why would you go zerker as p/d?

build gets outperformed in 1v1 against other tief builds due to the enemie porting around at an insane rate with s/d or you not being able to land cnd against d/p with it’s extreme stealth and blinds. shouldn’t be as bad in spvp as in wvw because you can actually use caltrops in its narrow environment. in wvw at least the skill is beyond useless because people just dodge out of it.

another thing (in wvw again, you wont have this problem in spvp) is that people can just run away from you. especially guardians; while this build is extremely potent in duelling situations against many classes and builds you are kinda scr.ewed if your opponent just decides to make a run for it

so what gear for a cond thief?
purely carrion (cond/pow/vit) or mixed with
rabid (cond/prec/tough)

sounds like retaliation damage to me

at least my warrior gets targeted a lot more by mobs
when i wear my knight’s set. i don’t know if there is an official
statement but i’m prety sure that it is true

i don’t know what you are all talking about whip-weapons,
it looks like a focus to me, and that would be the most appropriate
choice of weapon type imo.

when i posted it yesterday in the game it just displayed
as “[]”. definitely an indicator that it isn’t in the game yet,

Getting the crabtacular achievement is not all about luck. Although it is harder if you’re in a larger group. I got it with a group of four of us and I focused on trying to get it, luring the others close to the three giant karka at the right times until I got it.

so you are saying it’s not all about luck,
but admitting it’s easier if you get lucky and end up
in a smaller group?

if it’s too hard for you don’t get it, you don’t need it to unlock anything

you don’t seem to get it. the problem with this achievement is, that
it doesn’t require you the achieve anything but others to fail at something.
it’s not a matter of “too hard” because you have to rely on the other
players to cooperate or just being bad.

1st place gets 5 karka shells and 2 greens or better
2-4 i think gets 1-5 shells and 1 green or better
5-8 gets only the grey junk item if i’m not mistaken

you only need to complete 25 achievements for the backpack,
there are far more than that in total.
and no, i’m almost 100% certain that you can’t get it after the event has ended

is that with juggernauts chrome effect?
looks quite quicksilvery and not healthy for a plant at all-
better consult a doctor… erm a botanist!

it’s only one per account, so only one char can have it and as
one poster stated, as with, say hom or halloween or wintersday, people
will stop using it after a while and the overall useage of different skins will even out

You’re right, luck is a big part of this. It’s just meant to be a fun achievement though, in a game that’s only been around for a few hours.

Perhaps if it’s truly an issue we’ll change it to something else.

that would be great. as people said, that tactic would only work on braindead zombies. maybe change it to “hold the succulent crab when the match ends”.
that’s what some thought it was, and it would be much more “fun”.

edit: it’s fine if you don’t want to change the achievement, but in this case i’m going to assemble a group through the forums to go in the game and get it
for everyone in a coordinated way. (which obviously wasn’t the intended design)

as i said; i want something that fits for wvw, not just raw dmg output
and it seems beryl orbs give damage as well as enough vitality plus as much
crit dmg as divinities. the missing precision could easily
be mitigated by sigills of perception i assume

Lyssa runes arent that helpful since i go with daggerstorm for wvw
and yes, ruby orbs give the highest dps, however i was looking for a runeset that
combines offense and defense like the divinity does.
Runes of the ogre aren’t that good either, since they give less critdmg.
The 5% summon is nice, but really unreliable and rng is generally bad in a duel.

I guess i’ll take runes of the wurm with bloodlust on shortbow to compensate for the lack of power.

for wvw it seems the most common builds are d/d sb 0/30/30/10/0
and d/p sb 0/20/30/20/0
p/p isn’t exactly ideal unless you plan on just spamming unload

Well… 1-2 week ago I gathered 15 keys and bought additional 10 (25) more – no weapon skin token.

Today I spent 8100 gems for 90 keys plus ~24 from BLC (~114) and got NOT A SINGLE skin token… so so sooooo sad and dissapointed I will never buy any more gems for any “chance items” it’s just a waste of my money.

Now I’m sad… almost 140 BLC and not a single skin token

anet won’t stop the RNG chests because of people like you, who give them money
for bad business practice. some might call that “stupid”… just saying

scholar has the 10% bonus for >90% health, will i be able to maintain my health at such a high value? on the other hand runes of the wurm are mainly defensive; won’t i lack the pressure needed in a duel?

Title says it all, i’m running 0/30/30/10/0 d/d or
0/20/30/20/0 d/p with valkyrie gear and zerker accessoires and it seems divinities are by far the best i could get in terms of dmg output with added surviveability. unfortunately i don’t have 48g to spare for 6x runes so now i’m looking for an alternative.

yes it looks hideous but had you used the preview, you would have known before
the purchase. its too bad there are only few shields, that don’t have clipping problems with those gloves

this only counts for the amulets, the rings are the same but come with 0ar and have to be upgraded.
if you do your daily in fractals on lvl 20 or above you have a chance to get an already infused one.

backpieces come with 0 ar and have to be upgraded at the forge.
the ones, you buy with fractal relics even have to be upgraded to have ascended stats
and upgraded another time to get an infusion slot.
you can upgrade them a third time to get +5ar and one last time but only for the skin

nope, theres also a prompt if i want to salvage exotics without an upgrade.
the armageddon armorsets that drop random in fractals are an example for that

yeah i just wanted to try, if i can salvage it and it works,
just that it doesnt want to know, if you are sure, like with all the other exotics…

I just accidentally salvaged my fractal speargun.
Not that it really meant that much to me but at least it should give a prompt to confirm the salvage! Does anybody know if it is possible to restore it through the support?
Fyi it gave me 2 ectoplasm and 2 orichalcum ore.

I’ll soon get my ascended rings + backpiece, and i was using knight’s
for all my gear up until now. Because there is no knight’s for ascended and the only other
choice is zerker’s i was wondering, what i could pair it with, since
full glasscannon tends to die really quickly in melee, at least in dungeons.
Should i go pvt, or maybe pvt for my trinkets and zerker’s for armor?
Are there other reasonable choices for gs/rifle warrior?
I also thought about gs/a-a for wvw.
Any help is appreciated.

Ps: build is 30/20/0/20/0 bulky with good constant dmg output for wvw and dungeons.

Exotic Full Knights gear – Knights accessories – 8k WvW high as 11k PvE

Full critical chance without critical damage is a waste.
Hence, low damage – you could get ascended power/toughness/critical damage new stat combo if you still want absurd toughness.

I don’t know what his traits are but i have the same gear with 30/20/0/20/0 and do about 13k an the average mob.
Exchanging accessoires to p/t/dmg would lower the crit chance from 56% (76% with fury, which is up 36sec/60 + gs f1 if needed) to about 36%, which even the higher crit dmg can’t compensate.
Since toughness/power/precision is already extremely durable, even in wvw zergs and pve dungeons, you could move the 20 points from the health tree to tactics for 20% more critdmg and passive 9% critchance.

Knight’s gear, although not the highest in dmg output is imho the ideal gear for warriors to get started in wvw as well as dungeons with almost every hit as crit and adding more than above avarage dmg to the already mentioned survivability.

but only around 15-20 in mass pvp. you obviously also need a strong cpu.

my thought exactly corgi; i would have done the run without the bomb, had i known the chest was bugged. I finished it after roughly one hour and was thinking about opening a tread here as well because i just felt spat on. I didn’t mind the repair bill but the aweful design… urgh. The falling damage was well calculated but the fact that you just lie flat down for 2 secs, giving gryphons time to attack you is just stupid.

Final thoughts: JUST RUN WITHOUT THE BOMB AND GRAB THE ACHIEVEMENT!

Well, from what i’ve heard Mesmer seems to be fairly weak in pve.
But man, i see a c.rapload of them in spvp. And by that, i mean about 20-25%.
Thieves are the same amount and here and there a warrior.
