an internet provider can’t set up DNS routing properly (at least I’ve heard it only fails during their “peak hours” when they likelly turn on some form of data throttling).

Those are bad memory locations on your graphics card. Either overheating or going defective.
Nothing in Anet’s code can cause what you are seeing there….it’s a hardware failure issue in your system.
As I said, the fact that you issue a ticket to Support takes resources….enough tickets about the same issue might result in some actions beyond the “can’t help you”, responses to tickets….again, just mentioning the possibility.
I certainly think this would not be unheard of in many guild situations (where SOME sort of repercussion could be use to “encourage” prompt repayment….). Personally, I would never use this with someone I did not know in RL (and knew where they lived), but I’ve lived long enough to be jaded and cynical….do what you please.
You need to have them in your inventory (in a non-safe bag) and go the BL weapon trader (same place you turn in the full tickets). On one of the tabs there is a selection to get a ticket for 10 scraps.
The game does NOT allow it any special characters at all when you create a character so I have no idea how it could have been named | (pipe symbol).
I do recall seeing a similar claim to this in the past (not with that particular name) and I think it was resolved by opening a ticket with Support (I have no idea HOW it was actually technically resolved by Support).
One day people will realize how easy is to get them in fractals <.<
Who would want a timegated expensive celestial when you can have free wupwup?I suggest to buy only the inscription recipe.
I fully realize they are available there, I just don’t enjoy Fractals….at all.
No reward justifies forcing yourself to play content you do not enjoy.
If you are able to tie your own shoes, you’re probably better off playing ele.
just my 2 cents, i may be a cynic
The warrior hate just seems to drip off both of your guys, posts….I’ve never understood the need to disparage another class when the issue is with PLAYERS not the class itself.
Nevermind….pick what you want OP. I was just trying to balance out that there is much more to this decision than just hard vs easy, but obviously you have to be an drooling, moron to play a warrior and playing an Ele makes you a mental giant that should toss sideways insults at the lowlier classes….
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
I’m guessing conditions were giving you problems? To go up against conditions, you need plenty of condition removal and possibly a boost in HP (more Vitality). If you can forgo the FULL ZERK for a bit, retrait to warhorn (Quick Breathing….4 in tactics) and warhorn blasts remove / convert conditions. That helps a lot (and gives you an almost constant 33% speed boost solo).
Mobs gain bonus exp if they are not killed for a period of time. Yellow mobs, since they don’t attack players, are more likely to be left alone and to have this bonus exp.
Also, the bonus goes up the longer they survive without being killed, so travel the edges of the maps or very remote locations for ones that players would not have even seen since the last update (with MS system, it’s likely the map has not re-spawned since then).
You can rack up some SERIOUS XP by doing this (unfortunately your booster does not work on the bonus XP).
That OMG thread is awesome…..been playing this game since beta and I learned quite a few things from it. Very valuable information for any player.
I’ve seen other posts that indicated Support was able to provide assistance to resolve the issue of transmuted Legendary, but not sure about a precursor….good luck.
Here’s the odd thing. Tuesday night I tried to get on and got the 0.0 KB/s problem. Wednesday I was off work and had no problem logging on and playing 2 hours a piece in the morning and then the afternoon, but had the 0.0 KB/s that night. Today (Thursday), logged on at 8 am EST to see if it worked and I had no problem getting on and then I tried again at 6 pm EST and no problem. Just now I tried to log on at 7:30 pm EST and back to the 0.0 KB/s. What does this mean? I have no idea, but if it is a Verizon Fios problem it seems to only be in the evening.
To be honest, that DIRECTLY implies some sort of scheduled changes in their network routing (usually due to some sort of planned bandwidth throttling, but that’s just a guess). I think if you report that information to your provider and ASK directly if throttling is being performed (and if that is ALLOWED per your paid plan), you may get more response than just saying, “it’s not working”. By response, I mean the problem may magically disappear for your connection (as they DO NOT want the term “throttling” to be whispered near their services….).
EXACTLY! I have no other issues with ANY other games. Arenanet, you are dropping the ball here.
So Verizon told you the problem was with someone else? Go figure…..
And yet other provider networks do not have any issues with Anet servers….and if Verizon users change their DNS service (or HOST file) it also works…..hmmm.
Yep, must be Anet’s fault because some Verizon Support guy told you so…..
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
What problem is that (I’m part of EVERYONE and dont’ see any issues….).
Your assumption that EVERYONE is having some sort of problem is part of the problem.
If you are discussing the update issue via Verizon/FIOS, I’m not sure what you expect Anet to do about a Internet Provider not allowing file downloads to go thru to their customers….. If any other of Anet’s customers were having the issues, your comments would not be out of place, but other are NOT having any issues….kind of puts the spotlight on ONE culprit.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Nobody is replying because your description of a SINGLE item not changing in price does not fully explain the issue to anyone (it is unclear what your problem is).
The TP display comes from a separate server than the game itself and if it is loading when you open the BLTP window, you are getting the most up to date information available to everyone. (Yes, it can lag to some extent, but the lag is possibly minutes, not days).
If you look at all Superior Sigils…..do you see their prices change? If so, there is no technical problem with the TP display.
EDIT: I just checked the Phoenix Skins out on the TP and there are quite a few that are set at 250g…..but only ONE is listed available. Not sure how you expect those items to EVER change in price if only ONE person has listed them for sale……
This is not a technical issue, but a lack of understanding on how the TP works for items with very limited supply…..
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
One of the few new things this patch I like are this event and the gathering the charged crystals. Zephyr Sanctum is gorgeous and fun as usual….unlike the mockery of the Crown Pavillion.
If you mean it’s mocking the mob mentality of standard ZERG-play, then I applaud the attempt at humor.
