Ok, I stand corrected and blame Anet for crappy tool tips. Since it doesn’t say on hover over until after you use spear. Still, its an unblockable pull on a specialization with traps and a passive knock back. Beyond how trolly it is in WvW against defender’s on a wall. It should be blockable.

Guild upgrades were way off base. Firstly, WvW is about a “WORLD” community, not a Guild. The capacity to contribute should be equal for every member of a world. HoT and the Guild Buff’s created a vast inequality.
Second, Anet has proven to have an extremely poor ability or desire to promote and grow our Worlds. The only reason the communities we have had exist is due to the sheer amount of work and effort by the player base. Pretty much in spite of developer actions since the Mega Server.

Umm… not in the least! You have PvP with stats with training wheels. Then you have WvW with Ascended and Legendary gear stats, food, boosters, guild buffs, and world bonuses. PvE and WvW are not “balanced” with sPvP.

it doesn’t need a rework. change it to each projectile that hits the same target deals 20% less damage. 100%, 80% and 60% if you hit one player with 3, 3x 100% if it’s 3 different players.
It does. Just like sword 3. Losing damage in groupfights is not fun, ya know? Imagine your skills dealing 66% less damage to some guy just bc his teammates shows up.

Herald sustain is nothing special at all compared to scrapper. If you feed herald and heal them to full hp then its l2p issue on your part.
Can you please stop defending revs in every thread? They are ridicolously overtuned and needs nerfing. If not the dmg, nerf the mobility or vise versa. They are just too versitile at the moment.

No, Warriors are kitten. The fact that you don’t find Revenants vastly overtuned is just mind-blowing.
I’ve been running a Rev with Scholar runes and Zerker trying to pump out every last ounce of Damage from it. Still not in the realm of Berzerker Warrior or DH. So saying “vastly overtuned” is really a stretch.
Now only if they could do this to the Legendaries in The Silverwaste.
Well, it’s more that we went from all Bunker to all Burst Meta and it’s even more “unfun” now. I have no clue why it’s so hard for the Devs to reel in the extremes? My tin foil hat say’s that balancing is more about what’s more entertaining for the Streaming Audience than fun for the player base.
If I farm Stronghold, you farm Stronghold, and they farm Stronghold, then Stronghold becomes not so easy to farm any longer does it? Just food for thought….

Yes, Aqua Breathers should have alterable stats for the sake of continuity. It should be counted as Armor too since it replaces our headgear.
Speaking of Aqua Breathers, I really wish the “Rime-Rimmed Mariner’s Rebreather” was a skin or an effects channel that allowed us to skin our Ascended Aqua Breather with. It’s a great effect that now is wasted on an Exotic breather.
Based on the volume of certain markets, I would agree that there’s been a decrease in play time of veteran players.
I’ve noticed since HoT that the demands of the game keep increasing. The past week or so though, CPU usage has jumped a lot. I’m talking about jumps of up to 76% increases on the “Best Performance” setting. As in the percentage of my CPU usage has increased by 76%, not that the game is using 76%. What’s also interesting to me is that Memory usage appears slightly less, even with running the 64 bit client.
I don’t know what it is but, I’m hoping a Dev see’s this and begins to look at what might have changed. I spent all last night tearing my system apart to clean and do maintenance. Then performed performance test to make certain it’s running well. My system scores are all within performance tolerances. I can only assume it’s the game being a bit more resource heavy.
I’ll uninstall and reinstall to see if that changes anything. Anyone have any suggestions to lower CPU consumption beyond setting for “Best Performance”?
As the title suggest, either the Ascended ring “Snaff’s Gyre” is bugged or was an oversight when creating the Attunement tables. Please fix or create whatever is needed so we can Infuse and Attune our “Snaff’s Gyre”.
The sample size is just too small.
To look at this objectively, one would have to look at the number of unique accounts logging in and going into WvW and how frequently. I have no doubts the number has dropped since HoT launched. Which say’s something right there. Next, for this list, you’d have to account for what percentage of players can read English and use the forums. The Then ask what percentage of those players is 100.
Who are “real” WvW guilds?
PPT guilds? GvG guilds? Roaming guilds?
A “real” WvW player/guild would actually have to care about the score and outcome of a WvW match. If you think caring about the score is being too strict. Then try going into any other part of the game, like say Ranked sPvP, and say “I don’t care about the score”. Go into a Raid, a Dungeon, a Fractal, or anywhere in PvE and say, “I don’t care about beating the Boss.”
oh, and an option to remove the annoying “Deploy Glider” nag message. DO NOT need it at all. It also blocks the view of my character so I can’t see where I’m falling to.

Yes, I was having some success with a non typical Burn Guard. Condition builds on Guard just do not work. We need many more active weapon skill that dish out conditions.
The biggest problem with HoT is that it’s an expansion. I felt before and more so now, that expansions are the wrong way to add content. It’s too much at once for a game with as vast amount of content as GW2. If they gave us HoT as the living story did, in pieces, it would have been far better received.
There are things I like about HoT. I like Gliding, my Revenant and Reaper, Stronghold, and Autoloot. Other than that though, I was happier playing before Hot. I don’t know if I’m happy playing now really. It’s more just trudging thru task’s I set for myself.
This should certainly be something we can key bind ourselves.
The Speed Bonus still broken since HoT release. Any kind of transform and you lose the speed buff. Which is incredibly annoying so please, fix it so it works again.

No, neither nor, with the current scoring winning and loosing in WvW is as important as winning or loosing EotM, and 4h matches fit my preferences much better than 168h matches.

You never needed more than 50 people to rule EU-night.
Today you need maybe 20 to have +500PPT or +10k per night (0:00-5:00 UTC).
As I said in another thread, if you can’t muster a defense against 20 players, then you deserve to lose. It’s a 24/7 game mode and it’s been a 24/7 game mode since launch. If all you do is play for 3-4 hours and have no coverage the other 20-21 hours, then you absolutely deserve to lose.

or why should us EU daytime players have privileges over anyone else’s timezone? what is prime time for us isn’t prime time for others, it is what it is, if you dont have players playing at what is our night time that is just unlucky cant have 1 rule for one and another for others
Why? Because the server clearly states that it’s an EU server when you choose it. That’s why.
But whilst I’m not entirely in agreement with the OP, I think he has an interesting idea in a “vulnerability window” like the Crowfall devs have talked about.
So i happen to know several people that live in EU and are on EU servers and due to real life circumstances there play time is not EU prime time, now they aren’t allowed to play exactly same way as we all are just because you have gone to bed? seems fair….
as others have stated, if your server doesn’t have a “night-shift” that is just unlucky for your server or any others that don’t.
And also being in EU servers it does not state anywhere you HAVE to play a certain time to contribute to your servers scoreSo some entire servers have to suffer because a few people on nightshifts want to PvE all of the the maps. Seems fair.

if moving 1 guild makes a server drop in tier means the server isn’t strong enough they need to work harder following same rule as everyone, anybody shouldn’t get special treatment because of different timezone , pretty simple if you ask me.The point I liked to make was, that 1 night-guild let a server climb from EU-11 to EU-1, rather then that the server collapsed when the guild left.
I call Bull Kitten on this! One guild of what, 500? Did the Guild have coverage for 20 hours a day? No World deserves to win if you they lose 20 hours out of the day. You have to win for the majority of the 24 hour period each day. It’s a 24/7 game mode.

Here’s the problem in a nut shell, that people see anything but “their time” is “off time”.
No. My time (morning) turned into off-time 2.5 years ago. Off-time is simply: whenever there aren’t enough people to play all maps. I’ve heard several server have now always off-time.
See… here’s the thing, who’s “morning” do you speak of? Also, what quantifies “enough people to play all maps?” You certainly do not need a map queue to “play the map”.
Do to geography, there are inherent time zones that have fewer players. This image helps illustrate that better maybe. That is not something to design around as that is equal to all servers. Organizing for that is a feature of WvW play.
I want the old game back, not the old borderlands.
I want to heal and use utilities in mist form again, I want to have points to spend in 5 trait lines that affect my stats, I wanna Ride the Lightning across EBG with the skill on a 12 second cooldown like it used to be, I want Meteornado back, I want SAB back…
There are so much things in this game that got removed, including the concept of build variety.

To go into this conversation deeper, we really have to look at the availability of potential players for a 24/7 game mode. The map I attached is the best visual representation of potential players to the game. Now, if there was a map like this of actual GW2 WvW players, that would be amazing. Though only Anet could create such a thing.
The greatest division and creator of “off time” is having three regional data centers. It’s great for players ping times and lag but, it is still the greatest division for WvW.

I kinda like it. Had the biggest “LOL” I’ve had in game in a while playing it yesterday. Got stuck in match that was 1v2 from the start. Never got new players in, just the 1v2. The fun part for me was that I was the 1 and I won!
I’m sorry wth is this thread? Fresh Air Ele is still a pretty OP build. Maybe not as much in PvP but, in WvW the same build is still nuts. 50%-60% damage reduction and DS still clearing conditions really well. Overloading Air hits way too hard at 1.5-2k procs x 18. That’s just too much for one button press and all that passive defense.
I also suspect that the defenders I used to see were a key part of WvW that could be easily overlooked

No, Ele was too strong and the changes needed to be a reduction to pull them inline.
The problems with Stronghold are the rush and general lack of PvP. The meta is a lame race with minimal enemy engagement.
Most of my matches go over 10 minutes and frequently the full 15 minutes. I’m also hitting about 750k damage output sooo… there’s certainly PvP taking place.
Right now I wouldn’t change anything in Stronghold until we see what comes out of the new balance patch.

I’m just pointing this out since you decided to put it in capitals. That was the Spear of Justice pulling him into Ring of Warding the second time. The first time was a 5/2 for stealth and was just short of pulling it off. Then the guard snared and pulled him back into it.
I’m hoping DH get’s knocked down a couple of pegs in today’s balance patch. It really needs it.
Why not just make the gate guards champions and reduce skritt damage? That’d slow stronghold games down a bit, hopefully less “30 seconds in and the premade has already killed the lord” scenarios.
Ummm… how about NO! Most of my Stronghold matches go the full 15 minutes. The quick runs should not be possible with balance patch today.
I completely agree, there should be more variety in sPvP. I wanted to toss the computer out the window after getting in a rut of Temple and Foefire, Temple and Foefire, on and on. Also, speaking of variety, there should be water combat! Bring back Capricorn!!!!!!

For the general discussion, this is a poor method if testing a Professions damage output. Since it’s a test dummy, you are completely disregarding burning damage. Also, what other benefits are there like the Guardians getting 33% incoming damage reduction while AA’ing.

Almost like someone with a speech impediment (like Barry Kripke on Big Bang) saying “river”…with an ‘n’ on the end (wivver-n).
Exactly this, they pronounce it wiv-vern. I’ve never heard anyone pronounce it that way in my entire life. It’s always been Why-vern. Heck, you can click the lil speaker icon on any dictionary website and it’s Why-vern. Google “Wyvern pronunciation” and the top ones all say “why-vern”.
Right when they announced HoT and Colin said “wiv-vern”, players corrected him on here and Reddit. They had plenty of time to fix it even. Just boils my blood it does.
