For some reason, Frenzy does not work on downing people. Your character goes through the action as if they’re downing a player, but that player isn’t finished, and it’s kind okittenward when you’re just standing there…
in legend of zelda Oot when link pulls the sword out of the stone/puts it back in…
Anet made a new condition, so why not have a new boon introduced? and there’s more conditions than boons
as all ele players know, the class has a ridiculous amount of access to Fire Shield primarily and I was thinking that since we have a good amount of aura accessibility with traits/skills, auras should get a little buff. The only time i see auras used of course is in pvp or wvw roaming.
Shocking aura is pretty good, though it’d be nice if it lasted a couple seconds longer than 4 seconds. You’re only getting 2 stun in, and even then it’s unlikely. But im not saying 25 seconds is a long cooldown, but i think shocking aura would be nice if it lasted 5-6 secs or so. That doesn’t sound too crazy, does it?
Frost Aura – It does have a longer cool down, but here’s what I had in mind for the skill:
– Increase the duration of it to 10 seconds, rather than 7 just because 7 seems like a weird number lol
– OR leave the duration as is and increase the armor reduction to 15% (might be a little much, maybe at 12%) And you are immune to burning while it’s up. kinda like this…

Fire Shield
– Fire’s Embrace trait: it’s a good trait with signets, but 3 seconds is kinda low for fire shield, plus it doesn’t even burn for a lot of damage. Maybe if Fire’s Embrace was upped to 5 seconds, then it might be more considerable…Just for the fun of it, I threw together a pure condition d/f test pve ele and with 25 corruption/25 might(highly unlikely) fire shield will deal a total of 5.7k damage over 5 seconds If struck. Burning seems to do less damage than bleeds. Personally, when I think of it, burning is supposed to hurt a ton more than bleeding. But maybe burning damage could get upped a little bit, just for things like fire shields/ fire fields.
Also, i was thinking that once you activated Fire Shield then swapped to Water attunement, it would make Fire Shield apply blind to enemies attacking you for a short time.
Spirit weapons aren’t actually that bad in pvp
I have not seen a single axe ranger in pvp in a long time…is it just another one of those lack luster weapons?
dont use that trait with icebow… Piercing shards, imo, is more for like a zerker-spike burst dmg build
frost bow is NOT for condo stacking. the best you’ll get is a decent amount of +x% chill duration from frost bow. But just don’t even go like that. Frownyclown is right. You’ll get curb-stomped then rofl-stomped and then pooped on
if u wanna go leeroy Jenkins, then go all zerker gear and then whirl with axes + frenzy for Leroy

Get 5+ warriors in wvw to run condi duration gear + power trait line with throw bolas. that’s about 8 sec immobilize per bola! in total, you could have one necro go epidemic and give nearby enemies that 40 sec immob
Say you’re using Fire axe with the trait Piercing Shards. Will you get the +20% damage bonus while in water attunement if you’re attacking your target while they are vulnerable?

Conjures might be a little better if they were on a longer timer rather than charges. But I like the changes that’ve been made to them so far. Especially Fire axe and earth shield.
But other than FGS, i’ve seen a few eles use earth shield or fire axe in a match and they did quite well and generally, elementalist has pretty good survivability, but it can be hard to balance with dps/defense

Don’t stick with traditional builds…mix it up. come up with something else rather than the common d/d zerker build or s/d… see if you can make something work with traits you haven’t used as much.
Play around with the elementalist.

Is the staff viable in 1v1s? Does the scepter have a sustained damage option without going Fresh Air squishy super burst?

You really, really can’t run a support weapon in a 1v1. It doesn’t work like that. It’s called support for a reason.
Empower Allies really doesn’t get used in Pvp too much… Shout builds are amazing in a 3+ warrior group, especially with this patch and warrior’s sprint is only so useful…

Or even if Legacy of the Foefire were to have a size expansion. Make both the bases a bit more fortified and more siege-able, make the quarry larger and include a few dredge that once you cap it, they join your team

It would be like a King of the Hill-type match and no you wouldn’t be able to just sit on the trebs/cannons 24/7. whenever the point pops up for the area, then you can use em.

I hope im not the only one who’s used these…in an actual fight… AND WON.
I like steady weapons and think that they should get used more often…just for kicks
for example, A while ago I ran steady axe/shield on my warrior and went 14 in all traits, divinity runes, and celestial amulet and jewel. I joined a tourney group and trolled my team cuz i had nothing else better to do at the time :P
But I think that the steady weapons should be made part of a recipe because of purple text looking like Pve legendaries… Should Pvp get more pvp recipes or somthin like that? I’m sure at one point or another, legendary skins are getting added to Pvp though.
it really sucks when you don’t have HoM and you cant get those extra points for skins/rewards etc. Along with that, getting achievement points is super hard. Or is it just me?
I actually went and did as many Slayer categories as I could and that gave me a nice boost and I completed all my JP’s. I yet have to finish all dungeons and paths, but im getting there. And the weapon kill categories seem like they’d take ages.
God knows pvp holds some juicy achievements points, but that takes longer than anything.
I’m not such an active Wvw player either and theres no way I’m diving into those categories. :P But i try to do as many community/local achievements, but some just take a while, like the consumables or costume brawls…

Some people are just like bots, the patch notes might say “buffed warrior shouts” that people will only read “buffed warrior ****” and go like “WAT YOU BAFFED OP WARRIO WHAT YOU SMOKE ARENA”Whether you like it or not a buff, is still a buff. This buffs can potentially add more to the warrior repertoire, the ele only dreams of that having more than a couple of below average builds.

No one uses shouts. Just compare warrior’s shouts to guardian’s. Just because a class has a complete broken spec does it mean other options can’t be reworked? Not to mention an hypothetical shout build needs it’s own set of traits.

Nobody uses shout builds now, but whose to say it wont get better after the buff. Right now nobody plays the elementalist and yet we wont get any reasonable buffs. After this patch? that wont change at all.
Right now in the PvP scene, the elementalist is not even on the guest or even servant list.

I really, REALLY dislike the Scythe skin for Staff. It’s a scythe, not a spell-caster kiter…
I think a melee scythe should act like axe mainhand, landing 2 hits for the first chain, 1 for the 2nd and 1 devastating Aoe attack for end-chain.
Chain 1 might inflict weakness
Chain 2 might inflict poison
Chain finisher might inflict vulnerability(3-4stacks) and 1 stack of torment
I think I’d rather use Elemental Surge and fire off an Arcane Blast at about 1.9 seconds into the cast. Because most people will dodge at 2 seconds, and you can catch them before they do that way. Maybe combined with Lightning Flash…or Arcane Power, Elemental Surge and Lightning Flash to teleport to them and immobilize them at the same time…and then get a garatueed crit on the Churning Earth as well…

lightning hammer, earth shield and FGS are the best conjure weapons imo, but they do feel clunky and take up space…Though it’d be cool if conjures got offhand weps too. Not just mainhand. Equip Fireaxe and Earth Shield plox!

this is just an example build, but with this, you can land churning earth on your target easier, given that they don’t condi cleanse. and when/if you do land it, the moment churning earth goes off, go into water attunement and launch arcane wave+arcane blast and see how much damage it does…4 seconds should be more than enough time to do all that, hopefully.

then how are you supposed to get new gear/ materials. No1 is going to want to wait to do their dailies/monthlies or do tourneys for stuff. that takes too long. plus, the skyhammer farming is really for players who just want to rank up as fast as possible. It’s hardly any different than following big chain events in Pve for massive xp with buffs.
Plus, skyhammer farming obviously isn’t for serious dedicated tpvp’ers. It kills their win ratio on leaderboard, and yes, though leaderboard has its issues and has had some adjustments to it since its release, it still needs some improvement i think.
I like glory. I think it fits pvp well and on top of that, It just sounds kinda awesome.

and also, warrior prolly makes the best orb runner with all their movement skills. Though elem with focus #5 in earth attunement is easily more “OP” at getting the orb than guardian is…
