Ok…one more click. Still, I think this is the LEAST of the issues those that are upset about the Outfit changes in the Wardrobe system….
You mean exactly like what happens now….
So, they’re kitten ed if they do. kitten ed if they don’t. Anet may as well throw in the towel then.
There’s an old saying about trying to please everyone and time….. how does it go?
There is nothing wrong with attempting changes to improve the game, but the facts about human nature the “path of least resistance” will not change either in this game or RL. What we are now talking about has nothing to do with Death Penalty, but the fact that the game does not do a very good job at teaching player HOW to properly play the game. Some classes reinforce bad habits (I’m looking at you Ranger….yes, I play one).
Generic positive reinforcement is only effective in smaller scale and rather closely supervised environments. The path of least resistance to increased rewards will always result in abuse of the system. Why do you think Electric fences and shock collars exist?
While it’s a nice idea, it won’t work. The smarter players will quickly figure out how to abuse the system, post it on forums like these and everyone will be earning the better rewards without learning to play better in a matter of days.

I keep hoping they’ll fix it. At the very least re-add the keyboard shortcut so you don’t have to go through a bunch of menus every time you want to switch between your armor and an outfit.
THAT was your complaint about the change? Really?
One button and a checkbox is NOT that what I consider a bunch, but whatever….
I’m not apposed to them somehow lowering the transmutation costs for sub-LVL 80 gear, but with the current system, I’m not sure how they could do it (short of FREE).
Maybe a transmutation charge for less than 80 Chest and Leg armor and Free for the other 4 pieces?
To be honest, this only effects me if I want to change my key farming gear as I have no lower than 80 characters left.
I’m surprised there has never been a “What does Anet do with all the TP fee gold?” thread….the level of thought the general player base exhibits is astounding at times.
that would be cool, however thief has no access to burning so i’m not sure where you’re coming from with that part of the post.
I use legendary daggers incinerators, everything I kill burns, that’s my access…
No….the daggers fool you into thinking you are burning them….no burning is ever applied. (sorry if i ruined the illusion for you).
Most of them do kind of resemble what you would get letting a 3rd grade class play around with a 3D modeling program for an afternoon. No offense to whoever actualy designed them….. (who am I kidding)
So, you gave us the option to buy the Bone pick again, but only for 7 days???
I’m am sorry if I sound a bit sarcastic here, but not everyone has immediate access to either gold-for-gems, or real world money during that seven days. Some people get paid bi-weekly, or even monthly, or just simply cannot afford to drop some cash during that 7 day period. It’s things like this that make players angry and disenfranchised with the game.
If $12.50 USD is breaking your weekly budget, you have bigger problems than a convenience item in a computer game.
I doubt there is anyway to reach the LVL 10 story and be less than LVL 4.
Sorry, but this has been tested to DEATH and shortest run is WARRIOR or GUARDIAN w/ Human / Common story. Secret to cutting down time is having the Heroic Edition so you have a the Bank Golem and the Starter Armor it gives you. No way a Ranger can do it sooner as you have no speed boost. Guardian has Staff #3 and Warrior has Warhorn #4.
You can not play with friends on servers in a different region than your own. You must both be on NA servers or EU servers.
not an excuse, i should be able to play with my friends reguarless of thier home server choice.
at the very least they should allow you to guest on servers in diffrent region, maybe that will fix it.
Nobody is making an excuse. We are telling you how the game works.
NA and EU servers are run from separate log in servers and thus are not technically capable of connecting to each other. Period. Over and out. i.e. Not going to happen.
Your only option here is for you or your friend to change servers (you CAN change to a server in NA or EU).
In terms of technology, I’m sure it is possible to do what you are asking, but I’m sure Anet realized the potential lag issues that could exist….just ask Pacific Rim players that have to connect to either EU or NA servers to play…they pretty much have perm-skill lag. Geographic location on the planet DOES effect the data path latency on the internet.

Superior Strength. Might trumps all these days.

I sure hope the Devs allocate resources to something that actually matters before even considering this request. Sorry, but that is my honest opinion of this issue.
RAIDING is not a GW2 “thing”…..why try to make this game like another game?….go play that other game.

Downloading the DAT file has NOTHING to do with your graphics card….however trying to do this with a graphics card that old….you’re on your own.
I don’t think anyone has made a MB with an AGP slot in nearly a decade…..good luck.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Either your GW2.DAT file is corrupt and you need to start the game with -repair option (search wiki for “command line arguments”) OR you are having some issues with user permissions when running the game. Either log in as an administrator or right click the GW2 icon and select “run as administrator”. Note you will need administrator log in credentials for this.
MY ACCOUNT > SECURITY should provide you with mobile authentication status, a list of current connections to the game and this site as well as a list of Authorized Networks with a REMOVE button next to each. You click the REMOVE button next to your present IP connection (so the next log in will NOT be an Authorized Network). You can then TEST the authentication by trying to log in to either this site or the game (note that you must first log out).
When the dialog to enter the authentication code comes up, there will be a REMEMBER THIS NETWORK checkbox next to the connect button. If you check it, the authentication will NOT be required again when logging from that IP address (and the IP range will be added to the AUTHORIZED NETWORK list again).
If players ultimately buy the chest for the ticket then they’re dumb. That’s like buying a shipping container of cereal because there’s a chance of winning a new car.
…..
That’s a rather bad analogy as I HAVE gotten a ticket out of BL Chests, but I doubt anyone has ever found a car at the bottom of a shipping container full of cereal….tho I guess that IS also possible.
Your other statement is correct, however. Unfortunately, since BL Chests are the only player “selectable” source of the BL tickets (or scraps), they ARE viewed that way by nearly all players.
I will say that the new method to combine boosters is a nice change and makes every box at least somewhat useful. The reduction of those silly tonics is a welcome change as well.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Yes, it is very silly and poorly designed. :\
I think it’s designed just like they wanted. Let stupid people gold sink more than they would if they made it idiot proof (so you couldn’t sell at all if the actual profit is less than vendor price). The entire transaction fee reason is simply to remove gold from the system…something needed in an MMO economy.
The up front listing fee (per above) is to prevent the TP from being an infinite storage locker.
You should blame the writers of the guides for suggesting the use of event specific items / materials in their guides. I’m guessing if those items are in there, the guide is pretty dated.
My only complaint is that I wish that crafting the Ascended components (e.g. Deldrimor Sword Hilt, Ascended Insignia) gave XP from 475 onwards.
Yes, that would help with getting those last 25 levels.
Wow. You actually expect Anet to stick to some kind of guiding principles, or concepts?
I can tell you weren’t here for the pre-release marketing hype. You would have heard some really good ones back then. There were concepts like “horizontal progress” and statements like “Anet doesn’t make grindy games”.
Why, I could just slap my knee over how well we all got taken in by those things.
And I could just groan for hours about the exaggerations and twisted viewpoints some players have to make up Anet-hate posts…..
I’m sure they will fix it, but since the change will likely be retroactive (they changed all other Ascended gear to Account bound with a patch), I doubt it’s an immediate priority for anyone.
Per above, right click & Delete or leave in storage. Only options.
Hard mode dungeons would probably be easier to implement, and more fun. No wps, no repairing, no leash mechanic on mobs. 3x the gold and tokens on completion. Boom!
And everyone that doesn’t do Dungeons (about 75% of the game population) gets left out of the new content? I certainly agree it would be easier to put in place (mostly due to a smaller volume of work), but it is not inclusive of the player base.
my thought was; once level 80 you can opt somewhere to open Hard Mode. It does nothing for your surroundings, but rather gives you a debuff:
- Endurance halves recovery speed
- Crit chance is reduced by 33%
- Health and healing is reduced by 33%
- You are more susceptible to conditions
- You have an increased aggro (enemies from a greater distance will more likely target you)pros:
- gold drop is increased by 5% up to 50copper per drop
- magic find is boosted by 25%
- Exp is increased by 10%
Sorry, but debuffing all LVL 80s to make the game harder is a terrible idea and completely counter to the concept of developing a more powerful character (sorry, but this is the reason most people play the game to start with). I get that the results may be similar, but the execution is NOT engaging for (most) players.
Sweet!

This is another case of the player doesn’t read the fine print.
This. SoL OP.
Wish you could donate Gauntlet Tickets……they just keep stacking up….
Well ping is related to your connection, but not an indication of a good connection. A TRACERT gives a better indication but only in one direction. Most players that state their TRACERT is fine do not understand that the issue could be on the return from ANet servers to their PC (that you cannot check from your PC).
I suspect a lot of these connection issue are due to player ISPs that are throttling bandwidth somewhere in the route and I’m guessing they do it more often during peak (evening) consumer hours.
This kind of operation is due to network / internet lag, not any game update changes.
Hope this helps.
I suggest looking into potentially un-parking your CPU cores.

Nobody here can help you with this claim…..Customer Service (and your support ticket) are the answer to your question.
Gaile,
Unless the policy has changed recently, I have to take exception to your comment about taking “lots of means of identifying the person”. Currently (as far as I know), if an email comes into Support from a valid email address that says, “Forgot my password.”, Support initiates a password change with NO information requested.
Correct me if I am wrong, but THAT (I believe) is the source of 90% of hacked accounts right now. A simple policy change could prevent ALL of those account hacks (even tho, it is NOT Anet’s fault to hacks are happening). Simply pointing all password change emails to the link to submit a ticket via the website (where validating information MUST be put in to submit a ticket) would close this (in my opinion) loophole in the system.
Not trying to be combative or contradictory, but just trying to point out that despite what you claim, more COULD be done to prevent MANY of these hacks. I get this would end up being more work on players and Support for legit password changes, but it would HAVE to cut down on Support being required to fix a multitude of hacks that would not happen in the first place.
Again, just my 2 cents.
If you want to test the authenticator (to be sure):
NOTE: If you want it to ALWAYS ask you for the code (to be sure it’s working), just do not check the “remember this network” box.
So it has not changed? People buy keys for one reason and that reason hasn’t been improved in a significant way. All the manage to do is give people false hope by giving out scraps but it still takes a very long time.
It’s only “false” if you are absolutely unable to obtain it. I can guarantee you from experience that BL chests CAN give full tickets….I’ve gotten a few.
The real issue here is that some players cannot realize the BL chests are NOT game rewards but a lottery ticket that must be unlocked (gambling). Anet is not hiding that fact…..some players are just not too bright (or have more RL $ than sense).
You need to enter the map to see now. I’ve been traveling to Orr a lot lately and 90% of the times Temples are open. It’s much harder now to take part in the events to open them as they hardly ever close.
Would you rather sell 1,000 widgets at $1 each or 200 widgets at $6 each?
You should know better than to ask logical questions of illogical posters…..
As stated previously, the assumption anything needs to be changed here is likely not factual. Anet would be the first to change this formula if they were unsatisfied with BL key sales. There have been minor changes, but only they know the effects they have had on sales and I doubt they are going to share that info with players.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
You do realize that there are other types of T1 mats and not just T1 fine mats yes?
Amazing how some players can never see the forest for the trees…..
If you are promoting unrefined you WILL likely loose money. To promote refined, you don’t buy raw…..silly goose!
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
I spent about 1 mil Karma to unlock skins when the Wardrobe system dropped. Now down to about 300K. Still considering a Temple set for WvW alt armor.
I don’t think the Devs loath turning karma into gold any longer. I do think they felt that players farming karma and getting filthy rich (like several hundred gold) in the first weeks of the games release needed to be stomped on.
But less and less people will want to buy them because they already got the achievement ;D
…..or don’t care about collecting digital teddy bears…..
Thank you for your input.
Anybody with some usable piece of advice or in a similar situation as I am?
His advice was quite honest. There is no easy way to make money on the TP. You can work hard or get lucky a few times, but there is no consistent way without putting in some effort.
people buy the picks with effects for its aesthetics, not for economical reason…
if you love the effects, it’s always worth it… otherwise you’re just wasting your gems
Not everyone…..I don’t give a fig about the effects. I wish they sold a cheaper one with no effects….I’d buy them for all my characters. I buy them so I don’t have to think about gathering tools….period.
Very few final crafting items will ever make you money.
Now intermediate ingredients (inscriptions, insignias, parts) and raw materials have much better potential.
So I list the item for 49.50s, but oh no, I made a mistake, instead I listed it for 9.50s and it automatically gets sold at that price.
Is that not a genuine mistake?
That’s a rather stupid mistake as the interface asks you to confirm the value before submitting it…. If you blindly click thru the safeguards they already have in place then you hardly have anyone to blame but yourself.
You win or you die….right?
Next week will prove that wrong….sort of…..
None of the Ascended materials (or items) are ever discovered. You “know” the material refinement recipes (must be high enough level to access them) and you buy the item recipes from the crafting vendor.
OP is obviously new to crafting and was not aware what recipes really were…..or on some serious medication….
It may be an oversight, but in no way “ridiculous”. They only made this change a month or so ago. Put in an in-game bug report and wait for them to fix it (I agree it should be account bound if it’s ascended gear).
It should be noted that connecting from China to the EU servers may be less than optimal, lag-wise. Might not be a big issue with MegaServer in open world, but WvW and PvP might be a huge issue.
Agree….Bloodlust Sigil does make a big difference once you get some stacks built up.
