I’m not sure if all of those have been gone, but they are in Promotions now.

I’m surprised, because I thought Tuesday was the store reset day, I could swear the countdown was at 3 days left as of Saturday.

I’m sure they have read it, along with every other build template request thread over the past few years (there have been many).

The last word from ANet I know of on this matter is Colin in an interview agreeing that templates are a good idea but saying they are not part of the HoT release. So perhaps maybe possibly they might could one day get around to starting work on templates, but it shan’t be with the initial raids.

I don’t know if there will ever be a cd of the game at all; if there is, that would be what you would have in the physical jewelbox. Right now all you get in the case is a serial code. Purchasing digitally directly from ANet gives you a lot more security as far as support goes, or any needed refunds.

So unless you want an empty shell of a jewel case as a marker for owning the game, or don’t have the financial setup needed for online purchases, there’s not much need to buy it physically.

At this point you should submit a support ticket. I think they were all supposed to be sent out over a weekend.

Agreed on the ticket but first make sure your mailbox is clear enough to receive mail. That’s a common enough problem with mailed items that you might have a solution a lot faster than waiting for Support to tell you to empty your mailbox.

I guess I’ll buy stuff with my blooms today just in case they patch out the vendor tomorrow (unless someone has a link to an ANet post that the vendor will be there longer; I know the community keeps saying it’ll be there for “months” but I’ve seen no source).

That just doesn’t seem right. More HP than exist in the game? And enough more that it will become a huge grind for alts even if the HP get added?

But note it’s 170 for skills/traits, the last 80 are for skins. Also note that datamining can be hideously inaccurate.

The easiest way for you to learn the answer is to go in game and open your Friends list and look at what you see.

I just did that. You get a colored box saying if someone is online, afk, or offline, their current character name in white, and their account name (without the 4 numbers) in grey, followed by their AP total in white. You can edit the account name into any note you like to explain to yourself who this person is.

I think what you do is go into the Heart of the Mists (the PvP lobby area) by any of the various means one does that, then you get an option at the top of your screen to join stuff — or else you need to bring up the PvP panel, I’m not sure, I’ve only ever done one match — and you select “Unranked.” That will put you in the Stronghold arena.

When I did the first beta test of Stronghold (that being the one PvP match I’ve done) I was able to join along with two friends, it wasn’t totally random. I don’t recall having a lot of trouble finding my way in, either, it was pretty clear once in the lobby.

I had it happen to me last HBWE. My Reaper got stuck in place a few times. She could move her legs like she was walking, but only a movement ability got her unstuck from that spot on the ground.

All the practical advice above is great, and likely highest priority. But be advised that a number of things are leaving the gem store on Tuesday so if any of them appear to be a must-have to you, tomorrow evening is sort of the deadline. They are all purely cosmetic, a number of armor skins, outfits, and finishers, and the skins/outfits will probably come back some time in the next year. The finishers will not be gem purchasable in the future; they may be attainable in game.

Again, far from vital to playing the game. Storage space trumps all; everyone’s advice to you is aimed at getting you more space and more efficiency. Yet part of this game is about the looks, so take a peek at the Promotions tab to see what’s leaving and then go to the Style tab to see it (or the Wardrobe tab of your bank). You can preview the finishers in your hero panel finishers tab.

You might even see it this Tuesday. They are wiping out a lot of currently sold items to make room for other things — and it is now the fall. So check on Tuesday before you do any upgrades.

After two days of watching Twitch streams it’s all a blur. Could have been in a PoI or a blog or the initial raids announcement (or later in the con where that happened) or in one of the segments in the past two days. But I’m positive a dev stated firmly that it would be two weeks post release so people didn’t feel quite as crunched to farm up some masteries. It will be one wing out of three in the first raid.

Today in the raid stream they further said that more raids (or maybe just the other wings?) will arrive very early in 2016, as soon as they are ready, and it won’t be anything like waiting until May for them.

Exactly, they were in HBWE2 and not in HBWE1. So as we move to another area for HBWE3 we may see yet another set of fauna. I could see wyverns being in the canopy, tigers less so, and bristlebacks seem a bit … solid … to gallivant in the treetops.

Not required, you can enter the raid without having a single mastery. But you will likely not do very well in the fights if you haven’t gotten a few masteries under your belt.

The first raid doesn’t open for two weeks after HoT’s launch. So no one will be getting raid rewards in the first two days or even the following week.

I’m sorry, with a little more time on hand I’ve looked through all my beta folders, stress test folders, and up through December 2012. Apparently I never thought to screenshot the loading screen even though I have a number of shots in Kessex itself.

Apparently the second most interesting thing seen these past two days, to judge by Twitch chat (the first being the toaster), was the tin box on the coffee table where the presenters sat for the Guild Chat segments. I said I’d take a picture of mine to share and explain, and one person thought that was a nice idea, so here ‘tis. Apologies for the graininess and dimness, even with the lights blasting in my bathroom it is after all night time and there’s only so much my tablet can manage. It’s a tablet, not a camera, darn it!

The explanation: The original GW2 Collector’s Edition was a fairly large cubical cardboard box, to accommodate the Rytlock statue. The meat of the items, though, were in a large flat tin box with the map of Tyria in topographical relief on top. I said in Twitch chat that my box was empty but when I picked it up, lo and behold, inside were the “soundtrack” and the “making of” book. I put “soundtrack” in quotes because, well, it was a tiny little sampler of a minute or two each of maybe five songs. The soundtrack having been the selling point that tipped me from digital purchase to physical CE, I was rather saddened by this … but hey, I have a very cool tin box still.

It was a lot of fun the whole time for me. And of course there was the epic toaster giveaway at the end (grats to Raven).

Hopefully all pets will be unlocked at creation of the beta Ranger/Druid, but if not, it seems likely the juveniles of the new pets will be quickly acquirable in the jungle. Though hmm. We didn’t see tigers in BWE1, or electric wyverns, and the only flame one was the big one on the platform. BWE3 … heck, HBWE3, because we had BWE3 in 2012 darn it! … is slated for the canopy I think? Which might reduce the juveniles available.

As I recall the original Kessex splash was two giant statues in some green hills. I’ve been scanning my beta and early post-launch folders, can’t find it.

I’d love more episodes with perhaps a more carnivorous flair. So many Tyrian meat dishes … Culinary Cosplay does justice to many of them but why not let Ms. Hale bring them to life?

On the other hand if map completion gives mastery points, then completing maps will retroactively deliver you more points for the start of HoT.

But yeah, I’m not working on any maps other than getting hero points now, since there will be greater rewards for it in the expansion.

It will happen again. I don’t know if it will be a repeat or a fresh one but it’s right after “A Legendary Journey,” which begins in a bit over an hour per the schedule they flashed up before the game show.

Summary for those who weren’t watching: Colin’s voice was going during the “Come Back to GW2” stream. Twitch began calling for water for him. At almost the end of the stream, a good 30 minutes after he began showing strain, a bottle of water was delivered to him, after which he sounded much better.

Then they muted the stream but left the cameras on to see a staffer run up and drop a lot more water bottles in Colin’s lap.

Well, one that people can miss (I did) is Frostgorge Sound, north of Wayfarer Foothills. It’s another level 80 map.

Whoops, I’m listening to that chat but not intently focusing. I didn’t hear that comment, just a lot of “here’s the cool stuff for returning players.” Though I did take a bio break during the clock tower discussion, was it there?

I’d best finish up my Ascended Light armor and put it in the bank … I’ve just been holding off pending advice from a friend on good stats for my fractals mesmer. Which of course won’t be right for the Reaper I want to do most of the weekend on, but whatever!

If they do a character wipe it does seem they should be able to do a bank reset — but I’ll take my depleted beta bank over a mastery reset, any time.

I don’t think that was directly Mordremoth. Remember at the start, “I am this world.” I think that was a mass of vines forming for purpose of the moment but he is simply composed of plants, woven into and through the jungle, and he can make shapes out of those plants, some of them autonomous.

While I don’t know how they can keep the maps permanent content (if they want to) as they are and still do this, I feel that when we finally dispatch Mordy it should involve burning the jungle to bare dirt, creating a huge ecodisaster that affects the world in unanticipated ways.

It’s been proposed before. I’m all for it — if you can figure out how to prevent tremendous TP lag as each time you load a page it has to search every single item and compare it to your account for locked/unlocked.

The thing is that in the Masteries stream today Rubi commented or at least implied we’d be continuing our mastery progress. I’m sorry I don’t recall her exact words.

So maybe account progress can be retained and the corrupted data only affected the created alts? I hope so, because clearly we’ll want gliding as a tool when testing the raid and it would be a pain to spend a few hours re-leveling it before we can test that (I got it through updrafts and lean techniques, plus I got jumping and speed boost mushrooms).

I believe I’ll have a number of hours away from home being social, too, so I reeeeally want to keep my mastery progress.

Most likely for every person that can’t scrape up the funds to buy it until next month begins they have plenty other purchasers that are buying in a panic who might never have bought the items.

Sheesh, I thought the Community Clip was the last thing seeing as how it started less than an hour before the end of the day’s streaming and they hadn’t shown anything after that on the upcoming schedule they posted. I’d have watched the balancing stuff if I’d known, tired though a full day of viewing had made me.

Thanks for getting the notes up, Dulfy, they seem to list everything of importance. I’ll have to assume that if any off the cuff comments were made about pending game stuff that other forumers will point it out.

If you listen to the character creation cutscene dialogue, your noble opines that it is his/her duty to do well by the people of the city, to be a leader. You are shown tossing money to the crowd.

And then you end up with a downed ship of nobles in the jungle making their servants perform music for them and fluff their pillows.

I mean I just did a post full of screenshots, not of wedding outfits, but of LS1 loading screens, and am tired of the process of loading them into posts. Two shots, though, I can do two shots. Fem charr, there is a skirt lift over the tail. I’m not fond of the corset-ish top so I’m not using the outfit on my charr.

On sylvari female you get a glow inside the skirt (have to look up under the legs) but it is a constant luminescence as far as I can tell, with the fourth dye channel controlling its color along with 1/2 of the flower trim hue.

I haven’t studied it as much on sylvari male; I think maybe the “cravat” glows a bit or at least is luminous, but again not pulsing with the sylvari’s own glow.

Lots of us do! If you’re NA I’ll parade it on each race and gender (except male charr), because it looks different by race and gender. It does have four dye channels though on sylvari female two of the channels sort of blend together on the little flowers.

I just did a post full of screenshots and don’t feel like doing a million more … sorry If you say a specific race and gender I can get that for you. Or you could look at Dulfy’s gallery of it for a general idea though her dye choices might not match your interest and the still shots don’t always convey the moving feel.

I have negative musical skill. I cause san loss in others listening to my sad attempts. I also am somewhat rhythm deaf (I literally have to ask if a piece of music is a waltz before I dance to it, though I can bring my feet down on the beat just fine thanks to muscle memory). And yet I can make some pretty darn good riffs on the GW2 drum whereas any tunes I coax out of the other instruments sound good only by sheer luck as I type in the notes transcribed by someone else since there is no way I could translate music to hotkey commands or play by ear.

So I recommend the drum

I have a slew of them! I think I may be missing some. Also since you specifically want loading screens I skipped the cinematic bits … even though I have a great shot of nude Faren boiling in Scarlet’s pot. Sorry Bell Choir got out of order, I missed it when putting up the first Wintersday screens.

Ask again after there’s been some actual testing next weekend. There will not be enough time in the day … I want to test Scrapper and Druid and see how Reaper does in raids and explore the canopy.

They did say our masteries can be worked on even more, so it sounds like we’re keeping our progress so far.

I saw it but even on high settings it was fuzzy and low audio so please alert us when it’s on YouTube or your HoT site with the other trailers.

I’m sure I must have some, I frequently screenshot loading screens. Can you remind me of the dates? I save my raw screenshots by year and month.
