There is a new paradigm developing. Groups are organizing in overflows and leaving the main servers to AFK types.
I’ve gotten more than that 2500 shards since ascended weapons were released with no actual grind o-o
I just do what i want and it flows in quicker than i can keep track of it, and i don’t even WANT an ascended item, they all look pretty horrible to me. Quit complaining and learn that it’s not going to take a single day to get it, we already have enough of these cry-baby threads on the forums.2500 shards. Yeah….call me skeptical. Are you playing 10+ hours a day. What are you doing to obtain that many?
Maybe you should say that, or is this really just a troll post to call people cry babies?
He’s trolling.
I have 1 million “shards” and I only play 1 hour a day. Also, I never leave Lion’s Arch.
Aw heck, 1 million aint nothin’. I’ve got a billion and I only play 15 minutes a day. L2P.
The problem with this is if I can sell skins that I don’t want, then putting them as part of the achievement skins means I can never sell them.
The assumption that it’s guests that are sending you into overflow is just plain silly and wrong.
Stop looking for scapegoats.
Of course what really makes me chuckle when I see these threads are memories of all the predictions that this game would be dead in a year.

Stay back and defend the turrets. You can crit on his mobs and they take condi damage. That is way more useful than you apparently realize.
That’s my take on the issue. I’ve yet to take part in a winning fight and I can’t help but wonder if part of the reason is due to not enough people defending the turrets. It seems everyone wants to attack the dragon.
I’m on SoR, and guess what every time I do Teq I’m on the overflow. Even if you didn’t have guests, there’s a good chance you’d still be in overflow. Stop crying about guests and be a good host.
Because I am disappointed that I can’t play with my own server makes me crying? You’re right, there probably is an overflow on all of the high-populated servers, but at least there likely isn’t multiple. I can’t almost guarantee Blackgate has at least 3-4+.
Almost guarantee = I have no proof.
No, being disappointed isn’t what makes you a cryer, it’s coming on the forums and complaining about it that does. Especially, when it’s not the guesting that’s causing it because other servers are having the same issues.

Sanctum of “We don’t need a channel to coordinate with” Rall will be a long time before they beat Teq.
You want to know the queen’s secret? I’ll tell you…. She isn’t the only child of that particular royal family… I know this because I was the one who took the other one away from Jannah’s evil clutch. Now that you all have discovered how I look, come hunt me with pitch forks and torches, because I only die by “cold” things… like a raw fish
It’s not exactly a secret. The order of whispers has known this for some time. It’s in the human storyline.
Instancing would suck. Can you imagine being kicked 14 1/2 minutes into a successful fight?
There are many things to do on this fight. You can use your shattering build to protect the people that are using the turrets, for example.
and not get enough damage tagged on tequatl to get credit.
No need to “tag” for credit. I didnt hit him once and still got a daily chest first time out. The rewards are tied in to the event status not how much you hit him.
What chest? Did I miss a chest?
The “daily” reward chest, the one that pops up on the right hand side above the minimap. I got mines from defending turrets, nothing more.
Rewards for the event are tied to the status of the event. As long as you participate in any part of the event you will be credited for a reward.
Thanks. I misunderstood. I got credit for the daily plus the hunting achievement for showing up to the fight.

Don’t nerf it. Besides people with jobs haven’t even logged on yet.
Some of us are lucky enough to be able to go home for lunch.
I liked it, but I can’t see myself or anyone else continuing to do it if you always fail with no reward.
Of coarse.
What’s the point of playing if there are no drugs…. uh rewards. Isn’t that why we’re all here? We’re here to get some drugs… uh rewards.
Let’s be honest…if I only play for an hour every day, or even a few hours, why would I do a 15-minute event (+ waiting time) when I could just run CoF p1 and get 1.5g? Then maybe SE or CoF p2 for another 1.5g? If players are going to invest time into something, they at least want to get credit for it. 50c for failing isn’t worth 15 minutes.
Don’t get me wrong, it was fun, and when (if) we finally beat him, it will feel great, which is what Anet wants, but it just won’t be worth doing if the event fails 95%+ of the time.
If you only play an hour a day, then you probably didn’t play Teq anyways.
if you have a life, it is not so epic waste time when the event fails.
Oh, please. Whenever any MMO has hard content, people pull out the ‘I have a life’ card. No. Stop. This content’s difficulty and how much of ‘a life’ you have have no connection. Stop complaining and learn the fight, please.
events must be well measured, otherwise alienate persons from doing so.
the event is not as spectacular as the trailer has suggested, it is ugly and difficult, and a waste of time if it fails.
Why would I do that?
You do it for the glory!
Farming iron ore and soft wood in Fields of Ruin. Unless there is a guild group there doing a bounty hunt or rush, it’s an empty map. Just saying…
Usually it’s quite empty. However, the other day I was there and saw a line of people running. I thought there was an invasion in the area I didn’t know about. It turns out the zerg was on the champion ogre. I got two champion drops and a chest loot out of the deal. There were more people there than I’ve ever seen in Fields of Ruin ever.
Hey sure, let’s kill all the dragons in 6 months. Then we’ll all just sit around twiddling our thumbs for the rest of our lives.
Laugh at the high level players farming champions in Queensdale, laugh at them hard. Farming in Frostgorge Sound or even Cursed Shore gets you way more money.
How could you not laugh at them? Here they are in their exotic gear and their legendary weapons hunting a lousy low level boar or spider. It’s kind of pathetic actually. Then they get all bent out of shape if someone kills the oak too soon. It is nice to see Queensdale active though.
I’m allergic to cats.
How is this not a sequel to Guild Wars?
So the next release is on 17th of September and the preview on twitch is on 20th. Why? All recent previews were a day before launch. All but one… Queens Speech.
Is it possible that the patch is more then whakittenappears to be?
The 17th is the planned Zombie uprising. Therefore, the dev team will be securing new offices at that time. They figure that they should have everything locked down and be safe from the zombies by the 20th. That’s the reason for the delay.
When there is no such thing as wars between guilds…
I mean you might aswell just called the game: Guilds 2Cause its the follow up to Guild Wars 1…………2 pages for this? Seriously?
Except it kind of isn’t.
Kind of is, hence the kittene
Not really. The story isn’t a continuation of the first as there isn’t much of anything connecting the two together. We do have the interactions with Primordus in Eye of the North, but we don’t ever see that in Guild Wars 2. At all save for a Meta event in Mount Maelstrom and one small section of Kessex and Brisban.
We do see it with the Elder Dragons in general, but that in it of itself isn’t a very strong connection to tie the two together. Dragons were never a threat in Guild Wars, it was the conflict that the human gods had with one another that was the story behind the first series of games.Gameplay-wise… There is nothing in Guild Wars 2 that screams “This is Guild Wars!”
From the profession system to how combat works, nothing in Guild Wars 2 give players a sense that they are playing a Guild Wars kittenle. Nothing.
Hmmm… I think your wong here. There’s quite a few connections to GW1. They are Lions Arch, Hall of Monuments, Pyre, Jora, Svanir, Ogden, Oola, of course there’s Tyria. Guild Wars is not the story of a bunch of guilds getting together to get rowdy. Guild Wars is the story of Tyria. It always has been, and always will be.
I think Zhaitan is just as dead as now as he was after the last dragon crisis many years ago.
I don’t see the Tequatl upgrade as a change to the lore, just a change to the encounter to make it more interesting.
(edited by DarcShriek.5829)
I don’t know if it’s a desperate need or not. But I do think some more titles would be nice to have.
You really can’t assume any statements are firm promises. At best you can use them as guides for the current state and intended direction of the game. Times change, people change, games change. You have to be able to change and adapt to succeed.
I feel dumber for having read this thread. Can I have my time back?
I’d really like to see the Frozen Maw buffed. It’s ridiculously easy.
It’s in a low level zone.
It doesn’t matter what level it’s on. It doesn’t exist in a vacuum where only low level players participate. It’s a world event, and it takes seconds to complete. It’s possible to make it more difficult yet still be accessible to low level characters. You need to stop lying to yourself and realize that it isn’t only low level characters that participate.
If I have to fire lasers, jump over waves, swim to the surface or do other silly mechanics that do not involve my class abilities, I’m not doing it.
If I have to fight alongside 80+ other players to stand a chance of killing the boss, I’m not doing it.
If the boss is on a 15 minute duration timer, I’m not doing it.
The encounter could drop a guaranteed legendary or ascended item but if the above is true, I’m not doing it.
You’ve already made your opinion known about anything that requires more than 1 player. We’re not surprised about this. Wouldn’t you be happier playing Diablo?
I’d really like to see the Frozen Maw buffed. It’s ridiculously easy.
I agree….new content every 2 weeks is really impacting progress in the normal parts of the game. I could easily live with once a month updates rather than every 2 weeks. It’s getting to the point where I cringe when i hear of new content.
That really true. I cant even progress with maps or personal story for last 3 months. It’s all cause – Living story got so time consuming.
They should really make it a monthly release as it was inteded on the start but stic to how much content we get now.
Actually, the claim is false. I have a full time job, a family and friends that I hang out with. I enjoy the updates and the pace that they come out. The type of people that can enjoy these updates are the people that don’t feel they have to do everything today.
what’s next, anet limiting their players to 45 minutes of play time per day? This is ridiculous.
You have been active for one hour. Please take a break.
I got a lot of stones during the invasion. More than I’ve ever seen before. The large increase in supply could explain the drop in prices.
Fear is caused by lack of knowledge. Don’t know about something is good, but refuse to learn it just means you are ignorant.
Ah, but ignorance is bliss.
Not really, we just say that so you don’t feel so bad.
I bet they’ll be back.
It’s impossible to stop farmers. Whenever you change the rules, you just create a new best place to farm. The farmers will all then head to that best place. Farmers are a force of nature in MMOs. No matter what you do, farmers gonna farm.
Two of the original GW founders left? Great, I already put hundreds of dollars into the game and now I learn that the company may turn it into yet another interwebz grindfest?
So people are complaining that LW is driving ANet developers away who left the company long before GW2 was created…hmmm…yeah that makes sense.
- Jeff Strain left ANet in 2008 for NCSoft West and then left NCSoft in 2009.
- Patrick Wyatt left ANet in 2008 for NCSoft West and then left NCSoft and is currently part of En Masse Entertainment.
- GW2 was announced in 2007, shown off to the public in 2009, and released in 2012. Those guys were long gone before much of GW2 was even developed let alone the LW.
While I agree that the LW stuff may come a tad too fast…personally I’d like to see every 3-4 weeks instead of the current schedule, but people cannot claim that game developers are leaving because of the current LW plan.
this is just pure speculation on my part, but if Living story/world concept was in gw2 at inception and, if by chance, all those devs were so opposed to the living story/world concept that they jumped ship before real development began, then HYPOTHETICALLY, you could assume that Living story/World content did in fact drive away some of ANet’s Top developers.
Of course, these could just be normal career changes. Really, does there have to be nefarious reasons behind everything?

Between the champ drops and the chests, there is simply too much loot in Queensdale.
It used to be a statue of my PC, but she stole credit for that also.
People saying we should get ’em via the bags or the MF are… well, kind of missing the most important point.
The point being, Silver Doubloons manage to make the Juggernaut significantly more difficult/ expensive than most other legendaries.
So what? It’s a legendary, it’s supposed to be expensive. If you want to go cheap, then get a different weapon.
The letter bomb was a nice touch, though.
Pssh. Any progeny who took a beginner’s class in explosives and went to a Wintersday surplus shop could’ve done that. I expected something more impressive from one who has allegedly graduated all three colleges in record time.
Personal nemesis? I hope not. I certainly won’t consider her one. I can think of some other characters more deserving of that title.
But it was wrapped nice with a pretty bow! What more could you ask for from a psycho girlfriend.
This just comes down to Stat Snobbery…
Ppl mad b/c they don’t get Berzerkers 24/7 as drops. Even though speed clearing 5 Dungeons in 1 hour which = easy Shards to just craft their own stats instead…
….I’m Playing a very very very small Violin for them right nowGet It
The fact that I can craft Ascended weapons doesn’t change anything about the flaw in their design.
Although I’m not mad, just surprised anyone would think this is a good design.
Anet, I suggest you remove the ascended weapon drop entirely and replace with a single blue item. That’s what people that complain about receiving ascended weapon drops deserve.
You missed my point so hard I don’t even know why you bother posting.
I would literally rather get a blue drop than any of the utterly useless stats (meaning anything but Berserker, Assassin, Valkyrie and maybe Knight’s).
Getting a random weapon has a lot higher chance of being useful than a random stat. The fact that of the 17 available stats, only 2 are really desirable, and 2 are acceptable means that I have a 76%+ chance of getting a completely worthless stat that I wouldn’t even think about using, ever. And it’s not even sellable (and salvageable?)
Whereas at least every weapon outside of Torch would find a character I could use it on.
I didn’t miss your point. You received as a drop one of the most powerful weapons in the game and as a thank you, you complained that it wasn’t good enough.
Yes, a Magi Ascended weapon would be FANTASTIC, totally the best in the game. Oh wait, a Berserker Rare weapon would out-perform it. You can’t possibly attempt to justify the silly manner of acquisition involved with these crates just by going WAH BE GRATEFUL, especially when they’re account bound and thus become total dead weight if the stats are worthless to you. If they’re going to be that way, then they should be tradeable.
I can see how a substandard player would have problems adapting to weapons other than those prescribed by the internet meta builds. Is that the problem you face?
Only Mark Wahlberg can save us now!
Jim Morrison would open it for us if he were here.

It’s not Rata Sum, read the dev post here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/lore/The-Uncategorized-Fractal-is-Rata-Sum/first
As for the ascalonian fractal, it appears to be right before the whole foefire thing.
Edit: Didn’t take the time to read all the posts and saw that Konig beat me to the dev reply.
Thanks, I hadn’t seen that one. Has the lab in Brisbane been ruled out yet? What about Rata Pten? Could this be related to what caused the Asura to go underground?
I’m ready to explore some new lands.
Gifts that go boom and everything else. She probably needs a good spanking. She definately needs to pull out the stick that’s up her kitten (hmm…. that didn’t turn out right).
