Limited-Use Finishers are pointless?

psh dont buy the perma versions, just open like 20k tot bags and get 3k uses of each. thats “infinite”, you probably wont stomp that many people in a year.

The OP said he/she already bought them so your post is not helpful at all. It would have been fine if the OP was asking for advice on whether or not to buy the permanent finishers and you recommended they just open ToT bags to get a bunch of limited use versions. Kinda reminds me of those times when someone shouts “Don’t fall down!” just after you fell. LoL

To the OP: The only thing you can do with the limited use versions if you already bought the permanent versions is to discard them. I bought the permanent scarecrow finisher and when double-clicking a limited version in my inventory I get a message on screen telling me I already have that content unlocked.

Keep in mind when discarding the limited use finishers you will have to type the name exactly in a box to confirm deletion. For example, if you have 23 limited use scarecrow finishers you would type ‘23 Limited-Use Scarecrow Finishers’. It’s very case sensitive. The ‘Yes’ button will light up when you typed the name in correctly.

None of those items have a vendor value on them. Hold your mouse over them and you won’t see a copper or silver amount in the tooltip. If it doesn’t have a value it can’t be sold to a NPC.

It would be nice if they did. Plastic Fangs, Nougant Center, and Chattering Skulls are so plentiful in the TP there aren’t any buy orders for them.

Though you can trade 1k of each to upgrade them to High Quality Plastic Fangs, Tyria’s Best Nougat Center, and Gibbering Skulls. This would save inventory space and these upgraded versions might be worth something in the TP.

Edit: For example http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tyria%27s_Best_Nougat_Center it shows it’s going for around 4 gold each in the TP on the right of the page.

Not next year, no. Not months from now, no. It’s coming, and it’s coming very soon.

In fact, I’m going to a review in less than an hour, although that doesn’t set a release time quite yet.

What I wonder about is this: What if someone says something is coming “in the next couple of days” or “within the next week” or “by the end of the month” and then testing reveals an issue that delays the implementation? Would you rather hear something rather specific, like “in the next couple of days,” even while you know that it could change for reasons outside our control? Or would you rather hear “soon” and not have as solid an expectation, but also take on board that the implementation is a top priority (as was mentioned in the thread about the Currency Exchange changes)?

I feel that either answer isn’t perfect, so I’d welcome your insights. You should know that I truly do understand that “soon” is frustratingly vague and I argue against.. I mean, “I gently speak in favor of alternatives…” whenever we can use something more meaningful. On the other hand, saying something more specific can result in flaming “You promised it by XX time!” comments, because even a casual possible release time could be adopted as an absolute date/time/time zone promise.

Thoughts?

Hasn’t ArenaNet stated many times over the reason why you don’t give an exact time frame is because players would rage due to an unexpected delay? They would scream “You promised!” “You lied!” and so on.

Unexpected problems can, and sometimes do, occur which causes a delay. I think your “Soon™” is good enough. This gives you time to fix anything that might come up without everyone groaning about the update coming later than “promised”.

I have to say I was thinking of suggesting to keep the bulk amounts but also throw in a way to purchase exact amounts. I didn’t post my thoughts on the forums because I had a feeling that’s exactly what you would end up doing anyway. I only ever traded gold for gems once, but that was because I wanted to get an infinite use gathering tool and couldn’t buy gems with real money at the time and the item was available for a limited time. It’s nice to have more options just in case though. So thanks for everything.

Search feature not working

You can read today’s Dev posts about the Search function either in GD or the Dev Tracker.

Good luck.

I believe you mean this exact post by Gaile Grey https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/anet-s-lack-of-transparency/first#post4480893

I’ll quote her whole post:

Also Gaile, can we please get the forum’s Search function fixed? It’s been broken for nearly 2 years. I know there’s been heaps of topics on this, but the sad irony is that they get lost in the forums and never acted upon.

Thanks for communicating.

Gaile Grey: I’m not discounting your other comments, and thanks for them. But I have to quote that bit ^ and respond: Yes, Yes, and Yes again! By all that Dwayna holds holy, I truly wish we could get a functional search engine!

It’s no secret that the forum software has some noticeable issues. We don’t have the ability to fix Search, just as we cannot address a few other things we’d like to tackle. I’m really sorry that it can be difficult to efficiently use the forum. Quite honestly, I’m absolutely delighted when I see someone was able to find links to old threads and provide them in current thread. In fact, I often find myself wondering "How long did it take that poor forum member to find those links? )

This is something we’re looking into, and there may be a couple of ways we can address it, even as we examine both short-term and long-term solutions.

So they flat out can’t fix the search feature on the forums. Perhaps they just need to completely rebuild the GW2 forums from scratch for it to work. That’s what it sounds like they need to do. At least they acknowledge the issue and are working on it.

Fall damage is absurdly sensitive

No kidding. There are times where I take a few steps down a slot and suddenly lose half my health and my character was walking smoothly with no indication that I suddenly dropped for a split second. And then there are times I jump off a cliff with a further distance then a slope a walked down and barely take any damage at all. And then there are rare occasions where I jump off a cliff that should cause me to lose half my health at least and I take very little to no damage at all.

I’m sure some of the times taking damage while walking down a slope I never had any kind of movement increasing buff or trait active.

I do not see skill challenges on the map.

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Charrbeque.8729

To be more precise they fixed it to be an account unlock in the September 16 patch http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2014-09-16

Skill challenges now unlock on an account-wide basis rather than a per-character basis as originally intended.

That means after you level a character up to level 13 skill challenges will be available for all new characters right away.

I can confirm it to be working. Before the feature pack I already had 2 level 80 characters and I made a new character some time after the Sept. 16 patch. My new character had access to vistas, skill challenges, points of interest, etc., right away at level 2.

So if you have a character at least level 13 try logging in on that character then switch back to the new character. The skill challenges should become available to you before level 13. If that doesn’t work then try going to a map with skill challenges on your character who has them unlocked.

Can Only Make 1 Enchanted Map Per Account?

Charrbeque.8729

Can anyone confirm if you can purchase more Enchanted Spoons from the Collectibles Vendor?

And if this is the mechanic they’re going for, why not tell us instead of letting us fill up our inventories with useless map pieces? That’s not very nice.

In fact, if we are only supposed to be able to make one map why allow us to get multiples of the same piece at all? Why not get 1/4 and have it trigger a mechanic so we don’t get any more of that piece? This method seems manipulative – like they purposefully made it this way to encourage us to buy more inventory space or something.

You can’t. The NPC in Lion’s Arch only gives you an item to unlock the spoon collection achievement and it doesn’t count as 1 of the spoons you need. I’ve talked to him afterwards and he has nothing more for me. His only purpose is to let players know that you need to get certain items to unlock some achievements because they are hidden and you don’t know about them until they are unlocked.

It would be nice though if the map pieces weren’t account bound and could be sold in the trading post. This way players too lazy, or not having luck getting that 1 piece they need, would have another way to get them. On the bright side you can sell the map pieces and completed map to a vendor for a little silver so it’s not a complete waste. The drop rate of the pieces is pretty decent actually. It may take a few chests to get a certain piece you are going for, but from what I’ve seen you aren’t going to have to open hundreds of chests to get it.

I already had at least 18 locations completed also before the feature pack and would like to eventually get around to finishing the achievement.

To anyone who thinks it should be a simple fix, it might not be as easy as some might think. I’m not a developer or that great with computers but I trust Anet is doing the best they can. Just be patient. They can’t fix everything all at once. Some things just take a while to fix. Lightning pull has been bugged for a long time. Lots of complaints during the Festival of the Four Winds a few months ago. Lots of complaints again when the first part of Dry Top opened up when Living World Season 2 Episode 1 came out.

Sometimes it shoots you past the target location and sometimes you just stop halfway across, spin for a second in the air, then suddenly drop down. It doesn’t matter if you use ground targeting or pull yourself to a crystal thingy the skill locks onto when you’re close enough. It can’t be lag on our end considering the fact there have been many many players reporting this issue for a long time and not everyone has the same exact computer specs or the same same exact ISP, and especially not everyone lives in the same area.

Are Mini 3 - Pack set 1 and 2 here to stay?

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Hopefully the series 1 and 2 minis are here to stay in the gem shop. I wouldn’t say at this point that Anet has decided to change anything. If I recall other minis were available in the gem shop for a while before finally being set to a limited time and then removed. I think the mini chickenado and mini scruffy at least were available for a good 2-4 weeks before finally having a 7 day timer. So it’s possible Anet may leave the series 1 and 2 minis there for a while and eventually remove them again.

I’m guessing the reason why they brought them back again so soon after the 2 year anniversary sale is because prices on minis in the TP were going up before the feature pack released; after the announcement that minis would be permanently destroyed after adding it to your collection. Also the achievements for series 1-3 minis were completely reset and you have to get it all over again. Because of this players who had already completed the achievements had to obtain some or all of the minis again since they no longer owned them.

I really do hope the series 1 and 2 minis are here to stay so I can buy them when I’m able to get gems. It would also keep a supply in the trading post and help keep prices down, especially since adding it to a collection for the achievements removes them from the game permanently. Before the feature pack you could get the achievement and then resell the minis since you no longer needed them.

im pretty sure that the only thing holding you back in such a venture would be someone at anet, and not public opinion…

Or just developers being well….. developers.

In regards to the couple changes I noticed, Gaile Gray herself had in fact confirmed those changes were made on the date of the patch I mentioned, if you bothered to read her posts in this thread.

Changes I mentioned:
1. The quantity slider defaulting to max quantity when you go to sell something
2. When buying an item it defaults to the lowest seller so you can buy instantly

Changed in the September 22 patch.

I can understand they get busy and can’t include every little detail in the patch notes. What I would like to see is changes made based on player feedback being added to the patch notes so people are aware when it was fixed. This would prevent players who don’t notice the changes from continuing to request it only to eventually be told it was already fixed, basically the stuff that Anet is aware of being the most important to us. If ya fix it, please let us know if possible. For minor stuff that nobody talks about a lot and stuff that isn’t as important to players, I can understand that stuff being left out of the notes if needed.

The September 22 patch notes only mentioned that free trial accounts would be prevented from entering WvW maps, so I found it odd they didn’t include the nice changes to the trading post. If the patch notes were longer I can see them leaving out something here and there.

It is nice to see Anet doing better with player feedback being taken into consideration and they are communicating a lot more with us. Overall it’s a major improvement to the quality of life in the game.

Failing Coiled Watch for farming

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

@ fellyn….They stated such when there was a HUGE discussion on the Blix farm. Sorry, not sure where the thread is in here, but I’m sure you can find it.

Also, Blix was not nerfed, nor was Coil. Both had the event timers adjusted, that is all.

Just because you think it’s a nono does not mean ANet agrees with you.

In my earlier post in this thread I linked to and pointed out where Anet stated it. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Failing-Coiled-Watch-for-farming/first#post4434496

There are really two sides to this, and when it comes down to it, you are both right – and you are both wrong. Both sides have the right to complete the task that they set out to do (completing or not completing).

Challenging another player’s play style is the issue here, and since this revolved around an event that was designed to be completed, it is being changed so that the original design of the event can be carried out.

When something in the game (such as this event) changes negatively as this has, we need to step in and remediate the toxicity. The byproduct of this change happens to be that a champion farm is being slowed, but since that was the originating factor for the toxicity, it’s unavoidable.

I encourage players to remember that not everyone has the same goals when they play, and sometimes they will clash.

Personally I would consider failing events for the purpose of farming loot from enemies is in fact an exploit. Players are doing something in the game against the intended design for the purpose of personal gain, and Anet is OK with that. If that’s the case then Anet needs to reinstate every single account from the past 2+ years that were permanently banned for doing something in the game not intended for the purpose of self gain. It is not fair they allow people to exploit some of the game but ban others for basically doing the same thing. (no I’ve never once had my account banned for exploiting the game in any way)

Or they need to go through the game and make changes so players are playing the game the way it is intended.

This whole thing is ridiculous. If the environment for the Blix farm didn’t become toxic with players “trolling” or insulting each other, Anet wouldn’t have done a thing about it. And they haven’t anything about the Coiled Watch farm, but they probably will soon because players just can’t learn to get along. And if they do something about this farm, the players will move on to another location and Anet will nerf that farm if it gets out of hand. And it will keep happening until people can learn to stop treating each other like kitten.

Personally I don’t care if players want to farm all day in 1 spot. But when it interrupts me and/or others who are trying to accomplish something and then get screamed at and viciously harassed when we are playing the game the way it was designed to be played, something needs to be done about it. Those who follow the rules and do things right should have precedence over those who are doing something not intended, whether or not it’s allowed.

I went to to location in Lion’s Arch on another character but there was no item to get, even after using the completed map to show me where the item is. Missing from the patch notes:

When you go to sell a stack of items in the trading post it now defaults with the quantity slider set to max amount so you can instantly sell a whole stack at once.

Not sure if this was changed the same day or earlier, but I noticed when buying an item it defaults to the lowest sell price so you can buy it instantly without having to manually select it. I think the new TP had it default to the highest buy order so you had to manually select lowest sell order to buy instantly, otherwise you end up placing an order and having to hope someone sells it for that much.

Thanks Anet for the improvements, but next time please include this stuff in the patch notes. For things like this that players ask for it would be nice if we knew about it.

Coil Event Fail Toxicity

It’s interesting to note that you can turn off map and normal chat. That way you won’t have to see what these people are saying to you. That’s what I did and it works wonders.

that doesnt help people who want to complete the event for their living story and have to be subjected to insults for wanting to succeed, or the people who are just running through the map and come upon a champ/event and have to be called troll and other horrible things said to them for doing an event. Rewarding failure…just aint right…the toxicity is there whether you want to look at it or not.

Failure is always rewarded. The farmers were too big to fail so Queen Jennah gave them a bailout.

Joking aside, I was concerned that this event would eventually become a toxic environment for players trying to complete their living story mission.

Oversight or poor judgement on Anet’s part? No idea, but hopefully they do something about it before things really get out of hand.

To be honest I think it would be best for Anet to nerf all of these popular farm locations where players intentionally fail the event in order to farm it. Anet has said before that players have as much right to fail the event as players who want to complete it, although failing the event to farm it isn’t playing the game the way it was designed. I predict they will nerf this Coilded Watch event farm soon and the farmers will move on to another location as always.

Yeah. It seems you can only get the item once per account. All map scraps and the completed map are account bound. After you get the treasure there is no more use for any of it.

They could have at least made the scraps tradeable so we can make a little off them from players who would prefer to buy them instead of going all over the game opening chests, though the drop rate is really good. I had a completed map in a single day. Or at least make the scraps stack in your inventory/bank. shrugs Whatever.

Failing Coiled Watch for farming

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

I don’t see Anet doing anything about it because they’re fine with players failing the event to get more loot.

I don’t think they’re fine with it. They patch up the failing events (eventually). However they will not intervene in real time unless there is griefing or exploiting. That would be griefing with deliberate malice rather than just annoying others when pursuing personal goals (loot).

The game is generally well designed and players usually share full rewards when working together. It makes the exceptions more noticeable.

Here is your proof straight from Chris Cleary – Game Security Lead, in regards to the intentional failing of the Blix event: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/About-that-blix-exploit/first#post4315297

A fix is currently being prepared for this issue.

While the behavior (design) of this event was acceptable in the past, changes in the game over time have created an environment around this event that has become increasingly toxic (for the community) due to unintended use/change of mechanics.

Players should not feel that they are in the wrong for completing an event (or event chain), and that is what is happening with this event. The respawn timer for this event will be significantly increased.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/About-that-blix-exploit/page/5#post4318436

Right there in bolded letters “both sides have the right”…..to complete or not complete the task. As I said, Anet doesn’t mind that people intentionally fail a certain event so they could farm it, even though that isn’t the intended purpose of the event. They will step in only if the environment becomes toxic, so I don’t think they will do anything with this event in Frostgorge unless players wanting to complete the living story start clashing with the players who want to farm the event.

To be honest I wish Anet would have thought ahead on this situation and not place living story entrances at locations of dynamic events so all this crap could be avoided.

Search feature not working

in Forum and Website Bugs

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Are there any plans to fix the search feature? I am sure it is useful having so many threads repeating the same topics, because people can’t find the topic already started.

This thread was created “about a year ago” according to the first post. At this time I’m gonna say they have no intention of ever fixing the kitten thing.

I just had to find a thread so I could reference a post in it. I knew 1 word that was part of the thread title. When searching for a single word for anything you get NO results. If you search for the exact full name of a thread you’ll almost always get results. I finally found the thread I was looking for…….ON PAGE 76! If the kitten search feature actually worked it would have saved me a lot of time from having to find it page by kitten page.

Another issue is if you’re typing something into the search box and type too slow it will suddenly say “no results found”, deselect the search box and before you know it you’re going back 2 or 3 webpages in your browser. Try it out for yourself. Type a single letter and wait a few seconds. The stupid thing will automatically show the results even though you never hit the enter button or told it to search.

Failing Coiled Watch for farming

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Charrbeque.8729

Just now, I was running around on my engineer hoping to catch up on the living story episodes since I thought the event failure farming was gone, but it seems that it’s still going on. In fact, people got together, purposely scaled up the Coiled Watch event, and failed it for the champions that spawn. Normally, I really don’t care for farmers, but when they purposely fail events that block progression for other players, then we have a problem.

Yep. I went to the nearby waypoint a couple weeks ago to continue working on map completion for Frostgorge Sound and noticed the event nearby with a lot of players. So I decided to join in and help.

After a while players started telling everyone to get back and not revive the NPCs and stop killing everything. They were also complaining about a couple players who were AFK. 1 player had been lying there dead for a while and the other had been just standing there off to the side, strangely not being attacked by anything. I wasn’t sure what was going on. Another player came up asking what was going on and said he/she needed to continue a story at that location. So I started attacking stuff to try and complete the event. After a couple minutes someone got mad and said “fine, let’s just kill everything”.

Time ran out and the event failed and I got a PM from the player trying to do their living story. They were thanking me for forcing the conclusion of the event so they could continue on. Personally I actually wanted to complete the event for the Karma and whatnot.

It was 1 farm somewhere else that Anet nerfed where players were causing it to fail over and over so they could get more loot. The reason was because at that event the environment became toxic with players completing the event to intentionally disrupt the farmers. Anet’s stance they posted on the forums about that event was basically “if players want to fail the event for more loot then that’s fine with us”.

So unless players at the location of this event in Frostgorge Sound start arguing and cursing each other out all the time, I don’t see Anet doing anything about it because they’re fine with players failing the event to get more loot.

Will 'Belinda's Greatsword' come back?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

ANet has made questionable decisions regarding the pricing and design of some of their gem store products, but it’s always been in favor of the gem store, not against it; making a glowy Belinda’s greatsword skin permanently available for free (no matter what hoops you have to jump through) directly competes with and undermines future sales of non-glowy version.

I could see it if it was reward for temporary content though, but definitely not permanent content like Mawdrey is.

They only put skins in the store, not anything that comes with stats. Belinda’s Greatsword in the gem shop was only a skin and nothing more. What was data mined about the Delaqua Family Blade is that it’s a full ascended item with stats. If they sold weapons or armor in the gem shop that had stats the entire community would be up in arms (no pun intended) with claims of the game going down a pay-to-win route.

If the Delaqua Family Blade turns out to be nothing more than a skin then yes, I can see it going into the gem shop. But if it turns out to be an ascended item with stats, like I said, we’ll have to go through a scavenger hunt to get what’s needed in order to obtain it.

Charrbeque.8729

I doubt the Delaqua Family Blade will be an actual ascended weapon, it’s more likely to be a plot sword like Caladbolg; it just seems highly unlikely ANet would introduce a free skin that is almost identical to a gem store skin, particularly when it’s the free version that has the special effects on it (typically we would see reskins of standard armor with special effects tacked on in the gem store, not the other way around).

Don’t be so sure. They may make it part of the living story and make players go through extreme hoops in order to craft it.

For example, the back items released with the living story content. You get various items from doing the episodes and have to work your way toward crafting them.

I can see Anet pulling a stunt like that for a Delaqua Family Blade ascended weapon.

Not false advertising. I bought it just after it was released in the gem shop. I get random veggies every day. Though I wish the quantity was increased. I get 1-3 vegetables per node each day and that’s it.

Not sure who it is that places these nodes that we can buy, but again, it’s just a quick dump somewhere, with seemingly no care for how it looks. They even float.. so it’s not enough that they are growing out from slabs of stone, they float above them too. How about putting a tiny bit of effort into the things we are giving you real money for, designers/devs/whoever it was that did these placements? Come on, shape up a bit, this looks like a quick sloppy job with little to no effort placed behind it.

Whups.. That’s not even where those are supposed to be. These will be fixed in the next update.

I bought a home portal stone the day it was released. I have the ore, wood, and new plant nodes from the gem shop as well as the quartz crystal, candy corn, and sprocket nodes and the krait obilesk shard (place of power). I find the home portal stone convenient to get there. I’m able to complete my daily gathering just from all that stuff.

I’m hoping they eventually release a bank and trading post thingy we can buy for our home instance. If they ever do it will make the stone so much more useful. Best get 1 now while it’s on sale just in case.

Will 'Belinda's Greatsword' come back?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

chances are good, that it will come back someday later, but it is just only the skin.
There has been data mined also the existance of an ascended weapon with the name “Delaqua Family Blade” with the same skin, but just with an animated air bladish aura around it, which is still uncleared, how to get this in the game, as the greatsword skin alione is just the weapon without that air aura around its blade.

Maybe we will see somewhen later on Season 2 becomign the Delaqua Family Blade become a reward for finishing one of the seasons episiodes or in general for finishign the whole season 2 due to marjory beign so heavy involved in this whole season, that she wants to reward us at the end with a special weapon from her family, that belonged maybe earlier her father or so who teached Belinda to fight with the sword…

Don’t just all just wild speculations now, but it would be possible this way ^^

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Delaqua_Family_Blade info on the wiki from what was probably data mined

The Belinda’s Greatsword skin will probably make a return eventually. It was heavily requested when episode 2 of the living story was released and there was a second entry of the Iron Greatsword in the wardrobe that looked like Belinda’s sword. Soon after the second Iron Greatsword entry in the wardrobe was removed and during the 2 year gem shop anniversary sale they finally made the skin available.

(I bought the Belinda’s Greatsword skin)

Adrenaline has been BUTCHERED!

in Warrior

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Honestly. I use to use Signet of Rage (elite skill) all the time for the swiftness, fury, and might buffs. They did increase the passive amount of adrenaline gain with it while it isn’t on cooldown. But now I find myself having to not use the signet at all for the buffs just so I can gain adrenaline a little faster.

It would have been nice if they didn’t screw with the adrenaline system and instead made other warrior elite skills desirable. In fact, from what I’ve seen, most warriors use Signet of Rage for their elite and nothing else. The same thing for most other professions: 1 single popular elite because all the others suck. I wish Anet could do something about elites, especially racial elites, to make them more desirable and give us more build diversity. But instead they are forcing us to stick with what works and tweaking things so we are even more likely to not try anything else.

Edit: I also use to use Signet of Rage for the swiftness to get around the map faster, but I found it’s better not to use it so I avoid it being on cooldown when I enter battle. I wound up having to put a couple more trait points in the Discipline line and take the ’Warrior’s Sprint III’ trait for permanent swiftness while wielding a melee weapon (though the trait doesn’t give as much as SoR, it’s better than nothing).

Thanks for the advice. I waited and it took a few minutes but it finally finished the repair and showed the launcher window for log in.

Edit: As stated, before the Feature Pack the -repair window would be the same launcher that you log into. It would show the amount of files checked during progress, but this new repair window only shows a progress bar as you can see in my screenshot in the first post. It doesn’t show the amount of files checked or left to check anymore.

There have also been at least 1 thread about mini pets unequipping themselves after changing dye on your armor or outfit and your finisher will reset to the default basic finisher after dying stuff.

You may be on to something about changing out equipment. I noticed yesterday for my ele I’m working on leveling that suddenly my pirate outfit I was wearing was no longer dyed after I had bought equipment from the trading post to upgrade my gear.

When my outfit undyed itself the first time on my main character the only piece of equipment I had changed was his weapon.

Strange. I too loaded my build and the site was defaulted to a non English language. I click the American flag at the top of the page and it reverted to the homepage in English. I then reloaded my build in the browser address bar and everything is still in English.

The outfits you see in your wardrobe that aren’t available in the gem shop were in fact available before. Anything that has an entry slot in the wardrobe was.

Some outfits are, weapon skins, armor skins, and mini pets are only available for a limited time. Some are tied to special events, for example, the Witches outfit is a Halloween outfit. And Halloween is coming next month so some of those outfits we can’t get right now may be available again soon, and possibly more.

My one gripe about the gem shop is that they don’t keep most of the stuff they release available at all times. If you don’t have the money to buy gems when it’s available all you can do is hope you’ll be able to buy some gems if they make it available again later. There have been mini pets I wanted from the gem shop since I’ve been playing but wasn’t able to buy gems at the time they were available, and so far at least some of them haven’t been released again and it’s been months (mini piglet, mini jaguar cub, mini jungle wurms 3 pack, etc.)

I don’t like the idea of weapon skills being locked and all of them automatically unlocking as you level up.

I liked it the way it was before, being able to unlock them myself. When I was a new player to this game I saw it as an incentive to unlock all weapon skills for my profession as soon as possible. While working to unlock weapon skills it made me stick with a weapon for a while causing me to familiarize myself with it. By the time I had all weapon skills unlocked for all weapons I was able to decide which type of weapon is best for my playstyle.

Now with weapon skills automatically unlocking for each weapon as you level up, there is no incentive for a new player to ever try out a different weapon. Some players may just use whatever type of weapon their character starts with and stick with it for a very long time before they decide to ever try out anything else.

Actually there was no incentive for player to trynew weapon and goes back to 11111111111111111 so he would stick with what he already had unlocked.

And that is especially true for people that already wanted to play “big sword warrior” “longbow ranger” “mace+shield gardian” “staff ekemenalist” as they would unlock that and had o desire to go back to 111111111111 with other weapons.

Any player that just wants to pick whatever weapon is popular for their profession and just spam 1 all day doesn’t belong playing GW, in my opinion.

GW has always been a complex game that requires a good build, tactics, strategy, and the skill to use it. If they make the game easy because it’s too hard for noobs it ruins it for the rest of us.

I admit I’m not nearly as skilled as other players and sometimes the game is a bit too complex, but I never give up and keep trying. I use to have a lot of trouble with easy jumping puzzles that most players could do on their first try. Now after much practice I can do a lot of those jumping puzzles, and more, with little to no difficulty at all.

If everything was too easy for me when I first started playing I would have gotten bored and moved on to something else. It’s the will to overcome a challenge that makes the game interesting, as frustrating as it can be at times.

Is there any menu where I can look for past feature descriptions? I’m missing the old Hints menu where you could see the hints discovered. I think it would be useful to new players to check how a specific feature works if they missed the pop up message when it was unlocked.

Apparently the hint system was retired with the September 9 feature pack. I can’t seem to find any kind of “help” system in the game that keeps track of tips and suggestions on game play. I can see this as a problem for new players who may have forgotten about something and want to refresh their memory.

I never completed the achievement for hints but I did have most hints done. The retired achievement doesn’t show how many hints I obtained, unlike other historical achievements which shows the max progress I made for what I made progress in.

Can you right click and destroy a spoon without penalty? My Siege Commander’s Spoon (the only spoon I have) didn’t disappear from my inventory when I found it; I don’t want to make space for 21 spoons as I work on the collection.

Anyone know for sure?

Yes. Once it’s counted for the collection you can get rid of the item. Before you discard it look at the item to see how much a merchant will give you for it. Some go for 10 silver, possibly more. You can right click the collection item and select to view the collection achievement it belongs to and it will open the hero panel so you can see it was counted.
