For a bulldozer at almost 5ghz, to compare it to any other Amd chip and say “they are up to it” is a bit laughable. Also, 25 fps in big zergs is not good for a chip thats almost oc to 5 ghz. My 3930k gets 45 at the lowest in big zergs at even 4.5ghz. Also what the hell is “smooth as butter?” 60-70fps? Thats horrible. My intel at the same speed as your amd gets me average 100 fps. 60 in big DEs and in lions arch with everything set at max and supersampling. Come now… 25 fps with an amd at almost 5ghz and you think this is bragging on Amd chips? Lol. Its not buddy.

You should learn to realize that these cpu’s are meant to be overclocked.And also,i can run this cpu at 4.4 and get about the same fps,i just like to oc.And what you find laughable is something i dont care much about.Btw,i also dont care what your fps is ,since i didnt ask for it.You are the one bragging,i wasn’t.I was merely replying to someone that the latest Amd cpu’s are very capable of running this game without any major fps problems.Reading is hard,isn’t it ?

You make 999 screenshots in a short amount of time ? The hell are you doing ? Cant you better make a vid of what youre trying to do ? Otherwise…isnt it simple enough to just drag those screens out the folder ( no need to rename ) And put them in a different folder ( Screens2 )….

AMD’s recent cpu’s are just not up to performance standards.

Im running the game smooth as butter with a 4.8 oc fx 8120.Lowest fps in wvwvw is around 25.They are Very up to performance standards

This is normal buddy,nothing you can do about it,all if not most people suffer from lower fps then expected when having a rather high end spec system.we need to deal with it untill arenanet fix the culling issue,wich is most likely the cause.

Bummer,sorry dude i wish had more knowledge of networking.You can try this tweak i mentioned earlier that brought my ping ( and hundreds of other people ) down with about 50 – 75 ( some even more ) and got rid of the delays i had,back in aion that is.

I dont know if you are familair with editing or adding keys in the registry,if not follow this closely to not make any mistakes.

1)Go to Start,Run,type Regedit ( now you’re in the registry )
2)On the left side click on HKEY _LOCALMACHINE_
3)Click on System
4)Click on CurrentControlSet
5)Click on Services
6)Click on TcPip
7)Click on Parameters
8)Click on Interfaces
9)Now you will see 2 folders, ( see screenshots below) but only one holds your network info.The one with all settings in it starting with Addresstype etc etc is the one you need to edit.
10)Right click on that folder wich holds all your network info,and then select New – DWORD (32bit) Value.

You will now see a new Value in that folder,right click on it and Rename it to TcpAckFrequency .Then rightclick on it,and select Modify,under Value Data you will have to enter 1 for it to be effective ( hexadecimal) . It needs to look exactly like screenshot 2.Press ok and reboot your pc.

Please let me know if this worked out.

I really suggest to be carefull using these things..Do you want to end up losing your account over the RMB ? You got no official response,thats mean its Not allright to use it,otherwise they would have said so,so the possibility of this being seen as an exploit,hack,is pretty big,and when they do detect it,dont be surprised to see you get banned though.

You are entirely missing the point…its not about Us being greedy and not wanting to spend real money,and its not about us not having enough money for it.Its about the principle of not wanting to spend real money on Event items,things like that should be obtainable for Everybody Ingame,with doing Event quests and such.Not for the few that are willing to spend Real money on Event items,its pretty simple..if you’re willing to read.

What are you even complaining about ? You can play the game fine as it is the way i see it,do you realize there are people here that play the game with 5 – 15 fps Everywhere they go ? You complain about having 40 – 50 ? The game needs some optimization,as shown in the hundreds of threads available about this issue,we know this,nothing you can do about it right now.Btw,just keep everything at HIGH,Lod to Ultra,and only turn down reflections to either off,or terrain sky only.Theres something wrong with reflections.Perf hit is to big for what it does.

Hm thats pretty bad,not much you can do about it but to tell the people to stop using bandwith when your playing guild wars,but i guess thats out of the option aswell right ? This is just exactly the case with my previous ISP,it got me so frustrated. I have some commands for you to reset winsock,flush dns ,reset tcp/ip etc.

After this step,reboot your pc.Then go on with 2.

3)ipconfig /renew

Reboot your Pc again.

Reboot your pc again.

See how your internet is now,and how guild wars plays out,i still have a small registry tweak left,wich did help me when i still had that crappy isp,it lowered my ping in Aion from around 150 to a stable 30 – 40. But ill let you give that ago when youve tried the above steps.

Yeah that sucks buddy i know,maybe you can call your isp and explain when you start to lag,maybe they can see where the problem lies.And If not then i really suggest to start looking for a proper isp asap.

btw are there other games you play aswell,multiplayers ? Especially Fps ? Meaning you can test your connection by playing a fps,let someone use your second pc,and watch your ping rise.

And btw ,whats more fun..buying your event item straight away from the shop..or having to earn it while doing specific event quests and such ? Doesnt it just remove the whole principle of the evrnt if you can simply buy this stuff ?

I honestly think..when having events and such its a absolute SHAME to have to make use of your cashshop to be able to get an event item like a weaponskin.And for one,i will not use this,i really refuse to pay real money for an event you guys put up in the first place and should be all obtainable ingame,with doing quests and dungeons and missions and such.Not by simply paying cash to get a chest and get your event item…Its just wrong.

The way i put it up sounds like i hate cashshop alltogether,no thats not the case.I understand they can use the extra money,i already made u se of the cashop btw.Its just that paying money for an event item is not something i will ever do,since imo they should just be obtainable ingame,without having to make use of real money.

Good thread! I think they should really really pay attention to how much people have DX11 cards,and should implement this option when seeing how many people would benefit from this option.

And becoming extremely dissapointed with mmo’s in general,thinking back to gw1 all the time and seeing how awesome that game was in every way,i couldnt hesitate to buy gw2 asap.And eventhough gw2 has it flaws,it still left the best experience from all mmo’s i played after gw1.

I dont get why people complain about the DEs,they are awesome for most parts and Do have a story to tell if you’re willing to hang around.It can be a zerg, ( Orr mostly ).I do agree about how easy most events are though,they should increase the difficulty on alot of events,i really agree on this.Other then that,after not having played for about 2 weeks i was having alot of fun yesterday doing some low lvl events eventhougj im 80 already,and forgot track about time aswell…Need to go to work soon aswell in a couple of mins..but i really rather fire up gw2 at this point…sigh.

wvw and big events and places where hundreds of players are packed in one small spot creates lag and loss of fps in Every mmo.Gw2 is no exception and i think you people wanting lag free gameplay in a situation like this is rather unrealistic.Offcourse you have high fps when you play solo,and it plummets like hell in mass pvp situations.just imagine Any Singleplayer game with high graphics you know of,and imagine it being played with hundreds of players in the same spot,would it lag or not ?

i know the Cuda switch does nothing,not sure about Umbra havent tested it since i got no perf problems at all,might try it later out.But i did read some positive comments from people about it,But again it can be just a placebo effect

The one post by GaileGray in that thread does not actually say the FOV mod is not allowed, it says it is under discussion.

So what gives? Why would changing something in GW2 that’s configurable in many other multiplayer games be cause for a ban?

Is larger FOV considered to be a cheat? If so, does that not mean a multi-monitor setup that enlarges FOV is also a cheat?

Because there are hacks out there that can be found using a similair search that also include fov,but some other things aswell,and people Will see them most likely when they go look for this fov tool,Wich in itself,is actually already a hack.This shouldnt be allowed,if they allow something like this,it will be pretty hard in the future to detect different kind of hacks.

That’s a perfect way to describe it. And the incorrect glasses prescription is actually a pretty decent analogy to what’s actually going on.

For people who don’t notice an issue, try this:
1. Download the GW2 Camera Tool version 0.2
2. Go in game, log in, get on your character, then tab out
3. Start the camera tool. Once it says process found, tab back into the game.
4. Hit the numpad 7 key a couple times to decrease FoV by about 10-15 degrees.
5. Play with the FoV like this for a few hours, and experience what some of us experience with the default FoV.

That is a 3th party software program that WILL get your acccount banned,stop giving kitten information to people who might actually be stupid enough to try it out aswell.

I rather change the fov,having 2 or 3 monitors is just very ugly imo,the black bars in between really messes up the screen,i couldnt play a game like this,ever,just doesnt look right.

You can’t stop hackers/cheaters..ever.To eliminate them you should kill all sites/forums that promote these hacks,and you can’t,they can only do their best effort to detect and bann as much as possible,and please,make it a ban so that they cant ever play the game again.It’s pretty sad that people actually need hacks for this game.

There are even people on certain forums,explaining they are waiting for their password to be resetted by customer support so they can try out their new hacks…Seriously…this needs to be top priority imo,eliminate these…Kittens.

I know,thats why i said she shouldnt even bother with 7200 but go for 10krpm,and ignore the ssd as they are too expensive ( IMO) if she does have the money for it,by all means,go for a ssd.But 2×8gb is not necessary and wont do much for this game.

SSD are just to expensive as of now,you can get them cheap but dont expect them to last long,and the only increase she would see is a decrease in loading times most of all,it hardly increases fps at all,and will not make her suddenly being able to enable high res chars.if i were you i would just go for a normal hd 1.5 tb or so with 10.000RPM,dont even go for 7200.The 8gb you currently have is more then enough btw,i got 16gb but its more for heavy video editing etc.

If a waypoint cost 50c on lvl20 then its rather strange for them to bump up the price when i reach lvl80..since im now the hero of tyria and all,i find it weird that they charge me more.Infact,for what ive done for tyria,they shouldnt be charging me anything.Infact,citizens of tyria should pay me rent for still being able to live in their houses and me still saving the day,while they keep upping the price for me to travel kitten kittens…i think one day i’l just join Zaithan’s successor and get rid of them all…that’l show them for asking me money to travel.

Yes,but you should look at the minimum req specs,and your specs.

Well,it isnt really accurate but it does give you a impression of what you are to expect,and in this case the tool wasn’t far off.Usually when a game says you reach minimun requirements its usally means you have to down the graphics to low to have a playable fps.basically..it just means you are able to play the game.

No,you got a low end system that barely meets the minimum requirements,when this happens,you are bound to get extremely low fps,and this isnt even due to the rather unoptimized engine,but just you barely passing minimum.

I already mentioned it in another thread,i was also extremely dissapointed in the last mission,and especially in the way we defeated zaithan.The only “omg” moment for me was at the very ending when he flew by the ship a couple of times,that really looked awesome.But for the rest of it,how we killed him and how it all ended was dissapointing to say the least.
