Does the FAQ stop people from dodging a loss of rank by alt + f4’ing out of the match before they lose?
They still take a loss, as well as a rating hit.
Now I understand where they are coming fro, but what happen if the player d/c from server, client crashers or computer shuts down for no reason. Will that still count as a lost?
Tough thinking on that part because not every player leaves on purpose especially if it can be another problem.
Also keep in mind that hotjoin is extremely chaotic and zergy. Even the best players will fall easily if a sudden mob zergs them out of nowhere, and spam you all conditions in the game, while stunning/ KDing you several times in a row, while bursting you from two or three different sources.
You got that right….Hotjoins Spvp atmosphere isn’t calm at all.

has nothing to do with being serious or not, it has to do with being labeled as a team game and then releasing a leaderboard that has zero to do with teams.

They’re probably aware what they need to add and the feedback you’re giving along with others helps out.

At least it’s quicker than profession balance. I’m playing a regen warrior and I envy those classes with burst heals. High toughness can only do but so much against burst and condition builds playing as a warrior bunker . If this is their view of a warrior bunker.

Am I the only one here who thinks Rox looks fine? Keep in mind, she’s not a human. She’s a feline. Maybe her eye size could be reduced at least only a tiny bit, but otherwise I think it looks fine for a feline.
Nah you’re not the only and most don’t care much cause they just want to play the game than stare at a model.
I completely agree with Weindrasi. Rox just deviates WAY too much from the set standard. The “well she’s a younger charr” justification also completely fails given that we can see charr cubs (who are all incredibly cute in a charr sort of way) in-game, and none of them have this weird eye inflation affliction.
Inb4 all charr cubs are retconned to have huge eyes to justify Rox’ genetic disorder.
Might I suggest going out in the real world. You might be surprised by the fact that people are actually different, not everyone looks exactly the same nor do they have a set standard about how everyone should look. Why would Charr be any different?
All right, go out in the real world and find me a healthy example of a human being that has eyes five times as big as the average human.
Probably not in this lifetime unless it happens, but other than that……3000 years later it might happen O.O
I think your just going to have to get over the fact that your playing a female or that that you have buff ele. Considering how hands on D/D ele is it wouldn’t be surprising that you character is buff. I have have male sylvari because I happen to like there faces better even though I usually make female characters.
I guess you could try and pretend she’s male but its going to be obvious she’s not every time she talks.

Mesmers are overpowered in the sense of how frustrating their mechanics are.
they have way too many forgiving panic buttons, too much burst and too much team utility to be considered in line with the rest of the classes.
I play an ele, but I don’t roll the infamous cantrip 0/10/0/30/30 build. I play 0/20/0/20/30 zerker and I don’t feel more OP than your average guy. I do admit however, that eles need nerfs for the bunker build. If only they touched the problematic build without destroying my (or other) spec… that would be great.
But since it’s ANet, all I can expect is more RtL nerfs, that boon hate thing (that also affects my build greatly), and more random “fixes”.
The ele has been designed to be the “jack of all the trades and master or none” profession in this game, at any given time while I can’t have the mega burst of warriors/mesmers/thieves I will still be able to use my skills to bring home the victory
The only way to counter bunker is to use team work ( foreign words to the GW2 community) and wait for the boon hate mechanics + more boon stripping skills, Anet want counters to the current bunker, they won’t ruin the ele any further, we’ve have been receiving damage nerfs since BWE1, because of the crap damage you get even as glass cannon…people simply got tired of getting killed in1s by invisible enemies
You say teamwork so that’s 3 vs 1 bunker which occurs a lot times in Tpvp when trying to take a node. When you have 4 bunkers or 5 on a team it’s a automatic lost for a diverse squad even with the banner buff support warriors got. It still won’t be enough.
If you want to keep the effect of the banner hold the banner. What’s wrong with picking it up again before moving?
I think that banners and their possiblity to be picked up by allies has great options for team play.
Well what I don’t like is when I die I have to run to the spot where my banner was left off at instead coming back to when I rez at the starting I can pick it up from there.
It is teamplay, but team members would not carry the banner for long because they rather use their weapons skills instead of the banner skills. The same goes for the warrior wielding the banner. It’ll make sense if it was place on the their backs so that anyone near that warrior can receive the banner benefits.
Here’s a scene for ya
It’s bad when one of your teammates feel like grabbing the banner and running with it while you’re fighting an enemy on a node and they said I need this to take another node I’ll bring it back You’re like I need this too ,but they take it anyway leaving you with a did that person just really face.
You lose the banner benefits and if you die you have to go where ever your teammate drop you banner at if you’re skill is still on cool down. It’s much easier if it was to be placed on their backs. This leads to what I was saying in my previous post by adding more options when it’s on your back like F2, F3. and F4 skills only when the banner is on the warriors back.
Tell me about it like if you have 4 ele bunker on the same team then it’s automatic lost to those that has a diverse team. I saw this warrior stand no choice while his teammate mesmer left him. and Jon sharp says we don’t want to make them godly …..hah!
I think what would make banners more viable is to make it so when you use a banner skill, the banner is attached to your back. Placing a banner on the ground barely has any use, because fights in WvW seem to move around alot.
Idk i think it would be cool to be running around with 3 banners attached to my back.
That’s what I was thinking about today. If Anet wants warriors to use banners in pvp more in Tpvp.
A * give us F2 F3 F4 slots like mesmers for banners
B * place it on our backs so we can use our normal weapons
That way we don’t have to run all the way where we died at to pick it up if it’s on cool down.
Off Topic:
I would like this to apply to Engineers who die in combat that their turrets/ bombs disappears when they’re dead. Instead staying where they’re at for a long duration of time.
No but seriously, the most vocal people about this are folks using some hardcore furry terminology. That right there should tell you enough. It didn’t need to go there.
I didn’t want to put it like that but this is exactly the reason, fear that some of these forums people have their vision set towards and nothing else which is very sad.

I have to say after seeing her IG she really doesn’t look bad at all.
They did nail the cutesy charr look.
Problem is Rox’s appearance seems to clash allot with her personality, so it feels awkward.
Her voice sounds way too mature and serious to go along with that happy cat face.
Also the eyes could still be a tad smaller or a bit more closed.
Otherwise I do like the design and even the character overall so far.
Her voice was quite understandable for me because I knew it would of been similar to the female charr voice we play. They have big bodies after all so at her size something sounding close to a asura voice or human would not fit her character besides the cute look.
Also, why is it that Rox cannot wear mascara? Confused.
Also, for everyone complaining that Rox does not fit the Charr theme. Why does every Charr have to fit under a certain characteristic? Can there not be a variety??

Less out there than a big cat talking. This is a fantasy game and these are humanoid creatures. If they can walk around, talk, wear armor and clothing, why can they not wear make up?
Mascara is actually extremely sticky, sticky and fur do not go together, secondly, charr claws, mascara tubes, and eyeballs also don’t mix together. That just sounds like a recipe for disaster. As long as they don’t start all wearing makeup its fine though. And no lipstick. Unless its for parody use.

Confused about the apples and oranges comment? Are you saying that I am comparing apples to oranges? Because, I wasn’t comparing anything. I was stating that in a fantasy based game, anything is fair game for what is ‘far off’.
As for the mascara on fur, I agree, ‘it can happen in a video game’. This is a fantasy world, who knows how they make their mascara. Perhaps it is made with asuran technology? Who knows?
Also saw somewhere people talking about makeup on ‘animals’. Charr are a sentient humanoid race, so it is not exactly comparable. Humans are technically animals, as are Charr. The reason why putting makeup on ‘animals’ is so disgusting is because humans do it to them without their consent. Are you suggesting some human scientists in game were experimenting on the Charr?
This all just seems ridiculous.
I personally do not like the mascara on the Charr (however, I am not a fan of the race as a whole). I do support the idea of variation within a race. To assume monoculture in all non-human races is racist.
I was giving ya a reason about the apples and oranges syndrome because the person you was talking to was doing that. Calling Charrs animals ignoring the fact they’re not because they’re humanoids with animal like features.
I’ve even said about the make up idea on charrs most likely came from humans influence like charrs living in Lion’s Arch or adventurer charrs, but they do not want to believe that either. It doesn’t fit in their vision and probably never will.
It’s funny that some want to bring up other games anthros into this silly issue like worgens from WoW ignoring the fact that before they turned werewolves, They were humans so make up on them is understandable because some humans like to put make up on.

Either way, I truly wish that Arenanet doesn’t go too far down the “cuddly kitty cat” spectrum for a long time. Poor Rox has sparked quite the discussion and while discussing Charr aesthetics is very interesting, its not going to lead to Rox getting her eyeballs re-examined, you know?
Maybe they will on some faces and maybe they won’t because they have to please both crowds. So expect some cuddly kitty innocent look and expect mean grouchy grumpy kitty look.
No, not really. Charr are not humans, they are not bound by our beauty standards as humans, and it would be incredibly silly to force it onto them. I don’t think there’s many humans adopting charr standards of beauty either. But from an aesthetic standpoint, tribal-esque makeup would be more of a thing for charr, not this strange mascara thing that poor Rox has going on. Hoping that Anet doesn’t try too much more cute cuddly stuff for the charr.
I don’t think you caught on to what I mean influence, like some charrs might do it and some won’t sticking to their charr code. Tybalt didn’t have make up on, but he sure was a different attitude charr. I can say Charrs that were raised in Lion’s Arch probably would try it out more than Charrs from Black Citadel..
Looking at Rox she’s probably was a adventurous charr. Even though their isn’t enough background lore to know why she wanted to get eyelashes. We just know its on her. It’s a new approach after all.

Worgens are humans after all that’s their storyline. Charr storyline with makeup is influences from human culture I can predict since they’re trying to form a treaty. Yeah I know your type of vision with this stuff, but just think of it this way. Humanoids with animal like features because if they were animals then charrs would be rangers pets 24/7 that can only say meow or roar instead of For the legion / For great Justice!.

I get that bigger eyes = child appearance, however Rox doesn’t look like a cute young house cat, she looks like a poster anime child creature. It really does not fit with the style of GW2, it belongs in cute asian-themed games.

That doesn’t make sense..why would it be a permanent look when most likely it would be a extra option for the face selection.

Well she’s a charr after all and from what we understand their voices do get a little deep when they’re older. Now if she was a extremely young cub then maybe her voice would match her appearance.
Seeing Rox looking like an anime character made me think, “What if they decided to do this to the other races too?”
Although I don’t think the eyes need an overhaul, I do support sizing them down some and adding in new shades of colors to make the eyes look less flat. Currently, she really does look more anime than Arenanet-styled.

I get the feeling that people who are ok with Rox are people who aren’t huge charr fans. You’d hear outrage on the forums if Anet did this to a human NPC.

Helmets are okay, but is it possible we can get armor that let us show our hair? I haven’t came across anyway in game and not sure there are any at all.
I’m hoping the heavy armor head gear can look something similar to what Warden’s Mask looks like for medium armor or better.
Maybe if possible we can get a option if we want it to look like a headband piece or helmet. That would be a cool addition idea for the game.

Rox, the Charr has big eyes please reduce them, but I like the horns This should of been enough to what you and others wanted to express.
