Never heard of the item being changed or not infused properly
My understanding of the major controversy is that these are the only Ascended items in the game that are still Soulbound on User (rather than always Account Bound). This appears (IMO) to be a bug and I can’t see this not being fixed at some point as it is obviously possible to do (since all previous Ascended items were updated like this with the Wardrobe patch).
Again, I have no idea nor see any mention on the Wiki of the “horror stories” you claim to have heard (that does not mean they are not possible….I’ve never had an Ascended backpiece).
You can wait for a sale on Amazon or some other site. I’ve gotten the entire GW1 series for less than $20 before (but you only need one of the games and EotN).
You can copy the GW2.DAT file (but be aware it is a single file that is too large for most FAT32 devices like USB drives).
Once you get the GW2.DAT copied, you can start the new install from the MY ACCOUNT link on this site and then close the client when it starts the huge download. Then copy the DAT file over to the new install (overwrite the file that started to be downloaded) and then start the client again and it will go thru a (relatively) short repair process to verify and sync up the copied file.
I checked and I have the Helm and the Boots.
I am planning to rush a Medium armor character up to the PS mission to get the coat as I absolutely LOVE that piece. Irony is, I used it on my Thief for MONTHS while leveling up but was unaware of the limited access of that skin. I’ve even got a few screenshots of her in it that armor that pop up on my screensaver and desktop background from time to time just to mock me….

This seems to be getting worse (not better). Clearing the cookies does not seem to have any consistent effect on the error.
Very frustrating.
The real issue with this is keeping a good check on when your server has what color and making sure you clear that borderland during the week you are the right color. Note that this can often be frustrating as it is possible to go for months without ever having your Sever get the color you need.
When your Sever has a specific color make sure you tavel to EB and get whatever locations you can (this can take several trips and possibly is best reviewed at different times of the day if possible).
Of course, you need to keep a close eye on Stonemist and jump at the chance to get in there and clear the central EB map. This can be quite difficult if your Server is less than competitive at WvW and you are up against superior Servers most of the time. It’s worth a look at the ladder to see the relative WvW standings of your current opponents and consider if your Server even has a chance to get Stonemist control during the current matchup.
Note that I’m not an expert at this and all of the above is kind of obvious stuff.
From my experience of opening many black lion chests in the past, they’re a real waste of gems. I’m amazed people are still willing to run for keys with a very low chance of getting anything good out of it. The desperation is real here.
I’m not sure that word (desperation) means what you think it means….if people are doing this to get rich, then DELUSION might be a better word.
In terms of earning gold, No key runs are not profitable use of time (tho a good RNG drop CAN make it so). I do it as a side activity to break up my other GW2 goals.
You are asking “when”? But Anet has never indicated (beyond the new Journal system allowing certain LS2 content to be replayable) they are going to do ANY of what the OP assumes is in the works. Shouldn’t you ASK (yes, I know it has been asked many times) and get an acknowledgement these things are in some way being worked on before you ask WHEN they are going to happen?
Short answer: NOT SOON

Not completely….so my bad.

I’m guessing his associate email has been hacked and that was used to compromise his GW2 account. If an email comes in from a valid account to Support, they will change the GW2 password, no questions asked (unless a policy change has been made recently.
Once a hacker gains control of the account any number of things can be done to hinder the original user from regaining control of the account. First, SECURE the email account (that being compromised has many more potential problems than a lost GW2 account).
Correct, but you have to have admin access to the actual server (or the return/bounce message itself) to hunt down the problem. While the reason can always be found, often that information is unavailable to the end user.
Didn’t mean to imply anyone was not tech savy, but your comment sure sounded to me like you believed some emails just “fade away into the ether”. Sorry for that misunderstanding.

Since this is NOT a generic issue and multiple people have reported it, I would have to think Support is aware of the problem and may have a fix (that nobody here seems to be aware of). Submit a ticket (SERVICES > SUPPORT > SUBMIT A TICKET (top right) and Support is likely able to assist.
BTW, if you get a solution, please post it back here so those of us that frequent this board will be able to assist future players with this problem.
Thanks and sorry we couldn’t help directly (tho Astral’s suggestion to do a DAT file repair is not a bad one).

This has to be legit (beyond the fact that Anet employees have said it is a valid mistake)….it’s using an email proxy address I ONLY have ever used for GW2 sign up and Support tickets. I seriously doubt anyone would send out random emails to this proxy (as it has TWO . extensions in it.).
If this WAS a phisher, it was the best formatted and worded one I have ever seen.
Not sure why anyone would ever reply to any email you are unsure of the source…..you just verified to the sender that you are a valid address and that usually ends up putting your email in a much more profitable email list sold among spammers…never a smart move.

At least let us trade SPs for something directly useful. 50SP = 1 Laurel? = 10,000 Karma? …something
Disclaimer….those are just examples off the top of my head, no thought went into the actual values.
The day they announced MegaServer, I realized they were consolidating active zones and I now believe the reason is the eventual introduction of GW1 type Hard Mode for ALL Exploitable Zones (that will potentially DOUBLE existing Zone requirements).
Dungeons would be easier (less overall work) but would effect a much smaller segment of the player base. Anet released some statistics early in the game (could be inaccurate now) that indicated less than 40% of players had ever even entered a dungeon instance.
Just to reiterate my “support” for Anet Support.
I’m not sure exactly HOW I could ever expect better Support than that (THANK YOU GM Draghna!)

It’s possible to get +5g per SP if you know what you are doing when promoting, but the materials involved require LONG wait times for orders to fill (and a good bit of seed money to buy the required materials).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Why can you not break up any full set of armor you buy in the gem store?
If this is going into outfit territory, let me off…..
I think the recently released Ascended back items are bugged and ARE currently Soulbound on Use….at least there is plenty of angst over something to do with them in various posts around these forums…
Anyone done the math on promoting to Superior Siege in the Mystic Flusher?
I know it costs an SP so this is likely not very lucrative (compared to other methods to turn SP into gold).

And sometimes hiccups happen and emails don’t make it to the recipient for no apparent reason……
There is ALWAYS a reason. I’ve run email administration for 10 years and I’ve never seen an email just “not get there”. Yes, emails sometimes do not make it to a destination, but there is ALWAYS a reason of some sort that can be corrected if the proper authorized administrators care enough to fix it (or established policies allow for it to be fixed).
Many of the designs behind the mechanics of GW2 can be a nuisance. Due to the way how their client works, I experience bad lag during peak times. The game’s client is fighting with one of the data server my ISP uses to send data to them due to the way the client works.
Seriously? Your ISP is throttling your bandwidth during peak times (it has become a very common practice with providers these days). Whoever told you it has anything to do with GW2’s client is flat out lying to you (let me guess….someone at your ISP?).
If that was a troll post, it was masterfully done….Kudos!
Reviver: Nageling in Diessa Plateau is usually filled with downed allies and you can also take on the Giant (he counts toward Giant Killer Achievement).
You have some facts mixed up. PAE allows the OS to handle up to 64GB, but each individual program that is 32-bits is STILL limited to using 4GB total address space….PERIOD. You cannot compile a 32-bit program to use more memory (That’s a limitation of how an Intel processor works in 32-bit mode).
PAE allows for the OS to utilize additional memory so the use of Swap Files is greatly reduced when multiple processes are active (without PAE, all operations above the main memory size (or 4GB) must be handled by a swap file even if more than 4GB of memory is physically present).
What kits ARE you using? I have found significant increases in both Dark Mater and Ectos (from Exotics and Rares) when using BL kits rather than my normal Mystic ones. I could just be imagining it, but since I have a glut of BL kits in storage, I’m sticking to my imaginary results…..
I was running around Orr this weekend and did 5 Temple Events just by stumbling upon them. Doesn’t allow any planning, but the events were happening more often than previous (since MS release).
Best way to get precursor? Pray.
I’ve been told virgin sacrifice is an option….but has several downsides…
As pointed out above, there are a goodly number of enemies (especially the more powerful ones) that are either totally immune to Crits or are immune to them for some high percentage of the time they are present. In the case of fighting these foes, Power is king and Precision / Ferocity become completely wasted stats.
Beyond that exception (a VERY large one), the maths have already been calculated to death on this subject and Assasin’s ALWAYS comes out on the short end of the DPS stick, but builds that focus on Crit Triggers can certainly benefit from a higher precision as long as it is understood that such builds will be quite ineffective against immune Crit foes.
…..Mini pets acts as a active companion so will have 7% extra damage. …..
Just be prepared to loose this when they fix that glitch w/ mini-pets.

……
Especially when there’s a much simpler way to make sure it doesn’t affect anyone else’s gameplay. Events already scale dynamically as people enter or leave the area, it shouldn’t be too hard to make dying count as leaving.
I may be wrong here, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen Dev’s state that DEs and World Bosses only scale UP and never DOWN. Not sure if that’s a technical limitation or a design choice, but I would imagine changing it (and removing dead players) would not be trivial and as easy as you typing it.
So how long do we get to have access to the magumma map. Because who knows if this will be permanent. Nothing good has been permanent.
If you were slightly updated, you’d known that ArenaNet said that Living Story S2 will consist of Permanent content.
They have announced that the STORY parts will be re-playable via the new journal. Assuming that means ALL the content used in LS2 is permanent is YOUR (incorrect) perception of what they actually stated.
Even assuming the title of this means a new zone to explore is also a kittenumption (tho I do hope it is).
Also, the assumption that the Zephs only have one ship is pretty far fetched.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
What are you talking about when you refer to skills glitching out? Never once has a skill not worked for me during this event. There are traps and winds that you have to avoid, so maybe you’re confusing it with those?
My bad…misunderstood the original post. The Aspect Skills glitching (latency delay) has been an issue since last year so I made the kittenumption you were talking about that.
The winds are new (I think…don’t recall them last year) and a bit a of a PitA, I’ll agree.
As_-U-ME-ing your new hardware can’t have a failure is not very realistic here…..(see first word).
If possible, remove half the ram and test. Then remove the OTHER half and test again. (keep in mind that programs can stress different memory locations and not all memory tests are good enough to find questionable memory locations).
Then again, it could be the overlay issue mentioned above.

If you are not seeing Tearing with Vsync disabled, don’t enable it.
A very likely cause for this is the mechanical button on the mouse itself is wearing out. The constant need to HOLD a right click in GW2 puts a lot of stress on this part and some mice are better than others.
Also, note the HUGE thread on this issue below this one: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Mouse-losing-focus-right-click-to-turn-not-working-Merged/page/11#post3934637
I always just ask them pointed questions only an actual representative of the company they “claim” to represent would know and they usually hang up and never call again.
I’ve even had guys show up at the front door of my business claiming to be reps of companies we have (or had) contracts with. Simply asking for business card usually scares them off…..“let me go get some out of my car”…..never seen again….
No. Not possible.
There should be an almost immediate automatic response that says something like ‘Thank you for contacting us…’. If your friend has heard nothing after 72 hours, he/she can post the ticket number in the Sticky above for ticket reviews.
NOT getting this automated response, usually indicates some sort of communication issue with Anet Support and your email provider. The emails may be in your spam / junk folder or they may be being blocked by your mail provider for some other reason. There is a link on the front page detailing these possible issues:

You can only get the chest from Personal Story rewards. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stalwart_armor
Hmmmm……I hardly ever play PvP yet I have a few of the other pieces in my wardrobe….must have gotten the skins from Achievement Chests.
……
i mostly use long bow I no it slower but the range and some skills make me a killer
skill 3 make me cloak skill 4 KB a enemyalso I use a lot of terrain am not standing on the ground I will look for a higher place
because I no my range still will hit some playersmostly I use cat like pets for the dps and mostly my brown bear to use shake it of
still sad the players use a sword and horn
![]()
its not what a ranger most be doing its a archer class hide and seekbut maybe its because I like to pvp solo
![]()
I love sneaking around :pthief is also good in that
if I wane party with a big group I use Ele
that class suits much beter for helping others in my few
Not to be harsh, but most of what you are posting about your Ranger sounds a bit delusional….. Seriously, you are fooling yourself if you think a Ranger with a bow can out damage a melee Ranger (even a GS Ranger). Your image of what a Ranger “should be” does not enter into the conversation of DPS builds.
Are they a possible choice for Personal Story rewards? I know several of the other Stalwart pieces are.
The major fun I had with my warrior while leveling up was changing out weapons on a regular basis. The huge variety of weapons and their combinations kept me entertained as well as trying out different skill combos (Banner, Signets, Stances, Shouts).
Warrior has a VAST variety of different tools to try out. You will have plenty of time to be a GS / AXE/MACE Zerker when you hit 80, so try out some variations.
I think the locus swarms “staying around” was the buff bug the wiki is talking about…..If you defeated him with the bug active, you can count that as a “well done. sir!”. (Despite the thread Necromancy).
Personally I use a G13 Logitech keypad, but I absolutely SUCK at using a keyboard in games…..
As for a mouse, keep in mind that the right click button is likely to get worn out as holding it down is required to mouse turn (and you ShOULD be mouse turning).
“She called me a Booka……I think she was hitting on me….”
What about insufficient damage to trigger as being part of the kill (or do you just have to be nearby for Shatterer)? Could being speced for Condition Damage with a large number of like speced players cause this?
……
No sense at all…
If you apply the actual concept of RNG to what you stated, it makes perfect sense….
RNG has no concept of what is fair or reasonable….it’s just RNG.
NAMED exotics can drop for the character regardless of that character’s level. This has always been true and always will be the case. Regular exotics are restricted to character level like rares and masterworks are.
I think that claim requires some evidence as everything I’ve been told about the loot tables indicate the Named Exotics (and thus Precursors) are only available from the standard Exotics table. If you seriously have evidence that a Level 10 character can get a named exotic as a drop (NOT from the mystic forge), please share.

The funny part is that getting items via RNG is actually considered by ANet to be a viable way of acquiring them.
It’s obvious that Anet considers it a VALID way to obtain them but you are intentionally overstating the situation (by using the word ‘viable’) and truely have know way to actually KNOW what “Anet” considers viable or not. If you are going to use this thread to bash Anet, at least put on your tin-foil hat and prance around chanting about the super-secret hidden luck stat each character or account has…..
Played GW1 for 7 years and I would not recommend buying it just to get that armor (tho, the Medium Armor is very nice….I used it for months when the game first released).
It is outrageous to get closer to 5000 hrs played and receive non precursor.
Your number of hours played has no effect on RNG drops….just letting you know so you can re-evaluate what is and is not ‘outragous’.
It won’t happen. They make too much money for too little effort selling skins in the gem store.
I wouldn’t even mind if they kept selling skins in the gem store, just as long as new skins were being added to the game separate of the gem store at the same or a grater pace.
While that sounds good as a player, what is the economic incentive to do so? I’m not saying I wouldn’t like what you are asking for, but it just does not make much sense in terms of keeping the Servers powered on…..
