No, I don’t mind a new back item. Considering the amount of work that goes into making actual armour, we’re only likely to get it with very large releases. So it’s backpiece or nothing.
Also, the game was released with no visible backpieces, so they have been releasing so many in order to give us variety. I still haven’t found one that suits my armour. Keep them coming, ANet!
And don’t forget we get some pretty sick looking nightmare weapons too.

I thought Scarlet would be getting exposure once every 6 months, not every second month. Does anyone actually like her?
I think Scarlet is the best thing to happen to this game. Seriously.
What doesn’t make sense is that Scarlet dislikes the Nightmare Court as much as the Dream, so I don’t know why she would involve herself with Twilight Arbor. Maybe it has something to do with power…

I think that the new Super Skins are undervalued, seeing as they are not nearly as farmable due to the account-based chest rewards. In April, the rewards were character based instead. I’ve been running all of World 1 every day since SAB: BTS came out, and have not gotten a single skin drop. At this rate, I expected the prices to be much higher.
Also since it is now confirmed that we won’t have access to the old Super Skins, I don’t know why the price of those items has not gone up.

I honestly can’t believe she did that! Amazing.

They better not encourage playing in any way other than the way that results in success. I don’t want to see another situation where people farm champions instead of doing the event. Farming is unlimited, you can do it anywhere, and at any time. Special events and LS content is found in one specific place at a specific time, and there should be no reason to encourage farmers to take even one spot on the map away from someone who actually wants to play the content.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
1) They have done a lot to fix performance issues with changes on graphical effects and culling.
2) Any new content is going to get jumped on by players. Anything short of an instance will cause this.
3) I get 16 fps standing alone in an empty field, on minimum graphics settings, and 3 fps in zerged events. I don’t complain. I still have fun. Try playing on my computer, then go back to yours and see that you are really making this more of an issue than it is. I’d love to have a minimum of 10-15 fps like you do. Quit complaining!

In terms of additional story, there isn’t much here. But they are doing a LOT to fix a lot of the most common encounters in the game. This is a quality update if I’ve ever seen one.
And LFG tool? That’s HUGE!

I’ll admit I didn’t read the post, however if a good title does its job, I do have something to say:
Ascended is not a new direction in the game. In the PAX interview, Colin said that they always intended for people to put in effort to work towards max gear, however exotics turned out to be much easier to acquire than they anticipated. This is why ascended was released. And there will not be another tier for many years to come. So this is not a new direction for the game at all, just one that they have always been aiming for, but did not execute properly. It will stay at ascended.
Also the increased functionality from ascended is very minimal. You aren’t missing out on much if you stick with exotic. Ascended is meant to be a long term goal to give you the feeling of accomplishment. They are not putting us on a gear grind. Don’t feel like you need ascended right away to succeed. The game has not changed, they have not made it any harder.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
Ascended weapons are there for you to have a goal. The increased functionality you get from them is not even noticeable.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
But then what happens when you link a location on the map (wp, poi, etc)? :P
Honestly, it’s been like this since GW1.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
I’d like to see them become account-bound (and refund extra copies that people have). There’s no reason people should be put in a position where they want to shell out multiple gem purchases for the same item, just because they play many characters. I have one character that I play, but I know that many people play lots of characters and would like to have access to these expensive items on all of them. Perhaps an unlock of sorts that you can buy for your account, much like the finisher unlocks they have now.

I don’t think that you can call TM hard, it’s more the “try-die-remember-next-time”-mode.
For the baddies who NEEDED the Infinite Coin to do it while some people did it without using it, sure. Anyone can do it just by dying and remembering.
Wait, so you’re saying that people who cannot see or know where invisible traps are are baddies?

“You still get your event reward loots and achievements, yet people seem to be hell-bent on ordering people around in chat to split up and blame commanders for stacking in Aetherblade Events. I don’t understand…”
It’s because some people want to play the game rather than rationalize it down to a time for gold ratio. There’s no reason for them to sympathize with farmers who put their personal gold accumulation ahead of the community effort and community reward. Since however you started from view that only your wallet is important then you probably can’t appreciate that.
I could not have put it better myself.
The problem is that the reward structure encourages you to “fail” the event. Poor design.
For me, it’s more fun to coordinate with a map full of people to complete the event, than it is to stand in one spot and spam 1 for champ loot bags. I’m rewarded with a sense of accomplishment, an achievement for anyone that needs it, and 2 daily rares. And if you just want to farm champs, I believe the Frostgorge champ farm gives better drops. I’ve done 15+ of these events and gotten nothing better than a couple 80 silver exotics.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
They just need to make “completion” and “profit” not mutually exclusive. It doesn’t seem too far fetched an idea that you should be rewarded the best for reaching your goal.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
Hi, I believe that the recipes for the new sigils and runes should not be account bound. People will not be able to acquire them after the Crown Pavilion is closed, and anyone who bought extras has wasted their money. All limited release recipes in the past have been tradable, so why not these?
Thank you.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
The problem is that after the Aetherblade stage is finished, people keep farming them, and it does NOT progress the event.
Also, zerging events does give progress, however it is slower progress since the events will take longer, and less will be finished since people are only doing one at a time. As I said, the main problem is people farming the events that give ZERO progress. IMO the best solution is to have aetherblades/molten stop spawning after the required amount is killed.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
That’s what they are still trying to figure out, I believe.

The lowest sell order went up because people bought up all the lower sell orders before they could naturally be replaced. This is due to increased demand (from radiant vambrace users). Simple.
Which is why the highest buy offer only went up a few silver while the lowest sell offer went up nearly five fold.
Seems legit.
Because when people know an item is going up in price rapidly, they are unlikely to have a buy order filled, and buy instantly instead. Also, a lot of sell orders are removed by their owners because they know they can make more money if they sell later. These two factors I believe cause lots of sell orders to disappear fast, while there are just a few people placing buy orders, outbidding each other by one copper.

It’s about convenience, not copper value savings over time. at 1-1.5g/hr, translating gold earning rate an hourly wage value makes us all look like a bunch of slave labourers.
Really though, if you were concerned with convenience, it would be much more convenient to ignore all gathering nodes and spend money for your materials on the TP. You would still be spending less than you would if you bought the unlimited mining items as well. If you wanted to “conveniently” waste your money, then that’s another story. I do however realize the emotion behind this reasoning, as it went through my head as well. You just need to beat it with logic!
My reasoning for buying them was that they are max gear, and I want max gear. Although the cost was not an issue for me, since it was a now-or-never type of thing, it was offset slightly by the fact that I’ll make my money back in 3 years :P
On topic: I see it likely that there will be a bundle of some sort, or perhaps a reward for some living story where you get a ticket that gives you access to one unlimited gathering tool. Then of course there is also the chance that they restart the cycle with a different type of mining pick with the next living story, and continue on that way. Although I don’t think ANet will do anything predictable when it comes to things that affect gem sales. They like to keep us guessing, as a marketing strategy.

I think that each minigame needs to have 2 different “leagues”: casual and competitive. Anyone can join in a casual match to farm achievement points. Anyone can play competitive mode, but you would have to pay an entry fee, and winners would get a reward.
That’s the only way I could see to fix this problem, yet still keep people playing the minigames.

I don’t think they can stop AoE from hitting things on top of a wall,
This ties in to my comment about phantasms. It was changed so that phantasms could not hit things they did not have LoS to, so I think it would be possible to stop AoE as well from hitting things they do not have LoS to (they = the casting player).

All I read was “troll troll troll”.
It seems that people want to purposely throw off the devs so that they don’t know what we like, and end up giving us trash.
For what my opinion is worth: this jp was awesome. Perfect level of difficulty, great atmosphere, clever obstacle course, nice art. However the unforgiving falls to your death were too many. Also I really think replacing a simple jump with a glitchy bouncer is not needed (here’s looking at you, goggles).

They do it to make it HARD, because face-rolling optional content for achievement points instead of FUN is NOT the way a game should be designed.
If you can’t do it, FINE. You don’t have to! There is no exclusive reward for doing it.
Honestly, I don’t feel special wearing the Living Story flavour of the month backpiece because everyone and their mother has it. This stuff is too easy! I’m tired of people complaining about one certain aspect of the game being too hard for you.
I WvW all day and love jumping puzzles, and FINALLY something is added to the game that appeals to my niche, and all I see is people complaining and asking for it to be removed. Go kill 100’s of Aetherblades in Ascalon if you want easy content. You don’t have to do this.
There are 7 million things for you to do in GW2! What makes you think you have the RIGHT to be able to do every single darned piece of content blindfolded? If there are no challenges in the game, people leave. I know I sure would.
Granted, I know I am in wvw and that is the nature of the beast. But I kinda HAVE to reach the cache if I want the achievement.
This is my point exactly. It is an achievement, for you know…achieving something! The nature of the word there should tell you that it should not be a freebie. If you are not able to complete it, you don’t deserve the achievement. Simple as that. There are LOADS of achivements I know I will never get. But the difference is I do not feel entitled to them, and you do. It’s not a checklist of activities to be completed, it’s a collection of optional goals that show that you were able to complete a certain piece of content. You do not NEED to do them, and they should NOT be handed to you. You must ACHIEVE something to earn an ACHIEVEMENT. Duh!
Sorry for coming off rude. I just feel people don’t understand the purpose of this content, and I am appalled at the sense of entitlement you guys have.

2,089 armour (I’m a light class). Full PVT clothing with mostly zerker trinkets.
I am fully aware that there are 100’s of posts/threads raging about thieves being op. Well guess what, there is a basis for those threads! Something being said multiple times does not warrant it being ignored, it warrants extra attention. HELLO ANET!
Personally, if I know a thief is coming, it’s no problem for me. But when they pop out of stealth and immobilize me while I am running through a field alone, I have no chance. The point is: it doesn’t matter how much damage the thief takes, if the thief is able to kill me before I even notice him there.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
I stopped reading at “10g an hour”. If you think the average person makes 10g an hour from CoF, then you have never heard from or played with an average person farming CoF. At best, it’s 5g an hour. Perhaps with a coordinated group of expert players on voice chat who run a specific niche build, you could crack this hypothetical 10g barrier, but I doubt even that is possible.
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
What is the logic behind this balance? I’ve been repeatedly killed by thieves in 2, yes count them TWO hits in WvW tonight. What is the logic behind giving a class the ability to immobilize me, then 2-shot me, all in the span of less than one second, from stealth. I’m running full level 80 exotic soldier (PVT) gear, 21k hp.

So there are a few things I’d like to address here, and get people’s opinions on in terms of what methods should and should not be able to destroy siege weapons placed in specific areas.
- Skills hitting tops of walls: ANet seemed to think that certain skills should not be able to go through walls, or hit things on the tops of walls, as they added a LoS restriction to Mesmer phantasms. However we still see a lot of AoE abilities on Eles, Rangers, and Necros being able to decimate siege that is placed on the tops of walls. Do you think it was right to nerf one of these things, but not the others? Should siege on walls be safe from everything? Should more skills be allowed to hit things on the tops of walls?
- AC hitting treb on third floor SM: I’ve noticed this tactic being used a lot more. With the extended range Arrow Cart mastery, an AC placed on the ground outside Stonemist Castle can knock down Trebuchets placed on the balconies on the 3rd floor. Should we be able to do this, or should trebs up there be safe? This seemed to be an intended safe spot for trebs before the increased AC range.
- The Zoom Hack: I think most of us can agree that this tactic does not belong in the game, and provides imbalance to the use of Arrow Carts. For those that don’t know, this hack allows you to zoom your camera out farther than normal, so that you can see over walls and other obstructions to hit things with AC’s that you normally could not hit. It breaks the game’s mechanics to bring an unfair advantage to people using third party software, and yet we have seen no action from ANet on it.
- AC is still the ‘go-to’ anti-siege: People don’t even put catapults behind doors to kill enemy rams anymore. Ballista, the anti-siege weapon, is overshadowed by AC completely, due to its single target attack that is so incredibly easy to get obstructed. I don’t want to turn this into another AC discussion, as we have many of those, but in terms of what tactics are used to destroy enemy siege, it sure has its place in this thread.
