Couldn’t this be solved with changing how resource nodes are spawned? Nodes should never spawn in the same place, they should just be scattered around the area randomly.
I’m not sure if this would help, but it’s a thought.
Not really because that hack is related to the acutal node – it won’t matter where it is on the map.
I have also seen this happen – twice.

Nothing suss…
Just runnign through ‘Straits of Devastation’. Yeah, many waypoints contested lol. Although ‘Temple of Balthazar’ was opened for a while .
I have been pulled by mobs on couple of occasions, however, during my exploration I was taking on 3-5 mobs at the same time. At one point I was soloing against two vets and didnt realise till later on lol.
Overall, Orr, thus far, seems not too troublesome. Sure there are annoying moments, however, knowing which targets to pick when helps.
Oh, and yes the instantaneous mob respawning was the only thing getting me killed.
Anyways I’m in Orr now so if anyone needs to buddy-up I’ll gladly help out with world completion – as long as our paths are somewhat similar

Lol at people rejoycing at bug fixes…
Sounds to me that some players are too desperate for the game, in their opinion, to be “perfect”.

We also have no auras underwater T_T
Whoever designed our underwater kit must have completely forgotten about how eles work :/No auras, no combos, no conjures, no elementals, no storms
And yet enemy damage is exactly the same as on land…
Totally agreee – underwater fighting system is disadvantageous.
Do not click this link!
The staff combo sequence I use is this:
Fire(3,2) -> Earth(4,2,5) (I also use 3 if the enemies have ranged weapons and/or 5 if mobs are in line) -> Air(5,4) (I might also use 2 to push a mob into the field to shock it) -> Water (2,4) (might use 5 if there are allies nearby) -> Back to Fire.
Rinse and repeat…oh and watch all of the boons stack up lol!

The water mechanics are somewhat buggy:
- Missing hits on target
- Strafing results in enemy resetting and becoming invulnerable
- Overall movements between the two parties is weird at times

Yeah im from AUS as well. I do not understand why there aren’t even one server in AUS for this game.
I’m sure the cost of running it would not be considerable, however, it would show that Anet supports its Australian gamers – which I’m sure there are plenty.

This discussion is really derailing in circles…
Those who think eles are underpowered go switch class, otherwise, learn to play this class.
Yes there are some (minor) things that need adjusting but discussions such as this blow this out of proprotion.
Do not click this link!
People who think the class isn’t designed optimally to attunement swap should watch the very old video of one of the devs (Karl) playing a staff elementalist. Guy attunement dances like crazy and is effective because of it. Mr. Quizzles said it best, so I don’t need to add anything else.
I can further support this with my own experience.
Thunderhead waypoint (Straits of Devastation) was contested and I was passing by. Saw few fallen team mates and the chaos surronding that area. I arrived and started attunement dancing all over the mobs: Unsteady Ground, Eruption, Static Field, Ice Spike, Geyser, Healing Rain, Flame Burst and Lava Font. Just kept on boogying and moonwalking boons for everyone around me.
In the end few players were like “WTF…well that was a turn around”.
There is a reason why this class is called elementalist…use it or change class…otherwise your not fullfilling and dishing out maximum damage.

I did knock of 1/3 of its health by pulled other mobs as well lol….didn’t evnd well then lol.

Basic necessities such as bank slots and equipment should be standardised even though the exchange rate is going up.
600 gems for 30 extra bank slots equates to about 8G at the moment. This, in my opinion , is not reasonable.

Something interesting I noticed and has worked 100% of the time, not exaggerating at all, but if you are combat locked, move (this is will be subjective) as far as you can from where the mobs originally started to attack / follow you.
Best way to know if you are far enough is if you notice your HP is regenerating quickly / moving faster / can change your skills / out of combat.
I wrote that like 4 posts above… lol
The game put you in comabt mode based on the known mobs in range. Sometimes it glitches and even though the mobs are not attacking you, you are still within the range – so you need move far away from any mob. It is annoying and it has happend to me on several occasions. Whats more annoying is that it doesnt matter if you are above or below the enemy – its like the radial distance that is the factor.
Two things give notice that you are NOT in combat:
1) Movement speed increases.
2) Health regenerates.
How to make this happen? Read my post…

CD on it is fine. This is a powerfull cantrip and should not be used too often, otherwise, IT WILL imbalance the gameplay – especially in PvP/WvW

Once that is done its time to tackle dungeons…perhaps I could join some group raids with you guys then?

I think people overlook the way an elementalist produces damage.
A warrior does direct damge (melee) whereas an elementalist deals it via also creating conditions on the enemy and boons on one self. Therefore, it is logical to have an elementalist’s direct damage smaller than when compared to a warior since it will level its self out, especially BY ATTUNEMENT SWAPPING.
This is the core mechanic of using an elementalist, and sure its fine to use one element for the most part, however, to deal maximum damage all 4 elements need to be used.
As for the trait line. This is used to further add to each players prefered playing style. Each element focuses more on certain game mechanics (i.e. support, tank, damage etc.). In the end, in general, majority of players will find benefits to use certain aspects of the traitline and will focus on them more than others.

I am slowly progressing towards Ruins of Orr – doing my world completion. The thing is, the further I have progressed the more bugs I encouterd, specifically at the higher level zones. (i.e. NPC flaws with renown hearts, contested way points happening too often, mobs appearing in non-explorable places or invulnerable, etc.)
The way I would see this is that the Devs have not polished the game properly towards the end zones. It may even sound like the game was rushed.
Everyone is moving forward towards the later parts of the game, yet when you reach it it (can) make gameplay unenjoyable in large part – kind of sad TBH.

Servers need to be synchronised from memory. You take GMT+0 of one and synch the rest to it, therefore based on where you play, you may find that you can do this achievement twice in your day.

Based on this link http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Map_completion
Quote – Some players report not receiving the reward for world completion. One solution is visiting the Chantry of Secrets to trigger the world completion reward. A more drastic solution is to revisit every zone to trigger the award. If this does not work, afflicted players will have to file a ticket with support.
Part of this achievement also requires you do complete ‘Been There, Done That’ (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hero_

Yeah the “coincidence” between 250 x of a precursor and inventory limt being 250 is…..well… really silly to put it nicely.
IMO, the x ammount of precursor required should be 150. This not only makes progress little bit quicker but you feel like you need “only” 50 more of it again to craft something again that requires 150 of a precursor – it gives apositive feeling that the next goal is not as long/tedious as again when you notice you still have 100 of a certain precursor.
Otherwise just increase the limit to 500.

The spider skillpoint at Urals Delve to the West of Rankor Ruins is also bugged. when you first enter you fight a “veteran spider” this one is a veteran and has the expected stats of one. However when you activate the skillpoint after that one is killed the “veteran spider” that spawns is clearly a champion one that has been mis-labelled. It takes a single player roughly 15/20 minutes to kill it assuming they survive long enough to kite it for that extended period. If a player has no kiting abilities they will not be able to do this unless somebody distracts the spider long enough for you to channel the skillpoint.
This was posted a month ago and it seems nothing has been done about it – I was in the same situation and that spider definitly is NOT a veteran!

A warrior has a simple task – spam the hell out of the enemy with his sword
A Ranger has a simple task – spam the hell out of the enemy with his bowThe other classes I won’t commnet since players tend to compare an elementalist to the above – always talking about DPS/damge/etc.
An elementalist is more versatile and requires more thinking, rather, than spamming one attack style only – thats what a warrior or ranger is for.
I disagree with what you said with Ranger and Warrior examples.
You dont just “Spamm attks” with Warrior or Ranger for DPS!
That’s what horrible players do.I play Warrior and Ranger as well as Elementalist, and those classes require lots of thinking and are all versatile. I play 5 classes as my main and I know when and how to use my skills in combat, When and how to weapon swap with my other classes to adapt to the situation. I dont just spam DPS. I use Cripple, Stun, Chill, endurance regain, Swiftness, Knowckdown, Knowckback, etc etc with all my classes.
As a Warrior, I hardly take hits since Im on constant Move+Dodge as I use Meele and Ranged weapons. DPS is good but should never be only focus with any class.
Then you’re a special case
The general mentality that players have of a warrior and ranger is that you can staticaly spam attack at enemy – hence why those types are generaly easy to control and use.

@ArmageddonAsh, I didn’t say it’s a requirement, I said that I can solo champions + adds when using all 4 elements, and good luck with that if you stick only with Air. With regular mobs, the difference is that you finish fights before they even started when using all 4 elements, while you will always have an uphill struggle when using only one or two.
For example with staff, you can literally drop single mobs before they ever have a chance to hit you, without even moving. IF you use all you available skills. If you use only 25% of your available skills I imagine the results are comparatively slower/weaker.
However, the main point is that people have the right to choose how they want to play – but if they choose to play with a quarter of their chosen class skillset, they should not be complaining that the class is weak and underpowered.
I keep saying this and for some reason it fall on deaf ears…
There is a reason an elementalist has 4 elements to wield…
In general case its fine, however, there will alwyas be situations where one will need to use the entire arsenal.
Quite frankly, the entire DPS/condition damage is split up between the elements, whereas it would basically equal (if not be more) than for a warrior or ranger.

I have 18k HP and AoE attacks in Dungeons kill me instantly, while the Warriors stand in the blow and only loose 2/3 of their HP. Happened yesterday in fractals, Dredge dungeon.
And even with a staff you need to go close to support cause your Auras and heals and… and and… have a low range.
So even as a support you die, not only with a dagger.
Do you stand there in one spot constantly?
Do you use support elementals to draw enemies attention to them?
Do you use all of the elements?
Dredge are slow mobs. Some can dig underground so just dodge. Slow them down, freeze them and/or stun them. What wepons you use?

Have a read through each races biography. I’m sure what ever race you choose there will be some parts you will like and others that you won’t. IMO, it’s more important choosing the profession you will enjoy using because once the story is finished your own “story” contiues for a long time.

Elementalists are not meant to be a tank. The survivability boils down to manily using ALL 4 ELEMENTS.
Why do players want an elementalist to be like a warrior – i.e. every element to be high DPS and good defense.
Seriously…

Yeah the respanws don’t really follow any “logical” trend – definitly not based on how long they should respawn after being killed. Perhaps they are timed by other variables such as meta events, player ammount within the proximity etc.
Its even weirder because differnt zones have differnt respawn rates.

This isnt too difficult as critters (rabbids, birds) are also accountable for this to be achieved. I can pull it of moving between two zones.

You can’t really close the gap. Accomplishments are based on the time/effort put into them. There is no viable way to lower the time/effort for a certain group of people and not have the other NOT be affected as well.
The RNG applies to everyone the same way – the only way to tinker with it is to get/use Magic items. Other than that there needs to be an even playing field for everyone to begin with (i.e. at the core level).

I like the way the elementalist is build. Fire for strength/attack/DPS, Air for movement, Water for healing and support, and Earth for slowing enemies down and defense.
I think people want all of the elements to be as strong as each other, however the reason for having these elements is that they need to be used together to have the effect and reason to use an elementalist – otherwise its all about spamming an attack that looks different.
