Moto's Finger-unable to obtain

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I did it yesterday. It’s a pain in the neck but very possible.

The funny thing is the achievement says “play a tune without falling”. Well I played the tune, the door opened, then I fell. LOL. Thankfully the door stayed opened and I got credit for the achievement, got Moto’s Finger, and the other hidden rooms in there.

Spoiler alert: 1 of the hidden rooms there will drop you onto a floor covered in small spikes that deplete your hearts over time. There is no way out of the room other then to die and respawn back at a checkpoint.

My brain gets dyslexic under pressure for things like this. For about a half hour of trying I realized I was playing the notes backwards the entire time (133233 instead of 332331). Then a few more minutes to have the correct notes memorized. Then a few more minutes of getting in a hurry and facepalming because I clicked the wrong note. And eventually I got it.

Moto’s Breath/Finger can only be used once per zone. Breath is pretty useless, but Finger actually deals damage. After getting it I went ahead and finished the whole zone since there was a hidden furniture shop below the Yeti I needed for the achievement, and the Wizard is right after the Yeti.

Moto’s Finger deals a big chunk of damage to the bosses, including the cages. So after getting it, if you want to farm the zones for babubles, save the elite skill to make the boss battles a little quicker.

It’s one of those ‘after all the trouble I went through to get it, it was soooo worth it’ situations.

Edit: Tip: if you’re having trouble seeing the clouds you need to jump on, open the game options, go to the graphics tab, and move the slider for Gamma all the way to the left (it should show as 0.5 to the left of the slider when you do this). The game will be a bit darker and look lousy, but it makes the clouds much easier to see. Don’t forget to reset the Gamma afterwards.

Selling SAB

Honestly saying nothing about this until a fix was actually implemented would have been preferable. If only to act as a deterrent. Giving the okay to this will now only encourage the practice further. It doesn’t just trivialise the skins & infusions, it trivialises all the players who are completing tribulation mode the intended way.

I hope a fix is implemented sooner than the end of the festival. It should really be a priority.

Yep. I opened LFG yesterday to advertise a group for the daily and saw the amount of SAB sells. For a second I though of selling w2z3 as that is what I was farming but thought against it as it did not seem right but now I am going to cash in big time which still doesn’t feel right but hey, it’s allowed.

On the bright side, the LFG advertisements didn’t increase until after ArenaNet said it was OK to do it. This means most players aren’t willing to risk their accounts for taking advantage of something that isn’t working as intended. Since it’s officially OK to do it now, nobody has to worry about getting banned for it.

And if we didn’t get official word on where ArenaNet stands until later, or not at all, the complaints would be a whole lot worse. People don’t like it when they’re silent about an issue. So Chris’ response is appreciated, at least by me.

To be honest, I think we may be making a big deal out of nothing. It really isn’t hurting anything for people to pay for tribulation runs.

This is allowed behavior; as it was designed to function that way.

Unless your policies have changed recently, that is incorrect.

Anything that enables a person to play the game without actually playing the game is a problem, such as using third party programs to automate game play.

Going AFK with turrets running isn’t technically an exploit, but players should be playing the game in good faith.

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/After-reading-these-forums-slightly-worried/first#post277742 Gaile Gray

We do not consider “not answering a whisper” as an indictment. Please do not worry about this; as long as you legitimately are playing, or are not gaining undeserved rewards when not playing, you’re just fine.

This one was very clear https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/Has-there-ever-been-an-official-response-on-what-is-considered-botting/first#post204144 Regina Buenaobra

Anything that automates game play to the point where you are able to not actually play the game as-intended (example: you can walk away from it) is considered a breach of the User Agreement.

Using ranger pets or necro minions to kill stuff while not actively playing the game is considered “Extended Unattended Play” and players have been suspended/banned for it in the past.

I don’t know about now, but it was a major problem in the past in Dry Top and Silverwastes. Often times these AFK players with pets/minions are using macros and/or bot programs to prevent the AFK timer from kicking in and logging them out of the game.

That last bit, which I put in bold, is the difference between the two.

Going AFK for whatever reason and leaving the game running is one thing, but when you’re using a macro or bot program to make sure you don’t get kicked (and/or to heal/pick up loot/tag mobs etc.) then you’ve crossed the line into what Anet have always said is not allowed.

I always thought it was pretty clear myself, but I know this rule has caused confusion in the past. Taken all together it seems to me what everyone from Anet has said is this: If you start up just the game on it’s own, log into a character who is out in the world somewhere and then walk away that’s fine and whatever happens is allowed.

As soon as you add the use of another program, whether it’s a script or a macro you’ve set up on your keyboard or whatever to influence what happens while you’re away, whether it’s healing you ever so often, tagging mobs or simply moving around so you don’t get kicked by the AFK timer then you’ve crossed the line into what they have always said is not permitted behaviour – automating gameplay.

(And part of the reason the first one is allowed and the second is not is that they’ve put in functions, like diminishing returns and the AFK timer, to prevent players being able to take advantage of situations like this.)

There is something else I forgot to mention, that needs to be taken into account:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Advanced_Logistics Completing tier 5 of Pact Commander mastery.

You now have the option to have loot from creatures you defeat be deposited automatically into your inventory. This ability can be turned off in the Options menu. Your party now has a permanent 33% swiftness bonus in cities.

No need to come back every few minutes, ever, to pick anything up. Let your pet/minions kill and all loot goes straight into your inventory.

It also works for world boss chests as well as chests in fractals when completing the instance – no need to walk over and open them because the rewards are deposited into your inventory automatically.

This is how people can actually gain stuff with their AFK pet farming. Without auto-loot unlocked all they’d get is exp which isn’t worth the time if you don’t need it. I’ve also heard there is at least 1 third party software out there that can give you an auto-loot feature for the game, even though you don’t have it actually unlocked.

While it may seem harmless to AFK farm with your pets/minions, it is a problem, and regardless of using third party software or not, people are gaining something from it. Otherwise they wouldn’t bother with it at all.

If this is their stance on the exploit, then instead of fixing it, I’d say it’d be better to just remove the restriction on joining in progress. At least that way the people buying their runs have essentially wasted their money, while all the legitimate players who don’t feel like they’re able to beat Tribulation mode and refuse to exploit don’t get left out.

On the plus side, since this exploit has been given the green light for abuse, guess I can start handing out free runs without worry. Got a few guildies who’d appreciate it I’m sure.

That’s not a bad idea at all. ArenaNet has always been OK with people selling runs for dungeons and whatnot as long as players don’t start scamming each other all the time.

SAB Tribulation mode is extremely hard, even looking up a guide on how to do it. I managed to do world 1 zone 1 solo using Dulfy’s guide, mainly to get to the furniture shop for that achievement. It was incredibly frustrating.

Some players are really good at it and others want to do it but aren’t very skilled. So I agree – remove the restriction of joining a party already in progress and let players sell runs for it. It would actually reduce frustration in the game among players and everyone could benefit from it.

The main issue here is that a lot of people consider there to be an exploit and Chris said they’re OK with people doing that. My only concern is that some players might misinterpret what he said. Most players do have enough common sense to understand what he meant though.

FPS drops since Update (3/8/16)

Hmm….maybe it was a Windows update, or the updated version of Display Driver Unistaller that improved things for me. (I been using that to wipe out my graphics drivers and software and reinstalling everything, multiple times over the last week or so trying to get things working better)

While doing the Shatter event today for the daily the GW options window showed I was getting around 12 FPS but the game ran pretty dang smoothly with no stuttering. GPU-Z seems to show my graphics card is running a few degrees cooler with just the desktop and nothing else. Before I was getting around 40-42 degrees Celsius with the game running or just the desktop. Right now with the game running it’s about the same, so my GPU was never having a problem with temperature.

Overall at this moment things are running better due to some update somewhere, or a miracle.

Tomorrow I should get my RAM in and I can put together my new PC, which will be a whole lot better since my comp is a few years old.

Alright, it’s about time I commented on this.

As of now we don’t have a problem with players doing this. While the late join is unintended, if players want to pay for this service, that’s fine. It does trivialize the skins some, but this isn’t any different than the skins from purchasing a raid run or a dungeon run (which we also are ok with). As long as the transaction is completed and players are getting what they paid for, fine.

However, that doesn’t mean that we aren’t going to fix this. A fix is in the works right now, and that fix may happen before SAB closes or be there for the next time the festival opens.

If players were using an exploit to solo a raid and selling runs for it, would you say the same thing? That it’s “OK to do this” and fix the exploit whenever without taking action against people exploiting it?

And you say the fix might not happen until the next time SAB is available again. So, 2.5 years from now?

Sure. With SAB it’s just for some silly weapon skins. But I bet if it happened to raids you’d be pretty ticked and put out a hotfix ASAP for it.

This may have been about SAB only, but people can interpret what you said as it’s OK to do this type of stuff for anything in the game.

This is really, really, getting out of hand. Tons of people selling SAB Trib runs in the LFG tool.

I’ve managed to find a workaround for myself, so i hope it will help others.

Been getting horrible FPS rates, managed to fix it by changing my refresh rate in the game options. Now getting decent frames.

It comes back everytime you load into a new zone, so you have to do it again.

edit Manged to play completely stable by making a Nvidia profile for GW2 in the Nvidia control panel. changed:

Refresh rate :max available
Power : Max performance
VSYNC: Adaptive

It won’t work for everybody.

A) My monitor has a refresh rate of 60 hertz. That’s it. There’s no other rate available.

B) VSync only works on monitors that support it. If your monitor doesn’t it’s going to cause framerate drops. I use to have VSync off until my uncle said I shouldn’t even use it. Turning VSync off improved the performance of the game quite a bit for me.

My issue with low FPS is that it isn’t the same everywhere in the game. I could be running around Straights of Devistation and get 50+ FPS, but when in Rata Sum near the bank I get around 18-20. Standing in front of SAB right now I get around 15FPS and that’s just standing there doing nothing.

During the Svanir Shaman (Frozen Maw) world boss event my FPS can drop down as low as 7. I get around 18 FPS during the Shatterer world boss event.

I can be in the Royal Terrace in Divinity’s Reach, up by the asura gate, staring at the wall and get around 30FPS. But if I just turn my camera to face the mystic forge it suddenly drops to 18FPS.

The framerate issue seems to be map-wide, as in, you don’t need to have all the special effects and players in front of you on screen for your framerate to drop. 50 players could be on 1 side of the map and you could be clear across on the other side with nobody around and nothing special happening and your FPS won’t be as good as it should be.

For example, around SAB there are tons of special effects from the decorations, player texture, back skins, weapon skins, etc. and my framerate is bad. I go down to the bank/trading post area below and there are only a few players in the area but my framerate only goes up maybe 2-4 FPS.

I also proved it to my uncle. In Metrica Province he was getting 90+ FPS. I told him “check your framerate while standing in front of SAB in Rata Sum”. His FPS dropped down to 30 or less. That’s how friggen bad this issue is.

I think ArenaNet should change their policy on selling runs for raids and other multi-player content.

As pointed out, at least some people selling runs for SAB are using an exploit. It really makes me wonder about people selling runs for raids.

Raids were meant for players to work together to complete. The rewards are devalued for those who actually do go through the whole thing because some players are joining in and doing little to nothing to get the same rewards and just paying someone else to do the work for them.

It completely devalues the game as a whole when people aren’t playing it how it was meant to be played. What’s the point of raids, dungeons, SAB, or really anything in the game, if people are allowed to just pay someone else to do all the work for them? It really isn’t fair for those of us who actually do things the hard way.

Oh, I know, I mean I’m looking now and I can’t find any current topic on the issue that hasn’t been removed and isn’t cached.

Stickied at the top of general discussion: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Policy-on-the-LFG-Tool/first

Players may use the tool to sell a spot in a group, but they may not use it to sell or trade items or for any other unintended purposes.

So basically, yes. It’s legal to sell runs for dungeons and other content that requires a party. Although it’s “buyer beware”.

However, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Policy-on-the-LFG-Tool/first#post4771535 It is not OK to advertise in LFG for access portals (such as taking people to gather from your home instance nodes) or guild recruiting.

Or click Start, then settings. Then click ‘About’ at the bottom to see what Version and OS Build you’re running.

Tequatl jump pads now require Gliding Mastery

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

The pads are now functioning like the newer ones at the Shatterer event and others that are spread around several other zones. While they do allow for glider deployment mid-flight, the glider use is not actually needed to reach the destination. The requirement for glider mastery to launch from the pads is completely unnecessary.

When they first added jump pads around central Tyria, there would be a message when trying to use some of them with it saying that you needed to have basic gliding unlocked. The jump pads wouldn’t work for me even though I had, i think, up to stealth gliding unlocked at that time. (There was a jump pad somewhere in Mount Maelstrom I came across with that issue) Some players were able to use the jump pads just fine while others got the message that basic gliding had to be unlocked (even if you did have it unlocked).

The problem was fixed, but from what the OP describes, it sounds like the bug is back.

Veteran Player Appreciation
For all players who registered the core Guild Wars 2® game prior to January 23, 2015 and who upgrade their account by prepurchasing and registering any Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns edition before Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns‘ launch, we will add one additional character slot to your Guild Wars 2 account.

Pre-Purchase Clarification
If you purchased the core game from a third party, we are unable to provide a refund. However, if you registered the core game between January 23, 2015 and June 16, 2015 and upgrade it by prepurchasing any Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns edition before Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns‘ launch, we will add one additional character slot to your Guild Wars 2 account.

That’s it. Just 1 extra free character slot when pre-purchasing HoT, if you had the core game registered by June 16, 2015. If you pre-purchased the deluxe or ultimate edition you would have received 2 free character slots. Once HoT went live, the chance at the free slot was gone (other than the slot that comes with the deluxe and ultimate editions).

The gems came only with the ultimate edition and weren’t free. The ultimate edition cost $25 more than the deluxe and the only thing it had that the deluxe didn’t was 4,000 gems. So basically you got 4k gems for half price.

If you purchased the basic edition you can upgrade to the deluxe through the gem shop in game (I believe this is still true today no matter when you purchased the basic edition of HoT). If you purchased the basic or deluxe editions there is no way to ever upgrade to the ultimate edition, although you can create an entirely new account with the ultimate.

So the extra free character slot (when meeting certain criteria) is the only thing they promised, and they delivered. My GW2 account dates back to May 2014 and I pre-purchased the HoT deluxe and got 2 free character slots instead of 1.

Shared Inventory Slot Feedback [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Charrbeque.8729

5 slots isn’t enough. I need at least another 10 more. I bought the whole 5 pack of slots since it was cheaper per slot that way. The price is rather reasonable, especially since it’s a permanent unlock for all current and future characters. With regular bag slots, you lose any you purchased for a character if you delete that character.

Also, is there any way to keep the account shared slots fixed in place at the top? I keep my salvage-o-matics in there but when scrolling down my bag slots to salvage stuff, the account shared slots aren’t visible. With a lot of bag slots, even if I minimized all slots to get to the bottom I still can’t see the shared slots when scrolling down the window. So I wind up having to move items to the backpack so I can access my salvage kits. I have my inventory set to have individual bags shown, instead of having all combined into 1 giant bag. Mainly because I have different types like crafting material, junk, and invisible bags.

So it would be nice if the shared slots remained fixed in place, always being visible.

Vendor Ascended Gear?

I use my copper fed salvage kit for green and lower items and silver fed kit for rare or higher. Sometimes I’m not paying attention and go to use the wrong kit on a rare item and it asks if I’m sure I want to salvage it. I choose ‘No’ and use the right kit for it.

What they could do for rare or higher items is have a confirmation window pop up when selling to a merchant/vendor, just like you get when salvaging rare or higher quality items. “Are you sure you want to sell this item?” It could solve the whole issue. And if you still sell it by accident then you really need to start paying attention more.

That surely can’t be hard to do.

Personally I find it more annoying to have a confirmation dialogue when buying Obsidian shards for karma (which I couldn’t care less about). And yet you can flog off an Ascended weapon for 1G instantly.

Never happened to me, but I’ve been close! (had to use buy back – phew!).

So yeah, just add a confirmation when selling exotic/ascended.

Yeah. The problem with buying items back from a vendor is that if you switch to another map you lose it for good. It would be nice if the vendor buy back option stayed available as long as you’re logged into the game, with stuff being cleared out and lost after exiting the game.

I don’t understand why this is a big deal … if you have been paying attention, you know Anet adjusts for extreme situations for materials that are excessive or lacking.

Because it puts crafting and other things out of reach for new players.

They nerfed liquid gold throughout the game, mostly in dungeons, and added massive sinks for crafting materials such as guild hall upgrades and legendaries.

Players are getting less gold and prices in the TP are going up because the supply is being used up. It’s even putting things out of reach for veterans.

Some things my guild hall upgrades currently need a max of:
500 cured hard leather squares
50 elonian leather squares
1,300 cured thick leather squares

4,850 elder wood planks
300 ancient wood planks

5,150 mithril ingots
700 orichalcum ingots

15 superior runes of holding (purchased from crafting vendors for 10 gold each) so far nobody in the guild has contributed a single one (can’t blame them because that’s a total of 150 gold right there)

So, yeah. I’m sure this helps the OP understand why we’re running out of certain things and the supply on others is going way down.

There’s also a longer delay (up to five days) before mail attachments, the Black Lion Trading Company, and guild banks are unlocked. You should see a message in-game displaying the time remaining before you have full access to these features.

When they changed it so support roles had an easier time to get participation credit, ArenaNet said you would still need to attack something a little to get full credit. So you can’t just hang back and heal your team only. You need to actually hit an enemy a few times to get rewarded.

Summery of the recent AMA on Reddit: http://dulfy.net/2016/03/05/gw2-reddit-developer-ama-summary/#DungeonsFractals

Instabilities are one of the things we’re working on. We’re absolutely working on new Instabilities. We agree than many of the ones live right now are more frustrating than anything else. We really want Instabilities to be something that mixes up gameplay at higher scales and become something players need to interact or react to, and not just something which passively makes the Fractal harder.

As we develop new, better Instabilities we do plan on phasing out the old ones. We’ll likely end up with a mix of new and old Instabilities for a period though, at least until we develop enough new ones.
We are currently reworking Fractal instabilities, though we’re still in the very early stages of development on those.

There was a ‘Daily Maguuma Wastes Miner’ achievement, so I went to Dry Top and completed that. A little later I went to my Norn home instance to gather from my nodes there and got an achievement chest for ‘Daily Shiverpeaks Miner’.

In the daily achievements section it shows I have 2/3 done but only the Maguuma Miner as completed.

Swapping attunements as an ele acts as a weapon swap. Same applies for engineer kits.

Yes. Switching attunements on an elimentalist, or equipping/unequipping a kit on an engineer, will trigger any type of ‘on weapon swap’ thing, such as weapon sigils, traits, etc. And for engineers you don’t need to switch to a different kit. You can just drop the kit you’re using to switch back to your pistols, rifle, etc.

Also, if you have 3 kits on your engineer’s skill bar (such as grenade, bombs, and flamethrower), you can have up to 20 weapon skills like an ele.

Both professions take a bit of getting use to, but they are pretty fun once you get the hang of them.

Airship pass - no return?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Just checking that I’ve got it right.
The Airship Pass (on offer for one day only, folks) can be used from pretty much anywhere but does not give you the facility to return to where you used it. So it’s one way only.

Correct?

Yes, but if you speak to the airship captain while aboard, she will transport you to any city for free.

Asura gate actually. In the Royal Terrace and Captain’s Airship, there is an Asura gate that you can use to go to Lion’s Arch and the Racial cities.

@OP
The Home Portal Stone in the gem shop sends you back to your original location if you click the door icon on the right of your screen to leave your home instance. That’s probably what you were thinking of.

Edit: The reason why the Captain’s Airship Pass and Royal Terrace Pass won’t send you back to your original location is because those areas aren’t separate instances and become your original location.

The Captain’s Airship is actually part of the Gendarran Fields map, and with today’s patch we can now jump off it and glide around the map. And the Royal Terrace is part of Divinity’s Reach. You can just walk out the gate and access the rest of the city.

By now that raids were a bad idea unless they do something like blizzard did with there looking for raid thing. Otherwise your creating content only a fraction of the player base will ever see………

Sadly, that was the whole point of raids: to make it challenging so only some players could complete it. They actually don’t want raids to be accessible to everybody.

I believe a dev said somewhere a while back (might have been Reddit) that there will not be a dungeon finder type system for raids in the LFG tool. And the reason being was because raids are suppose to be done by organized teams, not pugs. (sorry, it would be too time consuming to try and find the dev post) If anything they might add a raid section in the LFG for people to advertise and form teams, but that’s about it.

Of course, plans are always subject to change and if there’s enough demand for it, they might do it. It depends on how much they want to keep raids only for the most hardcore elite players, thus locking out the average person from ever doing them.

Honestly though, a dungeon finder type system for raids, fractals, and actual dungeons, would be nice. Personally I prefer pugs because in my experience they don’t get angry and call you names when you goof up and get creamed by a boss (most of the time). They pick your bum up off the floor and y’all continue on.

Do accounts have "luck", and is it right?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

Accounts have magic find http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magic_Find#Account_bonus

The higher it is, the higher your chances are of getting rare or better items. This is why some players seem to have better luck than others in some cases.

Notes at the bottom of the wiki page:

A Q&A session with Isiah Cartwright revealed the way Magic Find works: “Everytime you kill a monster you roll on a number of tables, inside these tables are different rarity categories. Magic find increases the chances you will get higher categories. For example if there is a 1 in 10 category, and you have 200% magic find you will have 3/10 chances to get that category. This improves not just the rarity of the items you get but can also improve your chances at getting trophies and rare crafting materials like lodestones.”

It has been requested before, and I would also like it, for various armor skins that are weight specific to be available on other armor weight specific character classes. There are some nice light and medium armor I’d love to have for my Revenant. But the problem is there would be too many clipping issues to worry about if they allowed weight specific armor skins to be mixed and matched on any character weight class.

Central Tyria Mastery - no XP gain fix?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Charrbeque.8729

Charrbeque.8729

I don’t have enough mastery points to finish the legendary or fractal masteries. So my XP bar has been sitting full for quite a while. If I had mastery points to to unlock something, the extra XP I’ve been getting could be used to continue unlocking stuff. So for me, I’m actually losing XP because I’m not able to continue progressing my masteries.

If you have all masteries unlocked then you’re not losing anything because there’s nothing more to gain from it.

I think the reason why we don’t have a system where we can continue to fill the XP bar after all masteries are unlocked to earn rewards is because they might add more masteries to the game later on.

Besides, there are already plenty of ways to get spirit shards in the game.

The jumping puzzles in the old WvW borderlands maps don’t award any mastery points, so you don’t have to worry about missing any. You can check the achievements yourself in the achievement panel. Achievements that award a Tyria mastery point have a red star like symbol as part of the reward for completing it, and a green star like symbol for HoT mastery points.

Thanks for sharing. This is not an empty exercise, it’s very useful to know what you’ve valued in the past and would like to see in the future.

If you haven’t participated in these threads, I’d encourage you to add a few thoughts there, too. I’m thinking more new items than returning, but both are welcome:

New Glider Skin Ideas
Gemstore Item Suggestions

Thanks again!

Just a small example: In the ‘suggestion gemstore items’ thread, page 54 https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestions-Gemstore-Items/page/54 to page 61 https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestions-Gemstore-Items/page/61 has a ton of requests for bunny ears to come back. And I’m sure that’s not all of the pages with requests for it. In fact, from the looks of a post on page 61, apparently a separate thread for bunny ears was merged into the ‘suggestion gemstore items’ thread.

The retired BLTC sub forum also had a lot of requests for bunny ears:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/bltc/Bring-back-bunny-ears-please/first#post3953260
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/bltc/The-Bunny-Ears/first#post4062529

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/bltc/Ears-and-Tails/first#post4154046

It’s safe to say at this point the devs are well aware the bunny ears is a highly requested item, and has been for a couple of years or so.

I’ve come to the conclusion that the bunny ears is one of those items the devs want to remain exclusive, as in, only the players who got them when they were available are the only players that will ever have them.

The community is very passionate about this 1 particular item. I admit I’d like to have it myself. But it doesn’t look like anything is ever going to happen.

It would be nice if we could get an actual answer on this other than the standard “we’re reading the forums all the time for feedback”.

Diving Platform in Not So Secret

Charrbeque.8729

It’s easy once you get the hang of it.

I spent 2 days trying to get to those goggles. On the second day a mesmer spent an hour porting her friend and I up to the goggles. We both tried about 20 times and failed before they both gave up and left and I just wasn’t able to get up there on my own. On the third day I managed to get up to the diving goggles myself in about 10 minutes. Missed the water. Got back up there in another 5 minutes. Hit the water on the second try. Went to whatever other diving locations I needed and finished the divemaster achievement.

Practice makes perfect, and perseverance pays off. I’m confidant that if I ever wanted to do that JP again for the chest at the end I won’t have too much trouble getting it.

Dulfy had summarized the Jan. 29 guild chat livestream and they basically admitted that HoT wound up more grindy than they wanted. So they’re working on that.

General Stuff from Colin:
More polish in the next quarterly update. Spring update is chance to address some of the feedback from HoT. You should be able to play in a short of amount of time and make meaningful progress. We are going to take a look at that. Some areas ended more grindy than we would like.

The spring update will probably come around April, or maybe the end of March. Though it’s possible we may see some small changes here and there before the big update.

Just sit tight folks. They’ve heard your feedback and are working to make things better.

Invisible wall blocking [Merged]

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tears_of_Itlaocol

You do a puzzle placing objects on the ground on little flat stones in patterns according to what is displayed on the face statue on the wall to open a gate and access the grand chest. After opening the grand chest you go a little further to exit the dungeon through a gate. The problem is there’s an invisible wall afterwards that won’t allow you to continue on. The gates all close behind you and there is no way to go back through the dungeon to exit through the way you originally entered it.

I wound up having to use a waypoint since I was completely stuck where I was at.

The screenshot illustrates where the invisible wall is after you exit the mini-dungeon past the grand chest. The red line I’ve added shows about where the invisible wall is. It goes straight across from left to right. (my character is standing against it)

Believe it or not the Norn race were meant to be shapeshifters with beast forms relating to their Spirits of the Wild. They transformed into were-bears a lot in GW1.

GW2 Norns have them as elite skills with long cool downs. That and norn NPC’s/enemies in-game rarely transform.

What a way to go… but maybe the norn had the potential to have that flavor you’re looking for?

During development of GW2 they clearly advertised that Norn can transform into a bear and other animal types.

What we got was a major disappointment.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/List_of_norn_racial_skills#Elite

Can’t be used under water. All have a 240 second cooldown. All last only 30 seconds. They are completely useless (to me) and almost nobody ever uses them.

I wish they would rework them to be similar to engineer kits, where they last as long as you want, or until downed/defeated. They could change/rework the ‘weapon’ skill bar so they aren’t too powerful.

Knowing ArenaNet they’d rather just replace the skills instead of reworking them, like they did with the elite guardian skills Tome of Courage and Tome of Wrath, which had long cooldowns and lasted a very short time. They were a type of transformation skill that replaced your weapons skills and changed something about your character (having a floating magical book in front of you).
