No, my Internet Properties Panel looks just like your screenshot. I did follow my husband’s advice on Sunday, telling Firefox not to use a proxy. He said the malware had put that in, that I had no need for a proxy. (He is a computer professional).

I’ve been checking the new Flamekissed in game, having held onto a set in anticipation. I don’t really like the female version because it’s missing some of the delicate detail the original had and the flames seem less well integrated. It doesn’t really suit my clothes horse because of the way the flames work, and is too revealing for my elegant noblewoman.

The male version will be great for my guild leader’s elementalist alt, though.

I posted in Game Bugs (and have a ticket in) but the ticket’s unanswered thus far and in Bugs all I got was “do a search to find out how to clear your cache.”

My TP’s been down since Sunday morning when I purged some malware using the current free version of MalwareBytes. I get nothing in the panel but the grey-brown background. I followed the cache clearing instructions I was able to find (those being well over a year old), and verified via Task Manager that the awesomium process is running when I attempt to view the TP. Since some sources said MalwareBytes was the culprit I uninstalled it to test and nope, still can’t get in despite many relogs, game restarts, and computer restarts.

I very much want to get some of the new Lovestruck weapons, as well as the watchwork pick. I have all of one claim ticket, so without TP and Gem Store access I’m hosed.

Does anyone know how to persuade my computer to get to the TP? And can you lay it out for me step by step? I’m a bit desperate but still wary of messing things up worse or inviting in more malware.

Ok, now it’s -really- annoying not to have access. Happily I already have a Flamekissed in the bank to check out but I only have one BL Ticket and I love all the Lovestruck other than the bow/shortbow. I will want TP purchasing power ><

I’m sure there is something I could do on my computer to fix this problem but I need help finding out what it is. How long does it normally take to get a ticket answer? I don’t usually file them.

I have 2 80 Mesmers and 1 80 Ele. Ele is too much piano playing for me. My first Mesmer got to 80 without a lick of RP even though RP is generally my drive to level, it was that much fun past level 20 or so. She’s also my only Asura, with hilarious animations. Mesmers have hax skills when downed and are tougher than Eles to start.

So while it will be a very personal choice — every profession has adherents who find it more fun than any other — my recommendation is work on the Mesmer some more, play with weapon choices to see what feels most fun, and don’t give up early on.

I also will nab a hammer to help out but only after I’ve done some dps via siege or my own skills. I felt good last night about saving 2 ballistas and a barricade a few times over, it felt like I was really helping my lane stop leaks. Happily I read a post about the lack of credit before my first hammer stint.

Ohhh right. Well, you might need to guest somewhere. I almost never get in main on TC to fight the marionette and I end up in full overflows (that often beat it). I have been swimming in cyphers. In fact I’ve had to junk yellows in the Forge because the TP is still broken for me.

If you could reach out and touch one of the … wasps, good name for them … you’re too close. Just move to the nearest clear space not holding any wasps.

Our main just lost, 4/5 chains cut, because of warden 5 of all things. Despite enormous amounts of commentary in map both before the puppet dropped and during fights as lanes got warned what to expect, lane after lane failed 5. I started in 1 and moved to 5 (got warden 4 there because lane 4 goofed), and then lanes 1, 2, and 3 all lost warden 5. It seems people aren’t reading Map because 5 is absolutely the easiest one if you just stack on the regulator and point blank aoe. You don’t even have to see the warden clones. Yep platforms had a few people running all over.

It’s got to be people who don’t read map or see the /say in the lane. Or, vaguely possible, trolls deliberately messing it up. Next fight I’ll try explaining it without any slang at all since not everyone knows what “stack” or “hug the regulator” or “pbaoe” means.

Um, what key? If you’re missing just one of the meta achieves, do the daily in just over an hour from now.

I’m still trying to avoid that cursed platform one Stomp. I got all the others, but I got the meta long before that thanks to dailies.

Ha, Zomaarwat, that is my other solution. It’s certainly a goad to getting the monthly done soonest! I’ll have this month’s done with tomorrow night’s daily, and could have done the 12 jumping puzzles to finish this weekend except I enjoy the marionette fight too much so I keep going back to Lornar’s.

Trying so hard not to spoil it for you, but this is a known puzzle. Keep looking around the lair for stuff it might help you with.

I also wanted Winged or a variant. Or the PvP Masquerade. Ah well. It still looks promising depending on textures and color channels and flame location.

I’m not sure GW2’s ToS allows gambling. I’m not sure it doesn’t, either. You might want to check on that.

As far as the most likely in-lore mount goes: Dolyaks. Yeah, real speed advantage there. Other than the ones with rockets on, of course. /points@ScarletLair

Actually I’ve been pushing this thread because my TP break is not the same as what everyone else has. I have a non-loading TP most likely due to something local to my machine. Good advice, though, Kelly.

Edit: Also of note, when I close the game I get a split second popup window that looks like the one you get when you hard crash the game and ANet wants a note about what you were doing at the time. I can’t be sure that’s what it is because it is only there a brief moment but it seems to happen almost every time I exit.

Revisiting this to note that I don’t even see the Quaggan Maintenance art. So I am afraid that once the TP’s back up for everyone else, I’ll still be high and dry. Someone in Map last night said they’d gone literally months without the TP towards game start. I do not want this to happen to me, the game rapidly becomes unplayable if I cannot dispose of items or purchase items to gear my characters.

Plus I do want to buy the watchwork pick and will be pretty miffed if it leaves the store before I can buy and spend the gems. I’d intended to buy it Saturday only I got caught up in a lot of chatter and action and didn’t have the down time for it.

All the how-to-clear-cache posts are from 2012 or early 2013. I’d prefer a more up to date answer since following the old methods did me no good. Or else cache clearing isn’t the problem.

Again I did just update the free version of MalwareBytes, do a scan, and quarantine a mess of files that were forcing Firefox’s new tabs to go to Bing. Among them were some sort of “protection” program that I uninstalled only to have it still Binging me. This was a new thing foisted on me when I tried to get a replacement desktop clock. The TP worked while the malware was active, but has failed since I purged it.

I have submitted a ticket to Support as well. But does anyone have enough Win7 knowledge to give me some idea what steps I can take?

It happens regularly enough that I expect it on every watchwork champ in lane 5 and am ready to spin and keep firing. Happily the barricades don’t obstruct my shots. Still it’s an annoying bug — I dunno if it’s worth a hotfix though, on temporary content.

Oh, good find, WatchTheShow. That head is pretty definitely the painting one. I’m looking forward to what new things we might get on Tuesday beyond the Edge map, as I’m sure the nonPvP world will have a lot of stuff. Shadow, I think you’re slightly off in your spoiler. The final part is actually in the 5th piece. There is no console message, though there are very interesting things to see via the console.

Azzer, people who don’t like getting attacked don’t go to those places. Until they have to if they want the meta for the current LS. That’s where the complaints are coming from, people who really want a gas mask or a tentacle backpack or a quartz node in their home instance or whatever the one-time-only-never-see-again item is, and the only way to achieve it is to go into a non-cooperative area in a game primarily designed to appeal to those who like to help each other.

The problem is I can’t tell what things would clip, or cover stuff you want visible. For instance the Scout’s Coat (T1 cultural) will show your pants just fine but cover your gloves.

to see a lot of options (not all of them, there might be some gem shop or limited time items not in the gallery). The old Argos Soft had a list of all the places to acquire the skins. This new version doesn’t seem to, but you can wiki for the individual item name.

You might miss some loot even with this trick, but try binding aoe loot to a key you use for nothing else. Then tap that key as often as you can in a fight without compromising your and your teammates’ survival. You needn’t even see the bags on the ground, the sparkles will flow to you.

The only way I’ve found is to specifically track one thing on it. Then the rest don’t pop up.

Which type of farming do you mean? Gathering mats or killing things?

When you get the prompt to enter, does it say “continue your Personal Story?” If you’re entering without that you are in the generic instance.

He’s the only one. He’s been there, and he’s cameo’d in the Personal Story.

Also if you got them from before the trader, then the only way to convert them to sellable versions is to stack them with vendor-bought ones (from what I read on the forums).

Well, I deleted the gw2cache I found in Temp. Now “gw2cache” has zero results in a search. But the TP still won’t load. (Yes, I relaunched the game). My bags are getting choked up.

I know there have been recent posts from others with this issue, but google finds nothing more recent than last fall.

All day today I have not had access to the TP or Gem Store. I can still pick up coin at the trader, but do nothing else. I just get a blank window in the area where information should load. This has persisted through a game restart and then a full computer restart.

I’d like to sell things from Scarlet’s Lair chests, and possibly buy things in the Gem Store (I was toying with getting RNG keys, or the new pick). Not having had this problem before, I didn’t memorize the answers people gave on fixing it.

Yes, the difference lies in a sometimes fine line between PvPing because you enjoy fighting, and doing it specifically and intentionally to make others unhappy.

I’m fine with losing fights. Me, I keep doing marionette for fun, even when we lose, even though I have the meta, because I enjoy the heck out it. I’ve even enjoyed WvW, one epic time I was on a section of wall that had no way down because the parts to either side were destroyed and the ground covered with opposing zerg, exchanging ranged fire with the enemy, and died a glorious death. What I’m not fine with is when the only point someone has in attacking me at all is to hurt my fun, with no other benefit to them (free bags my rear, I really doubt anyone’s leaping for joy that they got a blue item from killing me).

Hmm. Supposedly you will be teamed with everyone of the same server color. So if he and you are both Red, then maybe you can join up?

You get Pristine Toxic Spores sometimes from the Toxic chest. I just open whatever I have the keys for, check for what fragments I got, and fill out with the Spare Keys to open more boxes. Sometimes you get more Scarlet fragments from the other chests and can open that one another time.

Then we need a new term for people who enjoy killing players who have no interest in player-to-player combat.

Queuing up for WvW is proof that you have interest in player to player combat. If you truly have no interest, you wouldn’t have clicked on the button that takes you there.

It’s griefing if you specifically seek people doing the achievements with the goal of preventing them from succeeding and without regard to pursuit of real objectives in the map (perhaps even camping them so every time they get back to the achieve point you can jump them). It’s regular combat if you just happen on them and fighting occurs.

I believe it was announced it would not. I don’t have a direct cite for you, though.

I don’t see this as anything new or bad. In fact I look forward to it. Think of it as a map with open world PVP. Where you go to complete a few quests and such but have to watch your back the entire time to make sure you don’t get PK’d.

Well, that’s exactly the feeling I hate most. I gave up on Killer in college because I couldn’t focus on coursework due to worrying about little foam disks hitting me or “bombs” under my chairs … paranoia is not fun for me. I quit Age of Conan because they put the RP server on a PvP server and that was utterly toxic. I like to trust people, I guess.

Anyway, I’ll withhold judgment until I see how it all works. Hopefully they haven’t set it up so griefers can deliberately camp achievers like in the LS EBG JP achieves. I have done a lot of WvW exploration and even just fighting, it’s doable, it’s simply not fun in more than very small doses and it’s really nasty when people use it to hurt others rather than honorably compete.

Congratulations! Question, was it an overflow that you specifically taxied to or was it luck of the draw who was there?

Thieves are -the- successful WvW class. They’re squishy in PvE (I speak as someone who mained a thief for a long time, and still does ICly).

As to leveling, this game is one you don’t want to rush that. Everything you do will level you, there is no leveling curve after level 10. Explore, find things, gather nodes, do events, rez people. By the time you’re 80 you will be quite glad of the exploration because you’ll want all the waypoints so as to get to stuff asap.

The only things higher levels get you are: more skill and trait options (most useful if you’ve played your class enough to know what is helpful, plus you’ll need them in WvW), dungeon access (and there’s time, the dungeons aren’t temporary), and the ability to see all the zones on the map (Orr will eat you alive if you’re not high enough). Cooler looking armor, too, except with transmutation you can put any look on you want, if you have the stones/crystals needed.

That’s all very nice, but there’s no need to have it -now-. You’ll miss a lot of the game.

Hmm. This will be a matter of personal taste, of course. But I’m not thrilled by the legs (I don’t like the crude spikebumpthings) and the boots are too slim to balance the large shoulders. I’d personally go for smoother legs (not necessarily slim ones, just more refined) and slightly heftier boots given the bulk of the shoulders and flare of the helm.

I think (don’t know, think) that your only way to do it is to buy another skin of the same sort and stack it. I’m not sure that works with these, though, as they may not stack. The change from account bound to tradeable came at the price of only newly vendor-bought ones being tradeable.

I’ve liked all the new music. I think it’s even had more personality than the Soule stuff (and I do like the Soule stuff, enough that 4 of the cd’s in my car cd player are the soundtrack).

Given all the stuff that’s come to light from Soule’s company DirectSong, though, I’d rather at this point that he wasn’t involved. The original soundtrack gets somewhat repetitive in tone and I’ve started to feel he sort of phoned in on the composition. Obviously ANet has access to real musical talent; let’s keep on with that.

(I am not saying Soule doesn’t have real talent. Only that so do other people).
