2 possible solutions to this delima for the OP:

1. Run past the Zerg and continue doing what you were there for. Unless you were there to KILL the Champion the Zerg is after, why does it matter?
2. Join the Zerg and do a loop with them (gain some reward and have a bit of mindless fun) and then see # 1.

I get the question is about the health of the game in general, but the fact that so many players are actually engaged in an activity together (no matter how mindless or boring some other players may feel that activity is), kind of indicates the game is just fine and maybe the question you SHOULD be asking is if YOU want to be a part of this game any longer…..?

Does that fact KEEP you from obtaining the items in ANY way? No, they are just cheaper.

If that IP IS your local address, that is likely your problem…first 2 octets NEED to be 192.168 for NAT to work properly.

Definatley some issue last night around 10PM. Runing fine until about 10PM CDT (per above times), then unplayable lag (and I usually NEVER have issues like that). My first thought was a possible DoS attack on GW2 servers…..so I quit and went to bed….all good this morning.

Those with long standing skill lag issues should understand this particular report does not have anything to do with your continuing issues…other than they ARE likely some internet connection issue to the GW2 servers.

There is also the possibilty that some other electronic device near your computer (or the keyboard) is causing some sort of interference with the wireless keyboard connection. Is it RF or Bluetooth? Usual suspects are external HDs, other gaming hardware (even if it’s wired) or even a phone or cell phone docking station (especially a wireless charger rig).

The other option is a defective keyboard…..swap just the keyboard with your husband and then try swapping the USB receiver and see if the problem follows the hardware.

I think the Ley Line set is one of the best they have put out in quite a while, but then everyone’s taste is different. There has not been another (new) BL skin set in quite a while so I can only guess the OP is talking about the Ambrite set (which is crafted, not a BL skin). That one I don’t care for too much (but I’m not a big fan of big gold weapons).

Rather than arguing here where nobody can do anything about it, might I suggest you open a Support Ticket and complain to someone that MIGHT be able to help you out.

I would like to “hear” the rifle / pistol audio as I have read they are simply awesome (rail gun sound). If so, I will need the Rifle for my Engi.

Seriously, NOTHING in this game is “locked behind RNG” in terms of you not being able to access some part of the game without it. All RNG items are 100% optional items that are NOT required to progress.

If OPs only reason to craft is to reach 500 and make an Ascended Weapon….and they did it in one day….then decided to /RageqQuit crafting….

Just a few points that some guides just ASSuME you know:

1. Discovery of new recipies earns MUCH more Crafting XP than just replicating items you already know recipes of. Discover 3 gloves and 3 boots (one of each stat) rather than 6 of the same glove. Takes more planing for fine materials, but results in more efficient advancement.
2. Crafting Boosters reduce the amount of materials used to generate items…..it does NOT effect XP or Crafting XP gain in any way.
3. If you accidentally overcraft components, you can sell them on the TP rather than craft extra items.
4. Keep crafted items you plan to salvage (returns some materials) to assist with Dailies.
5. If buying materials ALWAYS place buy orders and wait for them to fill. Buying immediately is for suckers.

Been key running for about 3 months now. Do it as filler content and I enjoy mixing it up a bit to see if I can do it faster (average about 20min/run). Guess I’ve opened about 150 chests since I started.

I get that. I’m definitely a PvEer and find venturing into WvW quite stressful (tho lately it’s in a good way). On the other hand PvE players have 4 “stressful” maps to clear while PvP/WvW players have over 30 “boring” ones to clear (that each have MANY more required visit locations).

While the term “forced” is used here, nobody needs the Title or a Legendary Weapon for any reason, so nobody is being “forced” to do anything…..

Per the first answer. It’s much more lucrative (and faster) to simply earn enough gold to buy them. The drop rates on all types of Loadstones is down right depressing….

May want to keep a few of each if you plan on a lower level character to follow soon, but otherwise just toss them in the Mystic Flusher….

Might I suggest you open a ticket to ask about this. They can obviously see your GF logged into her account multiple times and they should certainly then gift her the content.

Also, if this happens enough, they will realize their instructions on HOW to unlock the content are NOT sufficent and can attempt to change that aspect of the process.

While I don’t doubt that may be ultimately true, I do not think ANET has actually come out and said this as a fact. Obviously, the content is not DESIGNED for the journal (that has been stated), but I think they left it open for interpretation when they said they were “looking into how to release the content as re-playable”.

It’s entirely possible they may journalize / instance the actual story portions of LS1 while being choosing to possibly cut-scene or story board the actual open world event aspects. It’s also NOT impossible to make a “historical” zone to replay parts of it (say a randomized “past” zone for a Scarlet Invasion?). I doubt they go that far, but its not impossible.

My point is you stating it will NEVER be in the journal is simply not factual (unless I missed some Anet comments on the issue and if so, please provide links to back up your statement).

Altering of the existing WP system could be interesting if done properly. I do agree there are between 30% and 60% too many WPs currently in game and removing some of them would not be the end of the world (nor incite mass exodus from the game).

I often roam the open world even when I don’t need to (usually to pick up needed Dailies) as I find that one of the most enjoyable parts of the game.

Now….for the inevitable, “Remove WPs and add MOUNTS!!!” threads….

I absolutely want the focus for my Mesmer and am considering the Rifle for my Engi and possibly the Hammer for my Guardian.

It is, but the tomes are rather rare drop (and class specific, so you could get a Mesmer tome but need a Necro skill) and I’d rather rely on earning gold and SPs than RNG.

Also, the lack of an actual Trading Post in GW1 means a good bit of wasted time in Kamadan trying to sell the tome you got and then buy the one you need…PitA.

The unlocks came first when they started selling the PvP skill packs (I think between Factions and Nightfall releases). Tomes did not come out until AFTER Eye of the North (as I recall).

I get the distinct feeling they will be tweaking the new system over the next few months to get it right. It is certainly flawed, but I think the biggest “gotcha” about it is all the abrupt changes it tossed at long time players all at once. On the other hand, I’m not sure a “gradual” change would not have been received any better as the dislike would have been applied over a longer period of time.

Hoelbrak s kind of unusual to have an entrance into a LVL 40-50 zone. Dredgehaunt Cliffs is one of may favorite areas (and Timberline Falls to it’s South is awesome as well).

Legendaries have gotten significantly more difficult. People who got them last year only had to do about 1/20th of the work that has to be done now. Prices are up ten fold but gold generation and overall drops in game have been cut in half in even the best of circumstances. Not saying if that’s a good or bad thing, but the legendaries are as hard as they are right now because they should feel legendary doesn’t hold much weight for me, considering the majority of legendaries floating around were quite easily made compared to what people venturing out to get them now are faced with.

You need to PROVE all of the above….you stating it does NOT make it fact nor even close to ACTUAL truth. Your perception of how “easy” or “hard” something is or “was” is only “the TRUTH” in your own mind (and I will agree that is all that matters for YOU).

What is the actual reason to guest to another Server since Megaserver anyway? I guess I’m missing the logic process of the OP wanting to guest to Blackgate in the first place.

If you are attempting to MOVE, then they have a system and it does NOT promote making it easy to move to a very high pop server….just like it should.

I have no idea what you expect the outcome of this post to be but I just don’t see how it can end up better than what you are currently doing. If you are looking for some official “exemption” to the standing policy, I’m not sure this was the best way to go about obtaining it (if that would even be something Anet would consider…which I don’t think they “officially” would).

I’m not trying to be callus, but until you posted this, nobody at Anet would have much a of a way (or reason) to consider a 3rd party program was being used on your GFs account. Good luck with this….

Am i incorrect or doesn’t it generate the 3 harvests all at once…..so the animation for 3 harvests is actually LESS time than 3 axe swings….(or it’s the same time).

Unless it can be proved that “flipping” harms the economy (and I’m SURE that has been looked at closely by Anet for the last 18 months), I see no reason it should not exist, just because some players don’t like how it can generate wealth without actually playing the games content. If Anet says that’s ok, then it should be accepted that it IS ok.

Even in GW2, a following character had to obtain a tome (that did not become available until at LEAST 3 years after release)….no different than buying the traits with skill points and gold in GW2.

Treking into Mineral Springs with multiple capture signets was one of my favorite things to do.

For WvW, the main thing is to not wait until the last minute to go get those POIs, vistas and skill points. If you wait until the very last, and it’s all you have left, you will get very frustrated, as you’re not ever going to be able to just run around in one day and get them.

Probably good advice, but that ship has already sailed for me as I didn’t discover I would be forced to visit WvW until I already completed the PvE world.

I just can’t understand the mindset of trying to force players that like PvP to do PvE and vice-versa. For every person who may come away with a `that wasn’t as horrible as I thought` experience, far more are just going to be frustrated and annoyed.

While I get your meaning, you do understand how one sided your statement is, right? PvP / WvW players are forced to endure FAR more PvE zones to obtain the same results. The hardest part in mapping the WvW maps is being patient on the matchup rotation and remembering to go into maps regularly to check for easy availability to needed locations.

For those who didn’t play it in GW1 in order to get elite skills (which were usually the key part of your build) and some normal skills you had to buy a Signet of Capture and then find and kill a specific boss somewhere in one of the PvE maps. Most of these were only accessible after you reached the max level and in some cases after you’d reached a certain point in the main story to unlock the areas.

There was an alternative though, you could spend PvP faction points to unlock it on your account and then buy a skill tome to add it to that specific character.

The good thing about the GW1 system is that you only had to unlock something one time for your entire account, after that accessing it with multiple characters was a far lekittenous chore.

It unlocked it for use on heroes, but I don’t think it unlocked it for other characters that had the same class (or even secondary class)…….or I did a LOT of unneeded unlocks in Shiverpeaks and Ring of Fire zones…. I’m talking about PvE unlocks here.

So a /SERVER channel that does not display to guests and can only be typed into by some designated WvW leaders (I hesitate to suggest this be connected to Commander tags). Not a bad suggestion.

If you want a rune, buy an extractor (but most runes are cheaper than the extractor it terms of gold).

I recall when you actually had to use the Signet of Capture to INTERRUPT the desired skill to capture it…..Elite Stances were (nearly) impossible to obtain for at least the first 3 months. Good times!

There is nothing to fix as It’s not “broken” as is evidenced by many players that actually have them.

Now if you want to request that they change the method (or add another), that is a valid discussion.

TBH, if casual “poor” players (which includes me) could get a Legendary easily, they would not be very “Legendary”.

So there are those here defending someone’s right to grief others in-game and then make disparaging comments about how old someone is acting? Seriously?

The maturity level of some that play this game never ceases to amaze me….

Go clear some zones (that means go get all the Points of Interest, Waypoints, Vistas, Skill Points and Renown Hearts in an entire area….100% them).

Start with all the cities (use portal to reach Lions Arch and then portals at the hub to reach other cities). Note the cities do not have Renown Hearts or Skill Points (the home instance area CAN have one shared one) and are smaller, so they are faster to clear.

Then you can begin to clear each of City Starter (LVL 1-15) Starter Zone (or move on to higher level zones if you want). Note that the rewards for each zone increases as the level of the zone goes up.

Return to do your Personal Story as your level allows (or you can level a good bit and then go back and do a number of Story Missions back to back).
