Will we get a revise Silver Fed Salv-o-matic?

I highly doubt they would ever increase the cost to use the Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic nor would they ever make it function like a black lion salvage kit.

A better suggestion would be to make an infinite use Salvage-o-Matic that functions like a black lion salvage kit.

I don’t really understand your argument here.

It was a typo.

Zaxares.5419 said:

2. Increase the per use fee to 3 silver (3 copper -> 3 silver)
3. The SFSoM (Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic) now functions as an unlimited use Black Lion Salvage Kit.

I don’t think Anet would do that. There were several threads complaining about a 1 silver per use fee to use the kit, and at least 1 thread trying to get people to boycott buying it. Some players were outraged about it and some felt they got scammed because they weren’t aware of the continuing cost to use the kit (but that’s their own fault for not reading the tooltip in the gem shop before they bought it). If Anet increased the fee per use on the SFSoM it would upset a lot of players, including me.

A better suggestion would be for Anet to make an infinite use black lion salvage kit instead of increasing the cost of the Silver-Fed and changing its functionality. I have no need for an infinite use black lion salvage kit but others may find value in it. I do think that would be a great item for Anet to come up with and they just might someday, you never know.

For me the cost to use the kit isn’t bad, but honestly I would prefer it to not cost anything to continually use the dang thing.

I do have 1 quirk with the Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic: the item icon is confusing. It looks like something you’d see on a golem. It should have an icon that makes it look more like a machine. They could have reused the copper-fed item icon but colored the machine thingy silver so you’d have an old rusted look for copper and a new shiny look for silver.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Perhaps ANet looks at the figures, sees it didn’t sell well, and decides to improve it and see if it sells more. Or maybe they’ll write it off as a bad product and never bring it back. It could go either way.

Personally speaking, I’d go with the improvement route.

1. Increase the price to 1000 gems. (Maybe even more. See below.)
2. Increase the per use fee to 3 silver (3 copper -> 3 silver)
3. The SFSoM now functions as an unlimited use Black Lion Salvage Kit.

And in the future? We can get a Gold-Fed Salvage-o-Matic. 3 gold per use, functions as an unlimited Upgrade Extractor.

You’re not the first to suggest that.

I highly doubt they would ever increase the cost to use the Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic nor would they ever make it function like a black salvage kit.

A better suggestion would be to make an infinite use Salvage-o-Matic that functions like a black lion salvage kit.

As for a gold-fed, I highly doubt it. The only way that would work is if it had a 100% chance for rare or higher mats and a 100% chance to salvage runes. The high cost per use would have to be worth it but only if you use it sparingly.

Watchwork Pick: Why No Response?

Charrbeque.8729

K… let me rephrase, a gemshop item that is the MAIN way of getting sprockets into the game is a horrible idea. My reasoning for it being the main method is because in a home instance you collect a few per day, but with the pick you can collect as many as you want.

But it isn’t the main way.
The main way is killing Aetherblades and mining the Sprocket Node in the home instance. Sure the Node only gives a couple each day, but at least you are guaranteed to get them.

The node in my home instance gives me at least 8 sprockets per day, sometimes more. I actually got 9 sprockets from it yesterday.

Old TP sucked. New TP was very easy to get use to and only took me a couple minutes at most to figure it out. We have a lot more categories for buying items, such as a new ‘Back’ item category, being able to choose character level, armor weight, armor stats, etc. I like it way better this way.

Perhaps; but the threshold is just too low. Couple of items and you get this annoying message.

It isn’t that low. I sold a bunch of different types of crafting materials yesterday. I didn’t get the error until after I sold maybe my 15th item or so.

You guys should be thankful it tells you that you’ve sold too much too fast now. Before the feature pack all it said was “Error attempting to sell” which wasn’t informative at all.

Aside from preventing you from spamming the TP which would degrade performance for all players, it makes it so others have a chance to buy/sell items.

[Suggestion] Minis on tp

in Black Lion Trading Co

Charrbeque.8729

Hi, since the patch there have been a lot of changes to minis and now its pretty hectic.

I had this idea that since minis are now unlockable for an account, like skins, it would be nice on TP while looking through them to see which ones you already have unlocked for your account, making the system kind of similar to dyes/skins.
I am sure a lot of other ppl would like this too so if it is possible to do would be a nice feature to add ty for listening

That is a very good idea and I like it. If I hold my mouse over a weapon or armor in the TP the tooltip will indicate if I have the skin unlocked. It would be nice if mini pets in the TP had this indication also. Edit: Make the text telling you that it’s already unlocked for everything would make it easier to tell. I think for weapons and armor it just says ‘Skin Unlocked’ but the text color is exactly the same as it is when it says the skin is ‘Locked’, which is grey text.

They took it off the market a few days after it was release and ridiculed so apparently the saw a problem with it. I was just wondering if they plan on releasing a fixed version of it.

I remember seeing it had a “x days left” timer on it, so I’m pretty sure it was pulled because it was scheduled to be pulled, not due to the backlash around its pricing; it makes sense for the product to be on a time-limited sale given the longer people have to think about it, so the solution is to prevent people from thinking about it too long.

Correct. It was limited time availability in the gem shop during the 2 year anniversary sale. I believe it said it had about 4 or 5 days left in the gem shop. After the time expired it was removed. No telling when or if they will ever bring it back. They probably will eventually but it might not be for a long time, considering all the separate threads of complaints about it I wouldn’t exactly say it’s in high demand to come back.

I bought one.

To be honest I salvage everything I get. The only items I don’t salvage are anything rare or higher quality that I have the skin unlocked for. If the skin is locked then I unlock it and salvage the item.

Some don’t find value in the Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic but I do. I always ran around with a couple master salvage kits in my inventory because it has a higher chance of rarer materials and salvaging runes. I always wanted an infinite use salvage kit that was at least equal to a master kit so that’s why I bought this doohickey. I usually get runes when salvaging. Minor runes get only 16 copper each from a merchant but every copper counts. Having a higher chance to get rarer materials means I can get more for them than regular materials. Some rare materials can go for 30 silver or even more than 1 gold a piece.

I’m not a math wizard, but ultimately I believe I am at the very least breaking even in terms of cost to use the kit and what I can get in the trading post. I’m probably gaining a bit more return then the cost to use the kit.

In conclusion the cost-per-use of the Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic isn’t going to break my bank, and I’m usually flat broke. My only complaint is that the voice saying a random line every few uses is broken right now, but I’ve seen reports of it being broken for the Copper-Fed, slingshot weapon skin, and other sounds in the game. Of course I wouldn’t mind if Anet decided to completely remove the cost-per-use from this and any other items that may have it.

There are 2 in Plains of Ashford. 1 straight out of the Black Citadel. There’s a small pen type enclosure to the left. The other is just north of that where the Skritt have their small cave.

You are correct. I talked to the scout by the Smokestead Waypoint and he pointed out 2 new hearts nearby. 1 just left of the Smokestead Waypoint inside the cow pen and another straight north of that at the Greysteel Armor Waypoint.

Screenshot with the new hearts circled

Edit: Other renown heart in Celedon Forest. Talking to the scout near the Astorea Waypoint revealed the new heart. Looks like those are the only new renowned hearts that were added to the game. I’m back at 303/303.

All I have left to finish in Tryia is the Cursed Shore and there aren’t any renowned hearts in that zone. After that I have the WvW maps to work on for map completion.

Essentially this means we had progress actually taken away from us. I’m hoping this is just a bug because I don’t think Anet would intentionally do that to us. At least I hope not.

Adrenaline has been BUTCHERED!

in Warrior

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Oh yeah, I don’t like the fact that now if our burst skill misses we lose adrenaline anyway. This means when fighting some monsters that constantly blind you we can’t use it at all depending on what weapon you’re using.

Example: Those dust devil things in Dry Top during a sandstorm constantly blind you every couple of seconds. There is no way you can prevent it and it’s useless to use anything that removes conditions because it will go on cooldown and you’ll get blinded 4 or 5 times before you can remove the condition again.

Adrenaline has been BUTCHERED!

Charrbeque.8729

Well with the elite skill Signet of Rage I build adrenaline fast enough when it is not on cooldown and as long as I don’t use it. The problem is I often times use it for the might and fury. So while it’s on cooldown building adrenaline takes even longer since the feature pack.

Agree with others: often times my adrenaline is completely depleted before I can get to an enemy nearby making it much harder to ever use my burst skills. The only time I can use them is if I’m in a long fight.

Signet of Rage had it’s passive adrenaline gain increased a lot and fury/might/swiftness had their duration reduced from 30 seconds to 25 seconds. This is why I can’t use this elite often anymore if I want to build my adrenaline. Not having the might and fury from using it makes me less effective in battle since I’m forced to choose gaining those and having slow adrenaline gain or gaining faster adrenaline and doing less overall damage.

I’m OK with making adrenaline deplete a little faster out of combat but not completely drain from full adrenaline down to nothing in 3 seconds.

Various other nerfs to warriors also http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2014-09-09#Warrior

I’ve been using dual swords lately and ‘Impale’ had the duration of torment reduced from 12 seconds to 8 seconds.

Various skills had their damage reduced.

I do not like the change to adrenaline or the changes to Signet of Rage. All the whiners finally got what they want. From looking around on the forums since I’ve been playing I sometimes come across a thread/post complaining about how OP warriors are. Now they are almost as useless as they were in GW1 and my main has always been a warrior.

Yeah, I’ve read a post by a dev that it’s working as intended. However, 90% of the time outside the cities, I can’t see the mini due to rising player population, even though there’s no one around.

AND YET, when I was waiting for Tequatl and the map was apparently full, my mini was shown right next to me. o.O

EDIT: [SUGGESTION] If minis are such an issue, then why not limit them to cities only, since you can’t even see them anywhere else anyway.

As far as your suggestion goes…….that seems to not only be what’s happening, but intended all along. I’ve only been able to summon a mini in a town such as Rata Sum even though there are a lot of players around and they too have their minis out. I can also summon my minis in a home instance.

It’s aggravating since they hyped up the new mini pet collection, achievements, and it not hiding after transferring maps. What’s the point of it not hiding anymore if you can’t use it outside a town or home instance anyway?

And to top it off they put the series 1 and 2 mini packs back in the gem shop so they could sell more of them along with a new mini 2 pack that has a Mini Chieftain Utahein and Mini Svanir.

I bought the new mini 2 pack and 2 packs of series 2. That was before I found out I can’t use them outside of towns. I’m not a happy camper. I had some gems I payed real money for.

Dodging and/or switching weapons seems to fix it when it happens. How it happens I’m not sure. It seems to happen sometimes after using warrior sword skill #2 Savage Leap. Sometimes after using Savage Leap I’m not able to use any other skills at all for a moment.

Edit: It does seem as though it has worked itself out. I don’t seem to be having any problems anymore with this. Perhaps it was a bit of lag all along?

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

I’d love to see the god costumes from GW1 return as outfits.

Augur of Kormir: This costume is no longer available, as of June 27th 2014, in the online store.

I find that rather weird. I probably bought it 2 or 3 years ago since I owned all costumes from the shop. No idea why they would suddenly remove a costume for purchase after it’s been available for so long.

But I agree it would be nice if they could come up with GW1 costumes for GW2, particularly http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Raiment_of_the_Lich

Edit: Weird. A lot of other costumes were removed on that same date and can no longer be purchased. From the looks of recent patch notes the GW1 in-game store was removed and a new store launched. Edit: It looks like a lot of the costumes are no longer available anymore for GW1 http://store.guildwars.com/store/gw/cat/categoryID.67871700#cat_67872000

Anywho, I would also love this outfit in GW2 http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Vale_Wraith The problem is they would need to make your legs visible, especially for Charr since they run on all fours and there are a lot of animations that wouldn’t look right with your legs missing LoL.

LFG sellers

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

I agree with you. The LFG tool is not a grey market tool.

I would say it should be common sense that the looking-for-group tool is not an official means for players to trade.

I would like something cleared up about the mail system. I’m assuming it too is a “grey market” but I have had conflicting reports in game and on the forums. Some say it’s against the rules to use the in game mail to buy/sell items but I looked at all of the legal documentation on the GW2 website and couldn’t see anything close to being specific about it. Others have said it’s not against the rules to use the in game mail for player trading.

Either way there is a risk of somebody getting scammed when using the mail system to buy/sell items. But, it is a rules violation to do so?

Personally I’ve only used the trading post and even if there were other authorized ways to trade such as face-to-face I would still use the TP. It’s quicker, easier, and I don’t have to spend hours trying to buy/sell something in chat until I get a price I think is fair.

Personally I would report players trying to use the LFG tool for advertising items for sale or trying to buy them as potential bots, or at the very least for abuse of the system. I would also report players for advertising the buying/selling of items using the in game mail system also. Using the LFG tool to trade involves having to use the mail system to complete the trade. So, yeah. Best to play it safe and stick with the trading post.

Why default sell to highest buyer?

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

I preferred it the way it was. If I’m in a hurry and not paying attention I may end up instantly selling an item I could get more for. Often times the highest buy order is at least 30 silver lower than the lowest sell price.

The way it was meant if I got in a hurry and clicked the button it would be listed as matching the lowest sale price. If I decided I wanted to sell it instantly I could cancel the listing and retry, but at least I wouldn’t accidentally sell it for lower then what I want for it.

I agree with others that an option would be nice to have it always select lowest seller or select highest buy order. That way people who just want to get rid of stuff can set it up to where they only need to click once. And the same for people who are patient and want to list an item without selling it outright.

Where did my personal story go, im level 28 and all im getting are hearts i dont care to complete atm.

If you had the Living World story active and wish to work on your Personal Story instead, you will need to open the Story Journal tab in your Hero panel, then click the “My Story” button to expand the menu. From here, click the “Continue This Story” button to set your active quest from Living World to Personal Story.

Pardon me but, the person you responded to said they were level 28. Players need to be level 80 to activate the living story.

The correct answer is that the personal story was broken up into chapters. Chapter 1 starts at level 10, meaning you can’t start the personal story until level 10. I think each chapter opens up every 10 levels after that. So what most likely is happening to liquidtornada.3026 is he/she needs to be level 30 before they can continue the personal story.

Some had mini pets out and I was able to use mine as well. This whole “due to rising player population” is pure nonsense. I usually hang out at Dry Top. Although the zone is populated, players are spread out so I don’t see a whole bunch in 1 spot usually unless they are all working on an event. It doesn’t make sense that in a place such as Rata Sum you can display your minis with a whole bunch of players all congregated in 1 spot but not a zone where they are all spread out and you’re lucky to see 5 or more in your visual range.

Anet should just be straight with us. Mini pets can now only be used in the racial towns and home instances. Because those are the only places I’ve been able to use mine so far.

I didn’t let it get to me though. I just figured “whatever” and went on my merry way.

I don’t see a point to a level restriction on them though. It’s not like you’re gonna come across anything before level 15 that requires you to jump off a cliff into water. Much less anything that requires you to use diving goggles. It’s just an optional achievement you can get.

Hey everyone,

While this is currently working as intended, it’s definitely something that we’ll be working on and tweaking in the future. We want you to be able to enjoy your minis so hang in there!

Are you serious? You’re kidding right?

I was in Dry Top yesterday and after a while I tried again to get my mini pet to show up and got the “rising player population” error. Not more than 2 minutes later I got a pop up saying due to player population declining the instance was going to close in an hour and gave me the option to switch to a higher populated instance. Does that make any sense to you? Even after I got the message about the instance closing after an hour my mini pet still refused to show up.

I find it hard to swallow that you make it so our minis will stay out when we change maps, add the whole collection in the wardrobe, encourage us to buy more mini pets from the gem shop (series 1 and 2 currently available again), then turn around and tell us we can’t use the kitten things. Thanks a lot. I bought that new mini 2 pack in the gem shop yesterday with that Chief and Svanir thing along with 2 packs of series 2, and that was before I found out about the “rising player population” problem.

In my case I couldn’t even get to the rocks. After a few steps a devourer would pop up right underneath me, causing me to fall down and setting off the powder keg. After a few tries I gave up. Mark II Golem Gatling Fists damage issue

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

I noticed that too with those golems in Dry Top. On my warrior with full exotic gear I was downed in a matter of seconds from them and they weren’t even veterans. In fact, it seems a few types of non-veteran and veteran enemies in Dry Top at least do way more damage then they did before the feature pack, though I can’t remember which enemies specifically other than the Mark II Golems. Although, when I went to fight the Skritt queen with a group of players I and everyone else kept getting downed/killed in 1 or 2 shots. At first it was just 3 or 4 of us it was happening to then more players showed up. It was as if the queen was scaled up high when there weren’t very many players there.

3-toed Tootsie does massive damage too. That bird is annoying. While fighting a salamander enemy it ran straight into me at rocket speed and I hit it. It then started attacking me and took half my health in 1 shot and I have close to 20k HP on my warrior.

Overall the enemies in Dry Top and the Living Story content are way to powerful and sometimes cause massive condition damage. Moldern Thrasher things cause huge stacks of torment in a matter of seconds in various parts if you try to attack them with a melee weapon. It’s annoying having to use my longbow on my warrior for fighting 75%+ of the enemies in LS/Dry Top.

Could we please have an option to have it like our inventory. As it is right now it’s as if we have our mini pet collection set to “Hide Bags” and all are shown as 1 bulk inventory. I can search for a mini pet by name but not the series it belongs to.

Can we please have an option to separate the minis by the collections they belong to in the wardrobe please? When I go to continue working on completing series 1 I’m gonna have to go by the wiki instead of seeing what I don’t have that I need to buy from the TP.

It would be easier while having the trading post window open if I could open the hero panel and get a quick glimpse of what I’m missing.

I couldn’t even get a powder keg to the rocks. I was using the search skill you get while carrying the keg to see the red circles to avoid. But I could never get very far at all. I stop and wait for the search skill to recharge then use it again and see red circles to avoid so I start walking, then suddenly a devourer pops up right underneath me knocking me down and setting off the keg forcing me to have to grab another. I could swear there were no circles at all where I was walking. After about 6 tries I gave up. I saw other players trying to do the event and they seemed to have the same problem getting hit without getting even halfway to the rocks with the keg. Everyone gave up before me and when I finally gave up nobody was even trying the event. I checked back later when the event was active again and nobody was bothering with it.

Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic voice won't play

My Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic has that problem. For a split second the audio starts but suddenly stops.

I did notice something else though. My gem store infinite use bone pick mining tool seems to either have brand new audio when mining a node or the audio is much more noticeable now. It isn’t too loud and I do like it though.

Miniature Set Collection Achievement Removed?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

From the looks of things they just reset the mini pet achievements so you have to start all over again.

They said there would be “new” achievements but they all look exactly the same as before.

The achievements really need to be moved to the new ‘Collections’ category in the achievement window. Having them still in the ‘General->Community’ category makes no sense since minis are now referred to as collections.

I have 2 separate achievements for series 1 for some reason. The new achievement is showing 1 less mini than the old one. (Risen Priest of Balthazar might not be counted when adding it to your collection)

See my post here. Screenshot proving it. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Miniature-Set-1-Achievement-Bug/first#post4385523

Miniature Set 1 Achievement Bug

I just read from a post posted here about 9 hours ago…
It appears that the Risen Priest is the one that is bugged.
Depositing it into the collection doesn’t count into the Achievement’s Progression.
Can anyone confirm this?
As mine is already deposited, and I can’t do it twice anymore.

Deposited mine also and I actually suspected that mini might not be counting. I was going to update my post but you beat me to the theory.

Still, there shouldn’t be 2 separate achievements for series 1 minis.

Miniature Set 1 Achievement Bug

Charrbeque.8729

Similar problem here. Before the feature pack I had 26/40 series 1 minis. I had 26 minis in my bank and after adding them to my collection the achievement shows 25/40.

Other bugs I noticed:
#1. The achievements for collecting series 1-3 are still in the General->Community category instead of being in the new Collections category.

#2. The achievements look exactly the same. We were told there would be “new” achievements and it sounded like new rewards for completing these sets.

#3. I am seeing 2 separate achievements for miniature series 1. As you can see in the screenshot 1 of them is showing 1 less mini than the other.

I also had at least 2 points each for series 2 and series 3 but it looks like they were reset. The reason why it shows I have 5 for series 2 is because I bought a couple packs from the gem shop (1 of the minis was a duplicate). I didn’t own the series 2 or 3 minis anymore since I sold them a while back, but as some had feared, we have to start all over for the achievements, meaning you have to get your hands on the minis you no longer own all over again.

I’ve had a copy of the GW2 launcher shortcut on my desktop with the ‘-repair’ command line. I got in the habit a long time ago of force verifying game files after getting the latest patch for the game because I found I had less lag, disconnects, and other problems.

Before today when using the shortcut with the ‘-repair’ command it would be the normal window like when you launch the game and log in. Now it has a completely new window and after attempting to repair for a minute or two the program stops responding. Here is a screenshot of it.

Mini Evon Gnashblade

He randomly talks, as he always has since introduction. The problem is, now he randomly speaks likes from the Orrian zombies, instead of his own dialog.

emg~

I’m not sure what you mean. The video shows him saying “I was the favorite”. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mini_Evon_Gnashblade The wiki has it mentioned that he does say this on occasion. I got a Mini Evon Gnashblade with festival tokens during the Festival of the Four Winds event and that is the only line I have ever heard him speak.

To me your post implies that the mini speaks a random line that is sometimes spoken by risen enemies, but the video shows him speaking a line that, as far as I know, he is suppose to say.

Or are you trying to say he speaks his own line(s) but with the voice of a risen? I don’t see how that would be possible unless a voice actor recorded the line(s) while speaking in a risen voice and/or they specifically edited the sound recording to alter the voice. If there is a risen enemy that speaks the same line I can see there being a glitch where the game is using the wrong sound recording for the Mini Evon Gnashblade that randomly speaks the same line.

I don’t really know why Anet still didn’t apply this. Maybe you’re right they think they’ll get more profit by having people buy multiple of these items. But maybe there’s no one suggested it yet. Even to you having this change may never get a hassle to let your characters to sit to bank everytime you log-out. It’s better to give your players quality of life changes rather than making others to buy multiple of your stuff just to get more convenience and other getting tired and leave the game.

I did say I would also like infinite use items as account unlocks so I didn’t have to use the bank to transfer it between toons. I was explaining why I think Anet has these items the way they are, and my opinion is they can make more money from it.

It’s a bit rude calling people who like to buy a few of these things “lazy”. How is it any lazier than not wanting to spend a minute or two going to your bank?

Read my post again. I said “people who want more convenience”. The “lazy” part was struck through.

Of course you didn’t say anything about calling people suckers for buying multiples of these items, which was also struck through.

To be honest it would be nice. It is a bit annoying when I switch characters only to realize I forgot to put something in the bank because it can take a minute or 2 each time just to load into the freaking map.

And there isn’t aesthetically room for a third piece of information in that layout.

Here you go.

For me, the extra space there looks exactly like something to put “projected profit” into.

(Also, while making these images, I once again saw that having leading zeros would’ve been really good for improving clarity).

For some reason every time I look at that image I think the button reads “Sell Insanity”, which would be more accurate LoL.

Reintroduce all mini's please?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

With mini’s going toward account unlock’s, can we get a fresh supply of them? Especially for someone like me, whom runs alt’s across multiple accounts, I’ll now need multiples of them all. There simply isn’t enough supply for that. And, for every new account and new player, they’ll be left without.

You are completely mistaken and must not have read the dev blog. Minis are going to become account unlocks. Once you use a mini to unlock it you will have access to that mini on all of your characters. After unlocking a mini it will be destroyed. But this means any extras you have you can sell if they aren’t bound.

https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/miniatures-and-finishers-in-your-account-wardrobe/

Let’s start with inventory space. All minis can now be treated as account unlocks in the Wardrobe. The new mini section in the Wardrobe allows you to convert any mini in your inventory to an account unlock. Unlocking destroys the mini from your inventory, but once it’s unlocked, that mini is available to all your characters to equip simultaneously for no additional cost.

This means it will be easier, and much cheaper, since you only need 1 of each mini.

Edit: I may be mistaken about your post. After reading it again it seems you have multiple accounts and transfer your minis between them. Well I too would like Anet to re-release a lot of the minis so I can work on my collection, though 1 account is enough for me.

Oh yeah, the dev blog said that minis can work just like they always have from your inventory. The only way you would lose a mini is if you used it to unlock it for your account. So you should still be able to transfer your minis if you don’t care about any achievements or having it in your wardrobe. The downside is that once you remove a mini from your bank collections its entry is removed so you’ll never be able to put it back into your bank again, which means you have to carry them around in your inventory.

Mini-pet changes in upcoming patch

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

I doubt mini pets are being removed from trading in the trading post. They have their series 3 available still which gives you 3 random minis from the series, and series 1 and 2 were available during the 2 year anniversary sale in the gem shop (possibly to increase supply before the changes happen).

It’s possible they may still come out with a series 4 mini pack which means players will end up with multiples of the minis. I don’t think Anet is going to make it so the supply eventually dries up and players can never trade minis again.

Mini pet trading has been very popular since GW1 and if Anet took that away it would really upset players.

There have been other threads about the changes to minis in the feature pack, but so far I haven’t seen any of these concerns addressed by Anet staff.

What I’m wondering about is that the blog said “You’ll need to take them out individually” when talking about the bank collections. Does this mean players who have a whole stack of a single mini won’t be able to remove the whole stack at once, or will they be forced to remove them all 1 at a time?

I actually saw someone in Lion’s Arch not too long ago link a whole stack of 250 Mini Queen Jennah’s. Not sure how that happened, unless you can have 250 characters slots on a single account. LoL

Infinite use stuff should be account unlock

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Personally I usually have all my characters logged out in front of a bank so it’s not a big deal for me.

However, I too would like this stuff to be account-wide unlocks. But you gotta look at it from Anet’s perspective.

Some players are enticed to buy more than 1 of these gem shop items to avoid the “hassle” of having to transfer it between characters through the bank. Some of these items are rather pricey, such as 1,000 gems each for infinite use gathering tools. I would have bought that permanent Airship Pass when it was available for a week or so not too long ago but I couldn’t buy gems at the time, or get enough gold to trade for gems. The Airship Pass was also 1,000 gems. And some of those other items the OP lists probably cost about 1,000 gems a piece. Some of the items in the OP’s list come from black lion chests, which means people need to buy a ton more keys if they want get more than 1.

So from Anet’s perspective they can make more money from suckers people too lazy to use their bank people who want more convenience.

Not at all- it’s kinda a strange line of thought, but one I found interesting. If players could trade items for items, that would either bypass taxes, or they’d have to cook up a formula for taxing them, which would probably be a bit of a mess.

Or nerf more stuff in the game so it’s even harder to obtain gold.

The one thing I always liked about the GW community is that you don’t often see people in a social area engaged in heated arguments about real life stuff like racism, politics, religion, what Russia is doing, etc. In some other MMOs (ESD in STO for example) it’s all you see people doing.

I never understood how people can sit in a game and troll people by starting arguments about touchy subjects and continue the debate for hours…

Edited for typos.

… What?

Shing Jea Monastery & Great Temple of Balthazar, among others, were notorious for this behavior, and ArenaNet even indirectly referenced them and towns like them in earlier gamescom demos for GW2.

Edited for less use of capital letters.

Thanks a lot! It took me years to forget about Shing Jea and GToB.

Alright I confess. The GW community is the same as any other MMO. Full of elitist jerks and people who like to argue all day. But there are still a lot of nice players.

There have always been a level of elitism in GW though. But at least in that sense it’s related to the game.

Overall the community in GW has always been very nice, and at times players will take the time to answer your questions and even help you on a quest. And if you look hard enough, you’ll find more friendly players to do dungeons and stuff with then there are elitist jerks who wouldn’t give you the time of day if you didn’t have a meta build.
