This info is coming out more and more, including on reddit. I would like to know what Anet is doing about it.
In your case, which is incredibly specific and the result of in-your-face obvious advance knowledge, it would be quite easy to track the accounts of those that bought the crossing. They could check out what other stuff they bought shortly before other patches came out. If the pattern is similar, terminate the account and investigate the chat history.
The cost of crafting a satchel is identical to making the 6 individual armor items it creates when opened. The cost of creating a satchel recipe is high. This tells you that the design purpose of satchels was the ability of selling armor more easily on the market, not the use of satchels by the creator. As celestial gear is account bound on creation and can therefore not be sold, there is no point in adding a celestial satchel to the game.
I found out yesterday too. There’s a thread on the crafting forum about this as well. Sent an email to the exploit address, and notified support. I really hope they address this soon as I dare not continue with crafting without clarification on the matter.
You mean, I should build my character so that it ignores the core of its class mechanic?
If I wanted to do that, I could just as well switch to my thief or my mesmer. They will always outshine my ranger in that setup, doing more damage and providing more group utility than my ranger could ever dream to accomplish.
guys,
my opinion is that since noone but legendary owners up to now have ascended stats on the weaponBut I am an engineer, and I have ascended stats, so I want ascended kit!
Here, I said it.:P
I dedicated a thread to this basic design flaw. Every pet class is duped by the introduction of the ascended tier. A ranger’s pet is designed to do 30 to 50% of his damage. That’s why his base weapon damage is so horribly low.
So the ranger crafts ascended weapon to increase his horrible base damage. Happy ranger! But what about the other 50% of his damage – the pet – that remains the same? Sad ranger.
Same with the engineer class. It’s a fundamental design flaw that should have been addressed. (But then again, what’s the point, you never get to see your shiny ascended weapon anyway!).
I also wrote a response to this in the thread you’re referring to (called “25 percent movement speed”). They should merge these two threads.
My experience with these runes is different, but I’m open to comments from the more experienced mesmers out there.
I juked/stealthed/ran away from 4 JQ just 15 mins ago, and did so for quite a while (they did end up catching me in the end, kitten buggers
).
My guild leader would have killed me himself if I stayed away from the group that long. That said, if you run a condition build and you roam alone in WvW most of the time, I agree this rune could be interesting in certain situations. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I’m certainly not the most experienced mesmer out there (although I do have quite a bit of experience under my belt in the world that is called WvW).
Why was the pet damage of pet classes (e.g. ranger, engineer, necro) not buffed?
Let’s take the ranger example. His pet is supposed to do 30 to 50% of his overall damage. That’s why his base weapon damage was designed to be so atrociously low.
However, it also means that a ranger with an ascended weapon is only half ascended. The other half of his damage, done by his pet, remains the same.
Therefore, for a non-pet class, the upgrade to an ascended weapon is up to twice as great as for a pet class.
This seems to be a fundamental design flaw introduced with the ascended weapon tier. Your thoughts on this are very much appreciated.
I have a bad feeling that this is just going to be there answer to Mesmer movement concerns.
Well at least its a slight step up from runes of centaur as we don’t have to blow our heal anymore but its still not really good….
But that’s just it. In practice, I don’t think it’s better. It’s only better for a few select occasions. For most builds, and during 95% of your playtime, Centaur runes are better hands down. I’ll take my chances on those few occasions where I blew my heal too soon. Those rare occasions do not justify the overall decrease in damage and decrease in speed 95% of the time.
But again, that’s probably just me being silly. I must have missed the memo or something. I’m pretty sure there are more knowledgeable mesmers out there that could give their insights on this.
Call me silly, but now having both a centaur rune set and traveler runes set, I still prefer the centaur runes for both WvW and PvE. There must be something wrong with me, given the current prices. On paper, the traveler runes look nice. And sure, you don’t have to time your heals anymore, that’s great and all. Yet in practice, with centaur runes, I run a lot faster and I consistently do more damage. Maybe these runes are good for sPvP?
I love them. Completely. Well done devs.
I would like to know this as well. I just tested it with cores and with shards, nothing changed in the recipe, just the price of the elonian wine. You don’t get more from upgrading lodestone pieces.
This will make cores of even less value than they already were. Plus I invested in them to make my second legendary. Please revert this bug. While you’re at it, make the wine cheaper if you want to make the lodestone economy healthier. Not more expensive. The current pricing will pump lodestone prices to absurd levels, while making the pieces obsolete.
I’m fairly sure at least legendaries will level along, either automatically or by a simple MF recipe.
They said Legendaries are currently best in slot. They said nothing about it being best in slot for level 90.
It has been stated the Legendaries will always be on par with BiS, by several people at Anet. They have been asked many times, because of the concern you bring up.
Just as Legendaries are being boosted from exotic to ascended with these updates, should they add additional tiers if/when they boost the level cap, Legendaries will again get the stat boosts.
Yes. Level 80 Legendaries will always be on par with level 80 best in slot.
Level 90 Legendaries will always be on par with level 90 best in slot.See how that works?
This is correct.
In almost every game, a level cap increase will reduce the gear you own as obsolete. The only items that retain any value are items that were availble only temporarily, like skins or minis. This is not gloom and doom, it’s always been like that.
A level cap increase is horrible. Shrouded by flashy new content, it’s the epitome of grind. A forced “fresh start” you never asked for, and never wanted in the first place. The person that can bug/grind their way to the “new level cap” will have the advantage, whereas it will take months for the rest to catch up. Why? Because all the methods they used will be patched by the time you are halfway there, too.
[And in the meantime, you find stuff out like “huh, you need to be level 90 to craft the new legendary precursor and sell it on the TP? But I’m only level 85? How did they get there so fast! And why is it selling for so much? And how did they get all these tier 8 materials so fast, that shouldn’t be possible? Huh, what, it’s because of a buggy node in that level 90 area I can’t visit yet?” Etcetera]
Level caps are a grinder’s dream, and the nightmare of anyone who owns more than one character. Or anyone that has a job and a family, basically.
Clarification: you make 5 of them with that recipe. Not one. Now do your calculations again.
You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!
Naa, it’s probably still a waste. I only bought it to keep my flamethrower spree going last night. I personally didn’t know about the account bound thing though, which is why I was sharing it here.
For some classes, like the ranger, power scales differently. Because the pet is supposed to do half of his damage, at least, that was the initial thought behind it. That’s why in PvP, you used to see a lot of condition rangers, as condition damage doesn’t scale.
I’m quite interested what this stat combo will do for pet classes. It might actually better than zerker.
I levelled my lvl 20 engineer to lvl 37 in the gauntlet last night using this baby. Amongst other buffs, I used a killstreak booster, so I had to salvage continously while killing veteran destroyers at the same time. A neverending salvage kit was very useful for this purpose.
Oh, and contrary to the pick/sickle/axe, this baby is account bound, which means you can use it on all your characters.
I bought too many of them, thinking I’d need more for Liadri. Moreover, they took a “rare loot” spot in the loot tables. Therefore, I assume we will we be able to vendor them after this event?
Some advance knowledge would really be appreciated. I’m asking this to prevent another incident like we did with the voting tickets.
Exotics. If you have 8 characters, you should have acquired some black lion salvage kits by now. Look on the TP for exotics that have the same price as the sigil or rune on it. Use buy orders. When the buy order is filled, salvage and sell the rune/sigil and ectos you gained from salvaging. Normally, this should net you a small profit, plus you get the item you need. Rince and repeat until you have enough.
Champions: join the champion train in Frostgorge sound for 3 hours. You should have enough bags by then. Join a group. Find the commander on the map, move along with the train and press /say lfg. Usually, you’ll get an invite in no time. Champion bag drops are not affected by DR. Trust me, you are guaranteed to get it if you are in a group and can keep up with the speed of the group (it’s really fast paced, and it involves a lot of fast waypointing. One missed jump and the boss is down before you can hit it.). You may not like to do it in this manner, but it’s better than being frustrated that you can’t get the items in the way you want them. Three hours should net you enough bags for an ascended weapon – maybe 1 hour will actually be enough.
Nodes: Nodes are not your biggest problem. If I read your post correctly, your problem is the lack of drops, rather than the movement of nodes. I had the same problem as you. At one point, I had enough of it, and learned how the TP and profitable crafting worked (rule of thumb: cheap + quantity over pricy + quality). It took me 2 days. That was time well invested. I earned tons in the meantime, and never had to worry about coin again. Now, I don’t want to tell you how to play, but I’m telling you that I, having suffered the same problem as you in the past, fixed it in this manner. Using your brain, you can earn more coin than the 24-7 farmers. It’s really not that hard in the end. But it’s your call.
Considering this bad boy will drop ascended weapons, I think you will be lucky if you’re not stuck in the overflow once Teq. is up. Seriously. I think people will wait 30 minutes in advance inside the zone to get a guaranteed spot when the event pops.
I’m just wondering: folowing the next patch, is there any land-based legendary weapon left that does not have footfalls, other than the flameseeker prophecies?
You took a huge risk investing everything in t6 mats. I really hope for you that prices won’t plummet. We haven’t seen the full patch notes yet. Anet may still have some surprises lined up, you really never know.
Nonetheless, it’s an impressive collection of materials, I’ll give you that.
(edit: and I hope for you that they won’t nerf the champion bag loot tables! Moreover, we don’t know if the new ascended mats drop from champion bags, or from the Champions themselves. We’ll find out tomorrow
)

It was. Several expensive things in fact.
That’s better than not getting your money back when cancelling a buy order. I’m waiting for 15 minutes now, still nothing.
Same here. Plus i haven’t received my gold from removing a buy offer on a precursor (120 gold).
Yea I’m not getting my money back from cancelling my TP orders either.
That’s better than what just happened to me. Cancelled some very expensive buy orders, not getting my money back. Nothing. Also not after relogging. Or restarting my PC. If this is lag, it’s taking VERY long.
Except that the exotics won’t be flowing much after the patch. No more gauntlet, no more coordinated wave killing, just people locking them up in an instance that produces… baubles. That are used for account bound skins. Which need a weapon. And a sigil.
Yes and no. The amount of forging will barely keep up with the amount of sigils and runes in newly crafted ascended items. I don’t think people will destroy their old weapons/armor for the sigils/runes, most will use new ones. And as the price of exotics will rise due to dark matter salvaging, so will the sigils and runes on them.
Given the disparity in value between MF gear and Sentinel gear, no, it really can’t.
To you, it can’t. To people selling zerker gear, it can’t either. To Arenet, all stats are – and should be – the same. And since the equipment will be account bound, the item will have no market value.
Plus, it’s all a gamble anyway.
No they didn’t state that. Source or it never happened.
There does appear to be a test server.
There is a test server
You just dont have access. Its meant for in house testers and a select few from the beta pool.

RNG. Still blew all my gems on them. They’re just too good.
Didn’t those testers sign a very hard non-disclosure agreement?
Edit: in case the video linked above gets deleted, it was posted by “Dontain” from “Get crit”. Or at least that’s what he says in the video. Never heard of the guy, but perhaps others know more.
(edited by Buttercup.5871)
Yes they remain tradeable. Provided you bought them with jade tickets after the last patch.
They said it can be converted ‘any other crafting stat’. Sentinel gear can be crafted, just not the insignia.
This can go either way.
Wow. That’s horrible. What was the highest offer?
We have enough cash cows in the game already. Everything I wanted, I could already buy, including legendaries.
For once, let there be skins that I can’t buy. It’s healthy.
Can’t buy a fractal weapon skin, can you?
Hopefully I won’t have to take Tylenol every time I run SAB again, is the motion sickness problem fixed? Judging by the amount of bubbles I need to grind, maybe I should go buy a new bottle of Tylenol just in case.
You can’t solo high level fractals. That’s why I said account bound if it can be achieved solo.
No matter… since I currently don’t use gear with the infused upgrade slots I don’t know much about it.
I don’t have infusions on my weapons either.
I do use sigils, however. Very nifty little buggers. Used to be very expensive, if I recall correctly. You know, before we “suddenly” got flooded with new exotics carrying a truckload of them. I wonder why that was implemented? Mmmmm.
Must have been a coincedence.
Vol, you forgot to mention that the sky will fall and we’ll all be doomed.
You need to sell your gems between tomorrow (because F&F dyes) and the next patch (because Vol’s reasons). It’s not that hard to figure out.
Oh, and while you’re at it, think about what people need after they crafted their ascended weapons for once. You’re all focusing on what materials are needed to craft ascended weapons, speculating like mad, but you’re not focusing on the obvious. What does anyone need after they crafted a weapon? (except for the obvious: love, peace on earth, and pizza).
C’mon you can do this, think harder!
No, not pizza. I like pizza too though. Pizza is nice. Mmmmmm. Pizza
Think of the upgrade slot silly!
The rangers loved Robert. Robert was always helpful to them, when all other devs kept silent. I can’t comment on his other qualities, as I don’t know enough about them. But at least he communicated when no one else would.
We have enough cash cows in the game already. Everything I wanted, I could already buy, including legendaries.
For once, let there be skins that I can’t buy. It’s healthy.
Don’t be silly, you could whack that boss in 3 shard feedings.
Generally took me a couple of minutes.
If that is the case, then please make the skins account bound. I loved not caring one iota anymore about coin when trying to beat Liadri. I gave up trading completely until I beat her, which was very refreshing. For once, getting an item was only about skill. It’s a big leap forward in the right direction.
To whoever listed the fused rifle just now: I love you. The price is a little too ambitious, but at least now I know it’s not bugged.
The Pony Bow, how on earth can that be seen as anything but overrated..it doesn’t fit in this game even a tiny bit..
[…] I know they’re wrong, wait and see;
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection
The the lovers, the the dreamers and me.
Ehhhm, did you enjoy defeating the toad boss solo? That frog had a metraton of health, it was designed for a group, not for solo mode.
John, will there be a solo mode of the tribulation difficulty? I really hope so! If that is the case, I would hope the skins are not tradeable. If it’s a forced group setting, I hope they will be.
It’s not the only one that is bugged. You should be able to place a buy offer on a fused pistol, check the TP. However. Also check how the system will instantly return the bid amount to you once it is placed. And not via the TP as pickup coin, but as dropped coin on the right of your screen. That’s why there are no bids. Because you can’t place it! I bet that’s why it can’t be sold, either.
(edited by Buttercup.5871)
Right now, it appears as if someone posted a fused pistol skin. The option to place a buy order is therefore available.
However.
If I actually try to place a buy order on the fused pistol, my coin is returned to me instantly. It shows up on the side of the screen as coin received. So the bid is placed – and the money of the bid is returned to me instantly. It is bugged. I hope this didn’t happen to the rifle as well, as it’s beyond suprising that no one is trying to sell it.
