With the new 4 stat ascended armor you could in theory get 100% boon duration or at least 50% with another 50 from a paragon friend.
Using Superior Rune of the Revenant it gives you 2 seconds of resistance using a healing skill. If you chose Healing Signet as your healing skill that adds 6 seconds of resistance for a total of 8 seconds. With Signet Mastery it reduces the recharge to 16 seconds. 100% boon duration will give you 16 seconds of resistance. Close to permanent.
Would such a build be even viable or even worth it?
Could you make the build in the build editor? That way we can have a more meaningful discussion where I know what the kitten were all talking about.

There was a dev response to this a while ago. Went something like this: If commanders are changing their colours it will confuse the playerbase.
So basically the idea is: Some1 new hopping into wvsw needs the ‘pieces of the mode’ to be static rather than dynamic in order to learn it easily and feel at home and all that jazz. Having a couple tags that keep changing their colours on the map is very much against this kind of philosopy.
Such responses kinda give you the rationale behind most of the wvsw gamemode design. All the mechanics of the mode are designed for casuals. IT isn’t a wargaming mode….its a run and gun mode where the player has free choice in how they want to play it (and no that isn’t a good thing lol).
I mean you should probably be happy you have 4 colours. That you can choose any of those 4 colours when you ‘want’ to tag. That they didn’t force you to pre-choose 1 permanent colour out of the 4 that you are stuck with each time you tag as a specific toon (I’m honestly surprised they haven’t done this since it would make identifying the same commander easier if they are always a specific colour). And that they allow you to remake the squad as a get-around….like how they allow you to talk to enemy players by blocking whispering and unblocking (i’m sure we are alllll thankful for this).

twisted fighter was the name given.
Pretty sure he’s the one that posted his build a month ago….here. The endurance regen one. Just 90% passive regen and 100% on stance proc. I played the build for a good period and it was quite fun, just I found it rather ridiculous how long it took to fight players using blocks…..and the longer you fight the less of an advantage the warrior has….and the more likely the enemy will have friends that show up. Given I like to end fights as quickly as possible and move on….its not a build for me. It is quite fun as I said, and I’m sure with a partner you won’t run into the problems I do when running stuff like this solo. So if you run solo and ur fine getting bogged down by enemies that die respawn and die and respawn in such a manner where you are stuck fighting until they giveup…..then sure you really can’t go wrong with this build. Don’t expect to be solo’ing very many contested objectives though when there’s a wp nearby. Against more competent opponents though ur at a disadvantage due to only having 1 stability that you can’t control when it procs. There are better builds for burst and there are better builds for sustain. This one is a good middle ground and has alot of fun and control to it though. I prefer full burst though.

If his hp drops low enough certain rune give stealth. Other than that…no idea. No warrior on its own will have access to stealth outside of glitches/exploits.
Is he in berserker mode when he stealths? that would narrow down the buglist.

If you want more match up variety and more balanced match up, you need to have more opponents. With only 12 opponents it’s very unlikely to get 3 opponents with very similar strength in the same match up.
And, since you have 4 big maps to fill, you cannot have more opponents because there is just enough population to fill them.
But, if you reduce the number of maps and split the servers, you could increase the number of opponents by 2 or 4 times.
The pairing system was the worst way to go about fixing wvsw by that logic.

Presence of the keep often bugs on bay keep in the alpine bl….which is where u were at in the pic. Try grabbing from garrison, should work fine there if the upgrades r there.

I would never call wvsw too big. In terms of less maps i woulda agreed with you back in dbl before the mergers. with the mergers tho and the lack of dbl….we definitely need all 4 maps in the current ‘meta’. For people who like nothing better than to log in and join a giant zerg and move back and forth with no sense of identity and individuality…then yes there should be fewer maps as it would facilitate more of this gameoplay

Only once have I ever found some1 to duel in Obsidian Sanctum…..and im pretty sure he was tailing our guild run which ended with the puzzle And I have checked on numerous occasions after being told over and over that that is where people duel….yet nobody is ever there. i waste all that time going there and walking allll the way to the stupid colloseum and nobody is ever there. I’m assuming its just T1 only where people are actually playing in OS.
IN terms of duelers and stuff though I can’t find them at alll lately and it hurts me so much. I have to try and find people and wave them off…..and initiate the duel process myself. This is a very frustrating process to actually find them, get them to an isolated place, not get swamped by stupid thieves and griefers, and find opponents who aren’t completely terrible at fighting. I mean I can appreciate everyone learning to fight, I duel to learn so does everyone else. But when I only got 2 opponents cause its so hard to find duelers….a.nd they both don’t even compare to me then i just get angry and have to force myself not to kill them and respect the dueling process.
And then finding people who aren’t in pairs or larger groups that won’t try to kill you mercilessly is even harder. And most of the time you think you’ve found some1 to fight 1v1 and play with….theres a friggin daredevil stealthed and waiting to pounce the moment you are vulnerable.
Its sad. It really is sad. Nobody knows how to fight anymore. And tehy have few ways to learn when tehy do. They have fewer ways to see how they compare 1vs1. instead they only see how they compared 7vs 15 or some other ridiculous comparison. They just blob and press 3 keys and then blame the tag or the enemy if they die. And they run stupid builds thinking that as long as its meta for gvg, the reason they are dying is because of other players on their team not following the meta. Unable to see the failure in their eyes they commit to see the truth. and from the ashes of syrup theres comes a time when the eyes of the dragons turn to pancakes.

They don’t need to nerf anymore of the environmental effects on the map. They already did alot of that in the last patch for no other reason than to satisfy people like you who complained about falling into lava since they don’t know basic movement commands.
Bring bloodlust to the central area
With the removal of the old kittened event, it’s completely unused. So bring in bloodlust ruin caps there. At least we know they work without lagging the entire border. 1 in the center, 4 around, done deal.
From this its very very apparent you want the dbl to mimick alpine. ANd are completely devoid of the ability to learn new content. Bloodlust is one of the stupidest parts of the alpine and you want it in the desert bl?……just no. Bloodlust is anti pvp. And anything that is anti pvp is pro pve. So you are complaining about the pve on dbl, but you are advocating for the work of adding in pve to the dbl cause its familiar to alpine. Just no. Take a look at what you are asking for here and start asking urself the hard questions.

Currently, this issue can’t be fixed because no server can gain a large enough population to beat the biggest servers, and few want to leave those servers because winning is fun.

Dont think about it…dont rationalize why it might be bad for the smaller servers…just do it and seeee what happens, haters WILL be surprised by the change in points at the end of a week.

THis matchup is boring. Ebay/HoD gets first place, NSp/SF 2nd, Dh/FC 3rd place….every week its the same.
HOw many more weeks of this? I thought the idea of the mergers and matchup fixtures was to ‘balance’ the matchups each week. You must have plenty of data by now to see that this matchup is NOT balanced….should we not change it and ‘re-access’?
At this point: I’m fully expecting this beta to last longer than the intended 2 months or whatever. ANd I’m fully expecting that if we get out of beta this will still be the matchup for the first couple weeks.
If the priority isn’t balancing the populations, and its instead on gameplay stuff then why are the matchups locked still? you must have enough data on all the matchups to reach conclusions on where the rankings should ‘restart’ when we get out of beta.
Can’t we just have a few ‘fun weeks’ where the matchups are completely randomized or just ‘different’? I mean you could change the matchups biweekly when u do this, that would give you more data if you needed more….it would give you better data than this stale matchup data. Would allow people to ‘see’ more servers and buy into transferring to them….money is what you need is it not? Beta isn’t supposed to = Boring.
Its the expansions fault we’ve even progressed backwards into a beta state.
Can we get the ball moving a bit faster here…the idea is fun right? Fun levels are reaching the starvation stage.
If you are stuck in a matchup with the same outcome each week (1st/2nd/3rd place status) as welll….please list the matchup in the comments, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least 70% of all servers are experiencing the same verdicts at the end of each week. Never ending vindaloop.

I have an evade and a block on hammer, but I can’t teleport out of combat, so the warrior is going to land at least one burst, which means large healing and huge damage.
Use stealth…its just as effective if not more effective than a teleport when leaving combat. You have huge stealth duration especially after ur bot thing dies….you can easily give the warrior the slip. If he’s really that good why weren’t you using stealth when he proc’s his 60 second cd’s? ALlows you time to regen, time to negate the effects of the abilities he uses, allows you to run if you so choose, allows you to setup and land a bunch of cc and combo on him after his ability is done and on cd.

They’ll make HoT AGAIN. And all the HoT specializations will become like the vanilla ones, and all the vanilla ones will become even more worthless. And the new Specializations will be more damage reduction and more kiting to the point where 33% of all fights have no conclusion. And people will be allowed to heal eachother from afar….shoot eachother with healing bullets and rez downed players from afar like that. And nobody will ever die. The end.
They need to just spell it out: Buy our expansions cause its gonna be the same content, but were gonna make it so you need the new expansion only specializations and items to play it. If they can be clear on this and they put an effort into making the new content interesting and make an effort to make more expansions and content like it going forward….then I can maybe get behind it since the gameplay has a progressive evolution kind of thing going on. It would be like SAO (vanilla) going into fairies and magic (hot) going into the guns and phantom bullet stuff (next expansion)…thats dynamic evolution and thats coool, but the ‘we are giving you more ways to play’ bullkitten pr and bullkitten moneygrab gameplay of Hot is NOT that.

Zerker is a gimmick spec, everyone knows how to counter most of it by now. Running Gunflame gives you the most viable way to deal with the meta in wvsw but its kitten sniper build.

Knowing how to counter something doesn’t mean I CAN counter it with warrior’s skillpool….dats kind of the point of the thread. Also explain to me how to counter a druid…like you just chase and whack them with ur gs all day, u cant stop their heals or anything and most of ur combo won’t matter, u just whack them indiscriminately and hope they haven’t stacked enough damage reduction and regen to make it impossible.

I would love to know who came up with the objective aura system, and the mentality behind designing it the way that they did. ANd better yet I’d like to know why its the only guild upgrade that hasn’t been ‘updated’.
Consider:
~75% of all ‘used’ mapspace is aura covered. 1 person can swap up to 7 guilds and lay 7 aura’s on 7 objectives all at once. You can swap and switch claims at will without penalty.
Lets just consider for a moment what the intent of creating the objective aura was…
Ideas:
1. Allow defenders a small buff to fend off larger forces?
2. Allow a ‘homeland buff’ to foster community and sense of domain and territory in the bl. Creating a very conservative meta where the outermost towers become k-train bait. Decreasing the benefits of moving directly into the heart of a bl’s holdings.
3. Allow larger guilds more recognition and ‘perceived’ impact on their bl community.
4. +5 supply in some places increases the speed of gameplay for all sizes of groups especially small.
5. ????
I mean lets just assume 1-5 are correct. Well, what makes it a poor system is because of how small the stats are (except the +5 supply), how indiscriminately large the aura space is made to be, and how indiscriminately the aura’s can be placed. Outside of the +5 supply (which happens to apply to a small static zone….hint hint), I don’t see how anyone can be validate the system in its present form.
To me it would make sense to do the following (omitting the +5 supply stat):
1. Make the aura cover only up to the outermost edges of the actual objective. That way only people inside the objective get the buffs.
2. I would then buff the stats of the objective aura by….maybe double for anyone inside. What would this do? Well it would make it so defenders have a better chance resisting larger forces. They would actually have incentive to stay in the tower….which would mean ‘defensive siege battles’. Presently the only way to defend anything against a larger determined force is to (a) find a way to get them to not be determined or (b) group up and fight them on the ground. That way groups that need help have something ‘inside’ the objective they can use to help them defend. Attackers on the other hand have incentive to plan out their attacks a bit more carefully, if they are smart they will hold the larger advantage against an enemy that is in an enclosed small space. Attackers won’t be complaining about such a change (no kitten aura outside the objective), and defenders won’t be either (more defense options).
3. HAVE A LARGE COOLDOWN ON THE AURA STATS ONCE THE CLAIM IS PLACED. Every cap grants points now with the 5 minute tower. With that and the other k-train goodies of this gamemode, it makes more sense than ever to add more ways to making objectives ‘important’ to defend….add some ‘wargaming’ back into the mode. Ex) a tower is taken, some1 tosses a full claim on it. What happens? Well there are a few options here.
Option A: every 10-20 minutes 1 tick of the aura bonuses unlocks on the objective….up until all aura bonuses are unlocked.
Option B: Aura stats are based on the fortification level of the objective. Maybe all are unlocked like presently but they are 25% of their present status to start….then when secured it goes up to 50%….reinforced 75%…..fortified 100%.
Option C: Unlocking different levels of objective aura based on fortification level. Maybe we start with defensive stats…move up to offensive stats at reinforced and fortified levels.
Option D : Hybrids of options A-C.
Just briefly: With the +5 supply aura: This could be tweaked no doubt as well. However, the problem isn’t necessarily with the aura. The supply system in this game needs a huge fix…..once/if that is handled change can be made to decrease or increase or change the supply given from objective aura’s.
The cost of Objective Aura’s:
If a system like (3) is inplace. Why must only large guilds have access to full aura? Allow all active wvsw guilds access to full objective aura options! There is no reason why a poor guild should not have access to full aura when people are rep’ing 7 guilds for 2 minutes a week and tossing 7 aura up on everything on the map that needs one within a 2 minute time frame. Its an insult to small wvsw guilds, it really is. The ability to place claims should have been based on the guild’s participation in wvsw each week. There are many ways to base such a system off of. Maybe doing x many wvsw guild missions unlocks the ability to place x many claims per the following week. Or maybe some other currency gained through wvsw (exp maybe? Tomes of Knowledge lololol? You kno….useless kittens?) allows rep’ing guild members something that contributes so their host guild’s overall ability to place claims. Maybe claims are limited in number based on this calculated wvsw participation. Maybe large enough guilds should be able to toss claims on more than 1 thing on the map? Maybe large guilds with the money are the only ones that can claim keeps and castles, but everyone else is equal when it comes to towers and camps?
So many questions. Larger guilds should have things smaller guild shouldn’t. The differences shouldn’t be determined by a 1-time-lump-sum of ‘gold’….that’s stupid. That goes both ways….a small guild of 1 person shouldn’t be able to just dump one payment of 200g and have everything a 200 member highly active and involved guild does.
Conclusions
All these options make infinitely more sense to me than the present system. I’m sure anything reasonable the community can come up with will be better than the present system. I mean you made the foundation for the objective aura concept…you still have yet to actually finish constructing it.
Objective aura’s as a concept really are one of the few guild upgrades that actually ‘make sense’, and seem like they add something valid to the gamemode. Flying airships and all that jazz was always just PR to try to get new people to come back to a dying mode. We are past that desperation point now though. If you are serious about this ‘beta’ and fixing WvsW its time to recreate these guild upgrades to something that puts the ‘gamemode’ first. I mean Marketing vs Gamemode has been a huge issue ever since HoT launched….its been half a year already, time to choose 1 or the other. Adding things for the sake of having things needs to stop….we don’t need the next fix to be adding gem store transformer skins to the ‘turn urself into a car’ gimmick.

Idk man, I saw a warrior the other night running gs and a/sh, and he was unkillable 1v1. My Scrapper couldn’t even scratch him. I ended up needing help from a pug to bring him down, and even that was really close. So much regen.
Not gonna question ur ability bro but you know how warriors work right? Adrenal health is their sustain, all you gotta do is not get hit by every burst they land. Outside of that, the only other stuff they have is passive health regen, defiant stance which is a gimmick ‘onhit heal’ mechanic, and stuff nobody uses like ‘to the limit’ which is normal burst hp regen every 30 sec. With adrenal: Dodging eviscerate is easy, that just leaves arcing slice which is more difficult to dodge but has a windup time that shouldn’t be landing 1/3 of the time since u should be actively dodging/blocking and kiting. Outside of that…..2 endure pains potentially to get past (just kite)….berserker stance and healing signet are the only real resistance to condi so again just kite. If they running berserker spec….again just dodge and then kite when you see red flames. And if they are hurting you or pressing you they are likely always full damage spec. Half the fight you should be kiting them regardless of ur weaponset.
Yet you couldn’t even ‘scratch him’? I mean that implies something else right there given warriors don’t run regen or protection boons.

Finishing via a stomp is not equal across all classes (basically requires high Stab). But removing Quickness from affecting stomping was the right change.

Conversely if a blob rolled up to your T1 keep with 12 minutes left till the tick you could let them flip it then flip it back before the tick and the blob got nothing out of it.
When you are drastically outmanned, as in one server has two 30-40 man blobs running around the border lands and EB you will never be able to hold vs a sustained assault. The best thing to diminish what they were doing is let them free cap and back cap everything with smaller groups.
Example: DL flips an entire border in 45 mins. 3 ticks happened during that time under the old system.
Tick 1: 3 towers, 3 camps and 1 keep
Tick 2: 2 towers, 2 camps and 1 keep
Tick 3 3 towers, 2 camps 0 keeps.Under the new system they always get a portion of the tick for what they flipped due to RI. So when they flipped a keep, assuming it took 10 mins to flip back they got what is about 0.6 of a keep and so during the first tick they would most likely have 1.2-1.8 keeps, this is most likely to be the same for the other ticks.
A large blob actually gets more PPT out of this system because it guarantee’s 1/3rd of the points of an old tick regardless of if it is back capped. With keeps and the inability to hide mesmers or small groups with thieves they take a little longer to back cap as well giving yet more of an advantage and being closer to 2/3rds of the points of an old tick.
This. I didn’t think explaining to this degree was necessary…..but you know….WVSW COMMUNITY. you should make the OP next time.
This change actually promotes defending and spreading out, in a way yes it also encourages more capping but it makes groups have to split their forces to maximize gains. This also makes roamers and havoc teams much more useful
This is true and yet it is false conjecture because the exact same can be said for offense. It promotes k-training and attacking to the same extent as you describe….however the other points come into play and we see k-training and attacking actually come out ontop from the change. That’s the point of the thread.
What you are describing in ‘increased motivation’ is a placebo effect. There are actually no forces at play that increase a roamer’s ppt (other than the ppk provided they are good fighters) if they just defend. If the roamer is just on offense however….yes it will increase their ppt which is one of the main points of the thread.

Vanilla warrior is power only. That’s what I run. And I keep getting more and more frustrated as time goes on when I run into enemies I cannot hurt much less kill. This damage reduction meta is ridiculous. Fighting scrappers…..tempests…..or druids that stack boons like protection and regen and food like 10% DAMAGE REDUCTION 15% BOON DURATION WTF makes fights the stupidest things ever lately. Just sitting in a tower cleaving at this tempest and they just proc 1 damage reduction after another….to the point where I couldn’t cleave them if they stood still the entire time. Pure invulnerabilities…..no crit earth style…..10% damage reduction food…..protection….just wtf is with stuff? I mean the only bright side if that they don’t have enough damage to actually kill me either…..but I gotta really work to not die! And usually this is when im defending or attacking an objective….and thats no fun to be fighting all day just waiting for more of them to come and kill me. And the pve doesn’t last against such fights…could be defending the lord and its gonna die since it has pretty much no regen to deal with or counter the slow cooker damage. They just sit there and spam aoe 1v1 and they win….cause reasons.
Was dealing with scrapper and it was the exact same thing. Whenever I down some1 they just tossed stealth and cc aoe all over them and they have their stupid robot heal them along with themselves. So even with stability, I can’t flag plant cause of the stealth and the speed of their heal. I can’t cleave, cause their heal is stronger than my cleave (like wtf how is that possible I’m full zerk 3k power?!!??). ANd whenever I get damage in on the scrapper they always have that failsafe where they go small and get a pure invulnerability when they hit 25% or whatever…..and they just run inside their keep again and ooc cause they have stealth which seems to help you occ even faster. THen they come out again and spam aoe and robots everywhere that I have to kill and get hit by aoe and they do these kitten attack combo…..you know that 3 jump/roll one that seems to grant invulnerability and heal them while they do it they jsut do that all the time.
I mean I look at their skilset on build editor and it jsut makes me angrier.

And druids they just stack regen and damage reduction and use their movement skills to play that kids game monkey something with 2 people rather than 3. They jump back and forth making me run after them to hit them and they just range and stack invulnerabilities and damage reductions and cc everytime I get close. God forbid there are 2 of them doing this to me.

Well, I mean in the old system if something not upgraded got attacked at like say, 12:30, we would opt to flip it back some time before 0:00 instead of trying at all. Oftentimes if there was just a giant karma train rolling through your stuff, that’s all you can really do. Now, we can deny some points for delaying 5 minutes, or maybe 10 minutes. A defense attempt of the sort in the old system would have been futile or even counterintuitive. (If we hold for 10 minutes, the enemy secures it for the tick). And if we lose people, we lose even more points due to PPK and ultimately that makes it worse than not trying at all. Assuming we cared about score— I admit there’s a tendency to justify flipping it back. =p
Still promotes K-training more than ever, which is the main topic of the thread. I’ll give you props for the other bits though.

I mean its pretty obvious what this means. But I’ll spell it out anyways:
RI is 5 minutes. THis means that as soon as something is capped, it automatically gives points to the attacker. There is even less incentive to defend something now. Better yet, there is no incentive for defenders to delay a k-train an extra minute so they prevent them from getting points (since they had plenty of time to recap after).
Why do you do these things? If I didn’t know any better you want wvw to be nothing but blobs and k-trains. You want guild groups ranging form 10-30 players to be the ‘roamers’ and ‘independents’ on the battlefield. You want everyone else to join the blob under 1 tag. One TAG to rule them all, One TAG to find them, One TAG to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
If that’s not true…the only other reason I can see that you did this was to make people bad at math believe that points-per-kill looks like it really does matter now. Make people believe that killing yaks and other players really makes them special

I agree with the OP. It’s really stupid and tiresome how many female skins are designed to be ridiculously revealing. I mean the panty textures are bad….why would you make skins that draw attention to this?…. Right? Am I right?

is what I would do. Sigil of force is kitten. Most of ur killshots are from weapon swap. Ur crit rate is 70% but you want 100% for ur killshot…..everything else is a feign or just cleave. By that logic you could go 0 crit rate with 6 100% crits and do better than a constant 70% crit.
Sigil of air isn’t really reliable for ur killshot so who cares.
I mean its easy to see what the build does and what shuts it down. Given the sniper playstyle I don’t think you will lose anything by removing ur precision. difference on blood reaction is 50….so 100 lost ferocity when in berserker mode. but ur gaining power from ur stones with the extra vitality. Frees you up to use blood reaction….which can be quite amazing for wvsw especially when ur running a gunflame.
And since u seem to be wanting to maximize damage wherever viable. Use 2 red rings of death (zerker rings) with power infusion. You can do that by infusing 1 of them and leaving the other normal. You can add power infusion to both of them so long as 1 ring is infused….lol @ this game and its lingo.

Backstabbing and all that is too crude when using a robot army. Actually a HUMAN MANAUL SECTION I is a rather interesting point of comparison, it might be worth sinking 30 mins into writing one up for fun. It would very much mimick what you see presently in the bl, only it would seek to condemn any of them ineffective practices you also see through…. more ‘primal’ methods (flaming, trolling, condemnation, humiliation, exclusion etc.). A dedicated “Trolling” position would probably be added to the mix…..ya it sounds pretty amusing. lol

Well the scouts are important players only trumped by the tag and accountant. You want them to be skilled, you want them to be motivated, you want them to be active. It still makes sense ‘to me’ that you would offer extra incentive so the skill pool is higher (from the volunteers) and the better robots can be chosen for the job. It’s a case of choosing 5 robots from the blob robots to be the scouts. You want the best of the blob each shift to secure ur holdings. Those 5 robots are the defense afterall. Let’s say you have a potential 80 robots (or whatever the map cap per side might be) to manage, only a potential 6 (always the 5 scouts + mbe the accountant) are NOT on offense. The scouts are nominated from within the blob, the blob will choose the best of its ‘willing’ candidates.
MOTIVATED SELF-SUSTAINABILITY FTW
Alternatively you could argue that rotating roles will keep the scouts more fresh, active, and alert (fresh blood, new gameplay etc). But the quality of the robots….is pretty ‘diverse’ to the point where I wouldn’t trust most of them doing anything other than chasing a taco pressing 1.

I hardly ever see any gunflame warriors anymore. I always enjoy looking through videos like this to spot the best way to time the dodge. I hardly ever find it though. I mean do people literally dodge as soon as they see the projectile? Its hard to differentiate if ur using that weapon skin though and its fast with quickness. Do you just dodge as soon as you see red flames like with most berserkers? But then a good gunflamer will cancel and then ur really in hot water lacking a dodge.

I can’t not use a shield with my vanilla warrior for wvsw….lets put it that way. Warriors are in a okayish spot right now, but still don’t the versatility of chrono and engineer and revenant among others. So in terms of mimicking actual shields and all that…..and being a vital part of their buildset, warrior is good guess for the best (haven’t played any of the other classes that use shields). In terms of being a useful class to actually play in the meta…..you should look elsewhere.

They are freaking everywhere and you will never see em….
Unless you happen to be lucky having a stealth disruptor trap in you’re inventory + a minimum of 10 supply’s to put down a anti siege weapon to counter permanent stealthing trap machine, and it will only kill him if he’s stupid enough to walk on it, given the situation it’s most likely avoided , as he is watching you as you put it down.Roaming in WvW is invisible trap wars, thanks to this. I get it, but honestly they are still less of a threat compared to daredevils. Its stupid beyond belief how condi users only have to put a ‘little’ bit of stats into condi to get high dps….whereas with a power build you have to put ‘a ton’ of stats into Power/Precision/Ferocity + might to do high dps. And you may even have to stack might duration ontop of that and focus might stacks. You could go knight’s stats to replace ferocity with toughness as the main stat….but that dents ur power huge amount.
Even if they aren’t invisble, you can’t catch them anyways so….their ‘counter’ item just buys you 30 seconds of alone time while they go ooc and jump back in.
Like i said though, nowhere near the threat of a daredevil.

Scouts:
Station 1 scout at each outermost tower. 1 scout is kept on standby to look after the keep and other 2 towers. Remaining 2 scouts are sent out to stalk each bl’s blob (should they have one). At the end of their shift they may continue another shift or notify the blob they need replacing, at which point the blob elects a new robot to take their place. Scouts get paid 2 gold per shift by the accountant. Scouts place defensive siege, traps, pull waypoint, and communicate information about enemy movements to the tag.
Scouts are provided with a ‘defensive cache’ (siege) from the accountant. These are to be given to the replacement once the scout resigns. When refills are necessary, the accountant is to be contacted by the scout.
Scouts are required to have 5 active siege disablers/supply removers on them at the start of each shift.
The accountant:
-Payed from the excess of each blob operation. Payment is a minimum of 1gold and maximum of 5 gold per shift. More work = more robots = more payment.
-They collect money from blob members.
-They pay the scouts at the end of each 20mins
-They buy siege/food/utility to manage the cache
-Accountant receives the cache from each expired commander and refills it with newly collected good and sends it to the newly designated commander.
-Accountant is charged with electing a new accountant at the end of their session and passing all excess funds to their replacement.
-Accountants are given authority to increase or decrease the blob fee per shift (to a maximum of 40s/shift and minimum of 0s/shift), based on too many or too few funds being available.
Accountants are allowed free reign to be anywhere on the map, so long as they finish their duties. Given the duties are extensive, most accountants should not expect to be engaging incombat during their shift.

You want a power build with a bit more survivability? You can just keep ur zerker gear and sub in a few trinkets/accessories with cavalier….marauder…whatever gear that has 2 damage and 1 tank stat.
I mean what utility skills are you used to using? that’s really the easiest way to add a ton of survivability to ur build. Ur running defense trait line….so from there you can add another endure pain for 2 max. You can add a berserker stance for condi/adrenal sustain. You can add a healing signet on the offchance ur using something else. Don’t know what ur used to using. So I’m assuming you want something like full glass canon zerker…..but with a bit ‘more’ survivability…tinkering with utility slots and traits and subbing in some different accessory in those 6 spots is really the best route imo. Using a completely different armour base gear really doesn’t make sense for roaming imo. Youcould go marauder I guess since that is less of a difference between zerk. I would take a bit more vitality and damage over alot more tougness (cavalier) given that ur primary death dealer is likely to be from condi (but again thats based on what kind of trait lines and build style you want to play)
expect the new wvw warrior power meta build to hit the scene any day now – working on the last details / min max. pro scrapper / dh already got rekt repeatedly against someone running it first day, looks very promising. will let this forum know when it’s out.

I have to say, I am kind of confused about what it is DH wants. I see lots of posts by DH about being outnumbered. As a member of FC I can vouch for this! FC brought not too much in terms of numbers to this linking. We have always had a small WvW community. Yet, we were in tier 5, not 8.
I personally was excited about the link. We had some FC guilds move to DH and I always liked them, so I was really happy. But my enthusiasm has been squelched! 3 times I have tried to follow a DH commander. The first time, I was repeatedly invited to squad and kicked out as soon as I joined. The second time, I found NSP inside our keep and I told the commander, I was berated for not being able to kill them all myself. (I am a staff else ?ø? and I fight like a girl). ???? The last time, the commander stopped the Zerg in route to point out I was FC and made me leave, saying I was infecting DH. So, really I have not logged into WvW a whole lot lately. I think this has been the experience of a lot of The FC community. It is pretty oblivious that, DH DOES NOT want our help.
I’m actually rather surprised this happens. Just block them I guess, find people like you to oppose them with, make fun of them yourself…..ignore them, one of those things. I know it sucks having a tag on the map that you hate or feel is a trolll or whatever…..but ya there is no silver lining it sucks
I’m pretty surprised there would be people like that who command outside of just guild runs. If its a guild group doing a run…..just whatever let them be idiots. If they are commanding pugs on ur server tho……thats not really cool, people on DH following them are pretty much supporting that kind of behaviour then. Paints a pretty gnarly picture of DH that doesn’t really fit with my experiences when fighting them.

gs+axe/shield vanilla warrior – high cleave high burst build – roaming and small group and even a bit of zerg fighting although I avoid mostly zerg fighting since it bores me….and guild runs ill use a variant of this build so its not really applicable.
After a couple of duels (or battles to the death…) with warrior/berserkers running Gs+Mace/shield I was wondering if it was viable for me to take mace over axe for ‘my build’.
I mean last i used MH mace was back in 2012 or whenever gw2 came out…..and i hated how slow the attack 1 was and i threw it in the garbage after some fights with it. Now that I’m a more educated warrior I was wondering:
-when its better to use over axe….
-whether its dominance, over say axe or sword, is limited to small groups/duel situations.
-how it compared in different matchups vs axe (vs a thief…mesmer…dh…whatever)
My build:
-a primary problem is it runs out of moves in certain matchups very fast…so vs daredevils for example. The axe/shield really does kitten damage compared to the gs. My primary cleave and burst is still gs. The eviscerate on the axe, for me, is kitten compared to F1 of the gs. It does serve as a small gap closer at times tho….but almost equally it serves as a missed/wasted burst.
-my moves are direct and generic. I rely on my huge power, unblockable, and hydromacy/lightning burst to win my fights. It sounds sad but thats how it is. It works.
-Other issues not good vs drawn out condi fights
-weak vs daredevils as well…although i can put up a good fight when they are limited to fighting within say a camp’s objective radius. It becomes a case of guessing and dodging and procing defy pain and shield stance and all that ‘before’ the thief makes his attack. So I can block the burst and ‘hopefully’ get a hit in before he/she retreats again. I gotta sit there at their mercy regardless. They are at MY mercy when I can land a shield bash on them tho (shield 4) for that 2 second stun….that’s usually a chance for complete victory right there. you can consider how mace/shield with 2-3 stuns would compare to that.
Axe itself:
-Axe 1….pretty kitten but its a flurry of fastish attacks that, for an offhand, provides the closest kinda cleave to my gs.
-Axe 2….I actually am fairly fond of this move. It’s a 360 move so its great vs thieves and stuff where I want to be able to dish damage out behind me. It applies a condition which I don’t really considering doing much for my damage potential but it seems to freak the enemy out when a power warrior applies a condition on them and disrupts their movement.
-Axe 3….I get alot of my kills from this thing given most of my enemies escape me with 1 hp alot of the time.. It even has more range than gs 4 even though it says they have the exact same range…..parabola effect or kitten documentation or something like that i guess. Plus its nice to have 2 ranged attacks (axe 3 gs 4) in an otherwise completely melee package….allows you to test the enemy tank and reaction speed and overall skill level so you can engage with the best strategy possible.
wanted to know if there is any point investing time in using mace.
primary strength of the build is cleave/burst so i dont want to take away from that too much.
I mean the Mace F1+Shield 4 combo will absolutely 1-hit ko me from 100% hp if I don’t have either of my endure pains or my auto stability off cd. That fact is a shortcoming of my build that I choose to live with…..signet of might over balanced stance. Its something I really have to watchout for when dueling other warriors lately…I can be winning 1-sided the entire time and be on the verge of finishing the enemy and that 1 combo will present the greatest comeback story ever told.
If you want to list some other types of builds where maxe/shield is better over axe/shield (in keep more with the title of the thread) I’d love to get a look at them. I know that healing hulk build posted a while back used mace/shield….and I always dismissed mace on account of it being part of some kitten healing/sustain stuff….which doesn’t really go with my UNLIMITEDD POWWAHHHH approach to things lately.

Maybe dh should just reform their lines a bit then. Stick to the borderlands and leave a skeleton force on ebg. The main thing to win is you need a larger zerg and you need some actual uptime of said zerg. From there its just a case of having ur roamers incharge of homeland defense, have a skeleton force of scouts holding ur dh corner in ebg, then having 1-5 scouts running nsp and hod bl, then everyone else is in 1 giant zerg that focuses nsp and hod bl and runs ebg only when ur own corner needs clearing. I mean I would even be happy with something like that since I could still do the small group fights against you guys, and could just avoid ur 1 blob. Ofc all of what I just said is ridiculous to implement, so just wait for changes to the mergers i guess or try to attract new guilds. I mean I wouldn’t mind being mind being paired with you guys and gals. I could probably stomach that much better than HoD (hod isn’t that bad but still it leaves something to be desired. Respect to HoD).

Ya it’s kind of as pity. I’ve learned to really like fighting u dh people….even tho i always run across some insanely rude players and ones that fight dirty as can be (pretending to duel…). But anyways ur mostly nice and respectful….compared to nsp u look like saints. Its worthwhile going out on a limb, showing love and respect to ur players even if we get stabbed in the back as a result hehe.
I see the lack of zergs and map control and overall emptiness of ur territories tho…..and it just keeeps getting worse as time goes on. I’m inclined to believe everythig u said in ur OP.
Ebay isn’t enjoying the matchup either. It’s too 1-sided. We dont like it, alot of our guilds moved out. And everyone saw the score gaps close when dat happened…but 1 week later everything was back to winning by a landslide.
I like small group fights, so dh is best target for that kind of fighting atm. You guys reaaaallly need more coverage tho….its too empty at times. You have some good fighters who fight legit, and I feel their pain.

Just thought I’d throw this question out there.
I was looking at taking the perilous path of dropping Defense for more damage in another line. As I weighed up what I’d lose from Defense, considering everything, the one thing I decided I couldn’t live without was adrenal health. The defense line has a ton of great defensive stuff to get you through your day, but I can work around everything except the effect of AH.
Am I wrong?
pretty muh yes. youu can find perfect subs for pretty much all defense traits except adrenal. Exception might be subbing in some leeching/blood sigils…or even better if u run hammer theres the hot on interrupt lifesteal sigil….lifesteal/regen food as well….those r really the only other ways to get decent passive healing on hit.
alt go run defiant stance or some other heal instead of signet….and revolve the build around burst heal rather than sustained heal. gimmicky stuff, mainly pve usage.
Also i dont think warrior needs anymore buffs we are strong atm…need more moves during a fight tho. We just need more variety and control in our weapons/skills and more balanced/fixed trait lines…….our trait lines r so messed up lol.

Im not sure if this is real or not, but ive been experiencing ‘swap weapons’ not triggering sometimes when i press it, and this is not a latency thing. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this.
I get this kind of stuff all the time where i hit a key and nothing happens. Looking at my keyboard though I discover I can presss keys in ways such that the key presses themselves don’t go off…..my ‘gaming keyboard’ has this issue apparently. I only get the problem in that specific game though so….idk lol. Even though I can reproduce the problem out of game, too many keys to press for gw2 i guess. I suggest you fool around with your keyboard and see if pressing the keys in slanted ways halfway and what not causes them not to trigger sometimes. If the key can be compressed if any tactile way but not register….that’s not good.
Other times I clearly compress the key and nothing happens though….and I know its the game in those cases. It always happens when I lagg. Consider as well the frozen bugg with warriors where you just stop moving and alot of commands don’t work when you hit them….that could also be the case where ur hit by that at the wrong time. Other times I clearly smack the key and it doesn’t go off. I have my weapon swap key on ~ under the esc key left of the 1 key. I can pound on that multiple and times while I’m not lagging and nothing will happen…that can’t be my keyboard.
I also get an issue I think its with sticky keys or something….that might be related to this problem tbh. I have everything disabled in terms of sticky keys yet I still get wweird ‘whistle swooooooosh’ sound in the middle of fights every so often. Windows 8 blows so hard its not even funny. I disable so much stuff on it and there’s always 1 more thing you find that shouldn’t exist and needs to be disabled.

I think they are both garbage unless you are using gunflame with the rifle or condi berserker with the bow. WOuldn’t use either one with a vanilla warrior….outside of pve.

Pretty sure a few people have reported me daily for talking to commanders in the past haha. Never meant any harm by the comments, and they were taken out of context and labelled as harrassment….wasn’t the intent mostly.
I know it sucks having people around you making the environment feel kitten when before you felt safe/accepted/protected. I mean just be thankful that other people are able to identify with your thoughts and feelings…and that you are all able to label them together as a troll. It hurts more when they go after you specifically and noone is around to help/support you.
I mean I know blocking doesn’t work against a dedicated troll. I block people all the time and I get another message from them a minute later….block again and another message….etc etc. The lfg/friends/contacts/blocklist system is MADE FOR TROLLS. It is a haven, and alot of them exist simply out of how easy and accessible it is to contact other players, especially when they don’t want to talk to you.
In terms of punishing people for things said ingame before blocking/muting….no devs would ever consider doing this except in extreme cases. In terms of punishing people for constant harrassment and abuse even after they are blocked and muted and all that stuff……yes there is an avenue for punishment in that scenario.
It’s unfortunate that these persons upset you and others. We all deal with this stuff though. In the future you should avoid seeking conflict/contact with/about the person. ANd avoid making threads like this. And avoid reacting or changing any of ur behaviour in response to said persons. Not for the sake of the person, or the forum users, or anything like that…..I’m saying this for your own sake. It will bring you more peace of mind to avoid triggering more conflict over such things. You aren’t being a pushover by doing this. You will one day learn that a lion does not concern itself with the opinions of sheep (I got that from the SAO abridged…from Game of thrones apparently). One day you will think so pooorly of these "trolls’ that you won’t even care….you’ll just be like “omg shush ur mouth already nobody cares what you think”….then you will mute them like u do to any other whining child without a second thought or care.

Can you fix some of the warrior’s sprint movement skills as well? Like just “SOME” would be goood at this point. Shield 4 not breaking immobilize is really hurting me.
