Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
Thanks bud!! I was under the Wardrobe tab -.- kitten kitten :p.
One of the side effects of the Wardrobe update that I hate is how the H window no longer defaults to the Equipment tab (tho if it did, I would likely complain about that too).
I’d love to know everything that is known about DR in GW2. Can someone help me?
You and everyone else. As mentioned above, it is likely that the only people that know more about the exact nature of DR other than the Anet Dev team are large scale bot farmers (that can gather tons of data from multiple locations to analyze).
I’d be willing to bet, since it’s a server side change (that Anet can do without requiring a client update), the exact formulas and parameters of how DR works changes over time to try and render analysis of large scale farming data inaccurate. At least that’s what I would do (kind of RNG the DR settings).
I’m guessing it would ONLY make sense to allow it to generate some Ascended materials and they didn’t want another source other than crafting?
To be honest, they simply need to allow you to toss 4 Ascended gear into the forge for the chance of a different piece of Ascended (or maybe some slightly better chance of a precursor or Ascended chest?). Maybe some “named” Ascended items with new skins?

….and how is any of this related to a GW2 technical issue?
So what happened to reading comprehension these days?
My comment was in response to the claim that “all my other programs work fine so it MUST be GW2 servers”, logic. The logic is flawed for the reasons and analogy I gave.
What I comprehend is that far too many users of the internet are clueless about how it actually works and jump to incorrect conclusions base on their mental “idea” of how they want it to work.
Any way you read the OP, it implies GW2 is at fault for the OPs situation. Your claim it does not is invalid.
I’m guessing (pure speculation) there is some reason specific Asian IPs are being blocked (likely a DoS attack or something similar originating from within the blocked IP range). This is often a first step emergency type response to such an attack, to allow operation for the remainder of the world to continue while the “source” of the attacks gets addressed.
Again, pure speculation.

The short answer is they can ban you for just about anything they want and you can’t really do anything about it. If you give them a reason (like using a program that gives an advantage….such as the one in question), you cannot be surprised when you get banned.
It’s pretty simple and they have NEVER hidden this fact from anyone.
Very short answer: Use Zoomunlocker at the risk of being banned.

GW2 cannot “damage” your network connection any more than iheart radio can cause your cell reception to go in and out…..

If they are getting DoS attacks from that ISP range, blocking the IP range until the source can be stopped (if the ISP cares to stop them) is the only solution to keep servers running…. Just speculating as to why they would do something like this.
It’s also possible your email account associated with GW2 has been hacked. Change that email address PW and then work on changing your associated email address in GW2 via a Support ticket.
Keep in mind that if you email has been hacked, your GW2 account may be the least of your worries.
Could be a network or connection glitch (but I’ve never had it come up and SAY another client logged in…..does not mean it cannot happen).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Submit a ticket and Support can possibly help you (since it was a gem store item, I am guessing they will, but am not sure).
SERVICES (top right of this page) > SUPPORT > SUBMIT A TICKET (top right of Support page).
Are you sure the food tool tip actually states the correct time (or does it just remain in effect until the Primer expires? Haven’t tried one yet, just speculating.
Funny because my traceroute doesn’t show any lost packets and yet I have skill delay and other lag issues. Another assumption on your part.
Traceroute can only test the connection ONE way.
If it was a generic server issue EVERY player on that server would experience the same issues. It is certanly possible they have some generic issues with specific Servers (they have acknowledged fixing such issues with patches since LS2 release), but it is MUCH more likely there is a routing issue or SOMEONE in the path is throttling your bandwidth to the Anet Servers (or back from ANet to you).
Stating that it MUST be GW2 if only GW2 is causing a problem only confirms you are not very knowledgeable about how the internet actually works. If a bridge to a city is out, it is NOT the city’s fault you can’t drive there and the fact you can drive to 5 other cities does not support you invalid assumption.

Anytime an MMO has a half off sale it’s bad. The die hard players are going “Say, I payed twice as much for this crap?” The people that are thinking of buying must ask themselves “Say, Why are they cutting the price in half, do they need the business?” Either way, it’s a slap in the face of the ones that already paid.
So, when Skyrim was on sale for $30.00 on Steam this summer, everyone should assume the game is garbage then right, and that everyone who paid full price prior should be up in arms about it?
Every MMO ever made has had reduced pricing to try and get another surge of sales years after release. Box sales aren’t GW2’s major source of income anyways, it’s in-game purchases. They just need to get people in the door.
$30.00 ??? Are you from Australia
? I got it for 3.6 euro (without expansions)
And to OP .. It’s been 2 years. Ofc a sale happens, doesn’t mean the game is dying. Actually gw2 is doing better than ever. Sold more copies in China than it did on release.
Buying a game for 50% on steam sale just to see it go 90% next day. Now that’s a “slap in the face”
The $30 sale was for Skyrim and ALL the DLCs…pretty good price. Easily 300+ hours of quality RPG gameplay with a fully mod-able environment (potentially much more) for $30 is nothing to sneeze at.
I think that boat has sailed this year……It was 4th of July last year and this year LA is pretty much in ruins and the did give Dragon Coffers out in BL chests for 2 weeks (woot!).
I 100% agree that time gating the Charged Crystals currently has no reason to exist (at least not in the current one/day format).
The problem with this I have noted is as follows: If you change from 2 1-handers to a 2-hander, the off-hand item is likely going to the first open inventory slot available and thus will be prime for accidental selling or salvaging (mixed in with all the other BS loot you just gathered). The main hand will swap with the old location of the 2-hander but the off hand has nothing to swap with and thus goes in the first available bag slot.
Currently, being AWARE of this situation is the only remedy (and likely moving the off-hand ASAP to safe location so it is no longer in “the danger zone”….).
If there is a solution to the above listed situation that I have missed, please provide detailed solution.
Kind of OT here: Has the OP ever HEARD the Flipper Theme song? Those lyrics do not even remotely follow the tune nor cadence of the song…..at least do a half- kitten job of attempting satire….
In terms of general crafting, this would be a great tool.
In terms of the material markets on the TP….can’t see how it wouldn’t be used / abused to greatly effect it (tho, in the long run, it would likely result in a better supply / demand equilibrium).
I’m sure there are some other economic / market ramifications to this I’m not taking into consideration.

Raptors in middle of Bloodtide Coast….with plenty of Bandits and Pirates nearby (bags that have poultry in them).
Did you mean Moa?
I know there’s a small group of slow-respawn raptors over by the frog juicers (a sentence I NEVER would have thought I’d write – ever), but I thought the rest of BTC was primarily moa?
There is an area of Eagle Raptors around the small camp in Risewild Hills. Just killed the last 20 of my Raptor Slayer chievo last night (with a dozen or so Poultry Meat on the side). Also, these do not spawn slow….I’m guessing there is 8-12 of them at any one time and they respawn before you can get back to them in a loop.
From those spidy numbers, there would need to be an influx of about 50,000 poultry into the TP supply to lower the price….very doubtful. I was sharing to help the OP out in terms of finding a non purchase source.

How rich is “rich”?
…….
so when are you rich?
Excellent questions. I’ve never had over 120g, don’t play the TP much and am STILL decking out all my Alts (8 LVL 80s) with Exotics. I plan on making some Ascended weapons and am collecting and refining the materials as I slowly level the crafting to 500 (I’m in no rush).
I seriously have never felt “poor” but obviously can’t afford uber-expensive items (tho I do splurge on some armor and weapons now and then). I certainly feel “comfortable” and in no way pressured to keep up with other players in terms of gear grind. I just watch what I spend and TRY to make decent decisions when using the TP. To me, this game just does not put actual pressure on any player to grind for gear beyond a certain point (tho I know some players seem to disagree with that view).
From my point of view, if you ever had 1000g in your wallet, that would be “rich”.
You might be better served by doing this “investigation” via a Support Ticket rather than in this forum. SERVICES (upper right) > SUPPORT > SUBMIT A TICKET (upper right of SUPPORT page).
My guess is that the player’s account has been banned or maybe that particular character was deleted (which could be a flaw in the system). I’m pretty sure that only Support can directly answer your question an they do not address posts in these forums.
How seriously immature is it to start a thread, nobody agrees with your rant and then you delete the OP? I think I now understand the actual source of this “issue”.
GW2 hard mode zones…..that is all.
The question is incorrectly worded as no player is actually performing actions that could result in an Exotic drop for the same amount of time during a week as any other player.
It’s like comparing how often 15 drivers speed when 5 of them ride the train and 3 of them commute 100 miles everyday while the rest drive less than 10 miles….
I also find it hard to believe there is not a better “tin-foil” hat picture available on the internets….. (that’s not a personal comment, just an observation).
Found one….

IF you have lots of Alts, it’s a good source.
I think you can get upwards of +30 Dragonite per Character you take thru the story. Doing the story takes no more than 30-45 minutes for each character (tho not beating your head on a hard object during the repeated dialog is the biggest challenge).
You can look at the change as Anet Griefing you or you can look at it as a challenge. You will be happier and find the game more enjoyable going with the later choice (as I doubt they are going to change it back).
…..I refuse too shop at Walmart.
Other stores with higher prices thank you….
So someone descides to do a Champ before you want to and this is defined as “griefing”? You do understand there are NO actual Champ train rules in any zone at any time, right?
Now the bragging about doing it first before eveyone else (and if they specifically indicate the did it to screw over those that want to do it after FE) IS potentially verbal griefing and certainly in bad taste (but when has any expectation of manners been met by the majority of “L33Tish” players in any MMO?).
I’d also add that any verbal abuse by those that are unhappy about it being done before FE is potentially griefing as your expectation that EVERYONE MUST do the Champ when you want is just simply delusional. You can be POed about the situation, but name calling and venting over (i.e. THIS post) it is just a silly waste of bandwidth.

So some of you actually believe that GEMS are some sort of commodity that is traded like RL gold? How quaint…..(and seriously delusional).
gems, are just a conversion factor, and means of saying store credit.
you could totally remove gems from the entire process, and call gold to gems gold to store credit.
people need to forget about gems as something special, gems is store credit.
THAT is my point….talking about them being transferred from one player to another like it’s a step in a process that actually happens is just flat out FUD and misrepresents what is the reality of the games economy.
If you state that Anet sells paperclips, they can make them, destroy them, let players trade them but they are NOT a limited resource or something physical that has any use other than to do business with Anet. Thinking of them in any other way is simply inaccurate and taints any other statements that hinge on such assumption.

What is the best days/times for the temple of Balthazar in NA. the last 5 or 6 times I was there it wasn’t open and I’m trying to get my shards for Ascended Crafting!
it might be worth waiting until a crowded time (prime time or weekends?) and stand at the Straits portal with Mount Malsrom and zone in and out to try and get into a different server (you can use /IP in chat to view the current server IP address) that might have it opened.
Per above….save your gold as you will need it.
Good Luck!
It’s a known bug. Appears it will be fixed with Tuesday’s patch.
Smoke Getsinyapie
So now you guys are ASKING for more types of keys….I’ve already got storage issues so thanks a bunch….
Doesn’t each of those items plainly state “Soubound on Aquire” in their description? That would make this a reading comprehension problem, not a game bug.
Have you submitted a ticket with Support (SERVICES > SUPPORT > SUBMIT A TICKET)?
Things specifically associated with your account would need to be handled by Support, not in or by reports in this forum. Bug Reports in game will not result in any direct action to your Account (that needs to be addressed via a Support Ticket).
If you are still asking if GW2 can adversely effect your WiFi connection or hardware, the answer is NO.
Make sure you click the “remember this network” checkbox when verifying or it will continue to ask you to verify every time you log in. It’s also possible that there is currently some issue with the email authentication not working properly (it’s been reported here several times today).
You really DO NOT want to disable this (if and when it is working properly). If anything you want to enable the mobile authenticator (as suggested above).
I wish Anet would release total active account numbers too. I know it will be arbitrary (how often they log in, how long are they logged in, are they spending money, etc) but it would be nice to be able to compare it to others MMOs with a bit more accuracy.
Still, I’m excited to see what this means for the future of the game. Definitely a huge mile marker for the company and community.
Do you seriously believe MMOs that publish those “numbers”?
So some of you actually believe that GEMS are some sort of commodity that is traded like RL gold? How quaint…..(and seriously delusional).
Point taken. However they chose to address this issue, I think most players can agree it does NEED to be addressed. I’d be happy with a Dev simply acknowledging they consider it a unfortunate side effect of the wardrobe system that they have no plans of changing….ok, not happy but less confused.
So if only has to do with NOT remembering the network, that may be why there are not tons of reports of the potential bug.
I know for a fact, it took about 36 hours for my Fellblade to “unlock” when I went back and got it. Maybe it just takes some time to sync up?
If you look at your Authorized Network List(s) on this site (MY ACCOUNT > SECURITY), do the numbers vary widely (as in the 2nd octet changes)? If the 2nd octet is different, are you connecting via a Cell Network or WAN connection?
If there are no Authorized Networks then you are not checking the “remember this network” box when verifying (and if you don’t want to verify EVERY time, you need to check it).
Now the issue of the re-verification (and I’m assuming your IP is not changing again), is a mystery to me as I have never seen this before. When you get the 2nd verification request, check your system IP against the Authorized Network values….if they match, then it is certainly a bug of some sort. Note that if this was “generic”, THOUSANDS of reports of this issue would be flooding in here.

Raptors in middle of Bloodtide Coast….with plenty of Bandits and Pirates nearby (bags that have poultry in them).
Button at top of page “wiki”
Search “back item”
It’s a very clear system that some may ignore and thus obtain traits “randomly” while playing. You can unlock specific traits by clicking on the telescope icon of traits in the tier you are able to access and following the instructions (and it will show you where on the game map you need to go to unlock it).
But you are NOT forced as there is the buy option for all of them.
Well ok, I did leave out the new UI step but I’m pretty sure when I opened my 15 chests recently I didn’t have to do a zillion clicks for each one, just hit the Open Another button on the UI.
Seriously?, you described the old method and I corrected your mistake….nothing personal in it, I just wanted to not confuse the OP with outdated instructions.
