Yeah,it’s a game,where everything can happen.For all you know zhaitans forces are trying to find the spell that would get the dwarves out of stone so they can make an undead horde out of them,and from wich we have to save the dwarves and in return the dwarves inhabit tyria again and become a playable race.

I dont think it’s because of the draw distance,i think its because we are able to see a XX amount of players at the same time on our screens.Just like in aion for ex. you could manually select how much players you are able to see at once , 50 – 100 etc.I think this is the cause instead of the actuall draw distance wich imo is quite fine,i can see people from a mile away,just not if its 50 at once…

I think the reasoning behind the limitation is that now they only have to listen to YOU rage instead off the computer noobs ramming it on high only to have it crash to BLUE SCREEN non stop .. and then blame it on Anet/Gw2.

What the…Vindictus is running on the SOURCE engine,you know ,left 4 dead ?…completely different engine,and basically every low end pc can run that game maxxed out,please stop comparing games like these with gw2.Gw2 has a completely different engine and imo looks a hell of a lot better then the games you just mentioned.

Hey thanks for the reply, didn’t get a chance to check back yesterday. I ran the DirectX updater and it said I had the latest version, did the same for my drivers and everything seems to be updated. I reinstalled GW2 as well, and I’m still getting those buggy graphics. The search for a fix goes on…

When does this happen ? right away when you start up gw2,or after a while playing ? It can be because you overclocked your gpu too high,or your gpu is starting to overheat.Artifacts like this usually turn out to be because of this,try monitoring your temps and setting your gpu clocks at factory settings again ( if you oc’d it that is).

mm actually..i havent played spvp in some days,yesterday played a few matches and my team got seriously kicked hard…we all were pondering wtf happend and how this ele is able to be nearly invincible all of the time,also Continously teleporting she was out of my screen in a second or 2 we were Never being able to catch up with her whatever we tried.I’m not one to call everyone who beats me a hacker,i know it when somone just plays the better round.

But this ele was insane,a whole team spanking her and she did not die ,and telporting the F out of there in a matter of 2 seconds,. no one being able to put Any condition on her,she goes out of sight,returns and tries the same..She was basically soloiing the entire match while her team went of capturing….this is game ruining.Imagine coming across one of these kids in about every match youre about to play ? I tihnk these are the people that lack the skill to do anything usefull without hacks,or they dont care about guild wars or being banned thus trying to ruin the fun of other people,in any case..I despise them,they do not realize they are ruining the fun of thousands of players only for their own benefit.

Yeah you can use pinnacle,and there are others though but i recommend pinnacle. I very rarely use it when im lazy and wanna play on my big screen,but i think the controls honestly kinda suck now matter how you set it up,so when i do use it im not really playing very seriously..and no pvp at all.

Now..dont go out to buy the very first shader 3 capable gpu you come across though…take your time to research how well it performs in guild wars 2 ( and other games ) and take your time to research what kind of gpu you’re gonna download..i mean buy.I think there are enough people here that can help you out with that.

I’m sure this thing works for people but this really didn’t worked for me. All it does it adds contrast / brightness and some others things. I, atleast, can already just go to my monitor settings and choose “graphics” either than standard setting and it does almost the same.

You’re not able to make the game as sharp with only your monitor then with using sweetfx,same goes for basically every other setting…You are also unable to use SMAA with your monitor settings,and you are unable to use Blooming,hdr,dpx,luma sharpening, or most other settings in sweetfx..Please people,use it first before speaking.

i honestly think the servers are quite fine and arena is lightning fast with fixing stuff..and like slark said you’re forgetting that this is not a p2p.Arena is doing an awesome job with Everything imo.

Some people have a problem with it,some people dont care or dont even notice it at all.But i think you’re absolutely right though,its the main reason im actually using sweetfx in the first place,and it did help me with the problem alot.I really enjoy the new look and increased details so it does the job for me.But again youre also right about not many people want to fiddle with sweetfx.Don’t think arena is gonna something about it though,unless their gonna implement directx11 at any time..if ever,and do more with the engine gw2 is using.

I’m not a photographer, but I know technical details and such, so I have similar knowledge.

I haven’t installed it, but I think it makes the game look a lot better due to the increased contrast. I think the game could benefit from some microsharpening or other treatment to get rid of the grey hazy tone it can take on at times. I am too afraid of being banned, but I would like to try just a sharpening feature.

Don’t worry,you will not get banned.The mods have seen this thread,if this was a bannable offense they would have responded in this thread and said it was,and then close the thread.Wich they still didn’t do.You can safely use this (And if i’m wrong and a mod sees this message ,please respond and say it is or it isn’t against the rules to make it clear once and for good ).

I think everyone here knows what SweetFx does,since they are using it,and you are not.So the explanation about what sweetfx does is a bit unnecessary.Thanks for your input though !

You should look at the clock speeds,not at the bars…

3 shots with different settings though,now im using the settings from the last shot with increased SMAA,decreased saturation + vibrance,increased hdr and reduced bloom a bit+enabled ambient occlusion.
1 has a bit too much saturation + vibrance, 2 looked good in alot of areas ( but had no smaa at all enabled at that point )and looked a bit washed out in most areasAnd as screen 3 is now..its going in the right direction,im quite satisfied with these settings now in all areas.

Uhm,actually..SweetFX Does help with that since you can up the limit of saturation so much that it looks like a cartoon.And there’s more settings then saturation alone,with vibrance,tonemap etc you can do Everything with the colours in gw2.

What do you mean with twice the default ? That would break your gpu most likely.

It’s already enabled…There arent many games that use 2gb or more anyway.

Just put it to terrain only or better yet turn it off,you wont notice any difference in quality,water looks actually better imo with reflections turned off.And the stuttering is completely gone,something is really off with reflections.

I was trying my best to melt my cpu, and the new halloween Lion’s Arch was doing its best to help me do that.
It is sad how easy it was for me to fix the problem, and ridiculous that I didn’t do it earlier.
I cleaned the dust off my heatsink… and now I can’t get above 50 C on my cpu, even while watching videos and playing GW2 at the same time.

My computer is stable again.

Because ive read an article some time ago explaining loss of keyboard signal when using a 2.0 keyboard on a 3.0 usb port,same for mouse or any other 2.0 hardware on a 3.0 usb port.Doesnt have to happen offcourse,but it is likely.And actually ive had the same with a webcam and an older keyboard,constant loss of usb signal it got me crazy untill ive read the article switched to 2.0 and my issue was resolved.

People that can afford it you should really try to use ambient occlusion,the effect with the gw2 compatability setting isnt very strong even on high quality ao mode.Tried out different one’s, mainly Demigod ( Crazy dark and strong effect,but made things ugly,lost 20fps and my gpu went from 60c to about 70c ) and call of juarez gave me the best ao but it was just also a bit too much.I think the gw2 mode for now is the best looking ao mode,with the least fps loss and most of all my gpu heat stays around 60.Try to make some screens later when i’m home.

80c ? thats definetely overheating !! You can seriously damage your hardware if you keep on playing and this continues to happen.I would really try to look for a better way of cooling it.

I think this is why its so hard for Arena to ban them ? Since bots are using hacked accounts,i think Arena doesn’t want to bann them instantly but find out whos the original account holder ? If they bann..do they try to figure out if my account is really a bot account or a hacked account ? do they bann my account or the persons ip?

I tried to make it crash on purpose,that only happens with me if i go over a certain value thats not really supported,other than that i would have no clue why SweetFx would make you crash when using the supported values.

Please try deleting your Local.Dat ( autogenerates ) file wich is stored in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Guild Wars 2 .The file saves your graphics/video/audio settings amongst other things ( it doesnt touches keybinds though ),so you need to revert those settings back to your likings when having deleted this file.Do note that the first loading will be longer then normal since its applying the graphics for the “first time”,after the first everything should be normal.

A while ago my loading became longer for no aparant reason,file size of Local.Dat was growing to about 43mb.Ive deleted it,loading times are normal and the file stil hasn’t grown over 23mb.Another user has also had a positive effect from doing this and also fixing his loading issue.

PS: if this doesn’t work…wich i think it will.Then also remember to make use of the -repair commandline parameter.

Agree,theres loads of titles in gw1..but here not so much,or i just dont know about most of them..But for one i honestly would have thought we would geta title for completing the last mission…Guardian of Tyria..whatever.
