Oh yeah. It makes it okay? Well, next time I have a project at work that isn’t done. I’ll just go in a week before hand and say “Hey, sometimes stuff gets pushed back”. I’m sure my manager would be perfectly happy about that.
Just as an FYI, it’s okay to like the game and still see fault in actions of the company.
I get projects that get pushed back all the time. Right now all my projects are being pushed back. My engineers are all busy on earlier projects, so my projects are getting pushed back. It’s quite common in this field.
I’m surprised that the manifesto has never been mentioned until now. I would have expected many long discussions about it. Surprisingly, this seems to be the first.
after scarlet story is finished they should extend the levels to 85 or 90 ….
NO! no no no no no no no.
OP, why do you think we deserve an answer to your question? What have we done to deserve it. If we wanted the question answered, we would have voted for it. The players said they didn’t want the info. We don’t deserve an answer.
.
I prefer the Frostgorge zerg over Queensdale any day anyway, as you are standing around doing nothing or running long ends from a wp to the champ.
People in frostgorge train are friendlier from personal experiences.
I like frostgorge, but it runs too fast for my taste.
The charr love the slyvari. In fact, the sylvari are probably the charr’s favorite race, other than the charr of course. Every charr knows that the best meat at Meatoberfest is smoked over sylvari.
To me it is more of “she doesn’t care” rather than “she wanted us to do that” – her personality is that of not caring, of indifference. Just read through the “What Scarlet Saw” short story and that’s shown plain as day – anytime she was attacked she just left without a care in the world.
The problem with the “she didn’t care” theory is that she took time to make the puzzles. They were left deliberately. That’s an indication of some amount of care.
Wouldn’t that be TGH?
I don’t see members of the nightmare court turning on Scarlet as they seemed to have received some benefit from the alliance. However, the krait have been treated poorly by Scarlet. I’m surprised they haven’t turned on the nightmare court.
Still, what the player makes is not an anti-toxin. Marjory made an anti-toxin and Scarlet did not (to all our knowledge) obtain such.
To me, the puzzle indicates that Scarlet wanted us to destroy the tower. Why would she want us to destroy the tower. Obviously she had no use for it anymore and wanted the tower removed so the krait would not benefit anymore. I would think that the krait would be rather angry at scarlet right now.
underwater combat is a flop, but here is how to fix it:
-remove underwater weapons
-give every (weapon and utility and elite) skill in game a underwater variety, that acts the same as the regular skill but maybe in 3d, or slightly altered so its usefull underwater
-aquabreathers craftable by the various armor crafts, and give them the same stats as helms (or get rid of the aqua breathers stats all together and make it a skin slot)if the above terms are met i believe underwater combat will be like all other combat in this game, unlike right now, cause now its a chore :P
also if these terms are met id love to see a complete underwater spvp map with a quagan theme and with capture bubbles in stead of circles! maybe even make a wvw underwater week and make the keeps look like those quagan houses you see in pve, and every entrance has a gate in it :P
There is no way certain weapons that work on land would work in water. Consider the hammer. It would be horrible under water. Underwater weapons exist for a reason.
I’d like to see Anet utilize underwater areas more. It’s like a big vast desert. I would love to have more reasons to spend time underwater.
It’s too bad there isn’t a thread for discussing vertical and horizontal progression. Anet should consider starting one.
Ventari and Ronan used Miracle-Gro.
I doubt Ellen and Kasmeer are the same person. Ellen is currently wandering around Lions Arch, while Kasmeer is in Kessex Hills.
Tyria is starting to sound like Babylon 5.
Scarlet was with the Hyleks learning toxins when Omadd found her.
Liquid Karma’s gonna get you!
horizontal character progression…
I’ve never played gw1, but many have consistently mentioned that it had a great amount of profession options and flexibility. this game is in desperate need of profession development, so mirroring what was offered in your original game would be a good start.
in addition to the above, gw2 could use more buttons to press on the bar. I suggest something like this…
*#1-10 would be used for individual or multiple weapon skills.
*f1-f4 mechanics bar
*f5 heal skill
*f6 aoe/team heal skill
*f7-f10 utility skills
*f11 &f12 elite skillsa 3rd weapon swap option would be great as well.
last but not least, get rid of combat movement suppression and provide an option to pan out the camera more like you do for certain encounters.
thanks and make it so!
So many skills on the skill bar make my head swim. GW1 only had 8 skills on it’s skill bar. It’s not the number of skills on the skill bar that make variety but how many different ways the skill bar can be loaded.
I think it would be nice to be able to craft skins. Skins that take time to collect. Skins with mats that are only located in certain areas. For example a dredge related skin from items found only in dredge areas. This would give people reasons to go to places that currently have no reason to go to.
What do you mean no plot? It’s simple, two women get together to destroy a large phallic symbol that’s spewing toxin everywhere! Yeah, it’s kind of anti-male.
Let’s overhype now so we can be disapointed later!
Does no one in this thread know who Minister Caudecus is? Do you people not realize that the bandits are already working with the Centaurs? Maybe the reason people hate Scarlet is because they don’t understand the existing lore.
Outside of the occasional rude bore that thinks he’s been nominated to be the Dictator of Queensdale, I have no problem with it. However, the zerg needs to recognize that not everyone wants to be a part of it, and if tsomeone wants to kill champs on thier own shedule, they have the right to.
I’ve never understood the crying sound the zerg makes when someone kills out of order as the pace of the zerg is so fast, that any lose is neglible.
Scarlet can only make Wintersday better!
oh cool, i wish they wrote an end date from fractured too
Fractured! will most likely run for two weeks in total, so until December 10. I’m assuming this because the Fractured! meta is called Fractal Fortnight.
yea but are u sure ? cuz the toxic tower thing is still not over even tho fractured already came out ? u know ?
WHy did you kitten the public, if you’re not going to accept the public’s response? Maybe you should have just asked a dev.
God, give it a day. You can’t make such an assumption the very day the patch releases, it’s just the start of things. Good grief, can you wait at least a day before trying to make this patch look like the spawn of the Devil himself?
Don’t be silly, the patch is coming out in 6 days!
My. my, my, where does the time go?

Apparently, you didn’t get the memo. Complaining about GW2 has officially been registered as an e-sport. The earlier and more frequently a participant complains about GW2, the more points he gets. Also, if you complain about fixes you asked for, then you get bonus points. The more points you earn, the higher your position on the leader board. Everyone knows that the all the kool kids occupy the highest places on the leader board.
OMGRRRRRD..the world ended.
Don’t be silly. The world couldn’t have ended because in parts of it, it’s already the fouth.
I’ve read/skimmed the majority of this thread, so excuse me if this has been brought up;
Has anyone else had the thought that during her out-of-body-experience, Scarlet came to realize she’s living in a game?
I mean, we’re talking about someone who we believe has explored the very fabric of the (her) universe, is it so hard to believe she might have come to figure out what the world of Tyria really is?
January content – “Scarlet Breaks the 4th Wall”
…….I’m semi-serious.
Maybe she’s just a copper top, she does have red hair. Where’s Morpheus when you need him.
There is no such thing as a bad character.
Only bad writing, acting, implementation and directing.Scarlet could be an amazing character, but almost all of us wouldn’t know that because they implement her in such a shoehorn fashion that we barely learn anything about her, or the story she’s suppose to be carrying, as well as when we do see her it’s just done so…poorly.
Replace her with an Elder dragon or Mursaat, it would still be bad because it’s not the characters that ruins stories, it’s the people making the stories.
Way to try to hijack a thread. I thought this thread was supposed to be about Scarlet lore, not Scarlet hate. Was I wrong? Don’t we have enough Scarlet hate threads? Do we really need to make this thread about Scarlet hate also?
It’s a preview. I think we’ll all survive the preview being a day late. Some people need to step back a bit and stop acting like cruel masters.
Hey Konig, did you ever think that it’s not the Sylvari that Mordy wants destroyed, but just the dream. The dream and by corollary the nightmare, could be disruptive noise that is preventing Mordy from controlling the Sylvari. Destroy the dream, or rather Ventrari’s tablet’s affect on the the dream and you have a new base of power.
As far as Scarlet is concerned, she does some to be possessed by another after exiting the sensory depravation chamber. My problem with that is I simply can’t think of another example of that happening in Tyria.
Dont really looks like a tank. It may got a big cannon but like you can see its only possible to turn it in a 20-45 degree angle. Also its way too big and a easy target for AT-weapons.
It’s not fair to compare Charr tanks to anything other than first generation tanks. By WWII there was over 40 years of tank design. However, I do agree with the OP that claiming the bikes to be tanks is silly. Especially when the charr have vehicles that seem better suited to the classification.
Three of the six Elder Dragons had known harbingers, if you will, to bring forth their coming – a single dragon champion that awoke before they did. Zhaitan, Mordremoth, and the DSD may as well. The Elder Dragons will awaken eventually anyways, but these champions serve to hasten that effect.
So no, I am not assuming that Mordremoth is awake.
“Harbinger” is an interesting word choice. Malyck is known as the Harbinger to the NC.
The Oakheart that you know of may be an advance scout. There may be an army of corrupted Oakhearts in the Maguma jungle that we simply don’t know about. I believe that bubbles is awake, but I haven’t encountered any of it’s minions either.
Scarlet’s motive is to remove the shackles of her pale tree’s believe system. She doesn’t like that she is compelled to choose one direction or the other. She yearns to be free and to free everyone else.
This is what is wrong with the whole “Scarlet was working with the Inquest” at thaumanova. There is no reasonable explanation for it. It can’t be justified. No one would hire her.
Scarlet was not working with the inquistion when the reactor blew. She was their on here own with out the inquest’s permission.
Found one in Plains of Ashford, slightly NW of the wall.
And yes, I touched it. =P
It probably has nothing to do with anything but….
In the Gendarran Fields, near the center of the triangle formed by the three stations, is the original portal device from Scarlet that we had to examine back in August.
Why are you showing a screenshot of the Diessa Plateau?
(edited by DarcShriek.5829)
Someone just can’t admit he’s wrong in this thread.
“You want it fixed? Buy more gems!”
Whoosh!
Let me guess, you’re one of the literary critics that can’t stand Scarlet.
So while writing up a response to this thread I came to realize something that should have clicked immediately given my constant research into Mordremoth.
In the Thaumanova Reactor Fractal we get confirmation that the Inquest also researched dragon magic there, shortly before explosion.
Now, if one were to go to Metrica, you’d note something: the area can be divided into six ‘rooms’ – the center, the ice room, the plant room, the fire room, the water room, and finally a little niche with a Branded-looking crystal.
This follows five of the six Elder Dragons’ nature themes: fire (Primordus), water (DSD), ice (Jormag – even features an Icebrood), crystal (Kralkatorrik), and plant (Mordremoth).
Now, what’s interesting to note is the event in the plant room: Destroy the misplaced poison creature During which we have to kill a “Veteran Rotting Oakheart”
Could this Rotting Oakheart be a minion of Mordremoth, perhaps?
Now, as writing this my mind began deviating to a theory on the ley lines in relation to the dragon minions and the nature themes seen in Thaumanova, so I’ll try to avoid deviating further. ANYWAYS, time to go into a tangent about Mordremoth’s minion possibilities:
Said above Rotting Oakheart shares exact models and abilities with the Champion Ancient Rotting Oakheart of Queensdale. During said champion’s event you get this:
Tracker: “Melandru’s tears! Look at the size of that oakheart. We’re going to need a bigger bow!”
Hunter: “We’re weakening her. Keep at it, for the good of the forest.”
Tracker: “Push the attack. If she gets away, she’ll pass her corruption on to the rest of her kind.”
Hunter: “Let’s end this and put the poor creature out of her misery.”
Tracker: “A sad task, to be sure, but a vital one. Had we failed to cut her down, the corruption would have spread to the entire forest.”Spread of corruption; same model, species, and abilities. If the Veteran Rotting Oakheart is a minion of Mordremoth, you can bet that the Champion Ancient Rotting Oakheart is too.
But there’s more: Destroy the converted nightmare mosshearts has mosshearts using this same model, and along with that there’s a shared environmental effect seen also with the Champion Ancient Rotting Oakheart.
And those Nightmare Mosshearts were twisted by the long-suspected influenced-by-Mordremoth group: the Nightmare Court.
This has possibilities. But, if Sylvari are immune to corruption, how can the nightmare court be associated with Mordremoth. Also, why wouldn’t Malyck’s tree be corrupted? As far as we know, Malyck’s tree has no equivalent of the NC. If the NC was caused by Mordremoth, it would seem reasonable that Malyck’s tree would have a similar issue.
Be clear, my only problem with this is the association of the NC. I think the corrupted oakhearts could very well be minions.
As Scarlet implies that chaos energy is a form of dragon energy, I’d chalk that up as further proof of the Mordremoth’s minion theory.
I’d say it’s the opposite: “pure” dragon energy is a form of chaos magic/energy. It all makes sense when it comes to draconic corruption (and I’m very proud to have been amongst the first to make the theory that ED are “sentient chaos magic taking on the shape of dragons”): we see how chaos magic screws with reality (rivers going upstream, physical “mutations” (growth, shrinking, etc.). If you add the dragon’s own essence to the mix, the “screwing with reality” turns into “specializing on and screwing with elements and different forms of life.”
If chaos magic is the subcategory of dragon energies, we have another brutal loreslaughter and retcon rampage on our hands… all thanks to that Ms Villain Sue and her writers.
A Quote from “What Scarlet Saw”
“The deeper she delved into it, the more convinced she became that the pinnacle of asuran thought was not a metamagical engine or a transcendent equation, but a key that allowed one to access the basic fabric of reality itself.”
Could the eternal alchemy be related to chaos(dragon) magic?
If the NC are corrupted sylvari, why wouldn’t Malyck’s tree be corrupted also? He is not familiar with the NC.
Has the name of this game been changed from Guild Wars 2 to Scarlet Wars 1 yet?
I suspect the " 2 " has significant meaning to a large part of the player base.
You seem to be fine with Dragon Wars 1. I can’t believe I’m the only person that found all these undead to be redundant.
The 2 has no meaning to the player base.
So, let’s do some roleplaying. For this experiment, your the guy that just hired Scarlet Briar to work on the Thaumanova Reactor. How do you explain to your investors why you hired a woman that is so insane that she can’t hide it no matter how hard she tries? Also, the organization you work for fired her previously for being dishonest. How do you justify hiring her to work on such a high profile and possibly dangerous project?
Updated the map with all find-spots, and i assined every line to a dragon
.
This is so exciting.
EDIT:
I had the idea to lay the GW1 Map on the GW2 Map with the lines i made.
The result is this!
The Source, if the pattern of the lines is like i draw, would be exactly the “Heart of the Shiverpeaks” from GW1 o.O!
This does not have all the stations on it. Nice try, no cigar.
You need to look harder in Sparkfly Fen.
Why would the inquest allow her access to the reactor? They already knew her from when she was Ceara. She got kicked out because she couldn’t be trusted. It makes no sense for the inquest to let her work with them on the reactor knowing she couldn’t be trusted.
Would you allow her to work on the reactor knowing what the inquest knew about her?
There is no way she was working with the inquest. The project was too valuable to knowingly allow her anywhere near it.

There is a Guy, Odesan, he posted this in a comment on guildnews.de:
I notice he ignores the “DO NOT TOUCH” stations that do not fit his theory. Lousy proof. Please come back when you have a map that includes all the stations.
Why do all these maps ignore the fact that there are three of these stations in Sparkfly Fen?
