Wow. They just fixed that event, finally. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2016-06-28#World_Polish_2
And it’s still impossible to complete?
I was in the middle of selling all my crafting materials I was hoarding. The exact moment I click the sell button for my walnuts, the game cracked.
It didn’t crash on my uncle and I. We just got disconnected and haven’t been able to get back in.
Edit: I tried again and was able to get into the game. Sadly, my walnuts didn’t post in the TP, so I’ll have to try again.

Hello Guys!
Can you help me please, today when im try to login my GW 2 account, im got an instant message: My account is suspended… At this time i dont know the proper reason! NO Im not a hacker/cheater/exploiter, i never spamming and selling ingame, and i never break the GW2 laws. Im opened a new ticket at the Arena.net support. I havent got any respond yet. I red a lots of forum and ppl’ who bought the Heart of Throns from a nonretail sellers have the same situation. Maybe thats the reason. I bought my from G2A.com online market at 2016.05.11. with G2A Shield. (i have pictures/screenshots from the transaction) Im use this site to buy CD-KEYS for two years ago, without any issues.
Im checked my GW2 account at the website, and under the HEART OF THORNS ther isn’t anymore the ACTIVE status icon, only the “BUY” button…
Do you have any ide what happend? I dont want to loose my account. I have more then 1000 hours gameplay (1 legendary weapon, full ascended character, and lots of more things) I payd for the original Gw2 at 2013 summer when the pre launch started. I payd for about 10 ORIGINAL GEMCARDS! And now i payd for the Heart of Thorns expansion.
Any way i have a lots of time and money in this game and i don’t want to loose it all.
Thanks for your ideas. Nagy Attila Gábor
The problem discovered and solved.
The seller was bought the game from directly the Arena.net, BUT HE DID A fraudulent purchase, then try to sell it cdkeys on G2A.com. Thats why my cdkey revoked and the expansion deleted from my account. Im trying to get my money back from the G2A.com because my purchase deffended with a “G2A SHIELD” but i think they want to GET RID OF ME!
First they colse the resolution without an proper reason. Second time they dont want to accept my ticket! Now im try it again and last time.
I can confrim it guys, as you told me, never buy anything from a nonretail seller.
I have learned the lesson on my own loss!
Anyway i get back my old account, but my expansion is lost.
Thanks for your help!
Just a warning to everybody else, do not purchase from that website. They actually do obtain serial keys for games through fraud.
We’ll be drowning in fun with the next expansion.
The issue is you didn’t end up in the instance of the map your squad was actually in.
After joining a squad, right click the squad window and there will be an option to join them in the map they’re in. This will switch you over the instance they’re actually in, as long as the instance isn’t full. Edit: You probably need to already be in the map your squad is in before you can switch instances to join them.
I found this out recently after joining a squad for Silverwastes. I exited and reentered the map multiple times but it kept putting me into the same dead instance. So I left and joined a different squad in LFG and had the same problem. I eventually asked why I couldn’t get in with them and that’s when they pointed this^ out to me, and it worked.
Make sure to leave out any spaces, differentiate between O and 0 or any other similar alpha-numeric characters, and if you continue to experience difficulties, you can contact the Billing CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Request’ for assistance.
Good luck.
In my experience, it’s always the number 0, never the letter o.
Also in my experience you can’t leave out spaces on gem cards that have a lower value. I think it was the $15 or $25 card I bought before and had an issue where, when leaving out spaces, the button stayed grayed out because there wasn’t enough letters/numbers for the key. With the $50 gem card it has more characters for the key and you have to leave out the spaces.
So try putting the key from the card in exactly how it is on the card. For example: xxxx xxxx xxxx instead of xxxxxxxxxx.
In my Gilded Hollow guild hall, I noticed an invisible object when our hall upgraded and the scribing stations were moved. It’s over by the gathering synthesizers. It has collision and can be jumped onto. So it’s rather small, like a post of some kind.
When the scribing stations and NPCs were over there, there were canopies and other things that were removed when our hall upgraded. So it might be something leftover that wasn’t removed from the environment.
That thread title lol.
Here is my Sylvari ranger, Dances With Salad
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World_Experience#Provisions_Master
Have you spent at least 20 points in it? You need to have spent a total of 20 rank points in Provisions Master to get it to rank 4 to have auto-loot unlocked. You get 1 point to spend each time your increase your WvW rank, so that’s 20 rank ups. (At the time of writing, I still need to gain 2 ranks to unlock auto-loot myself, so I can’t say at this time if it’s working or not.)

Since ArenaNet has nothing to do with that website, there isn’t anything they can do to get your money back.
If that website refuses to give you a refund you’ll need to contact your bank, or credit card company, and dispute the charge. Explain to them that you got scammed and the website refuses to give you a refund.
Unfortunately, probably not. Last I saw on the official GW1 support forums before they shut it down, was their account restoration tool was completely broken. They would have needed to completely rebuild it from scratch and didn’t have the resources to do it. This was an official post by a dev over there.
You can still ask support though.
I went to Fields or Ruin for the Hawke Liberator (First tier Dawn legendary) and the event to rescue the villagers wasn’t up. After running around the map for a bit, someone called out that the event was up (it was daily fields of ruin event completer).
The event actually gave me credit for it and I managed to complete the first collection for Dawn legendary.
However, the first event to prevent the Harpys from kidnapping the villagers never happened. If that event fails the other one to rescue the villagers comes up.
/ip 64.25.33.37:0
I am missing the seashell which is the last piece I need for this collection. However it seems whenever I found this “seashell” it is listed as unidentified and I can not use it. I’ve had this problem for months now.
It just dawned on me. You got the Unidentifiable Object trophy item. It uses the same exact icon as the Seashell.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Unidentifiable_Object
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Seashell
So, with the patch came a new WvW track to get hero’s weapon, which is fine and all, but how exactly are we going to upgrade them into mistforged hero’s weapons?
remember, the old way was to spend WvW tournament tickets, mistforged hero’s weapons costed like 300 or so tickets (i forget), if you didn’t have that much you could get the downgraded hero weapon, then upgrade it using a gift of heros and some elonian wine and such in the mystic forge.
So I saw absolutely no reference to gift of heroes at all, Anet, where and how do we upgrade these items now?
Mistforged Hero weapons did cost 300 WvW Tournament Claim Tickets. (I managed to get the Greatsword last time)
You do have a point. They added a reward track for the Gift of Battle. It’s possible they’re working on it. It doesn’t make sense to add a reward track for the Hero weapon skins but no way to upgrade them to unlock the Mistforged versions.
I will say it is nice they added the Hero Weapons to a reward track so we can actually get them now. Before, you had to participate in a limited time event, and were rewarded with the tokens based on how well your server did. This event hasn’t come back for a couple years or so.
For the Seashell, try Hermit Crabs in Caledon Forest, southwest of Mabon Waypoint, along the beach. That’s what’s listed in the achievement http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Trash_Collector
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Seashell
Note: In some areas creatures that would normally drop Seashells drop Shells instead. In these areas the creatures will not drop Seashells.
Some creatures that can drop a certain junk item will only drop it in a certain area of a certain map, instead of all creatures of that type dropping it anywhere in the game.
You can contact customer support, but they most likely won’t restore your account. It’s specifically stated in the rules that you’re not suppose to share your account. And this is exactly why you shouldn’t.

The list of authorized retailers. Just select your country to see which companies are legally allowed to sell the game. If it’s not on the list, it’s probably a scam website.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/retailers/
TL;DR: If you’re AFK; your avatar should be idle.
I’ll further clarify.
You are in no way allowed to use a third party program or script to accomplish this part: “your pets are doing the killing and your mastery is doing the looting”.
If a GM moves you or speaks to you and you don’t respond – then you are partaking in unattended gameplay and may have your account warned/suspended/terminated (depends on how many violations the account had previously). Pet Kills & Macro Looting Excepted
Game Security GMs are trained to remove afk players that are interacting with the game, environment, or other players from the game. Pet Kills & Macro Looting Excepted
Game Support GMs are trained to handle such appeals while being acutely aware of why/how Game Security is handling accounts. Pet Kills & Macro Looting Excepted
Pets doing the killing and mastery autoloot kicking in without you interacting is perfectly fine.
I’ll pitch in on this thread, as there seems to be some confusion about this situation.
The auto-cast feature was never intended to be used as an AFK farming mechanism, and usage of the auto-cast feature while AFK is fine as long as it is not used to facilitate unattended gameplay.
Mastery auto-loot also stopping players from being flagged afk seems like a bug instead of a feature, and I’ll be sure to bring it up today while we have a chat about this internally.
1) Using skill (1 or more) while AFK
2) AFKing in a place where it is beneficial for your character to be at
3) Unresponsive to interaction with GMsIf all 3 of these apply to what you are doing, you may get actioned for it.
If you set a skill, such as healing, to auto cast, park your character at a location to farm enemies, and not respond when a GM shows up, you can get in trouble for it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Please-a-clear-statement-re-AFK-farming/page/6#post6162437
This one by a dev is rather long.
-snip-
The 3 rules above aren’t just for your protection, they are for everyone’s protection. GMs have been trained to identify and handle these situations, it’s one of the first things they learn. GMs are overly generous on the amount of time that players are given to respond.
-snip-
(Automation is still against the rules, unless you are using it to play music in-game)
The bottom line is that AFK farming is against the rules because it counts as unattended gameplay. The game mechanics involved are working as intended and they’re not going to take them away. But when you use the mechanics to automatically farm enemies for long periods of time, you might get actioned for it.
What’s happening is your framerate is dropping as you’re turning the camera while moving.
Open the game options window and drag it to the side, then look at the FPS in the bottom corner of the window while moving and turning your camera. You’ll probably see it drop suddenly.
Possible solutions:
Make sure you have the latest graphics driver.
In the game options, go to graphics options. Under Advanced Settings, click the drop down for Settings Preset and select Auto Detect. This will automatically set your graphics in game to what the game has determined to be the best.
Hope this helps, and good luck.
Edit: This actually happens to me every time I enter my guild hall and start moving before everything in the environment loads. Often times it happens when entering a home instance, and sometimes in various other maps in the game. NPCs will even be invisible for a moment even though I can see their names floating in the air.
When turning my camera while moving, I get the same bit of lag as you. My FPS does drop too.
After everything in the environment loads, including NPCs, trees, buildings, etc., the game smooths out and works fine for me and my FPS goes back up. Although my FPS can constantly go up and down throughout a map, it still plays pretty smooth once everything is loaded and rendered.
(edited by Charrbeque.8729)
The previous event, Bandit Invasion, seems to be the same way. Even with only 1 other player there, the bandit for the bounty spawned as a champion. Thankfully other players showed up.
And that Vic the Iron was a real pain in the neck. He wouldn’t stay still. The only thing he did was occasionally shadowstep to me and constantly lunge forward (indicated by the orange marker on the ground to show his lunge path). There’s no way in hell I could have done it by myself.
It was inevitable. NPC’s never get bathroom breaks or the chance to shower.
What you’re seeing are the fumes coming from some stinky NPC’s.
I like the voices. It makes the game feel more alive.
“Urge to kill rising!”
So I won’t be muting player chatter.
“I’ve obtained the awesome!”
The voices in this game are well done.
“Look at this! So pretty.”
(edited by Charrbeque.8729)
A lot of MMOs do this. They want you to play that content that awards that currency in that map to get the special items from that map. If we only had gold, players wouldn’t do events in Silverwastes, Verdant Brink, Auric Basic, etc. They’d just get the gold in an easier way and go to those maps to buy the items from their special vendors. A lot of content wouldn’t be played and they wouldn’t bother creating new content because there wouldn’t be any reason to every play it.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Game_updates/2016-06-01#General
The inactivity timer is no longer impacted by autoloot.
It’s a good start. Autoloot will no longer prevent the game from logging you out for being AFK.
The achievements for miniature series 1, 2, and 3 were changed when minis were added to the account wardrobe. They told us up front that we would have to start completely over for the achievements. Meaning, even if you had completed 1 or more achievement you’d have to do it all over again.
Players use to buy/sell/loan minis for the achievement. So players who already had part of a collection done or even completed had to regain various minis they no longer had.
There are a couple issues:
1) Minis are permanently destroyed when adding them to your wardrobe. This made the supply go down and prices went up (quite a lot for certain minis) when the update happened.
2) Currently the only way to get these minis is from the Toy Miniature Egg from black lion chests. The drop rate on the eggs is horrible. A few months ago I bought 50 keys from the gem shop and only got about 2 or 3 eggs. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Toy_Miniature_Egg Of course it gave me common minis I already had. (might have got 1 rare, but still I already had it)
3) Since the Toy Miniature Egg has a chance to grant 1 mini from any of the 3 series, your chances of getting a Mini Jackelope are extremely low, meaning you are a lot less likely to get the mini you want. Previously, they sold the series 1 at a time in the gem shop, so when you bought a series 1 you would only get a mini from that series.
Edit: The minis series from the gem shop gave you 3 random minis from that series. But the Toy Miniature Egg only gives you 1 random mini from any of the 3 series. Again, causing your chances to get what you want to be extremely low, and the supply on certain minis to also be low. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Minis_3-Pack_%28Set_1%29 And for a while the series 3-packs had a chance to drop from black lion chest. But that was, obviously, replaced with the Toy Miniature Egg.
IMO, they really screwed us over on this one.

The only third party app I know of that is specifically allowed by ArenaNet is Overwolf.
I’ve never used it though.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Overwolf
From searching around, GW2 Helper looks like it’s just an overlay app, putting various info on screen about the game that you normally wouldn’t see (such as the exact amount of hit points an enemy has, displayed as a number on their health bar). It doesn’t seem to have any hack or bot type features from what I can tell.
I have seen other players say ArenaNet is OK with overlay apps as long as it doesn’t give an advantage or automate gameplay. I’m not sure about it though.
I went back to Fields of Ruin for the Hawke Liberator for Sunrise 1 to see if I can find the event not bugged.
Well there was an orange shield icon on the map and the final villager was there, but he wouldn’t leave when talking to him and the harpy kidnapper was nowhere to be seen.
/ip chat command: 64.25.38.197:0
It’s definitely a different instance, as the /ip I reported a few days ago was 64.25.38.113:0.
So it seems that even if you get into a different instance in Fields of Ruin, the event is always going to be bugged with 1 villager needing to be rescued.
After the update today I try to do this event and it’s still bugged at 1 villager needing to be rescued.
If you look at the first post of this topic, 6 months ago, this event was already bugged….
Welllll………I noticed somewhat recently a 3 year old thread about this exact event in Fields of Ruin was revived. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Rescue-the-villagers-and-defeat-harpy-kidnappers-bug
It’s the exact same problem: the event is stuck with 1 villager needing to be rescued. It would be nice to have it finally fixed after more than 3 years of being completely broken.
Went back to Fields of Ruin to see if I could get lucky the event wasn’t bugged.
There were actually 5 villagers to rescue. Another player was there working on it too. We managed to rescue and escort all 5 villagers to safety. The villagers and other NPCs had some dialogue then they all left the area.
But……..I didn’t get any event completion credit at all. No pop up for bronze, silver, or gold reward. No karma, no experience, no coins. Absolutely nothing. I even followed the villagers northwest to that little outpost and they despawned.
So even when the event isn’t stuck and can actually be completed, it doesn’t give credit at all.

So based on what I’m hearing, the points I would accumulate by eating the tomes (to amass all the HP’s I’d normally spend on the sub-level 80 traits – even though they will remain unspent when I eat the level 80 stone), they cannot be used or spent on raising the Dragonhunter line.
If that’s the case that would mean there is a difference in mastery points (ones you’ve earned prior to level 80 and those earned afterwards).
My test with the level 36 still showed unspent points to be used even though my Character was a level 80 (testing the stone.) Wondering if I finalized the boost if those point would vanish and I’d have to start from scratch to gain DH traits or if those points would remain for me to spend.
I would hate to roll a new toon, eat all the tomes to gain HP’s (not spend any), then eat the level 80 boost and find all the HP’s I had banked were gone or could not be used to advance the DH line.
That is correct. Whether you use tomes of knowledge to level a character up, or use the level 80 boost, you will still have to play the game to earn hero points to unlock your elite specialization.
I used tomes to level up my Revenent to 80 right after creating it, and didn’t get the elite spec unlocked.
You only get enough hero points to unlock all of your core specializations from leveling up to 80. And you need to unlock all of those specs before you can unlock your elite.
how about the auto loot mastery is ONLY active in dungeons, fractals,WvW,raids and disabled in open world. problem solved
Autoloot is not the problem, the issue is that player activity is not needed to farm events/mobs
apparently it is. just disable autoloot mastery like i said in open world. and this problem will be resolved. or make it so if your pet kills things without you hitting it your self u wont get credit
Disabling autoloot in open world would just anger the majority of people who dont engage in this behavior. Changing game mechanics to where actual player involvement is necessary to gain loot and exp would be a better alternative to discouraging and preventing this kind of behavior. Allowing people to tag an enemy and sit out the rest of an event and still get full credit is ridiculous. Equally ridiculous is allowing people to gain loot and exp from their pets/minions while they do nothing at all.
I agree. It wouldn’t be fair to completely remove a game mechanic from a single game mode just because some people are abusing it. That would be like telling players they can no longer use necros in PvP because some abuse the mechanics to be too powerful.
Instead ArenaNet should focus on making adjustments to mechanics to discourage abusive behavior while maintaining the mechanic’s core functionality for players who play the game as intended.
Another suggestion I have is to make it so pets, minions, and any other entities summoned by players, do not give any EXP or loot unless the player actually attacks what the pet/minion/entity attacked, meaning you only get stuff if you actually attack something yourself. This way if you’re AFK you’ll get absolutely nothing by having only your pet do all the work.
Some players may prefer to stick with only what the game offers in terms of mechanics and functionality. So I’m assuming at least some of them won’t want to risk using macros and/or third party software to fully automate gameplay while they AFK farm. There’s too much risk involved and if detected the punishment might be even harsher.
What they could do: after a few minutes of not interacting with the game, you would stop getting loot and EXP from pet/minion kills until you start playing again. This could discourage AFK farming.
Would love it if crafting was account wide. It’s kinda annoying having to craft weapons on 1 character, armor on another, and trinkets on another. It would be awesome to have all my recipes and crafting progress available for all characters on my account. Then they could increase the amount of crafting licenses in the gem shop to allow you to have all crafting schools available for all characters. Because with only 3 or 4 slots, you’d have to constantly switch schools to craft everything you needed with 1 character.
The downside: people wouldn’t be able to level up new characters from crafting, because progress would be account wide. They’d actually have to (gasp) play the game instead of spending tons of gold. Or get tomes of knowledge from PvP, daily logins, etc.
Edit: typo
(edited by Charrbeque.8729)
There is now an official statement. In short: Everything the “anti afk farming” people have said is correct, and everything the “but I was just using game mechanics that ANet provided” people said was wrong. Do afk farming and you will get suspended when caught. And if you still keep doing it, worse things are likely to happen.
Here is the link to the post of someone who got suspended and posted the official answer. Link -> Afk farming is not allowed
Well good sir I believe my post from the lead support trumps yours.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Ranger-Pet-Botting/page/3
And he actually confirmed that it’s not OK to AFK farm. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Ranger-Pet-Botting/page/3#post6093187
To translate, EphemeralWallaby said
Tl;dr intentional mechanics that allow pet kills to give experience and loot does not equal permission to afk farm.
And the game lead said
This is absolutely correct……..
The problem it seems is some people don’t realize that the “=/=” symbol EphemeralWallaby used stands for “does not equal”. You take that symbol out of the equation, and it looks like the dev said it was OK to AFK farm, in response to Emphemeral.
(edited by Charrbeque.8729)
So if I understand this right… You are allowed to afk farm with pets, as long as you return to your pc every so often and tap “W” to move forward a little to prevent you being kicked out and that’s ok?
You’re just trying to find every excuse to say you shouldn’t get in trouble for it.
You must have missed the part of his/her post where the GM said
……Attempts by our GMs were made to contact you in-game to see if you were actively playing but there was no response. With that, we must assume that the actions were being automated while away from the computer……
If they send you a whisper and get no response, then come back later and you’re in that same location and still won’t respond to them, then they’re going to assume you’re not actually playing the game. So they didn’t suspend him/her just because the account seemed to have no activity. A GM in game actually went to the location of that player and tried to get him/her to respond in some way.
Your character is so ugly, goldfish crackers don’t smile back.
so i guess doing the 9 rings game in guild wars 1 was botting!
Guild Wars 1 didn’t have an idle timer and as I recall, 9 rings only required you to have an item in your inventory so really no comparison.
Actually it does. The AFK timer in GW1 is 10 hours.
There really is no comparison though. The 9 rings game on the Shin Jea boardwalk during certain annual festivals was actually designed to AFK. All you needed to do was make sure you had tickets in your inventory, pick a circle, then stand in it.
Ranger pets and necro minions weren’t designed for players to AFK while using them to farm with for extended periods of time. They were designed to give you loot (with auto loot) and EXP when killing stuff even though you never attacked what they killed. If you do it for 15 minutes or so once in a while you’re probably fine. It’s when you do it for hours on end, day in day out, it becomes a problem. It doesn’t matter if the AFK timer logs you out of the game, then you log back in, and walk away, every time you get kicked.
The problem is people aren’t using common sense.
Just because you can AFK farm by using game mechanics designed to function a certain way, doesn’t mean it’s OK to do it.
What would happen if you told a judge “My car was designed to go 150 miles per hour, therefore I should be able to drive that fast wherever I want”? Your fine for speeding would probably be increased and/or you’d serve jail time for your arrogance.
There’s a difference between going 5mph over the speed limit on the highway (which is generally allowed) and going 50mph over the limit just because your car is capable of it.
except that AFK farming wont kill you, and others around you, if you were to get in a head on collision at 150MPH. Apples and Oranges.
Laws are written for a reason. Rules in a game are different, and when the system the company makes violates the rules, is it truly the players that need to suffer due to it? No.
Instead, said company needs to address the rules or fix the broken system. Targeting players for it at this point is not the correct path. There are no 3rd party programs/tools in use, there are no ‘tricks’ being used to violate the game, game files, or servers. Its all built in. And that IS the point.
The difference in consequence is irrelevant. The point I was making is that, just because something is designed to function a certain way, does not mean you have the right to do whatever you want.
It has always been against the rules to farm for extended periods of time without being physically present at your computer. It doesn’t matter if you use a 3rd party program, or in game mechanics.
Claiming ArenaNet designed the system to violate their own rules is the dumbest thing I ever heard. They designed the system to function a certain way, not for players to abuse it. That’s like saying car manufacturers build their cars to violate speed limit laws. Cars are designed to go real fast, not to go too far over the speed limit.
You have to use common sense and take responsibility for your own actions. The players are the ones making the conscious decision to AFK farm, not ArenaNet.

Verdant Brink Insight: Canopy Over Pact Encampment
Probably not a big deal. The only thing there is the mastery point. You don’t even get an achievement for completing this “jumping puzzle” and there is no treasure chest to open at the end that resets daily. So once you get the mastery point, there is no reason to ever go back there again on any character since you can only get the point once per account.
Ask them if they can close the new account and transfer HoT to your old account, instead of a refund. I think I’ve heard of them actually doing that for someone before.
I was just in Verdant Brink and here is what happened:
Nightfall came.
About a minute later “Miniatures hidden due to rising player population”.
A couple minutes later I get the volunteer message and there were only a few players that I saw anywhere in the map.
I didn’t volunteer at all. I stayed.
Daybreak came.
Canopy threats neutralized: 0/5
Several minutes later I get the volunteer message again.
So WTF happened? The map instantly fills in about a minute with players then a couple minutes later almost all of them are gone?
Either the megaserver is broken, or everyone immediately went to the LFG tool to join an instance that was organized.
This taxi into maps nonsense is really starting to get on my nerves. Even with a full map, nobody wants to stay and do the events. They’d rather go to another instance.
Checked again today and the event in Fields of Ruin for ‘Hawke Liberator’ for the Sunrise 1 collection is still stuck with 1 villager needing to be rescued.
Finished up the last couple events needed for this collection and the only one I need is the dynamic event for Hawke Liberator.

I’m working on Sunrise and Twilight and have found the following bugs:
Sunrise I: The Experimental Daysword
-Hawke Liberator: event completed, no reward
Event is stuck and can’t be completed. It shows that 1 villager remains but is nowhere to be found. I don’t know how long it’s been like this, but it’s been stuck for at least 24 hours. I went there on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 for the Tiger Den in the area to get that achievement completed. I noticed it was stuck then. Today I went back there to get the spoons from the renowned heart vendor nearby to finish that achievement. A few hours later I went back to see about doing this event for the precursor collection only to find it’s still completely stuck and can’t be finished.
6 months ago this thread was started and this event is still broken. Sunrise is the only legendary I’ve ever started so I don’t know about the other events being broken. I’ll skip this one for the time being and see about getting the rest of the events needed. If I find any more events for this collection broken, I’ll post here about it.
This event takes place in Tanglerot Hills in the far northeast corner of Fields of Ruin.
When I typed /ip it shows 64.25.38.113:0
Event on the right side of the screenshot. I ran all over killing harpies and didn’t find a harpy kidnapper or villager to rescue.
i agree, i want norn elite specs to be useable!
Same here. During development of GW2, Norn were marketed has being able to actually transform into various animals and fight like that. But the elite transformation skills, such as bear and wolf, all only last 30 seconds and have a cooldown of 240 seconds. 30 seconds isn’t long enough to make good use of them and add that with the extremely long cooldown and the skills are completely worthless.
And the Charr elite skill, Hidden Pistol. That’s even more worhless than the Norn animal transformations. You’d be much better off using something that actually does something other than making you roll backwards (which is basically nothing more than an extra dodge).
Edit: I’m not too concerned about “balance”. ArenaNet is pretty good at that, and if they ever decide to rework and/or replace racial skills, I’m sure they’ll make them awesome without being too OP. It’s just a matter of when and if they actually want to do anything.
P.S. In my opinion, Norn elite transformation skills could be balanced and function similar to engineer kits. Basically you stay in the transformation until you die or end it manually. It would be really nice to actually fight as a bear or wolf all the time.

I would like to suggest that a name purge happen so we can free up names from inactive accounts.
Thoughts?
This topic comes up every so often. ANet’s made the same comment multiple times:
- There is no such thing as an “inactive account” — players might come back at any time. We’d hate for people to return only to find out that we took those from them.
- Nor does it make sense to release names on banned accounts — we don’t want players to start a new account and avoid some of their punishment by having access to their old names.
That’s even without talking about the expense of identifying which accounts would count for a purge or the effort spent explaining to people why they lost their names or fixing mistakes.
Finally, why should ANet do this? The only reason any of us wants these names freed up is if we lack the creativity to create other names. Releasing more names isn’t going to make that job easier: it will still be first-come, first-served, so only a few people will benefit from this undertaking.
In short, this is too much work to cater to the minority of players who don’t want to spend a little more time figuring out a name.
Not only that, but some banned accounts may have character names that were well known trouble makers. It could create a case of mistaken identity where someone who recognizes the name might think it’s the same person that got unbanned, and end up harassing the player.
There have been times where I tried a few names that turned out to be taken, but I always manage to come up with a name I like. It isn’t hard if you put some thought into it.
Personally I don’t create names that reference pop culture of any kind because it makes me feel unoriginal. I also don’t make my characters look like something from pop culture, like a particular character from an anime. (“Cosplay” creeps me out actually)
Happened to me too earlier today. I was in Verdant Brink when the meta event hit. I took a chopper up the the Wyvern Matriach and waited a few minutes to see if enough players would show up to fight the boss. Then suddenly I get hit with the volunteer thing. I waited a few more minutes and it seemed like nobody was going to show up, so I volunteered. Naturally I lost whatever map progress I had and there were maybe 4 or 5 other players there to fight that boss. We did manage to defeat it, but, none of the other bosses were defeated. It just seems like VB has been dead for quite some time now. I almost never see all bosses killed. I’m lucky if there’s ever enough players to kill 3 at best.
Edit: The megaserver is broken, or at least not working as it should be.
Tell me, why is it that whenever I waypoint into the Silverwastes by myself, I always end up in a map with only a few players and almost no map progress? And yet, I can open the LFG tool and see people taxiing into a map that is 80% complete. Why the hell does the game always insist on putting me in a dead map when there is obviously room in a more populate map where people are actually doing the events?
Ironically, SW is the opposite of the HoT maps, and by that I mean I almost never get the volunteer message. I can run around there for 2 hours doing what little I can when the progress gets close to the Breach event then suddenly all hell breaks loose and tons of players show up to do the events. Then of course after the Vinewrathe event is complete, almost all of them get taxiied into another instance that is close to the breach.
It really is aggravating and is why I don’t spent much time in the Silverwastes or HoT maps anymore. It comes down to either waiting who-knows how long until enough people show up, or the game telling me there map population is empty when clearly there are players doing the meta events.
