There was a time that we are not whinny as other people think/throwing to us when they’ve beaten to death while today when those been beaten to death role/play Thief and died to other class/profession they whine back twice the damage. It’s a food chain and the cycle is good if you ask me.

Nothing against DH they are fun to play with especially when playing glass and them with Frag of Faith works well (not perfect) in team play; tho rumours was Condition called Weakness can nulify/negate their monstrous trap damage? idk, i do not play this game anymore perhaps those who play hardcore can clarify such accusation?

So basically, you bumbled into this pvp season, are playing with low level players, haven’t had a chance to experience just how stale the meta

I wanted too but they put a dimensional barrier that a mere human like me can’t pass.

I’m a pve player and recently converted into pvp, if pve doesn’t teach you how build variety/diversity is while zoning into higher level area it is not my problem anymore and you have no right to flex those AP of yours. Advance players and their first world problem is killing me.

As i am not able to play this game due to routing issue, hows beta testing? Looks like they two step forward and no step backward on their League HUD/UI improvement and decided to show hidden numbers to accurately determine skill placement and if you don’t mind telling hows matches quality? do you guys still getting paired and against Zhaitan minions?
Since some of their paid henchmen failing on marketing, while some of their script writing guy had talent,any news on who is gonna buy this game other than China? (you know population issue).
Any one played around the clock in different time zone since the league started (given it’s holiday) and monitor your own que time?
I read awhile ago that the more you raise in division the more quality match-up you get; was it true that, game has better quality script today onward?
Aside from pve reward stuff is there any other way to award (aside from skins and titles) casual player like me who have put a lot of faith on this masterpiece game of theirs/yours?
While game is becoming less and less Asian theme; and for all we know its a business, any news on the next expansion and their Elite bundle? also is there any chance/other way an old account to get Elite spec by not buying Heart of Thorns™?

I don’t see any problem against current number setting since the game mode is not balance around 5v5 same as lesser than 5v5, I mean the more the merrier but greater than 8v8 that could cause a problem.

I rather play with group of ten people in EBG for a week twenty four seven to defend a keep or take a castle against other twenty people both sides (that makes 30 in total) and call it competitive.

Upon reading all i gathered was: you cannot compare offhand Dagger into offhand Pistol because it is clearly offhand Dagger was inferior than offhand Pistol in terms of Utility offhand Pistol brings on the table. Why? because they serve different purposes and usage which make Thief fun to play.

Some of the gripe i read was, Thief is all about Trickery, well you’re right, i’m not saying tricking are for advance Thief players but yeah, because it bring more synergies than the other. right.

Interms of stealth capabilities going in and out, i believe Thief suffered enough? Though i would love to be proven wrong.

Conclusion: i see nothing other than revolutionize Thief further which is fine on my side.

I don’t see any advantages using macro now a days unless you wanted to build a community and start blinding the children, they easy to determine using naked eye; not saying better script win games but the fact that combat logs cannot determine such software and so on (only skill that has been thrown) and considering those who buy some high end gaming apparatus also people that have disability. All i see is OP is whining cos he got handicapped by players who invested on their gaming career and wanted to ruin others fun experience. my advice is learn and take them as a motivation to enhance your reflexes.

Although if Arena.net wanted to go Esporting path they really need to upscale their people and hire some ingame police to facilitate matches, i mean not all of us are Tournament level material players so what gives.

Oh my this is alarming, I know that I play Deception type Thief but if this plea purpose is to Nerf or make D/p set less viable while we all know that it’s the most weapon set use as a training wheel then I have to disagree and disregard every suggestion you people has in mind. If you have deep problem against stealthy stacking thief; as someone suggested there are some alternative class that can reveal a stealth thief in a single button press and I think its stackable (a clarification perhaps?).
My only gripe is Hide in Shadow been four years and this Healing skill tool tip hasn’t fix yet, currently it gives three second of stealthy feeling (Four when traited) when use/done in plain sight, but when use in shadowy area which required structural and environmental skill it does not give any rewarding part, at least make it longer duration when use it properly cos Hide in Shadows, right.

And yes if necessary reconsider Scorpion Wire currently it takes no skill to use it properly.

I can only give insight to number one, i play core not that i lack supportive capabilities and start trying to feed their korean overlord on their Elite part but to the most recent in four years of beta testing and practicing stuff? i’d say Arena.net truly stand on their words that they are just another way to play around.
Honestly though, i never felt so much skilled play using my core builds since the introduction of Heart of Thorns™

Oh and to add, make it not Elite spec like someone already suggested. all plain new Greatsword skill and lemme combine various traitline that positively synergize on core line which make this game fun to play with interms of diversity/variety (purity, plain and simple). If can, might introduce new utilities (if necessary) but i doubt though i’ll embrace Stances (if needed) like Endure pain although Acrobatics can cover that type of needs. Trapper (Utilities) Great sword thief plus deception, ugh so much sight Arena.net.

Yeah, good point. just don’t give us an i Win button (Bad design) like every Greatsword wielding class/profession has to ensure team fighting/co-op capabilities. I’ll welcome new mechanic such as Astral shadow or another shroud to negate damage in melee combat if necessary, hopefully the feeling is mutual within reach against my fellow Thieves.

I don’t quite understand how a guy who has repeatedly stated ’you’d have to literally pay me to play GW’s’ is trying to now encourage a healthy PvP scene? For me personally it kind of feels like an attempt to keep the dev money pouring into the pockets of what is really only a handful of people in the pro scene. But, I’m a cynic no offense or shots intended.

That aside, it’s a good discussion but as someone mentioned earlier, a lot of the playerbase get annoyed due to PvP being the area that gets balanced around. Having builds gutted or dealing with broken stuff when PvE stats are applied to PvP builds is a great way to build resentment towards PvP. It’s no wonder Reddit just downvotes stuff on PvP when you look from that perspective.

Which kind of ties into: Casual Wars 2 is in full-effect at the moment throughout the game, how can a game aimed almost directly at a casual/part-time audience ever hope to gain traction with ‘elite’ gamers? The PvP pro games are so far over the ‘regular’ players heads that they cannot even begin to care (just personal opinion ofc). Is there even a way to shift that perspective with the current overarching direction the game continues to take? I get it that the casting discussion would help a great deal but without a player base that cares about high-end PvP does it even matter?

The point is, make a long term relationship and make those gemstone/pip valuable and reflect player skill which this game truly needed, let say, Amber is Amber and One Diamond pip is equivalent to a Whole Ruby tier so on and so forth.
What about those lazy people but has deep pocket? Fear not , make a Gemstone conversion thru BLTC. well you know what i mean.

As a casual player and can’t grind my way up to legenday division, as much as i wanted to get all those time gated stuff to make my future legendary skin in my own liking including all those tickets, why not reward us by making and implementing a system which we players can bet all our pips we farmed before match begin in your official hotjoin servers? We all knew that, in hotjoin, those precious gemstone meant nothing, right.
i’ll defenitely all in my farmed pip just to cross a Division and get my future legenday skin, as someone suggested before; do it off season.
