Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
This is why all the perma tools are sold as “promotional” items….pretty much makes them immune to all “you owe me” claims…..because it was “promotional” (limited time offer).
Has anyone that is POed about this submitted a ticket to have their existing perma pick replaced by a watchwork one? Not saying it’s going to work, but the response would be an “official” one.
There is no way to put the Legendary / Precursor items for sale genie back in the bottle. I think if it were possible, Anet would go back and NOT allow them to be sold (or would in some way limit their sale), tho I doubt anyone at Anet would ever admit to this and would like deny any such suggestion. I’m betting any newly introduced Legendary / Precursor combos will NOT follow the existing Legendary / Precursor TP rules (which will prove that Anet knows it should be different in some way).
I don’t think the Ascended tier of gear was ever intended to be anything but crafted for YOUR account (mostly to maintain a long term goal for less casual players). If the reason for this post is to get Ascended gear on the TP, that simply will not happen.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Since the ONLY real issue in PvE for conditions is Champs / World Bosses in Zerg situations, isn’t it possible that some variation of this idea is ONLY applied when certain other BOON/CONDITION is present (Call it CRITICAL CONDITIONS for lack of a better term). Thus selected Champs and World Bosses could have this additional BOON/CONDITION present (either at certain times or whenever other condition stacks are maxed) while all other “targets” in both PvP, WvW and PvE would be immune to this additional condition damage effect.
On the other side of this is the fact that while this may potentially “solve” the reduced effect of conditions from multiple attackers on a single target, it appears to me it will still require some significant additional computing horsepower to function (determining who’s CD CRIT to apply and calculating and then displaying the value all take server side resources). The fact that (per above) it may be not applicable to the majority of targets in a zone may actually make the additional server resources doable.
TLDR: Only apply something similar to this idea to selected Champ / World Boss targets via some method of, “don’t bother to calculate this extra damage unless….”, coding. That would reduce server resource requirements, discount any OP concerns in other game modes and would allow for selective application of the more powerful CD scenario.
…..
FIX this NOW !
While I agree this needs to be fixed, do you really think a demanding command is the way to get this to happen quicker? I get you are frustrated, but throwing a tantrum wont help the situation one bit.
instead of acc.bound crafting. (I can’t see that happening because of the fact that it gives exp. ) all recipes learned should be account bound. That would be a major QoL feature.
While I agree it’s a good idea for a change, am I going to get back all the karma I have spent on multiples of the same Recipes for different characters? I’m guessing it’s not a huge amount, but somewhere on the order of 10K-20K karma.
I’m not going to put up a big stink about it, but you can bet some players here WILL.
The only suggestion to a NEW player is NOT to use a Ranger as your method to learn the basic game combat mechanics. It’s far too easy to fall into “lazy” gameplay mechanics with a RANGER (mostly due to RANGED + PET TANK not providing the proper need to learn how to move and dodge to avoid damage).
Beyond that, all classes are valid and the answer to your question can only be found by playing the classes yourself.
Again, the semantics of whether or not /sit = 1 action or 4 keystrokes is only relevant if anyone at Anet CARES if you make it easier for your character to perform the sit animation (which I highly doubt). The only possible “advantages” this could provide is for getting out of a “stuck” movement bug (an emote is usually an easy fix for this) a moment faster or any in-game activity that involves emotes (the Guild Challenge in Plains of Ashford comes to mind).
Technically, I believe it is 4 keystrokes, but my opinion on this does not matter.
There is a “look behind” feature you can bind also (if that’s what the OP means). It rotates the camera 180 while held without effecting you current movement or targeting. Powerful option if you can add it to your keybinding scheme and use it effectively.
Options when blinded:
Note that # 3 is a much more powerful option for you foes than you realize….If you don’t have any condition removal available AND do not want to make an attack, you simply have to wait…..decisions, decisions (meanwhile, your foe is pursuing his immediate goal without being hindered).
As posted previously, material drops are NOT effected by DR (Diminishing Return) code….only equipment drops and other loot. Karma from local events is also effected (but only if you continually repeat the same events in the same zone).
It is not difficult to rotate zones and avoid DR altogether, but in general there are other activities in the game that are potentially more lucrative than this type of “farming”. When other players mention “farming” gold, they encompass a LOT of potential activities in order to earn gold as the final reward (a good many are listed above).
“Play how you want”, (BTW, this misquote must be nearing it’s 1 millionth misuse by now) never refereed to obtaining a Legendary Weapon (what this complaint REALLY boils down to). The implication that you should be able to obtain the most “exclusive” items in the game by easy means is not even slightly reasonable.
How about the obvious solutions suggestted?
“LFG – No AP requirement, All builds welcome.”
Conflict avoided…..no harm, no foul. You get what you want, “Elitists” get to avoid players they don’t want to deal with. Win Win.
They talked to a manager at GameStop and he took care of it. Hope the original employee got some training.
They either got fired or were told how to hide their sticky finger exploits better. Retail game stores are notorious for this kind of thing (and very often the managers are the fully aware of what is going on beneath them).
I also require for the official response of this question.
Why would anyone ever respond to such a demanding and entitled statement?
Anet has given you an in-game tool to report bugs and improper player behavior and is under no obligation to indicate to any player how the information is used or acted upon. Any implication by players they are OWED this feedback is simply delusional.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
About 50% of OPs points are somewhat or mostly valid, but that’s my opinion (and we all know what those are like…). The other 50% are almost a total opposite of what I feel (again, all other ones stink….)
Suggestions have been made for a /server channel in chat…..possible solution?
Per above, I bet you guys are clicking on another target but don’t realize it because the surround Zerg is causing you to lag / loose mouse visibility. You are clicking on another target when you are meaning to rotate the camera and clicking off the target by accident.
I had this issue myself and switched the option to require DOUBLE clicking to select a target and problem solved. TAB key is a much better way to select targets than clicking.
OT: If this is considered a serious issue, it might have better visibility in the BUG forums.

Honestly this is a post I thought about doing myself. Every week there is three or four new threads talking about needing mounts in game. We don’t need them. It would be just like Farming Flats.5370 said, slow the kitten servers down. Do people not realize this. Is it that hard to understand.
So because they can’t update their technology, we shouldn’t have a feature that many have been clamoring for?
This has nothing to do with updating technology, slow servers or “many” players clamoring for a feature. Mounts are absolutely unnecissary in the game and against GW lore since lore existed.
Period.
FULL STOP.
And this is just absolutely 100% total biased pure NONSENSE
PS: and more I won’t post about this topic, because i know it will lead only again in infractions and its just a full waste of time to try to talk with biased mount scared people that aren’t open or willing at all to discuss about mounts in any constructive way
My goal was achieved!!! Mwahahaha!
-1. Game is doing just fine without it, and no-one yet has proven that even a barely passable majority have any interest in it.
Keep that “logic” out of these forums. No one can prove that the majority of players are for/against dueling without using anecdotal evidence.
Such terrible overreacting in these dueling threads.
Not sure your “logic” about what to keep out of the forums is in anyway needed either.
The overreaction is due to continual posting (over and over) of the same ideas by the same basic segment of the player base. I’d also say he is quite correct that a vast majority of player do NOT want this type of option in Open World zones and his evidence IS the vast majority of negative reactions to these types of threads (tho assuming the forum goers are representative of the overall playerbase is far from accurate). There is already 2 game modes that allow for PvP and the majority of those that are PvE only players are NOT interested in competitive 1v1 gameplay in the least.
….and a dozen or so colonies as I recall.
…too soon?
I’d like a Royal Terrace pass for all my alts while they’re at it.
Wish I could sell you all the ones I got out of BL chests over the past few weeks…..those are the most worthless storage slot takers of all time.
The tools were originally soul bound on equip. Anet made a compromise by making them account bound thus taking a loss in tools sold. Those who had multiple of the same tool got gem refunds. I think the current system is fair. If you want the connivence of having tools on alts without going to the bank then buy multiple tools. There has to be a line drawn some place. Anet is not a not for profit organization.
^^ THIS ^^
The old adage, “give ‘em an inch and they’ll take a mile”, comes to mind with this request. Again, the economic model of this game REQUIRES Anet to sell gems to keep the servers running…. If you need more perma-tools, buy them.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
I WAS exaggerating on purpose when I typed the quoted line….did you just not read my disclaimer? My message was that YOU flippantly insulted everyone that EVER did map clearing (you appear to NOT be aware that HEARTS are required to clear a map despite what the Devs say their purpose is) and I was contrasting your remark (maybe a bit too bluntly…but that TOO was on purpose).
I’m not sure if you are pretending to not see your original insult or if you truely do not feel it WAS insulting (because I’m obviously NOT the only one that took it that way).
Again, my intention was to show you how it felt to have your favorite content be-littled, NOT to actually be-little the content.
I don’t want someone following me around pestering me into fighting/taunting me for not being interested.
The exact concern and reason as to why this will NEVER happen.
I would not be apposed to them turning specific small areas into “Duel Zones”. The Breach in Black Citadel comes to mind as a possibility. Or maybe some dedicated instanced arenas (similar to the arena areas in Borderlands).
Per above, as long as I don’t have to see, hear or be aware of it, duel away.
GW2 could not survive as a sub based game.
Thank all that is worship-able!!
BTW, this thread is likely to get closed…..this forum is not for comparisons with other MMOs (not MY rules).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
My message: Hearts are pretty much just quests. Personally I find them boring.
Grimm’s message: Dungeons for elitists who need to prove their skill to themselves.
The message is totally different there.
You exaggerated both “messages” to fit your back-peddling claims. Good job.
My overall goal here was to show you what it felt like to have content you enjoy get be-littled in a flippant, backhanded way and I appear to have succeeded.
Peace out.
……. Let’s take the precursors as example. …….
Seriously….the single largest exception to all economic standards that exists in the game? An example…..?
How about you take a Marksmanship class and ask, “Hey, how about, for example, we start with the 120mm cannon on that M1 tank over there…..”
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Look up the definition of the word, “fee”. I think your answer is there.
You do not appear to be aware of the actual reason for the “fee”. Anet has no need for in-game gold (they frankly own ALL the gold and create and destroy millions of it daily), but for any MMO economy to be healthy gold DOES need to be removed from the game (a “gold sink”) in a manner that is not “obtrusive” to the player (simply for the sake of “immersion”). The TP transaction fees are one such “gold sink” and ARE VERY necessary.
Any company betting on Bitcoin right now is either not too bright or desperate for any business they can get (looking at you, Dell).
Casual players like myself will have no chance to craft one anyway. I can’t even level my crafting from 400-500 with the INSANE amounts of items needed just to craft 1 kitten insignia and then I need another 4 of them plus other mats.
BALLS to that. Grind Wars2
I’m thinking that casual players not being able to craft Legendary Weapons is absolutely working as intended. Just an observation from outside this “entitlment” thread.
I’m not talking about the flat % increase in stats but the POTENTIAL damage increase. BEST case with Zerker (pre-Ferocity) was calculated out to give a possible 14.6% damage increase with Ascended weapons. I think after the Ferocity change, this is down to 10-12% MAX damage increase (for FULL ascended Zerker sets).
Dungeons can be fun but I don’t believe this game is centered around them.
There is certainly a faction of players that seem to think they are the ONLY game content “worth” playing. Kind of sad.
Why is their opinion “sad” but yours is not?
(The above is a gross simplification and stereotyping done on purpose to show narrow-minded contrast to the quoted statement….felt I needed to add this disclaimer as this is NOT my personal feeling (ok…maybe a little)
Didn’t say their opinion was sad and YOU put the “quotes” around sad…not me. I did not say that as a put down, but a genuine feeling of regret and loss. The fact that some players completely discount every other aspect of the game to the point of actually BELIEVING their favored content (that is a VERY small percentage of the actual content) IS the only important part of the game is quite sad. Also, I do find it sad that I avoid Dungeons like a plague, not because of the content, but because of the general atmosphere and the attitude of the majority of the regulars present there.
…….. What’s the problem with that? You don’t see me going around insulting your favorite thing to do in the game :/
Really? How freakin’ ironic that you don’t realize what you posted was insulting to anyone that clears maps. kind of making my point about the attitude and atmosphere other players get from some Elitist Dungeon regulars.
BTW, the Dungeon content is fine and any insulting insinuation was not directed at the content.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
With waypoints, 100% swiftness uptime, and 25% perm movement speed, mounts are useless, which makes them the perfect cosmetic item. The difference between my warrior running with swiftness and riding a mount would be that i don’t have to hear that annoying warhorn or hear SOR activating every few seconds.
I don’t think they should be used in WVW or pvp, but for pve it would be awesome.
So you’d replace the single warhorn and casting sounds with whatever annoying, repeated audio track was connected to the BLING HORSEY you and 30 other Warriors are riding? The logic and reasoning around here is just astounding….
I logged in and looked and I admit I must have recalled wrong (or the menus have changed). The only related setting I can see now is FREE CAMERA (which should NOT be enabled in GENERAL OPTIONS and I do not have a key bound to it in the Key Bindings). I also so not have any keys bound to the TURN options (as I strictly use the RIGHT mouse to rotate).
I’m now as baffled as you are as to the location of any settings that could effect this in-game.
The other possibility (sans the mouse button being defective…) is some mouse macro software running at the OS level that could be causing a conflict in the game.
Been key running for about 3 months now. Do it as filler content and I enjoy mixing it up a bit to see if I can do it faster (average about 20min/run). Guess I’ve opened about 150 chests since I started.
Paid off on Sunday night….Perma Bank Contract dropped.
…..so yes, I’m laughing at the joke….
So what was it like selling your soul to the RNG gods? Or did you do the sacrifice your first-born deal?
That is like someone who won a $100 million lottery telling you lotto tickets is a good investment.
I was neither condoning nor advocating key farming or gambling in general and certainly never implied BUYING BL keys was ANY type of “investment”. I was just sharing my recent experiences with BL chests (the subject of this thread), but many thanks for the nasty and venomous, jealousy laced reply you felt the need to share with everyone. Hope you have a great day too (note my orignal reply had far too many kittens in it so I did a 180….)
For the record, I think actually BUYING the BL keys is ignorant…..
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Your misunderstanding of how the TP works is NOT a bad design but a mistake on your part.
I think he meant gold to gems…..best option to get an “exact” amount of gems.
Not to discourage your suggestion, but you realize the other option is to NOT make ingredients until you plan to use them for final items, right?
…is that some tin foil garment sticking out of your back pocket?
What is the difference in effectiveness between someone geared in exotics and someone geared in Ascended?
……
That’s a meaningful difference, but not huge. Not enough for me to grind.
This is the general consensus on Ascended Armor. Ascended Weapons are generally considered worth the extra effort as a variety of damage increasing mechanics an make the Ascended vs Exotic weapon damage spread upwards of nearly 15% while the low end is at least 7% increase).
This is a “difficult” request, but I’ll give it a shot:
Leather – Midnight Rust (darker) and Calfskin (good natural soft leather look)
Gold (metal) – Sand or Antique Gold (lighter) or Dijon (darker)
Silver (metal) – Burnished Steel (lighter) or Blue Shade (darker)
Cloth – Any of the Midnight colors (dark).
Dark Red with yellow highlights…..Heirloom (one of my favorites)
Black – Abyss (overly expensive) but Midnight Blue is a GREAT substitute.
You do know that you can preview colors from the BL TP listing screen (before buying), right?
I seriously don’t think Anet cares if you macro /emotes to a key, but I DO feel it violates the “spirit” of their macro policy, so I would not rule out a possible ban for using it (tho as stated above, I’m SURE thousands of players use this and I doubt a single one has ever been banned for it).
Dungeons can be fun but I don’t believe this game is centered around them.
There is certainly a faction of players that seem to think they are the ONLY game content “worth” playing. Kind of sad.
LFG is to help people find like minded individuals to run with. I have no requirements when I run my group because I like it care free and sometimes an additional challenge of shouldering the load or not stacking.
There is nothing wrong for a speed run player or anyone for that matter to form a group with their own specifications. If he wants to kick you because he hates you name..that is totally fine.
The elitest are not preventing you from running a dungeon, they are just preventing you from running in their group which is fine.
I only see this argument valid if there is a lfg just saying p1 with no written requirements as that can be annoying..but again their choice and it is your choice to start a group or try to join one.
I take some exception to your use of the word “fine” in the above examples, but I’m guessing the reason you used is more defensive than you mean to let on here. Those things are certainly within the rules and everything you stated is true, but being rude, and snobbish should never be described as “fine”, IMO.
I pretty much totally skipped out on hearts. Hearts are for people who need boring quests to help them find a goal. I suggest you try dungeons if you like group instances, try out commanding in WvW if you have the money on hand, try out SPvP, and give the other classes a try.
Totally skipped the Dungeons. Dungeons are for those that need some sort of validation as a “L33t” player or that have reached the point where earning gold is WHY they are playing a game….
(The above is a gross simplification and stereotyping done on purpose to show narrow-minded contrast to the quoted statement….felt I needed to add this disclaimer as this is NOT my personal feeling (ok…maybe a little) and I can sense the mentality of some posting here).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
The whole idea of “meta” in PvE is utterly irrelevant for 99% of players. Sure, if you are in some quote-unquote “hardcore” speedrun group, trying to repeatedly blaze through dungeons as efficiently as possible, all day long — and everyone in the group is at the top of their game — playing the “meta” might save you a couple of minutes each run. But unless you are in that top echelon of ultra-efficient speedrun players (and don’t kid yourself, you probably aren’t), any noticeable impact the “meta” will have on your performance is mostly in your own imagination.
This is not true. It’s fairly easy to tell the difference between Ascended Celestial gear with Traveler’s runes and Exotic Berserker gear with Scholar’s runes when solo’ing camps in WvW — it works with both, but the latter is much faster. (Both were with basically the meta for my class — which I can also assure you is much more efficient than what I was running previously.)
……
Did you miss the “in PvE” part of his statement….you consider WvW to BE PvE?(maybe EotM is somewhat close…..?). Taking a Camp might be similar to PvE, but it is NOT indicative of the situations you encounter in an Open PvE zone (which is were the concept of “meta” is a non-issue). In most PvE situations (sans instanced Dungeons), how FAST you kill something is irrelevant except in the mind of those that need some sort of cyber-validation in their “life”.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Frankly, if exploring the open world does not enthuse you to continue playing (from a PvE perspective), then it’s not that you are playing wrong, but that maybe you have chosen to play the wrong game for your particular gaming tastes.
No game will be satisfying to every player.
I think most GW veterans(myself included) thought that we would be getting about the same number of skills that we had per profession when Prophecies was released or at the very least the same number of “Core” skills.
Please speak for yourself. If you did ANY research into the GW2 development and/or participated in any beta events, it was quite easily apparent the simplification of the skill system was intentional and this game was NOT going to be GW1+. I’m not overly thrilled with the results, but I accept the game for what it IS, not what I think it should be to suit my individual tastes.
I loved GW1 but I’m intelligent enough to look at it’s eventual complexity to realize NO sane developer would go down that road a 2nd time. I seriously wonder why all those that claim this game is the results of “lazy” design and “dumbing down” continue to play it? Hold tightly to your negative views and just move on……or go back and play GW1….Severs are still up.

I have been told (By Gaile (Anet) in another similar thread here) that Anet Support CAN NOT remove a dishonorable tag, so sending in a ticket is a waste of time.
You just have to wait it out as of now.
Ok, But HOW? Just a bit more detail please.
ESC – Options – Keyboard Control options tab and look for a “mouse look” or “mouse turn” setting box….don’t have the client up in front of me for better details.
Not to be mean, but you could have found this yourself in the time it took you to type the “hold my hand” request. I’m not 100% sure this is your problem, I was just pointing out a possibility.
