In Guild Wars 2 Discussion there is a stickied thread at the top that has an official answer on the matter. Since nobody posted the link I will https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Policy-on-the-LFG-Tool

Edit: I believe Anet’s stance was that you can sell access to gathering nodes in your home instance and it’s buyer beware, but you can’t use the LFG tool to advertise it.

GW2 and the Death of Small Guilds

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

EDIT I really should have just named it “GW2 and the Death of Guilds”. The small part is something really near and dear to my heart.

This is an absolutely crucial article to read as we get ready to head into HoT. I have tried to articulate this very point on these forums but sadly my communication skills are not up to snuff. There are some things I disagree with for sure, but for the most part, I have to say I agree.

I remember when we were doing the Guild Hall CDI. I was a huge advocate of pro-rating the amount of whatever guilds had to earn in order to get basic amenities for their guild halls. For example(and this is all hypothetical), if a 100 person guild needed 100 gold to have a basic merchant at their guild hall then a 10 person guild should only need 10 gold. Smaller guilds shouldn’t be forced to pay the same 100 gold just because “that’s the way it is”. We already earn Influence at such a slower pace and really I wish that was pro-rated as well.

Before I ramble on and on, really just read this article. Devs too, please. I think it’s so important for little, tight knit, guilds to be able to thrive just as much as the “Corporation Guilds” this article addresses. And. please don’t comment til after you have read the article http://massivelyop.net/2015/04/09/massively-overthinking-the-death-of-the-mmo-guild/

I really believe this is a discussion we should all be having. Community in MMOs should not be homogenized and watered down.

Thanks for your time.

I disagree about smaller guilds having cheaper prices for guild upgrades.

The reason being is because guilds would coordinate their efforts to have members leave the guild until there is the minimum amount of players to get the cheapest price. So for example, a guild with 100 players would ask 90 members to leave and/or kick members to get the 10g price. Then after they get the upgrade all members would rejoin. Basically it’s too open for abuse.

I do understand it can be frustrating not being able to keep up with big guilds, but I think the system was designed with large guilds in mind.

Super Adventure Box [merged]

Right on page 1 of General Discussion there is already a lengthy thread about SAB called “Super Adventure Box [Merged]”. You would have been better off posting there instead of creating a new thread about it. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Super-Adventure-Box-merged-1

SAB will return eventually as stated by Gaile Gray more than once in the thread
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Super-Adventure-Box-merged-1/page/14#post4456748

According to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.

I know you would like more details, more info, a date, etc., but that’s not available right now. I hope the above comment reassures you, though, because at the core, the important answer is that yes, SAB will be back in the future.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Super-Adventure-Box-merged-1/page/23#post4864450

There’s no new information on SAB at this time as far as a return date. You know it will come back at some point in the future, but there is no date to announce right now.

And here someone said they contacted customer support asking for a refund for their infinite continue coin and supposedly he/she was told there will be no refunds because SAB will come back some day

Since some people were asking, here’s the email they sent me after I requested a refund on the infinite continue coin in December after it being useless for 15 months:

Dec 25 20:13

Hello xxxxx,

Thanks for getting in touch to ask about your Super Adventure Box Infinite Continue Coin.

We understand you may have been concerned about the usefulness of the coin, but according to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.

As a result of this plan, we are not issuing refunds for the SAB Infinite Continue Coins.

Character Slot for Heart of Thorns? [Merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

they selling the expansion, it will be part of what you pay for, they should provide 1 or two character slots . its what guild wars 1 expansion did too. that’s what I believe

A lot of people mistake GW Factions and Nightfall as expansions. It is true they gave you extra character slots, but they were full games with their own self contained story lines and did not require you to own any of the other games to play through them. You could take a character over to any of them and play through the later story lines. The early story lines for new characters created from that game were not accessible to characters created in another campaign, though you could still do the early town missions after making your way to them along with exploring the low level maps.

The only true traditional expansion to GW1 was Eye of the North which required you to own at least 1 of the full games (Prophesies, Factions, or Nightfall). If I remember right I was disappointed because EotN did not give me a free character slot.

So it’s possible Heart of Thorns won’t give us a free character slot, but since it seems to be a popular request it might just happen.

I purchased 3 sets of 5 dye packs for a total of 15. Out of that I got only 2 Shadow dyes, Orange and Turquoise and that was from the first set of 5. The second set gave me a mix of common and uncommon (blue and green quality). The last set of 5 packs gave me all common (blue quality) dyes. I’m not too happy about that last set.

Official. Anet don't work on build template

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

He didn’t say they were never going to work on templates. He said they aren’t working on it now because the expansion comes first. He also mentioned it was an awesome system in GW1 and acknowledged there was a demand for it in GW2.

It’s possible they will work on bringing build templates to GW2 some time after the expansion releases. It takes time for them to bring us stuff based on player feedback due to their priorities on what they need to get done first.

So just be patient. Hopefully we’ll get build templates by the end of the year.

Shadow of the Dragon armor

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Why is there only 3 pieces to this armor? There’s no chest, legs or boots. I personally really like the way it looks but I’m not going to spend gems on something where I only get half the look I want. Any insight is appreciated.

The Shadow of the Dragon armor skins cost a total of 900 gems (300 per piece). Each piece unlocks for all 3 weights. A full 6 piece set at that rate would cost 1,800 gems for all 3 weights. You’re paying 100 gems per weight per piece for the 3 pieces we do have.

Now if you were to buy, for example, the Aetherblade armor sets for each weight it would cost 2,400 gems total (800 per weight set). For a single weight you’re paying 133.33 gems per piece of the set.

If it was a full set that could be obtained with a single purchase it would probably cost at least 2,400 gems and I don’t think some players want to pay that much at 1 time, especially for anybody who only wants the set for a single weight. It would be a waste of gems.

Now what they could have done was make the Shadow of the Dragon armor skins a full set but sell each weight separately, like they do for the Aetherblade sets. That way if you only wanted the light armor set you’d pay around 800 gems instead of 2,400 for all 3 weights at once. Just my 2g. Edit: The thing is all armor pieces look the same for all 3 weights. If they sold full sets of separate weight classes you’d be paying up to 3 times for the same exact skins.

Mithril has a daily limit how often it can be harvested in each zone .. much like Orichalcum, and if you reach that limit you simply can’t harvest more until daily reset.

I don’t think that’s it. I’ve seen this problem with rich ore nodes in Eternal Battlegrounds for months. I’ve never seen a rich node there that actually allows you to mine it fully. I always get only 3 ore from it even if I hadn’t mined any other Mithril that day.

Does reporting people actually do anything?

Charrbeque.8729

I reported someone for spamming racist words in /say and /map all game long in a SPVP match and he’s still playing the game a week later.

It sounds like you’re upset the player didn’t get permanently banned for it.

As someone else said in the thread, behavior like that usually results in a 3 day suspension for a first offense. It’s possible the player was punished and their punishment was over by the time you saw him/her in game again.

As long as the player isn’t doing any thing wrong there is nothing you can do about it. There is a such thing as abuse of the report feature. If you keep reporting the player when they do nothing wrong simply because you want them permanently removed from the game, it will most likely result in you getting punished.

Bottom line is: report if they are breaking the rules, otherwise just let it go and don’t worry about it.

What Can I Get From Masteries?
2. Master Legends: Train in legendary crafting to learn to create all existing legendary weapon precursors and new legendary weapon precursors introduced with Heart of Thorns.

I’m guessing the reason why precursors are dropping in price at the TP now is because nobody is buying them. People are waiting for the expansion to come out because they’ll be able to actually craft any precursor and no longer need to rely on RNG or the TP.

Perhaps some day I’ll be able to get my hands on a precursor and ultimately a legendary. As it has been since I’ve been playing I’ve never bothered with it due to prices in the TP being way beyond my reach and, as far as I know, I’ve never got one dropped. I am worried they will make it so we have to do extremely difficult content in order to unlock precursor crafting. I still haven’t obtained a single luminescent armor skin due to having to complete all achievements in various living story episodes, most of which are really difficult for me.

Suggestion:Crafting Disciplines Account-bound

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

At the very least it would be nice if all recipes were unlocked account-wide once learned for that crafting discipline (both discovered and learned through recipe sheets). That way if you want to work on the same crafting discipline on multiple characters you won’t have to worry about being short on recipes.

It would be nice though if crafting discipline progress was account-wide (for example: get Armorsmith to 400 on 1 character and all others have 400 Armorsmith). But as others have said, some players use crafting as a way to level up new characters. Although……..if they couldn’t use crafting to level up new characters because their crafting is already leveled up on an account-wide level, it would encourage players to participate in the New Player Experience.

Selling on the LFG

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

You are still just selling something in-game over lfg.

When you sell/buy an item, you are looking for a group to talk about selling/buying item.

That is similar to selling a dungeon port to me.

Also, I still think there should be a clearer message on what is condoned. Especially with an influx of new players completely new to mmos. If they seen stuff like that etc. I would think they wouldn’t question if it was wrong to buy or sell on lfg.

There is a huge difference. The LFG tool was designed to find players to do content with, which is what players selling dungeon/achievement runs are doing: playing the game together with others.

You can’t justify using the LFG tool to “group” with someone just to sell them an item because you are not playing the game together doing dungeons, living story, or any other kind of content.

Selling on TP

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Yeah, I noticed when clicking on lowest current seller price it sets the quantity to 1 and I have to manually set it to max.

I also noticed something strange. When instantly selling items to the highest buy order there is an error message in red text for a split second that reads “Quantity can not be less than 1” even though the sale goes through. This happens every time I sell something instantly and doesn’t matter if I sell 1 item or a whole stack of 250. This error message doesn’t appear if I’m listing an item, only if I sell instantly.

Edit: When selling an item that still has buy orders below the minimum amount the item can be sold for it defaults to the highest buyer even though it can’t be sold for that price. For example: when I go to sell ‘Piece of Ambrite’ it defaults to the highest buy order of 52 copper each instead of defaulting the the lowest buy order, but the minimum sell price for it is 55 copper. There are buy orders for ‘Piece of Ambrite’ that are lower than 52 copper also.

Add vendor value to snowflakes and the runes and sigils we get from Wintersday gifts. The runes and sigils do sell in the TP but minor and superior go for only a few copper if anything. I had to discard 8 stacks of Tiny Snowflakes I had listed in the TP for 9 days because they wouldn’t sell, and that was the absolute minimum 2 copper listing price. I suppose I could just toss them into the mystic forge and upgrade them to the next tier, and the next, and so on, but philosopher’s stones cost skill points only and I would eventually be left with no skill points and a ton of Tiny Snowflakes I keep getting from the gifts. Besides I already have 1500 Flawless Snowflakes in my material storage (I’ve purchased max collection storage expanders from the gem shop).

Mini Pet Organisation Required

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Other requests:
Label minis with which set they belong to.
Allow us to search minis on the TP by set.
Give them an “unlocked/locked” notation like armor skins.

Actually they already do have a notation on whether it’s locked/unlocked. Just hold your mouse over a mini in the TP or your inventory and it will say ‘Miniature Locked/Unlocked’. It was something I suggested a while back and was eventually implemented making it easier when buying minis to see what you don’t have yet. But still it’s hard to tell which sets they belong to.

Another issue I raised was that the Series 1-3 miniature achievements are still under General>Community in the achievement panel. Personally I think they should be moved to Basic Collections since they really are collections. They could also make it like various weapon and armor collections by making it so when viewing the collection you have icons for everything showing you what you have and don’t have.

Here is a screenshot of what they could do with the miniature series 1-3 achievements: move it to Basic Collections and have icons for everything. It would make things easier. I do suspect the reason why they aren’t considered collection achievements is because you don’t receive a reward chest or any items for completing them like you do with all other collections, so they could just leave the achievements under General>Community. The icons showing what you have and don’t have when viewing the achievement would at least be better than nothing.

Go to your bank. Then select “Miniatures” at the left. That will help show what you are missing a little better.

Same issue. Can’t sort minis based on what set they belong to. I mentioned this issue when the September feature pack released. It’s hard to tell which minis belong to which sets without looking it up on the wiki. Looking at your minis in the hero panel where you select which to use also has no option to sort them. You can search them by name and that’s pretty much it.

In the Account Vault>Wardrobe>Miniatures there is a drop down in the top right that has only 2 options: All and Miniatures. Neither option changes anything and all minis are placed together as 1 whole set. Here are a couple screenshots to prove it.

The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

The monthly awarded achievement points that could be gained on top of completing the daily achievements. Now all we have is a flat 10 points per day and nothing extra.

From what I have seen so far, the daily log in doesn’t reward any achievement points at all, not even from the 28 day reward chest.

Edit: What I’m saying is for the most dedicated players (not me) who completed most or all dailies on top of doing all monthlies had potential to earn more achievement points each month then we do now. With the new system there is no point in doing any more than 3 dailies, unless you actually want all the random garbage from the chests the dailies give you.

Everyone is on equal footing now. Just do the 3 easiest dailies for your achievement points and the most dedicated players have no reason to be dedicated anymore since they won’t really be rewarded extra for it.

No Daily Login Nor Monthly Reward

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Daily log in rewards do not reset each day. If you miss your reward 1 day you can get that exact reward the next day. If you log in for 14 days and take 3 months off you will still be at 14 days for the daily log in and pick up exactly where you left off. The daily log in rewards won’t reset until you have logged in and claimed the reward a total of 28 days. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Log-in_Rewards

The login rewards follow a specific cycle where each day you log in, you get another reward. The cycle repeats after 28 claimed rewards. Days are accumulative, so missing a day will not matter, you simply progress a day each day you login.

Edit: Inculpatus is probably right about all that though. If you’re logged in at the normal daily reset time you should receive the new day’s reward immediately. But you don’t need to worry about missing any rewards if you miss a day or a month.

The downside to the new daily log in system is the lack of achievement points we use to get from the monthly. Now all we have is 10 points per day from doing 3 daily achievements without the chance to earn any extra.

dueling

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Hell no to open dueling!

It isn’t about being afraid of losing. It’s about being humiliated by players you decline to duel.

Turn down an invite, or have it set in the options to block invites, and someone who wants to duel you will start insulting you. Calling you a coward and other names I can’t repeat here without them being kittened. Usually players like this tend to hang in groups and they all join in on the fun of embarrassing you. And when other random players pass by, the jerks get them to join in on the teasing. Then you start getting PM’s from random players making fun of you for not wanting to duel.

And if you have the courage to accept their challenge, they are usually a few levels higher then you (or whatever the max level above yours that allows them to duel you) and decked out in the best gear possible. Then you lose in a duel but that doesn’t stop their harassment, in fact they do it even more.

And then there are those who set up bots to auto-challenge anyone who gets in range for the sole purpose of annoying as many people as possible.

All this kitten has happened to me in the past in other MMOs……MMOs I no longer play because of it.

In GW1 you could send a guest invite to your guild hall and issue a private challenge to the player. I’d be open to that if we ever get guild halls with GvG. But otherwise I’m completely against open world duel requests because it will eventually create a toxic environment and Anet will end up having to do something about it like the Coiled Watch farm and others. Otherwise, any kind of PvP should be taken to PvP arenas.

Forum Slurs- Pledge against them

Charrbeque.8729

It’s OK. I’m sure when these new forum “specialist” moderators are hired things will be a lot more nice around here and nobody will ever have to worry about being slandered again.

A couple of misconceptions there.

Gaile Gray (Source)
ArenaNet Forum Communications Team Lead

“Here are some answers to question about the Forum Specialist Program:

No forum specialist will be a moderator. No FS will have moderation rights or back-end forum access of any kind. They will not infract, suspend, or ban any forum member — ever. Forum specialists will be able to flag points — as any member can and should do — and we hope they will do that actively. But each flag will be reviewed impartially and acted upon only by staff members and only if the flagged post or thread is in breach of the UA, RoC, Naming Policy, or FCoC.

We expect applicants to have a decent, but not necessarily perfect, forum and game history. We would not dismiss an application simply because someone received an infraction for speaking in the heat of the moment or making a joke to which someone reacted negatively. We will review game and forum account history on a case-by-case basis. Naturally, someone with a long list of forum infractions or someone with a sketchy game history is is not a likely candidate.

Forum specialists will not asked to muzzle their opinions. These will be highly involved forum members, and their opinions and insights are valuable. We will encourage specialists to link to official threads for official information and offer their personal opinions clearly as opinions.

We will not limit our selections to cheerleaders and “white hats.” Communication style is key. Offering constructive ideas for change is good; complaining is not. Expressing opinions is fine; expressing opinions as fact is not. Interacting positively is good; condemning, dismissive, or condescending communication is not.

This is a pilot program. We hope to be able to expand it outside the U.S. in the future, but there are legal reasons for the limitation right now."

Yes. I’m aware they won’t have any kind of moderator powers. I was referring to the fact they will be expected to keep an eye out for posts that violate the rules. “Forum specialists will be able to flag points — as any member can and should do — and we hope they will do that actively.”

Depending on how many specialists there are and who end up being one, we could end up with a lot more posts moderated because of them. I was making a sarcastic joke about it.

Do we really need a thread saying “come on guys, be nice”? Seriously. If you think a post might be against the rules then flag it. It’s that simple. No need to create a thread whining about some words people use. If such words become too much of a problem (i.e. having a lot of posts flagged because of them) then ArenaNet will do something about it such as making an announcement not to use those words in a rude manner or adding them to the kitten profanity filter.

It’s OK. I’m sure when these new forum “specialist” moderators are hired things will be a lot more nice around here and nobody will ever have to worry about being slandered again.

[FORUM]Filter blocks unoffensive word

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

The filter also messes up any word that ends in the letter ‘T’ followed by the word ‘it’, especially contracted words, but for some reason it doesn’t do it always.

Examples:
isn’kitten
ain’kitten
won’t it

It’s weird. I type the first word (isn’t [space] it), click preview, and it’s fine. Type the second word, click preview, and the first word becomes censored (turning into ’isn’kitten’). Type the third word, click preview, and the first two become censored.

It doesn’t make sense when your sentence turns into “Wintersday is fun, isn’kitten”
(in the sentence the question mark at the end was removed for some reason. I can click Edit and the sentence is perfectly fine with ’isn’t [space] it?’ at the end of the sentence.)

The whole profanity filter is wonky.
I think during the forum reorganization ArenaNet said that they would pretty much need completely new forum software due to certain reason, which is also why the search feature doesn’t work. Something about the people contracted to do the forums in the past are no longer contracted to do them or something.

Warming Grawnk's Heart never get ornaments

I went by Dulfy’s guide and got an ornament for the collection from each JP chest in the list. It’s safe to say you are pretty guaranteed to get them from these jumping puzzles. The only exception is I never made it to the JP in Cursed Shore since it was a long walk across the map because I hadn’t explored it yet. I managed to get the Golden Ball from a regular chest in Cursed Shore and completed the collection.

[Bug] Princess Doll missing sounds

Charrbeque.8729

Update: I saw someone yesterday with their mini chickenado out and it seemed to be making sounds. So I whipped mine out and sure enough it was. It seems they did fix it after all. The reason why I never noticed before is because the mini chickenado’s sounds are very quiet and hard to hear with the background music, especially all the Wintersday music in Divinity’s Reach.

Compare the mini chickenado to another mini like the princess doll and the chickenado is practically muted.

o so they are forcing me into the bell quire how nice

The infinite achievement for Bell Choir is for completing songs (hitting enough correct notes to not lose all your health and be thrown out). The achievement that counts for the meta requires you hit a total of 500 correct notes. This means you don’t need to survive any songs at all. As long as you can hit a couple notes at least per attempt you can get it eventually. I really sucked at Bell Choir at first but that’s how I got it, hitting a couple notes here and there. It took me a few days.

Dead Ranger Pet Still Heals Underwater

The Wiki has it listed as a bug where the pet will continue healing you under water even if it is killed while reviving you. Using Lick Wounds revives the pet to have it heal you and help you rally but how it’s suppose to work is if the pet is killed while reviving you it should stop reviving you and put Lick Wounds on cooldown, to my understanding.

Mini Skrittaclause

The skins actually need to be used on weapons to count for the collection. Simply having them isn’t enough. Basically the toy weapon skins need to be unlocked in the account wardrobe to count for the collection.

Easy way to do it is to go to a regular weapon merchant and buy white quality weapons for cheap then use a skin on it. Keep in mind that you can’t apply the skins to weapons your character can’t use because it needs to be equipped, so you may need more than 1 character to do it with.

Edit: The collection can be found by pressing ‘H’ to open the hero panel, clicking Achievements at the bottom left an it’s under Collections>Basic Collections>Wintersday Toy Weapons Collection. To unlock the collection you need an ‘Heirloom Toy Chest’ which you can buy from a holiday vendor in Divinity’s Reach in exchange for ugly wool sweaters, ugly wool socks, or ugly wool hats. You can also buy this item from the trading post for about 3 copper.

Mini Toy Soldier missing idle animations

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Charrbeque.8729

Some time in the last patch or two the Mini Toy Soldier had his rifle permanently stowed on his back. He no longer holds it and doesn’t go through the Toy Soldier animations with his rifle. I bought this mini from the gem shop at the start of Wintersday this month and he did have his rifle in his hand and go through the special animations then.

Screenshot for comparison. I used a tonic that turned me into a Toy Soldier. I am on the left and the mini is on the right with his weapon on his back.

Why makes you keep on coming back?

Happy Festivus.

Been playing GW since 2006. GW Factions was my first MMO ever.

I’ve stuck with GW because of the great customer service, constant communication with the players, and how they change things based on player feedback. Of course we can’t expect to get everything we ask for but Anet has made compromises on many occasions, add new features requested, improve drop rates on some things, etc.

Edit: And they have a great bunch of people working for them.

This only applies for GW1. In GW2 its the opposite for almost everything. 0 communication with the players, feedback gets mostly ignored. Alot of broken promises, compromises only after the playerbase were shouting at them for weeks, useless new features we never asked for and probably wouldnt have asked for and the nerf for loot.
And the bunch of great people you have been talking about is mostly gone and have been replaced with underpaid contractors.

Not from my point of view. They make changes based on player feedback quite often. A most recent example: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2014-12-18

Slight adjustments have been made to the Wintersday Gift reward tables in response to player feedback:

Another example is based on player feedback they reduced the cost of the silver-fed salvage-o-matic from 1 silver per use to 60 copper per use to bring it more in line with the cost per use of a master/mystic salvage kit.

Mail carriers were a requested feature.

Based on feedback of the new player experience they made changes such as making it so skill point challenges, vistas, points of interest, diving goggles, etc., unlock account wide once you have a character at the appropriate level. This way veterans can do these things right away on new characters.

And there are many other changes I can’t remember, but the fact is they do listen to player feedback.

Who said anything about the gem shop? I was thinking maybe a quest for April 1st where the reward is something like a magical bag of goods or something and when we open it all we get is a pet rock mini pet.

How many dailies for the monthly achiev?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

My hubby has his monthly completed. The Monthly Completionist finished it for him. So when did it change? Mid month?

It changed when the new login system was introduced.

I guess I should read more Thanks all for the replies and Merry Christmas

It wasn’t announced as a change, so there’s no reason you would have known. It’s a bug associated with the new login rewards, and since there are no more monthlies, it’s not a bug they’re going to try and fix.

Charrbeque, the issue is that the current and final monthly “Daily Completionist” broke when the new system was introduced, and no longer advances. That’s what is being discussed.

Sorry. I could have sworn this thread was in ‘General Discussion’. My mistake.

Yeah, it’s in general discussions, but the context is the original post of the thread. You were answering something completely separate from the issue the OP had. There’s not a subforum for this specific question, but you’re certainly welcome to start your own general discussion about the new login system. I don’t understand this snark.

Someone mentioned the log in system so I was adding my thoughts in response. And the reason for my “snark” is because you flat out said “It’s a bug…”. Sorry if I seemed rude. I was being a little sarcastic actually. Also, the OP seems to imply they think it’s not working as intended, which means he thinks it’s a bug.

But you are probably right that it won’t be fixed since there’s only a few days left before the monthly is removed. I already had that part of the monthly completed before the new system was rolled out so I can’t say much about it.

I would like to say though that there is a thread about the daily/monthly system https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-dislike-the-new-dailies/first#post4628737 It’s kinda the unofficial official feedback thread on the subject. In fact, just before posting in this thread Gaily Gray had closed another with this to say https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Way-to-ruin-a-Christmas-ANet/first#post4651482

Feel free to share your constructive input here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-dislike-the-new-dailies/first#post4628737

Thank you.

Gaile has said in that particular thread she is passing on feedback relating the new daily/monthly system.

You can only complete Warming Grawnk’s Heart once per account. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Warming_Grawnk%27s_Heart

You can, however, alternate between different characters if one character can not get the stuff Seimur’s wants without much hassle. The whole account shares one Grawnk.

It is a fact that you can only do the quest once per account. I never said you can only use 1 character to do the quest with. Edit: Yeah I misread the OP. He was asking if he can use multiple characters to complete it with and the answer is of course yes.

The log in reward system is replacing the monthly actually. Starting January the monthly will be gone for good.

How the daily log in works is different as in it doesn’t reset each month. It only resets once you’ve logged in a total of 28 days. So if you log in for 14 days then take a 3 month break you will still have 14 days completed for it.

Grawnk and Orphan are in your Home instance. Since you’re a Charr that home instance is in The Black Citadel. They’re marked by two candy icons.

Grawnk will give you a very easy clue on where Seimur is on that particular day.

Actually they show up in any home instance you enter so you don’t have to go to your race’s instance for it.
