I hate to say it but I don’t think we’ll hear any more about a fix for the Traits system until after HoT drops. And the only reason it’ll become a priority for A-Net is because so many people will complain after making Revenants that they’ll be forced to finally address it for real.

This would be silly – I’m not buying a slot for a Revenant until they fix the trait system.

Pushy Guild Representation - Right or Wrong?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’ve been a casual player coming and going from GW2 as I get caught up in various single player console games. I just came back after a long hiatus. I thought would be nifty to try a mesmer for a bit. So this new guild in chat is asking for help forming up and I’m like okay np. Then I’m on this mesmer goofing around with weapon skins and I get a PM saying, “Just a reminder, full representation is required by our guild. Have a nice day.” This from my main guild on my main character.

OMG what?!? I don’t think I can politely express how offended I am atm so I’m just going to quit here.

How do you peeps feel about guilds pushing you to represent them on all your characters?

My real question is whether these “100% Rep” guilds give as much as they ask. Do people in these guilds feel that the guild is giving them enough help to ask for 100% rep? The one guild I joined (and left) that required 100% rep never once contacted me except to ask that I rep and do what they wanted. No “hi”, no asking how I’m doing, no offer of grouping or help….

Just “gimme rep, gimme rep”.

Unfortunately the faces in this game are so similar that you stop paying attention to them.

That’s only for humans and partly norn. Every other race has distinctive faces, very easy to tell apart.

You are correct that some races have better distinction than others. However there is really not enough distinction except in Asura and Charr. Sylvari are better than Norn and Human but not by a lot.

Pushy Guild Representation - Right or Wrong?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Anet allows you to join up to 5 guilds. Guilds that require 100% representation get no interest from me. In my opinion, you should represent a guild when you are participating in guild events. If you are on your own time it should be up to you.

But the real problem with the OP is not knowing that the guild would require 100% rep.

Since ANet decided for this recent event that they would tie more rewards to winning games rather than just playing, there have been some complaints about winning being “hard” or “luck-based”. There’s some truth in that; poor teammates can be a real drag on success. But, I believe that these complaints are chiefly coming from people who suck at games, because people who are good understand how much influence they alone can have in a match. I also believe that many people who are bad at games don’t understand how bad they are or why what they are doing isn’t good enough, and that some of those people could learn to become really good if only they could see the perspective of someone else who is already good.

For those of you who fall into this last category, wanting to get better but not knowing how, here is a video for you - a four-minute video with closed caption commentary (if you turn it on) of the thought process of someone scoring 20+ points in Dragon Ball. This isn’t how all of my matches go, but this attitude and playstyle is what allows me to win just about every match I play. It only takes me about one hour to get through one rep of the reward track, or about a half hour for the wins daily.

Some time in the next week, I may also put together a series of videos showing a whole rep of the reward track to provide a more complete view of what playing so many matches in a row is like, sorta like what I did for the Dragon Bash.

Edit: I just finished recording, editing, and uploading one rep of ten wins, so you can see what this active playstyle looks like over a set of games by checking out this playlist.

Excellent play. But I don’t PvP because I can’t do that lol. The more GW2 asks me to do that, the less I will play GW2 unfortunately.

This is just ….disturbing… female humans already looked 12-17 now you want them even younger? :l

And this is why we can’t have good things.

In all seriousness, can we all agree that “more options for character creation” (the true core behind this post) is something that should be debated, and not how deviants view virtual avatars? That’s almost a completely different topic for Dr. Phil.

You said you never lost a debate…

Yeah, I underestimated the power of trolls derailing my thread. As for the other players I listed, mind you their debate stances were in my side. They were just more detailed in their arguments. I don’t think I would have anything to argue against them, but if I did, it would be a good time.

Edit – On a related note, why are some into older characters, yet against younger? One could claim the internet rule on that too.

Because pre-adult exploitation is a huge problem.

What does Rule 34 mean?

Google it as it can’t be discussed on the forums.

Well, it sort of can. “If it does exist, then there is a group who will fetishize it.” It’s really a stronger term, but we can leave that off.

Though I do believe the OP is trolling this looks to be at most 16 to me:

OP is a well known troll.

That’s really unfair. Just because I bring up valid arguments and never lose debates, is no reason why you should label me a troll.

“Never lose debates”? That’s a pretty strong claim that borders on troll-dom. I’m not going to say anything further than that, but I would be careful if I were you. Sometimes we step over the line and don’t even realize we have.

I’m not caught up on my internet speak, so thanks for clarifying.

As for debates, people here have called me many things. White Knight, Troll, etc. But when you look at my debate history, I’ve never lost a single, serious debate, esp. with regards to the economy. I have, however, been out debated by fellow players like Vol, JT, Behe, and Wanze, because they were willing to provide deeper insight into issues than I was willing to spent time on.

Size and body type can give the illusion of a younger character from far away, but when you get up close, you’ll see that they’re just a short adult.

Maybe Anet can make a “non-combat” character type that allows us to RP as teenagers? These special character types wouldn’t be allowed outside of towns.

I thought you said you wanted an adventuring teenager, now you want to RP a teenager? What kind of RP would you do as a teenager that you can’t do with current characters? (And I’m kindof concerned about an adult wanting to RP a teenager…)

I think maybe this is a cultural difference between gamers? I don’t look at my avatar as some object to drool over. I’m just looking to have more options to customize my characters. In many fantasy movies, you have the teenage hero slaying dragons and wizards, like Harry Potter or Narnia. Having that in game isn’t so bad.

While I don’t understand why a person would get turned on by a cartoon, it is unfortunately the case. If this was a game created for the characters to be young people, with appropriate costumes, that would be fine. But Anet would not take the development effort to do the responsible thing and make the sexy costumes different for what is technically a child character. That’s why I voted “no” to this idea.

ANET: Complaint to you

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

…….
But what ticked me off most of all, was that Anet player was with them. So that is OK with Anet – players ruining other players experience.

I feel my 1h was soundly wasted.
…….

The enjoyment a player gets out of their experience is subjective and differs for everyone. If that group of players were forced to stop doing their chest farm to help you with the forts/defenses it might ruin their experience at that moment. They might have felt their time was wasted. This is all up to the individual.

Personally, mine depends on my mood. Sometimes I go full on taking/defending forts, etc. Sometimes I just want to kick back and run a chest farm to use all those keys/shovels I earned from those events. If I feel like doing one of these things and I find myself in a map doing the other thing, I just look for a new map that aligns with what I want to do.

You may not like what they were doing but this also isn’t something you should be able to report anyone for. Nor should the Anet person be ashamed for it. They did nothing wrong. You say they ruined your experience, right? What if that Anet player had 100 shovels saved up and used them to help everyone in that zerg dig up chests to open? Then they just did something that enhanced the enjoyment those players running the zerg got during that chest farm. It’s all subjective. You may not like it but that doesn’t make it wrong.

Using a metal detector to search for metal in random public areas is a past time for a fair number of people. But if a person chose to go to a public field where a bunch of people were trying to play a game of tag football (or whatever) and walk through that game searching for metal, it wouldn’t be a nice thing to do. Both activities are fine and legal and neither has precedence over the other. But if the people playing a game were there already the person trying to find metal should choose another field rather than disrupt the activity already in progress.

Ultimately, chests shouldn’t be in fort areas. That would help a lot.

I had a very strange thought and maybe it’s blindingly obvious:

Perhaps the reason why there is “a lot of the same” armour easily available in-game is so that they can release exciting and different armour in the gem-store for a premium? It’s a subtle and easy way to incentivise players to use the gemstore who wouldn’t necessarily otherwise.

When I think about it, the only decent medium armours are available in gemstore only. Krytan and Striders- both are very different to the standard trench-coat. Magitech is much more ornate than what you’d find in-game.

My opinion on the OP: Yes, I would absolutely love new, exciting and different armours. It’s great to see new styles. I’d love to see these new armours available through normal drops/crafting than gemstore only.

I’m sure that has something to do with it. However there should still be more variety – store items should be desirable in their own right, not just because you’re bored with the in-game armor choices.

That’s what I mean when I say fun and that’s exactly what I expected this game to have, it’s own versions of course. I can recall the talks in interviews about how they carved out special nooks and crannies all throughout Tyria to have special hidden places so that the players would feel rewarded when they went to those places.

Well, I assume that they were talking about story, not loot. Most of those special hidden places don’t even have chests so I’m not sure I would expect to get loot from them. And I do love those places and finding the stories there.

But I do agree that they need to ease up. Perhaps Legendaries should remain very rare, but Ascended and other nice things don’t need to be so rare.

* Traditional Euro-American standards

There are human cultures in the world where females are hunters are males are caregivers, and others where both can fulfill either role. The whole “boys are superheroes and girls are princesses” religious stereotype is not universal in any way.

First, you can keep the word “religious” out since it has nothing to do with that stereotype. Perhaps that’s a translation issue?

And I disagree that the idea of a powerful male and a “princess-like” female is solely Euro-American.

But luckily in modern times we have enough powerful women and “pretty” men that we don’t have to worry about being chained to these stereotypes.

I think the point is that we should have choices in what each sex wears. Whether I want my female Charr to look fierce or pretty, I should have that choice.

The same goes for Human female armor – not to derail the thread but I would like the choice to look fierce rather than sexy there also.

I did like the Noble’s outfit, mind you. Even on my girl char, that looks positively dapper. I wonder if it feels more natural on the species because it’s also non-gender-specific?

I think they can differentiate the genders without Charr female adventurers having to look girly. Have some girly things for those that want, but have some that are not cause I don’t want a girly adventurer.

So you’re saying that GW2 has a style it should stick to? Like how quaggan hats go so well with everything? I saw your later comment but the problem with separating “costumes” from “armor” is that they are both worn together.

No, I agree with the OP – lets have some variety. I’d also like to see some additional headgear for characters with long hair that doesn’t get rid of their long hair or end up being hidden by the hair.

Order Selection

I think it would be good if Anet could create a way to change Orders. People might join one order and then find out they would rather be in another. Since Orders are a Roleplay thing it only makes sense to be able to roleplay what you like. And I don’t like the answer of “reroll”. Some people make investments (time, effort, thinking up a story, not just gold or whatever) in creating a character that they don’t want to have to try to reproduce. And why should they? IRL I can change my college degree while still in school, I can change my career even if I’ve been doing the same thing for 20 years, etc. Its normal for people to change their mind as time goes by.

While I don’t want “cutesy” female armor for my Asura or Charr, I also don’t like that there is zero difference between male and female armor. Its just lame. Why offer different sexes for those races if there are very little ways of telling the difference anyway?

One huge problem is the stupid long coats / skirted armor. If male armor didn’t have it you could at least give females the option of skirts. But since almost every kitten armor has a skirt you can’t use that to tell sex…

The New Dailies -- Feedback welcome

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Djinn.9245

My take is that the old regional events daily is superior to the zone event daily. Why?

  • Event scaling and event design across the entire game seem to reach a maximum player density that the event can support. Take the defend event after the escort to the second beacon in the Melandru chain. Mobs run, invulnerable, to their attack point. Players pile AoE on the attack point. Mobs die almost as fast as their starter zone counterparts. Spreading daily event completionists across multiple zones in a region would cut down player density to some degree.
  • Players could choose to visit the level range in the region that their character level is closest to. I’d prefer to take an 80 to Frostgorge, Fireheart, Mount M. and Bloodtide over taking them to Queensdale, Wayfarer, etc.

Mega-servers should have solved the “nobody in a zone” issue. Why, then, attract so many players to one zone? What’s the point?

Yep.

What I would like is to be able to right-click a character and get a dropdown menu with a choice to “View Character”. Then I could have a large window, like the Hero panel, that shows the character I clicked.

This way I can view a character’s outfit and turn them like in the Hero panel. This would be much better than zooming my camera way in and walking around the character trying to get a good look, especially with Asura

The problem, DeceiverX, is that your example hinges on the idea that someone cannot beat a piece of content. I’m sorry, but my dad recently picked up this game and has never dodged once. He clicks his skills with his mouse, slowly (he had multiple strokes last year).
He doesn’t block.
He doesn’t dodge.
He doesn’t do anything reactive.

And he has only ever run into issues in a dungeon, and only because he was kicked, party never even remotely wiped.

There is no “stuck on X” in GW2’s PvE. That’s by design, it is extremely easy so as to never exclude someone.

I’m sure not a lot of people want to admit it, but it is certainly possible to get stuck on content and there is definitely content that is not “extremely easy” for some people at least.

I’m not sure why you assume that your experiences are the same for everyone else.

It is reminiscent to the GW1’s skillbooks.

Here is how it works:

  • Adept Traits- Any mob can drop it.
  • Master Traits- Any Champion mob can drop it.
  • Grandmaster Traits- Any Legendary boss can drop it.

If the character already unlocked a certain trait book, then that character will not get that trait book ever again.

Pro:

  • More choices. Plus it’ll make loot tables more interesting.
  • Any additions to the trait system can’t be bad.

Cons:

  • It won’t revert to the old system.

Is there really any reason to make public who the forum specialist are since they mostly are there to report back to ANet? I don’t see why someone needs a tag for that. Having a tag opens up possibilities of them being constantly harassed about being white knights and ANet toadies. Imo, it would be better not to have people publicly labeled as being “semi official” when they have no official function other than collate information and report or linking official posts (which anyone can do).

That is a really thought-provoking comment!

What do others feel about this? I’m very interested in feedback on the subject of making specialists public or not.

I completely agree with Astral. If some people would like to contribute by compiling information from a forum and presenting it to Anet, let them do it behind the scenes. I think it would be less trouble for everyone.

If they are the type of person to answer questions anyway, then there is no need to give them a special title. Anet can say all they want that the “Specialist” doesn’t speak for them but there will always be some people who perceive that the Specialist does have some kind of special relationship with Anet. As others have said, I have seen it in other games.

Djinn — do you sense Guhracie is “labeling?” He mentions his position was to not participate when certain words are used as a slur. If you feel he’s making his personal choice too hurriedly, it’s a harmless choice, as he is choosing not to participate. He’s not saying he’ll get into the thread and flame the forum member, or that he’ll report and hope they get smited by all the powers of The Six Gods. He’s just saying “If someone uses slurs, I’m out.”

Or do you see it differently?

I completely agree with Guhracie and said so shortly after the OP. In my post above yours here, I’m speaking about the various people kittenponded to the OP defending their right to negatively label (slur) – especially those thinking it is fine to call someone a “complainer” if they had a post(s) in which they were complaining.

Complainer is not necessarily a slur, unless you consider voicing a complaint to be a bad thing I suppose. It means one who is complaining. It is an accurate description of behavior. Were it to be carried beyond current activity, or used dismissively, then
It might very well be intended as a slur.

Is refering to someone participating on these forums as a forum goer or poster a slur ? How about player in the context of a GW2 player ? Customer ? All labels.

What is the point of calling someone that name? That is the point. You can say “I’m just calling it as I see it”. Do you call people fat when you see them? No, there is no point in trying to label people as “being” something that they happen to do just when you are watching. That isn’t “what they are”.

And once again we get shoved in a lvl 1 area (!!!) to do events – Metrica province – and AGAIN fractals. So Anet can say goodbye to any new player who started today and made an Asura as first character.

You’re assuming a new player will be more concerned with getting events done than exploration, and hearts and vistas and such don’t count for the daily, so people aren’t farming those.

What I know is that new players see the talk about events in chat and get all excited that something is happening and want to join in. They say “omw” or “wait for me” but they have to run there because they have no WP yet. So by the time they get there the event is long-done. Then they get really frustrated if they do that more than once. How do I know? I see it in chat.

Do all new players do this? Obviously I can’t say that. But it does happen and I have seen at least one say they were quitting. And that’s just my limited experience spending 10 min in the zone.

Other new players are frustrated that a bunch of people are running around doing things which the new people don’t know about. And others are frustrated that areas of the map are being pinged that aren’t revealed yet for them so they don’t know how to get there. (Again from chat.)

I’m certain that there are new players who just go about their business, but I also know it is affecting some new players negatively.

But I’ve seen people say they’re quitting and they never quit. It doesn’t matter what people say because people so often don’t tell the truth.

If they run and get the way points this time, they’ll have them for the next time. Having the way points isn’t a bad thing anyway.

Everyone is always quitting. Yet they’re back playing before you know it.

I’ve never played an MMO without frustrations.

So your answer is not to worry about people being frustrated because people who say they’re quitting don’t actually quit or come back? LOL

There are many people who quit an MMO because they are frustrated and more importantly, many people who quit that never say anything. Ignoring player frustration because “I’ve never played an MMO without frustrations” is a bad idea. But hopefully Anet doesn’t share your attitude.

My answer is that you shouldn’t make a game by hostage. People threatening to quit to get what they want are not the kind of players I’d want playing my game anyway. I’ve seen too much of it and many if not most of the posts about that come of as self-entitled whining. I don’t like this so I’m leaving. I don’t like that, so I’m leaving. Of course, there are exceptions, but you know, you can’t stop people from expressing their opinion.

I think you’ve missed the point. I never said I was threatening to quit, nor have I said that Anet should change anything because people are threatening to quit. I have simply pointed out that introducing a zerg into a beginner area is frustrating for new players with one example (of multiple) of how a new player can become frustrated enough to threaten to quit. Yes, new players are often frustrated anyway, but why purposefully add to that frustration?

The daily isn’t the game. It’s one tiny part of the game and right now, it’s a smaller part of the game than before, because most of the rewards are tied to log in, which gives players more freedom to do what they want if they’re only after laurels and mystic coins.

I disagree that it is “tiny”. It is large enough to appear in the ui of objectives at the top right of the screen. Just under story objectives.

In my post above yours here, I’m speaking about the various people who replied to the OP defending their right to negatively label (slur) – especially those thinking it is fine to call someone a “complainer” if they had a post(s) in which they were complaining.

I simultaneously admire the desire to reduce personal attacks on the forums and think that this thread is likely to do more harm than good.

Its not the thread that is harmful, its the people who felt they had to respond in order to defend either their desire to insult people or their desire to apply labels to people they don’t even know.

On forums, I rarely actually know the posters so it would be silly for me to try to label them based only on the words they write on the forums. They have whole other lives that they live outside the forums, how would it make sense for me to label them on this tiny portion? That’s like you happen to witness a person tripping and you decide to say “that’s a clumsy person” based on that tiny sample of their life.

To clarify, i am not saying that I believe that the OP is likely to do more harm than good. I think that the intentions expressed are laudable.

A thread is comprised of its constituent posts. The pattern in this one does not seem positive to me.

As to labels, I suppose it depends on the circumstances. If I am complaining and someone refers to me as a complainer (one who is complaining) then they are accurately describing me in that thread. I certainly do not, would not, take that as an insult.

The problem is that there is no benefit to labeling a person based on one thread. What you are really talking about is their words in that instance, not the person himself. So what is the point of labeling the person instead of their words?

Forum specialists

I think it would be very helpful to have something, not necessarily a separate account, to distinguish when they are acting as a forum specialist and when they are simply posting as a normal forum member.

Even if it’s as simple as making a rule that they put a banner or something at the top of forum specialist posts, for example:

Forum Specialist

That way it’s clear to everyone how their posts should be taken – tagged ones are them acting in their official role, untagged ones are simply a normal post.

Otherwise I think there may be a tendency to take everything they say as official word from Anet, or at least as an indication of what your position is likely to be, and that would be frustrating both for specialist who want to keep posting their own opinions, ideas and speculation and for everyone else who has to interact with them.

They wouldn’t need to label their posts as being “official” or “unofficial” since the program description says they will only post in “player-to-player (unofficial)” capacity.

I don’t support more attention to PvP. I’ve had enough of Anet trying to shove PvP down our throats – more investment in PvP will just make them do it more.

Second, the majority of MMOs don’t have any PvP at all.

Supply and demand – if the majority of players wanted PvP there would be more PvP.

Majority MMOs without Open World PvP? That statement is probably true.
Majority of MMOs with no PVP at all, what? Every MMO that I ever played had PvP. Tera has PvP, Guild Wars 1/ Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, Wildstar, Star Trek Online, EVE Online, ArcheAge, (Runescape for Gods Sakes) what?!

Where did you get the “majority of MMOs don’t have PvP” from?

Like I said, why are you insisting to undermine your own opinion by throwing out points that you can’t prove?

You are correct, that should have read “many” MMOs have no PvP at all. The rest still stands.

Really? I haven’t noted a large number. And I have noted over time several open PvP MMOs that were in the works have never been finished.

Sure any PvP only MMO is going to have a fair number of people because they don’t have a lot of games to choose from. Players who don’t like PvP have a huge number of MMOs to choose from so they’re more spread out.

Eternal Crusade is upcoming and I can’t wait! Then there’s Planetside. Then World of Warcraft’s PvP servers were always more full on Europe than PVE. When Wildstar launched there were more players on the PvP realms on EU side once again, then developers completely messed up PvP and refused to fix it, so now it’s a ghost town.

A lot of reason as to why Guild Wars 2 survived its bumpy bits was because of its WvW. For a very long time there were no updates before Season 1, when Season 1 started updates were few and far between, but players stayed because they were fighting in WvW. Both modes (WvW and Spvp) are very alive, meaning that even in this game PvP is alive and well, therefore trying to undermine a side that no matter the percentage is still a fair amount of people (even if the split is 80% PVE, 20% PvP, having in mind that PvP modes are very alive, it would be unwise to claim that almost nobody likes them) doesn’t add anything good to the argument.

I’ve been playing GW2 since beta and WvW is not what kept me playing during the “bumpy bits”. I just kept playing PvE and it was fine. I’m not sure how you can say that GW2 survived because of WvW – I’m pretty sure Anet employees aren’t allowed to give out that information…

And I didn’t say “almost nobody”, I said that since the majority of players don’t like PvP why are the majority of Daily choices PvP? Just logic, not trying to slam any mode.

You want more PVE dailies. How many people like or dislike PvP do not matter for that particular request, so just keep that out of it. You don’t need to justify wanting more dailies. We all want a bigger variety of dailies to pick from.

Giving increased options to all modes would still = 2/3 of Daily options being PvP. Which I would still disagree with.

I went to this horrible restaurant last night. They had over 100 menu items. I have chosen to not eat meat or carbs which only left me with 5 choices for meals. Needless to say, I was not impressed and wrote them a negative review about how they lack choices.

Lol, not a good analogy. Most MMO players don’t like PvP. That is proven by how few open world PvP MMOs there are. Yet the vast majority of Dailies are in PvP. WvW is PvP no matter what Anet says. What people don’t like about PvP is other players stalking / killing them which can happen in WvW which makes it PvP by definition.

So there go 2/3 of the choice for most people off the bat. To use the restaurant analogy it would be like a restaurant being silly enough to have 2/3 of its menu consist of food that the majority of the customers don’t like.

I’m going to assume that you have never really played PvP or WvW.

Why would you assume that?

You’re also speculating that the “majority” of players are PvE only. If you’re going to use that to back up your argument then provide proof.

First there is the fact that the vast majority of MMOs do not have open world PvP. Second, the majority of MMOs don’t have any PvP at all. Finally, the vast majority of MMOs that launched with an open-world PvP quickly ended up putting PvP in designated areas or moving PvP to certain servers only.

Supply and demand – if the majority of players wanted PvP there would be more PvP.

and if you think that it’s a small amount of people that like it, you must have not been on a single PvP only game.

Sure any PvP only MMO is going to have a fair number of people because they don’t have a lot of games to choose from. Players who don’t like PvP have a huge number of MMOs to choose from so they’re more spread out.

However nobody should be forced into modes that they don’t like. I never stepped foot in WvW, but I’m happy with Spvp. So more choice for all of the modes would be exactly what people want.

I completely agree.

Hello.
Just found this thread.

  • THE PVP DAILY IS BIGCATKITTEN MESSED UP BLEEEEH. PLEASE REMOVE IT. NOW. NO FANCY WORDS, NOW !!

It does more harm than good. Few poeple try a new class while most already bad pvers in pvp now go on a class theyre not familiar with, while matchmaking still puts them quite high.
MY MESMER GUILDIE IS LAUGHING KILLING THIEVES ON THIEF DAILY DAYS FOR SAKE.

I apologize for the rudeness.

Well in my opinion, players who joins solo or team PvP with a class they have never played are pretty dumb in the first place. So in short, it is not the daily fault it is the players who are stupid enough to join solo or team arenas when they are in need of practice in Hotjoin.

I don’t do PvP: is there a tutorial? Players see these tasks in their Dailies window so they want to try them – are they directed as to the best way to start doing PvP?

What I dislike especially about events in the starter zone is I have to make a choice whether to about help others find events.

People are asking in map chat “where are events?”
1) An event pops up near me. I ping the waypoint and give fast directions. By the time I get there, the event is almost over and by the time the people that listened to me get there, it’s done. They wasted silver and time listening to me and got nothing.
2) One pops near me but I say nothing. It still makes me feel bad because I’m not helping others who are repeatedly asking about events.

Either way I feel like I’m get in a lose/lose situation with these events. I want to be social and help others but I’m getting into situations where either I almost trolling people or I’m keeping events to myself.

The best way I found to deal with this daily is to chose not go to the zone in question at all that day. Even put off things you were planning to do there anyway (like map completion) to another day. Isn’t this system great? It offers so much choice.

They also added a meta-fun-component to the dailies that was never there before. Instead of the rather bland daily dodger, you now get to experience the daily elation of looking at your completed daily overview and realizing how many crap dailies you dodged that day while going for the 3 least time consuming ones. Fun!

Yea, yesterday I was pondering whether to do the “Zone” daily and when I should do it. I usually play during Prime Time North America, so I thought if I wait until very late or early this morning that might be better.

So instead of just playing, I’m trying to strategize my play to have the least impact on the new player area. Something that Anet should have done before implementing this horrible system.
