I see TC attacked us on FA BL earlier to make sure they could lose to FA 1 on 1. What is happening over there? Did everyone with a brain go do fractals for the weekend?
We don’t have brains? Is it me or does your horse get higher with every post you make?
Shine bright like a diamond. QQ
Didn’t you hear? Everyone has to play according to the ppt-focused master plan grand strategy type thing. If you want to just go onto a WvW map and fight whoever the hell you want as if WvW is a casual game mode then you get scolded on the forums.
Everyone knows that, casual.
Uggh, too much exposure to Maguuma obviously has had a negative effect on both of you.
My horse????
FA (On the weekend): “We really wish all these casuals would go away”
Fa (Monday): “Why are we ticking under 100?”
The ‘beep beep’ is TC’s Monday morning garbage truck backing up on us. I honestly don’t know where they find all of them.
I see TC attacked us on FA BL earlier to make sure they could lose to FA 1 on 1. What is happening over there? Did everyone with a brain go do fractals for the weekend?
TC isn’t playing too smart, which is allowing FA to get away with a lot ore than they should be.
Not since RQ visited JQ for the first time has Tier 1 has collectively lost their stool like they still are over the ZDs thing. It’s been a month and a half, find something new to talk about.
<cough> Iron </cough>
Be that as it may none of the previous recent posts to yours were about ZDs so why don’t you find something different to talk about perhaps your own match up instead of trying to troll the T1 thread.
Well put. For a guy who doesn’t even play on any of the 3 servers of BG, SOR, JQ, Chris.3290 definitely likes to play drama queen and stir the pot.
Just ducked in to see if anything had changed…nope. Same things being regurgitated 7 weeks later.
Back to playing in a funner tier.
Whoaaaaaaaa
Is that fairweathers or did FA had an influx or guilds? Or both? Because whoaaaaaa your OCX crew is stronger than SoS now (and last time, you guys were pretty even or were even weaker in comparison to SoS).
FA has had more WvW focused OCX than us for a long time. SoS > overall population; FA> number of WvW guilds. We match up pretty evenly actually.
We both probably seem stronger to TC since they didn’t have that massive late night push like they had during the Season, and FA seems so to TC because they are focusing them a lot harder.

People often transfer for good reasons. Maybe they don’t like the people or had an embarrassing episode and rumors flew.
Maybe the other major guilds spent all their time fighting centaurs in the home BL (why we left CD, a long ways back of course).
A positive server community and supportive guild always trump “server pride” in terms of quality of play.
FA is fighting tougher (fair weathers finally staring to duck?)
I have to ask what was with EXs on EBG tonight. We are openly speculating on whether FA bribed you to stay friendly, or if you are saving up to transfer. Your defense of FA’s T3 tower was epic.
That’s a lot better than just assuming you employ defective thinking on a regular basis, especially since we have to admit that such defectives were part of the server that beat us so badly last week.
The FA supertankers are doing very well. I guess 7 weeks of Easy Mode has them itching for a fight.
What’s with TC though? I know you guys have fairweather issues at times but it’s a little early to run up the flag.
I heard that FA does pretty well during the day so FA might go from Silver League sandbagger to taking SoR’s spot.
I’m impressed considering the generally poor quality of opponents we’ve seen from there (I haven’t gotten to tangle with FA’s better guilds yet. Just folks like OBEY, CL, and FtF.)
You just have to tell them that you’ll tag off if people don’t get on.
If you are repeatedly ignored, it’s time to start saving gems.
We had this problem on SoS after we lost most of our WvW guilds. You have to be verbal (spam the address, explain it to people like an adult).
They don’t have to be able to talk but they should be able to listen.
There are always those that say they can’t stand the chatter (too dumb to use volume adjust or mute) or that you should be able to lead with just map chat (because fighting and typing 60 wpm is normal for commanders, right?)
When you tag up, simply say “I’m here to help us get some points, not run a bag delivery service”. If people don’t listen, map hop. If no one goes on TS, pack up your bags because if the community wants to fight in T8 then you shouldn’t deny them the opportunity.
FA is impressive in their tenacity as much as they are as un impressive in combat. I’ve never seen so many flee open field fights with even numbers before. We thought TC was squishy during leagues but we forgot what real squish was. However you still got that good scouting discipline that might just win this for you. Unlike TC that let us take Hills without a fight (so close to a WP too.)
TSF, good fights but you need to be ALL perplexity mesmers, your necros kept getting killed.
Lastly, the two GS + hammer guys from NOPE, sorry for fighting dirty. I was on my Zerg build and couldn’t give the fight you deserved. You stayed on the map? I had assumed that the only SoS people on FABL were those BLNT guys. Also what did you expect from bandwaggon groups? Surely you’ve faced them before.
It was. SoSBl where this went.
Not a good night for warriors from NOPE, I take it.

RET is accepting Gvg’s. Contact Blaze Kasumi, Stawker or De Sade
So that’s where you went!
No, SoS’s resident international spy/contract killer is out of town again so it will have to wait for another time.

It got me to the next AP tier, which gave me a chest that gave me 5G, which I used to buy a Sigil of Momentum so I would survive more fights, provide fewer rallies to my enemies, and live longer to kill more of them.
The JP’s were done in low pop hours and I used the siege during the season, and the rest was done during the course of normal play (ruins done in slow hours to keep BL for our team).
I’ve done a lot to be embarrassed about, but the achievements aren’t one of them.
I can tell it’s Waypoint Challenge Friday for TC, where players all across the server compete to see who can open their map fastest and quadruple-click the nearest WP marker when faced with an even fight.
Bonus points for 180 degree turn to whirlwind —> rush --> bull’s charge while doing it.
Have to work on our cardio, hard to get the endurance that the runners on Mag have <3
15 times around the BL with 100% swiftness; then you are ready for the Maguuma Challenge!

1/10. Yawn.
The Season is ending on such a low note that even DeathTouch can’t get into PvF.
I think the whole reason for the season was to get us to stop complaining about how much RNG could suck (now we know it can get worse).
I think they should have given out precursors so that everyone transfers to winning servers. Those who can’t make it in, quit in discuss.
Then we’ll be on another game’s forums in two years talking about how GW2 was killed off by it’s own creators.
Moral of the Story: be happy with your greens and essence of luck; transfer less.
this makes no sense, everyone who completed the meta got the chest. No matter what server you where on.
Exactly, 2nd in Gold League got the same reward as 9th in Bronze League.
I was using satire to say that they should have made the rewards REALLY big in order to make Season 2 a frantic transferring madness that would devour the game from in the inside.
Limited dolyak finishers come and go; Sea of Sorrows always stands strong.
According to the EU guys, TC can expect exactly zero more rewards than SoR, SoS, and Maguuma.
I just hope that all the gems people spent going to SBI and JQ were worth it.
The richest part, the killer punchline at the end of this season, is that Jade Quarry and TC will get the exact same reward that SoS and Maguuma are getting.
This season was such a joke.
This is their revenge for so many people ignoring the Halloween event.
The only thing that would have been better about this is if the finisher was a covered wagon being pulled by a dolyak.

Never thought to see SBI down in 3rd. Nobody saw YB coming. EB managed to tie BP which was unexpected, and CD managed to tie DB which nobody saw coming as well.
The only thing that’s for certain is that FA needs to be voted off the island and up to the gold league if this leagues thing ever happens again.

You can’t stop tanking, but hopefully Maguuma will get pulled down for a while.

What I was getting at was that you have to make your servers community attractive to guilds & you’ll get the off-hour forces that you need, gold isn’t necessary. This will take some time but be patient, it took Blackgate an entire year to get to where it’s at right now.
On that note, obviously this entire thread is a QQ post about foreign coverage which is something that any server can obtain if their server works together.
How long have you been on BG?
A little history lesson.
Last October, within the first weeks of week long WvW; three things permanently changed WvW. HoD and ET imploded under the weight of their own egos, TW went to SoR, and BG got a single EU guild. At this point the only server that had any EU was IoJ, and their PR was so toxic that they make SoR and Mag look like Sunshine and Rainbows.
The remnants of TA and AA stacked in differing degrees on BG and SoS. DB and CD’s leading guilds also went to SoS.
SoS went on to T1 glory and the same people who imploded ET and HoD repeated history (I’ve heard differing accounts, insert your version of what happened here; I’m over it) and a lot of people went to BG since SBI was also imploded and JQ was out of the question due to it’s super-stacked (at the time) advantage.
So BG didn’t grow due to it’s “community” but to a combination of luck and good placement.
The folks who I respect the hell out of on BG are those that stuck it out in T2 when they were clearly T1 capable (WM and later SF carried SBI in T1 for long past their expiration date), but couldn’t get a shot due to the way glicko worked when they were matched with another T1 capable server in SoR
Everyone after that bandwagoned (even some dear friends that actually went there for the good PvE as well).
Are you seriously saying that BG’s community had nothing to do with guilds coming to the server & that it was all “luck”…
Dude we were stuck in T2 for months with SoR & became the only server that has gone in & out of T1 (prior to the “random” placements that A-Net later implemented) without imploding, and we did it 3 times… The community stayed strong, people saw that this was a server that wasn’t going to implode, & that’s how we ended up getting the coverage we needed.
It had nothing to do with luck.
If you noticed, I did shout out to the folks who were there through the T2 days. That’s also not the “bulk” of BG’s current population.
BG success is largely owed to being at the right place at the right time; though they had to work hard to be in that place as well.
Lots of other servers have very active and fun communities as well. To claim that your community is “superior and exceptional” and that is the only reason BG has won season 1 is utter tripe.
Give credit to your community, your long-timers, your recent transfers, your off hours and on hours folks.
To give credit to any single part of this (just as SoR and JQ has tried to do, might I add) is just rubbish.
Starting a petition to have SlothBear’s post enlarged to a poster and mailed to ANet so that when someone suggests Season 2 they can force that person to read the poster and write it out 100×.
no no, a thousand times no!
RNG is bad enough.
I really hope that the people who abandoned servers in hopes of greater rewards take a long look at these chests and wonder if it was worth destroying IoJ, DB, or leaving others.
The insane folks who have been saving mats in huge stacks and plan on getting full ascended armor in the earliest timeframe imaginable; yeah they will have a slight advantage in WvW.
However, I think since the cost of even single pieces of armor are/will be so high that the devs expect this to be a long-term project thing.
Like when they introduced ascended trinkets through laurels (for those that hate FotM like me), they didn’t expect anyone to get any of them right away.
Even those that got their daily and monthly asap and got to the first tier, there was no noticeable power creep in the game. It wasn’t like I started losing to enemies with <100hp left or any noticeable balance thrown off by gear.
The determinator between players remains skill, and the difference between exotic and ascended is small enough that skill > gear.
That doesn’t mean that in ~ 1 month that players with full ascended armor + weapons + trinkets will not enjoy advantages in whatever traits they pursue. However I promise that it won’t make a bad player beat a good player.

You mean you bought guilds right? Because it looked like you wrote that wrong.
BG is where it is today because a ton of guilds were paid to go there and then a ton of guilds followed after because of anets encouragement to bandwagon to servers.
Mmm.
Blackgate solidified themselves in Tier 1 several months ago before this whole ‘Season 1 Recruitment’ arms race started happening.
Please explain to me how this also doesn’t relate to SoR, JQ, and about five other servers within tiers 1-4.
Name one other server outside of the top 3 that paid for guild transfers.
TC never bought guilds. SoS doesn’t, Mag wouldn’t.
FA did it once, and they packed up and moved to SoR so they have sworn off the practice.
So how do you get from FA did it once a while ago, to 5 servers?
and HoD I have no idea what happened.
Look above HoD and you will see NSP and IoJ.
Last time HoD beat NSP was Week 13, back in April.
Last time HoD beat IoJ was in July, NSP won that match, HoD was second. Look at the two matches in September, IoJ beat HoD by150K and 220K.
If Kaineng hadn’t imploded NSP would have won Bronze, most likely undefeated.
Kaineng imploded long before the Season announcements, it just took a long time.
KN sticking around would have totally changed the landscape.
Both of the 2 implosion steps (WM and bandwagon exodus, and 2nd exodus (of CNB, Rx, KA) would have put SoS at the top of Silver and would have drastically changed the landscape of the Silver League in bizarre ways.
It’s almost impossible to speculate but either SBI or FA (possibly both) would have gone to Gold, Maguuma’s guilds would have x-ferred to Gold League servers for the season, and SoS would have gotten bandwagoned so hard that it would make SBI blush.
Not to mention that SBI might have imploded the final week if they were certain for Gold.
What if’s like this delve into speculation and fantasy.
Thanks for the fun week, Mag and SoS! Your roamers are always top notch and fun to fight.
Also, wanted to apologize to the few SoS guys in TCBL N Camp this morning (server time) – I didn’t realize you were only going for the POI and Vista until it was too late. Hope you guys ended up getting it!
Good Guy Tarnished Coast apologizes for PvP’ing in a PvP zone.
This is why it’s hard to hate TC.
Consider SoS, we are full honey badger against any server. We didn’t roll over for anybody during the season even when outnumbered.
If a scrappy server is what you are looking for, then we are a good place or you
All the mobility means is that they can get out of a fight quickly. There’s nothing OP about running away.
As a warrior player I don’t particularly fear GS warriors. If it’s a 1 on 1 I’m much more worried about hammer/mace-shield or Longbow/ sw-sw
Even dual axes are more worrisome. GS relies upon the enemy being bad or having poor reactions (outside of 100B, is there anything to it?)
The problem with so many of these ideas is that they want to take the contributions of other timezones out of consideration and have them make less of an impact.
It is a pain when a NA server gets EU transfers or vice-versa; but that’s part of how the game is played as well (server recruitment is a fickle mistress, but it helps).
I know tower defense games that are free on the internet; I didn’t buy GW2 for a similar experience.
When you get to Gold League and start dealing with those kind of numbers, the quality of combat goes to crap and you end up with sieges taking forever because of one guy on a single piece of siege.
PvD’ing the doors down is not fun and a waste of game time. Make the poison more powerful instead. Add bleeding stacks, I don’t care.
Compare with Supply traps that are single use and require strategic placement.
There has been no reset in EU yet, it’s a safe bet it’s a typo and the match will continue until tomorrow.
It wouldn’t make sense to reset it today anyhow.
Oh no friend, I’ve been in an even fight with you before. When you dont GS charge and run half way across the map just to avoid getting focused its actually fun. Getting kited across the map in a single fight =/= fun to fight. Sorry.
(and thats genuine, not trolling. You guys are always a tough opponent and fight against the odds. Much respect.)Yeah, I’ve never run GS though.
Anyways, we always fight even or reasonably outnumbered odds. There just becomes a point where you have to pick apart a blob and it becomes this tightrope balance of putting enough pressure on to down and kill people and prevent them from being hard-rezzed, and then having to kite when CDs are down.
Repeated burst and kite is the only way to shave down groups with considerably more people than your own. And one mistake usually costs us 1 member which, for when you run 5-8, means likely being unable to continue to harass the group cause some vital role was taken away.
Yeah, I actually have to thank AoN for this. Too often the temptation to chase down a “straggler” gets to someone and then the other two AoN appear and the guy is downed immediately. Such encounters remind our guys to keep better formation when running in a group; as well as providing great fights for our smaller havoc groups (you got to get beat in order to improve).
Any idea who we are fighting this reset?
You’re fighting each other (66% chance or better, right?) if the RNG has mercy on the rest of us.
Everyone in T2 wants a piece of SBI before they crumble.
Why do you think SBI is going to crumble?
1. Because they failed to win Silver League, a driving force for many of their transfers
2. They will be in regular contact with higher population servers.
3. Comments made by SBI posters and back-channel comments
4. Their coalition didn’t have time to mature before seasons.
I’ll add that there are many reasons why they can pull it together; their core of long-time players who’ve been through the server’s best and worst, the idea that they’ve come this far so why stop, etc.
I guess the biggest point is that they do not have an identity yet. They’ve only had 4 matches where they were significantly challenged since they’ve put together their new server.
Once they have that, then it should be easy for everyone to know who and what they are.
Just FYI, there are two AoN/AON guilds on Mag:
[AoN] – All or Nothing
[AON] – Anunnaki of Nibiru (PvE guild primarily)If you guys are referring to something that happened last night, it wasn’t us. There was only two of us on in WvW and I think we were both solo/duo roaming (I was in SoS BL all night).
It wasn’t last night, just all week. Like I said, I run with with a guild group so it doesn’t make sense for AoN to stand their ground. Just don’t get to see you guys in a fight much with the match how it is (if we run smaller groups they just get eaten by TC’s 40+ groups.
uggh, SoR has managed to lose enough rating that they’ll be a regular fixture in T2-T3 matches like TC has been. Luckily have low volatility.
JQ and SoR really need to press the 2v1 once ZDs goes home.
In better news, SBI has high volatility so still a good chance that fight can/will come to our door.
(edited by Chris.3290)
I haven’t done much roaming, so the only time I ever see AoN is when they are hoofing it in the opposite direction (not criticizing, you’d be stupid to go 3-5 vs 20-30).
They were picking off stragglers the other day, which was actually helpful because it’s nice to get the ADHD folks away from the group before a large brawl starts.
Any idea who we are fighting this reset?
You’re fighting each other (66% chance or better, right?) if the RNG has mercy on the rest of us.
Everyone in T2 wants a piece of SBI before they crumble.
And a special shoutout to SoS Asuna (miss rolling with ya)!
Asuna usually only tags up at night so I don’t get to play with him tagged up much. One time I got up early, only for him to go “good! Another commander, I’m going to sleep” sniggin rackin fracking (LOL, he’s great though; very easy to work with and puts in insane hours for us)
What VR had no arrowcarts and was rolling 18-25 deep.
I guarantee you we saw ACs at least 3 times in open field fights last night. I know, because we focused them and the people on them first. It was still fun fights the whole night, but it totally happened.
Edit: I should add that it was never VR people on the ACs, but it was in their fights.
No, you are supposed to blame a PuG for the AC. How are you going to keep the “we too L337 for siege” image going if you just claim there wasn’t one when they saw it.
The correct answer is “we can’t control our PuGs”. No charge for this free “Forum Chestthumping 101” course, but I do charge for the 200 level on up classes.
Edit: Nick edited while I was writing and even gave you the out.
Isn’t every class getting a new healing skill?
It would be OP if it was immune to conditions.
It doesn’t matter if it was BG with their Ocx and early EU, JQ with it’s SEA, or SoR with it’s late EU (going into season at least). This argument would be valid no matter what.
The facts are that if we are going to have a competitive Season 2; that there should be some sort of balancing mechanics put into place that do not punish folks who play at different times (NA centric posters who push for adjusting scoring can sod off).
This is also not just about the coverage wars, but about giving lower ranked servers reasons to stay where they are instead of transferring for cheaper rewards.
BG + ET would not see much of a change; but TC with FC would be interesting, along with SoS+ GoM and Mag + KN (suddenly night coverage for them).
SBI + HoD would be a beastly force to be reckoned with.
This idea has possibilities but incredibly difficult to implement. They’d need at least one more Borderland added just to get the ball rolling; and queues would still be horrendous.
