The emotes of battle roar really fit the Charr. Unfortunately, most warriors would use “For Great Justice!” over battle roar for its superior boons. I suggest, for Charr warriors, to have an option to remove the emote of “For Great Justice” and switch it with Battle Roar, keeping the boons and range of “For Great Justice” but with the emotes of Battle Roar, or vice versa, unless you have both skills equipped. This would reduce the amount of times you have to hear “For Great Justice!” on the battlefield and allow some diversity (This would be disabled for PvP of course).

Do people in this thread only play hot join or something? There are quite a few top teams who run a warrior of some sort and a grenade or support engi. Pretty sure they’re not useless when played well. I’ve been see’n more and/or more of both classes (specifically engi) making splashes again.
I can say most players here are Spvp elitist more than Tpvp elitist. I know warriors have limited potential in pvp overall like a few other professions but they can be useful in pvp especially as stun control.
So exactly, how is this even remotely considered balance? It’s not luck getting 27k damage, separate encounters, but back to back mind you. Stealth…stealth…dead. So fun!

All jokes aside toughness only negates very little damage from glass cannons professions. If you’re not 2 shotted depending on health then you’ll be 4.5 shotted.
My Charr ranger went for Ash legion due to stealth and surprise attacks theme. I named her Bagi Natureclaw and called her pet Ryo hehe.
Plus her warband member name is Reeva and she’s a ranger profession as well.

Yea.. It’s kinda sad to see that WoW has better PvP than GW2 :/ WvWvW is nice but it got boring so incredible quickly..
WoW pvp is boring as well because there isn’t much variety in their pvp game besides having what? more battlegrounds and modes? It’s still the same thing and less with classes combination having a dedicated healer, dps or sometimes a tank spec in WoW’s pvp. There aren’t any hybrid specs either in that game anymore unlike you can do in GW2.
In WoW you have to be max level in order to feel balance in pvp. World pvp isn’t fun in WoW if you’re playing a low level toon getting farm by high levels. As for pvp gear in WoW you have to farm pvp gear for almost 1 month or more to be fully pvp gear. I’m referring to WoW’s arena gear because causal pvp gear takes about 1 week or 2 to be fully gear depending how much time you spend pvping.
In GW2 you don’t have to worry about leveling to max level since you can enter a pvp zone and become max level with max level gear except in WvW you have to be in your low level gear since it plays as a pve zone as well.
So if you really want to compare the two between WoW and GW2 pvp. Then you know GW2 wins by a long shot. The only way GW2 pvp loses in the pvp competition is not enough game modes and certain specs are viable in pvp. That’s pretty much about it for GW2 pvp because everything else is great and not time consuming as WoW.
You buy gems with money..that’s pretty much your monthly fee there. Plus the idea won’t work since they don’t do monthly fee and it’s on their advertisement. Why else would people buy this?
When they want to take a break from the game. They can always come back without worrying for the fact they don’t have to pay a “monthly fee” for it.
My point was that someone is going to get my money. I used to pay Blizzard a monthly fee, I now pay ArenaNet for gems, and if they don’t fix sPvP or make WvW, someone else is going to be next. I just want any devs who read this forum to know that my opinion is valuable because I’m a repeat paying customer.
I don’t know which part explains Spvp features, but it is in there. Have fun.

Wow…so make the other person suffer because they left even if it wasn’t their fault. That’s not nice and so what if they leave by rage quitting. It’s their lost and plus it just shows how much of a game player they are when the if they leaving cause of a 1 vs 1 situation. Now if the team was sucking then by all means please leave because no one should have to be frustrated and suffer with a team that isn’t trying their best besides standing still like ducks.

I think I’m pretty qualified to speak int his thread as someone who just last week got back into WoW. (sorry GW2, your endgame is lacking and pvp has grown stale after 5 months) I’m not thrilled about having to pay a monthly fee again but the varitey of PvP modes available (plus the sometimes frustrating, always exciting world pvp) are just staggeringly more enjoyable than gw2’s ONE pvp mode. I guess you could say 2, counting would vs world, which is fun but…again after 5 months of more or less the same thing it’s grown stale.
I know their priority is private servers (which will cost gold/gems to use, BTW) and after that spectator mode and matchmaking. But after that please, PLEASE work on new game modes.
How do you think World of Warcraft started up in the very beginning? It didn’t have endgames or battlegrounds at the start. However they did had world pvp, but that was the only pvp in the game before any new stuff came in afterwards which took about a year or so.
Anet already said they’re coming up with new ideas for pvp so that will come. You’re doing the right thing though if you don’t want to frustrate yourself through pvp and etc. Take a break for a while until changes comes and they will come.
To be honest I don’t see me ever going back to WoW for a while. The only time I’ll go back to it is when they upgrade their models and stuff so I can play around with it for a month or 2 and that’s it.

tired, old argument. What was wow’s competition when they released? Then compare GW2s competition when released. Just because wow took 2 years to add meaningful pvp doesn’t give every other game a 2 year pass as well.
Just like all industries, you have to deliver a product that is on-par with the competition at that time, not on par with the competition 10 years ago.
Sorry man but that’s how it is and you know GW2 will get better when they add more stuff to the game. As far as I know GW2 beats Wow in a lot of elements except end game and more pvp game modes. GW2 will get more pvp modes because that’s what they’re gearing for, but as for endgame I don’t really care too much about that crap. At low levels you can use Air attunement * or *Earth attunement if you leave heart of the mist using those attunements you can use them.

Sometimes logic can’t escape the inevitable. A good player that plays a mesmer will still take down the player with ease just by observing. You kill the clones and still take effect of damage and if you don’t kill the clones you still take damage either way through shatter or being attack by it.
Did I also mention that they have an invulnerable skill called Blurry frenzy that can’t be countered every 2 seconds on a 8second cool down when spec while every other profession have that ability and it happens to be a long cool down for them.

I’m not sure that that build is really anything like what I want to play o.o;;; The tactics tree isn’t even nearly maxed out, and I love banner regen and like the idea of support without being PURE support. I don’t really want to go full arms or dual wield, etc, either Dx I’ll look at it and see if there’s anything that I can learn from it all the same. Thank you for posting it ^^
No problem my build isn’t a support type at all if anything it’s more of a solo build. I am full condition warrior and dual wield sword is the way to go to keep your bleeds up along with rifle. It is quite a challenge but nevertheless condition warriors need more love.

I running with this build right now and it’s performance is pretty decent.
The Pvp runes I use is Undead,
Carrion Amulet mix with Rabid jewel.
Sigil of fire on main hand and minor corruption on offhand.

Direct damage > conditions. It will most likely be balanced in the future but for now, direct damage is superior

PvP or WvW?
Can’t make a proper assessment unless you clarify
This build is mainly for WvW.
For sPvP, I just change the Rifle to a main-hand Mace or an off-hand Mace depending on the situation and what classes I’m against. I also switch out [VII] to either [IV] or [V] in the Arms trait line.
Roaming or Zerging? Because if it’s Roaming; rifle is pretty obsolete
It is mainly for roaming.
I use the rifle for enemies that try to run away as well as enemies that are charging in with my Kill Shot and my Volley. I use Superior Sigil of Bloodlust on my shield which greatly increases my power, which in turn increases my rifle’s Kill Shot and Volley damage.
If I see an enemy from far away, I’ll harass them with my rifle until the fight gets close enough for my axe and shield to come into play.
The rifle makes them bleed which gives me 10% additional damage from Arms 25. Volley + 25 stacks of Bloodlust deals a ton of damage as well. Very helpful for incoming as well as fleeing enemies.
Sword would be better.
Sword is better, but rifle is pretty good for certain situation if the enemy trying to escape.

Adane is correct here. Toughness is the solution to glass-cannon burst builds.
You are also correct about 2 shotted vs. 3 shotted in the most extreme cases. However, you underestimate how much of a difference this makes in PvP. This is the difference between having 2 lives and 3 lives. That extra life buys you enough time to dodge, heal, retreat, retaliate, stealth, block, etc.

1. Nerf or Remove Haste

4. Tone down bunkersThese have been the 4 issues ignored most by any designer. So yes I honestly believe that the players would do better in balancing based on vote than the designers currently are ABSOLUTELY without a doubt.
Because these are the 4 things that would make the game more enjoyable for everyone and not just 3 classes.

Likely cause there is one or two folks doing it as a side project for all the other more important things… like wintersday and… that kinda of stuff.Things will get better. the classes now are pretty well balanced in the overall scheme but there are certainly some that are much easier to play.

They were monsters and uncivilised and all of a sudden, mostly friendly, allies and friends to other races.I don’t have a Charr, I want to bring myself to play one, mainly because of Pyre. But there will always be part of me that hates, yes hates, the Charr past and the current Flame Legion. My humans sword is stained with the blood of many Charr.

Not really and it’s not whining at all. It’s pretty much the truth that there isn’t much variety of builds that can’t do well play in pvp overall. Unless you can prove it in every paid tournament you do while recording it. If you can’t do that than your statement here is pretty much useless and in everything you’re just telling us shut up.
Simply not true:
1) Chieftain Ninjas, PZ and Team Paradigm have been running 1-2 Rangers the last few days and it works just fine.
2) Team Paradigm has been running Engi instead of Thief (which is used in most lineups) forever and it seems to work.
3) A lot of Top-Tier Teams have been toying around with full glass-cannon lineups and although they’ve played it for fun, it did quite well.
4) Onibawan runs Magz as Warrior quite often and he does well.
5) Forsaker from Team Royal Legion runs a D/D Power-Necro on certain Maps and it does well.
6) Supernova Jpn (I don’t know how active they are now), used to run an offensive Greatsword-Guardian as a Roamer in 90% of the games I saw of them and Mad Fury of SpNv ran a Greatsword/Rifle-War almost every game (and they were both one of the best Teams in GW1 as well as a Team with their owns playstyle and builds).
7) Team Paradigm even ran lineups without Mesmer but with a Node-def Guardian, pretty much during the time they were most dominating and where a lot of good teams still played GW2.
8) Just a few weeks ago, Teams on the EU-Server have been starting to run an Ele as a Bunker that offensively pushes to the opponents node and keeps it neutral. Now it’s considered extremely strong and is run by like 90% of the teams on EU. I’m sure it’s strong, but it can also be countered quite hard, so we’ll probably see a metagame-shift on EU very soon, probably with some new builds we haven’t seen before.Also, there are tons of builds for every class, that could work in tpvp, if they are in the right lineup, on the right map and played well, ppl just like to stick to what works and what they’re used to.
As I said before and what Defektive was saying from the very start. What you just listed isn’t many builds at all that and only can be viable / acceptable in
Tpvp. You see these same builds in Spvp all the time, but do you ever see a lot of dual wield warriors or pistol / pistol thieves in Tpvp or in general? Not really and we also don’t see many other professions using different weapons / builds as well when it comes to pvp primarily.
This is why this topic and many others are brought up here in these forums. We players want to branch out and represent our builds and show that all specs can be viable in pve and pvp. We know there will be pros and cons, but it’s a lot better than being the same old cookie cutter builds we have to choose to be viable in pvp.
So Anet has a lot of work to do now if they want to make a spot for themselves in esport.

If they added death matches every game would be 20 seconds long with almost no depth to it. There are no healers so you don’t do things like swapping and CCing to setup kills. It’s just spam damage into someone and kill them.
Imo reverse CTF would fix this whole game.
To pick up the flag you have to channel for 3 seconds.
Person with the flag has no attack besides flag ones which may just be like, aoe cripples etc.
Bunkers protect flag.
Roamers escort flag / carry flag.
I don’t see how that would be any better than conquest. It would just be zerg the flag carrier, and peel for the flag carrier.
Conquest with these secondary objectives provides a lot of depth to the game that hasn’t been explored yet. The community is fairly small so most people are in the mindset that you are “required” to have different classes/builds, or run certain strats.
Simply stated, if they aren’t going to make big changes to the classes themselves, then new gametypes are needed, on a random rotation for tPvP.
Map 1 could be standard conquest,
Map 2 CTF
Map 3 Assassinate the preferred target aka, kill the main chosen enemy and you get a point. 5 points to a win.Force people to pick builds that compliment a number of scenarios rather than a set map rotation.
Then don’t allow them to changes traits between matches. Now suddenly when one team innovates in one of the three areas, other teams have to change accordingly.

No offense, but that’s a terrible idea. You should be able to change comps between different maps, let alone different game modes.
Having different game modes also makes balancing a lot harder.
while i’ll agree with you that having different game modes in a rotating manner, within one tpvp matchup doesn’t sound good, I disagree about implementing new game modes.
Honestly what’s the harm it will do? You say make balancing harder but in what way?
The worst it will do is bring complaints about why it’s not that fun. From there, Anet can just temporarily disable that game mode.
You can’t be so quick to make assumptions without experiencing something to come to a solid conclusion.
Personally, I believe only the rating system is needed immediately, followed by variety.
Give people a way to sort the goods from the bads, and expand the game to bring in new blood who are interested to play. Then when the community is large enough put in custom’s and spectator.
We don’t need a spectator mode when we can’t even break 500 viewers (as a game) on twitch of all places.
Even with a rating system it’ll never separate the goods from bad players. Even bad players can manage to get high ratings so there is no escape with that stuff.
Wait… have you even played Guild Wars 1? More than half of the asura characters in GW1 had hair. Hell, even the first ever concept art for asura had hair. You’re way off.
They had hair in GW1, but said hair was black tufts held up by fancy pieces of cloth. It blended in nicely with their earthy look. The Guild Wars 2 hair is rediculous—human styles, human colors…. makes them look like kids from that show Toddlers & Tiaras, only deformed.

The skill isn’t bugged. The tooltip is wrong. EP is only 3 second duration now, by design. It was in the patch notes.
The lack of defensive boons warriors have I think it’s best if they can rework the tooltip for EP making it last 7 seconds and also increasing Frenzy skill by 2 seconds when spec for Sure-footed. Last Refuge is not OP, it’s kittenty. 90% of the time, gets you killed in PVP. Today for example, happened 3 matches in a row. I would survive those encounters wasn’t for this kittening trait getting me revealed whenever I used C&D to recover some HP.
How much Hp do you have? Seems like you got low hp.
