Gold Transfer Changes

Then just don’t spend that gold. If you’re going to spend it, you’re going to spend it. There’s nothing they can do to stop you.

This is a more understandable reason to me, but ultimately you still have the gold whether you can see it or not.

If i had a place to put 20 gold aside, i wouldnt spend it. thats my point. It wouldnt ever be spent, its a reserve that i dont touch. But with the new system, when buying armor and weapons its very easy to get below that 20g reserve now, by accident.

And no, each character had that gold. The account didnt have that gold, each character did, the “Golden” title? you had to have 200g on one character.

Plus, the code is still probably in the game files, if it is i dont see what the problem is in turning it back on. It doesnt affect you? but it would be there for those who wanted it

Some people liked it for role play reasons. Each char had its own gold and bought its own purchases through gold earned by its own actions. They could also have poor chars and rich chars with story lines about their rich noble char or their poor working class char.

This is another reason, i just started even trying to do role play stuff and yea its awful hard now pretending to be poor when you have all the money your account has…at all times..

But the question is why do we need that? We already can store gold, it’s just that it happens automatically and it can be accessed from anywhere and on any character.

I honestly hate the new gold storage system. I dont want to have all my gold be able to be accessed anywhere at any one time. i like to have a 20 gold reserve that i cant spend, and since the addition..eerrr should i say the removal of the ability to store gold in my personal bank, its way harder to keep that 20 gold reserve when equipping characters..

When I was growing up (many years ago), something I got told several times by various adults and other figures of responsibility was, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”. I learned that to be true, and I still believe it now.

I personally think that expression is only true to an extent. Words can do a lot of harm, and you don’t have to be a delicate flower to have harsh words affect you in a negative way. True verbal abuse can do a lot of damage.

This. I was taught the same thing, and you know what? That saying is true to an extent. until you get bullied verbally(And physically, mostly verbal) to the point of trying to kill yourself, you really have no idea(Which i was.), and i have really thick skin. And obviously words can hurt, why is that we cant say the “n****r”? I mean, words cant hurt right? (Sarcasm, words hurt, thats why verbal abuse is a thing).

But in A GAME, report, block move on. If its really bad they will be dealt with.

Ohh i see what you mean, but still, those must be some isolated missfortunes. I mean i did quite a lot of chestfarm, but usually when it gets to 30-40% we just stop and do the breach, after VW we restart chestfarm. Also i’m mostly doing chestfarm with 1 or 2 guilds, really nice players.

I’m sorry to hear that there are some people that actually ruin this for the rest of us.

Like i said before, every forest has its bad trees(forgot the how the actual saying goes, my bad). It seems that there are some players that ruin chestfarming for everyone. But i personally never experienced this, rudeness you describe.

Please understand this, before you request to take the chestfarming away from all of us.

They arent as limited as i would have liked. it happens once or twice a day sometimes, and as little as that seems, having it happen at all says something. it usually happens late at night, or early in the morning and less during the midday(When the vast majority of kids AND adults are at work or school)

I dont want to take chest farm away, what i personally want, and i highly doubt it would ever happen, but its something i want is for the chests to only spawn during the downtime after VW has happened. it would solve most of the problems, will keeping the map pretty populated.(Obviously highly unlikely, but i would like it). I chest farm too, sometimes, and the zerg im with always seems to have toxic players in it that respond almost instantly and rabidly to anybody who asks the zerg to stop chest farming and help with the events, or to help with the events as they pass the forts.(This happens way to much, and i wish i had taken screen shots of it)

Another thing that i noticed, if you split a stack, and try to put it back, you cant. the new stack wont stack with the old stack.

Yeah, I just submitted a formal bug report on exactly that. I thought it only happened (sometimes) when you acquired the additional items from multiple sources. Instead, it seems to affect any set of items that is split while more of the same item is available elsewhere (another toon, the bank, etc).

Not that it helps us, but I wonder what they changed in the item inventory data and stacking mechanics that could create such a weird bug.

Same here really! Then again, alot of the data seems to be messed up at the moment, so who really knows what happen!

There is a reason to but the reason not to is to save casuals. When both are mixed property you have constant challenge like BDO before CB3 when you separate them both become stale and the game need expansions, dungeons become easy, you don’t make real friends and your game is down hill run. Do you know a game named Lineage 1?

So..According to you, the people i do dungeons with everyday, do map exploration with, and constantly talk to. Those arent my friends? HUH?! Just what? Thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard.

What i’m curious, aimed towards the people who don’t want it, is “why” you don’t want it? in what way would it negatively affect the game if it were added?

Like, personally, i probably wouldn’t use the feature and i think it’s a bit silly. but i don’t know why i “wouldn’t” want it added.

(And to be honest, i don’t think it’d take “that” much work to implement. I believe they actually enabled open-world pvp for woodenpotatoes? i’m not sure, i’ve just heard that from others)

Why dont we want it? Its a distraction, we dont want to be spammed with duel invites( Even an autodecline feature wont stop this), We dont want to have to deal with the trolls and other idiots who come with dueling.(Turning whispers off is not an option, and is a stupid response)

I am all for Dueling in certain areas in certain zones around the world. See the bane in the black citadel, the queens pavilion in DA, are two examples. But a full no on dueling everywhere. As are most of the people who are in the middle(like me) in almost every thread that pops up like this, ive counted almost everytime.
This is from the last thread i counted though, and was asking for open world Dueling.
Against. 73
Against, but for dueling if implemented in some way that players didnt have to see it, and or if it was in specific zones. 43

What’s so wrong with chestfarming? it’s not like you can farm for 2-3 hours and get instant rich…sure you do get few rares…maybe 1-2 exotics, and a few T6 mats…but it takes time….and i do like to chest farm from time to time, it’s an easy action that doesn’t require much thinking/attention and i can do something else at the same time…

I think you are hating just cause some people are doing some money that way and you can’t.

Also VW events are really nice if you talk to people around you…i find that when most players can’t be bothered to say a few words events WILL fail and it’s just plain boring. But when you meet some that you can talk to, and joke with…and communicate, champions neveer fail and you have some fun at the same time.

It’s all about perspective…if you go in alone determined to be all alone and ingore everyone else, yeah you’re gonna have a bad time.

Why nerf down the chestfarm? they already did that once…let people play the way they want to play…why just force them to play your way? Don’t like it? don’t do chest farm or VW. But i enjoy both and i want to keep doing them both.

The problem with chestfarming is the following: The players who do it are toxic, and sometimes worse than the PVP community. let me explain a bit of course, the players who do it get so toxic towards the players actually doing the breach. They come into a map that was an event map, and then chase out all the players who where there doing breach. Ive had it happen more than once. Been in maps that have been doing breach successfully all morning, all 5 bosses killed, all champions for VW killed, with a chest farm during the downtime.

Thats when a chest farming commander comes in, his zerg would run past the forts, scale them up, and then leave(This happens ALOT). The fort would fail, and people would leave. That is why there is hate towards chest farmers. You want money? go make your own map, stop coming into maps that are very clearly doing the events as they are meant to be done(4 commanders, 1 per fort, with people running the dolyaks back and forth, occasionally grabbing a chest when the forts arent in an event) And taking them over(By that i mean making people leave for other maps because you arent helping with the forts). That would end the toxicty towards the chest farmers.

Dante.1763

I just wanted to point out, that bosses do not count the dead towards scaling any longer, ANET staff have confirmed this on the forums(trying to find a link but its so old now). that is a myth that people keep using in game and on the forums. How long it takes for them to de scale is anybodys guess, but the dead do not count towards active scaling any longer.

The loss of DPS and the risk of more players dying is the larger issue though, as most of the bosses that people complain about this at are often timed. Taking a minute of having 5 people revive a fully dead person is more dangerous(towards those 5) and more harmful(towards the event finishing) than leaving that person dead. Not only that fully dead can get in the way of reviving downed players.

Edit: With link. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dynamic_event#Notes

It’s not really about if you care or you don’t care what other people think of your chars. It’s about the overall impact something like this would have on the community and the game.

It’s basicly a gear checker; so the normal use is to allow players to be more exclusive vs inclusive. Someone joins, you don’t like his gear so… kick. (The only advantage would be the ability to stop someone from joining a group requesting zerker and lieing. allthough the fact that people would even feel the need to lie is more proof of the reason this tool would be abused)

I don’t really think the comparing GW2 to D3 is an even field, the games are reasonably different.

I have to agree with Miku here. Sure, it would be nice to show off what you have, but you can do that already. This would be used as a gear check more often than not.

Yes it was. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Feedback-on-HoT-Stress-Test-merged/page/3#post4915383

They wont fix the charr really. Which is a shame because i have 9 of them. Charr are only played by around 15% of the game population, and players have been complaining about how horrible their armor looks since the game came out, and nothing has been really done. Of course, more people would play charr if their armor looked better, and the new armor they are coming out with has looked way better. Anet just needs to fix the old stuff now.

Specializations vs Vanilla

Exactly. It would be bad if in the real thing, the only way to match with Revenant (not even considering their specialization) would be through specializations.

PVE combat was dumbed down for the stress test, so the mobs you fought where weaker. Do not forget that!

Man the lengths people are willing to defend anet on these forums…

Its both funny and sad at the same time.

i will say though, that this was something that has little effect on if i buy the expansion or not. ive wanted this for a long time now, and its just another plus for something that i was already going to buy! shrugs i can see the problem people have with it, but at the same time, im even more excited for the expansion to get here! (thats just all my opinion)
