get over it thats how real politics works too
Call of karka sucks. I have a hiding spot where people can spam it right on top of me and the karka will just chill there because it can’t see me. Then again the traps don’t do any good either since I never move once I get enough rations.
well that sounds more like your glitching the game than the skill sucks……ban
u must be joking call of the karka is not the OP skill its call from beyond that needs a nerf! it does too much damage and is WAY TOO EASY to hit somone with and its too cheap
Just drag the vendors shop menu away from your mouse once … the dialogue pops up at the same position … for every vendor.
And then … do you talk to NPCs with doubleclick ? I didn’t even know that this is possible. Better use [F] or right mouse. Your issue has never once happend to me.
well clearly you play the game a different way but that does not mean we shudnt fix the issue, i should have the option of double clicking npc to talk if i want without fear of buying an item
i was kinda hoping that i would get some historical minis for my first guild wars bday
I think most of the arguments given why a race could never become playable are completely wrong themselves.
- Customization: The only race confirmed to have been a candidate for playable race in the current game all look identical as well. All white birds with black pony tales. The fact that they all look identical now just means they haven’t been further developed, which they will be when/if they become playable.
- Evil races: Except for the Krait, I haven’t seen one inherently evil race. (keep in mind that I never played GW1) Of some races we haven’t seen any good ones, but that is mostly because the playable races are allies of their mortal enemies and by extension also their enemies. Centaurs are at war with humans and Dredge were once enslaved by the Dwarves. Keep in mind that Humans and Charr were mortal enemies not to long ago as well. If they can settle their differences, why not Centaurs or Dredge?
There even is one Centaur living in Lion’s Arch who was banished from his tribe for suggesting to make peace with the humans.- Unintelligent races: Except for the Skritt, none of the races are less intelligent than the current playable once. They may have different habits or a different way of speaking, but so are the differences between us humans in the real world. Don’t forget how white people used to treat black and Asian people. Calling a Hylek or a Quaggan dumb is just as racist as calling an African bushman dumb.
As for Skritt. They have shown to be capable enough to help the players fight Zhaitan in Orr, so we can assume, however dumb they may be on their own, they are still not to dumb to be a playable race.Centaurs can’t swim: I wouldn’t know since I have never seen a Centaur swim. I have seen horses swim (IRL, since we all know they aren’t in the game) and they don’t move much different from any other animal in the water. So if, for example, snow leopards can swim (ranger anyone?) why wouldn’t Centaurs be able to?
Naga can’t wear shoes: So? Those things Charr have on their feet don’t look exactly like what my Sylvari is wearing either. Maybe Anet can come up with an alternative for shoes on the Naga? They have to make different skins for each piece of clothing for every race now anyway.
That said I’d like to give a list of races I think might become playable in the future:
- Skritt
- Quaggan
- Hylek
- Grawl
- Ogre
- Kodan
- Tengu
- Troll
- Centaur
- Largos
- Dredge
- Dwarves*
- Jotun*
- Forgotten*
- Mursaat*
- Seers*
- * They fought the elder dragons last time and although four of them are said to be extinct now, evidence that they are still alive seems to pop up from time to time, so we might run in to them in an expansion/Cantha/Elona.
ok u narrowed it down to…..every race in the game thats not a wild animal good job
checkpoints would make it sooooo much better
im not sure why but there are a few materials used in crafting (you know they even say on them the disciplines they are used for and the level you use them at) but they cannot be deposited into the bank as collectibles because they dont have spots in their for some reason, the first thing that comes to mind is gold daubloons (and i assume silver and copper too) but their are others too
ANET plz make slots in the bank collectibles tab for more items like this that are clearly crafting materials
im surpised i didnt hear anything from anyone on this its such a simple and helpful addon
i aggree they are fustrating and not alot of fun when they get too difficult but i wudnt call them lazy programming by any means, i could even learn to like them with a few small changes, like free way points to tele to when i get a certain way through like a checkpoint, or not putting enemies in the jumping puzzles because we both know that making them attack me and thus making me move slower so i cant jump anywhere is BULLlllllll
you mean re add that thing that ruined guild wars 1 by making it totally unnecisary to play with other people? how about no?
Hylex – About as likely as the Kodan
No, Hylek are just as likely as skritt. Kodan have a much better chance than both the hylek and skritt.
I disagree. All it takes to make the hylek playable is to designate one hyleck village as the “capitol city” the same way they did with the Norn. The Norn have no centralized government. Nor do they all give fealty to one ruler. They simply brofist Knut for allowing everyone into his own personal village. So one hylek village chief would substitute perfectly.
thats the exact kind of linear gameplay i dont want, instead of doing the same boring “capital city” idea over again why not let the player choose their starting location in character creation
but i would still prefer the hylek not be playable at all
I would prefer them playable but not having a designated starting area would be shafting the new race,. As it is, it is entirely easy to just move to any other starter area that you want from your own city. Not having a city seems more lazy to me than boring. Since having a captiol city already provides the same benefit as not having one. But now, it just wouldn’t have the lore and background of the new race since those other starter areas are dedicated to the race that own them. without a starter area, you have no connection to the lore of your people, your culture. nothing but a different skin in a zone that has nothing to do with your character.
you still have a starter area, its just smaller and it allows for each starter village to have its own lore, and as for it being a disadvantage….they could still have asura gates…..besides, equal is boring, dont be afraid to try new things
it occurs to me this could also be remedied by adding a 1 second delay or so to the trade window after its opened so that you cant immediatley buy something by accident

i was actually pretty unhappy that charr were a playable race , i do so hate them completly that i would delete the entire charr race from the game just for 1 day of mass charr cub slaying, stop making the bad guys into playable characters, they are BAD GUYS for a reason
so out of a new expansion these are what i would tolerate as new playable races
cantha: luxon, kurzick, imperial and tengu
elona: sunspear, kournan, vabbian
crystal desert: elonian ghosts
maguuma waist: druids
far north: nothing, there are no viable playable races in that area
it is fustratingly easy ( if you use your mouse to talk to npc) to talk to a merchant and then INSTANTLY buy whatever your mouse was hovering over because it counts the same double click+ any third click as a double click to buy an item…..this would be so easy to fix if we just had a tab where we could sellback items we just bought (assuming they were not used in any way) just like the buy back tab
you have only confused me. are they resetting acheivment points? if so booooooo
the dwayna bracers or “heavenly bracers” do not appear because they wind up under any chest armor you are wearing, i hope this gets fixed they look really cool its a shame they are useless atm
rly? its in the hall of monuments “to do” list
for the hall of monuments reward calculator i went to cash in my completed acheivments and one of the ones i was expecting to hand in was the one comlete the domain of anguish….basically kill mallyx and clear the 4 zones…..which i have done an excess of 30 times over the years…..but it wont recognize that one for some reason. i hope it isnt something like “you did it before a certain date so it doesnt count” because that would REALLY suck. some goes for other conqueror monuments like the deep which i KNOW iv finished many times. can these be given to me?
i dont think toughness should do this….but a new stat would be apropriate, would also give more room for new crafting mats and armor combos which would be nice.
when i preveiw armor i want it to look like the dyes i already have, that would be enough for me
I like the idea, however I also understand why ANet didn’t implement it this way
There’s already the issue of overpopulated areas not displaying all the players models, minis are just another model to load. Though I think to modify this idea there should be a minipet slot on your hero panel with your equipment. it should have a toggle button, this would allow players to have them and actually use them, while also preventing them from getting deposited as collectibles when you don’t want a specific one to be.
i almost never run into an overpopulated area so i dont think this would be a huge problem,
this would make me use/ buy minipets way more!
So, basically a guaranteed rare/exotic for 10 minutes playing (which can be done at any time and repeated)?
Doesn’t really sound balanced now, does it?
thats exactly what we have now, 100% chance of yellow from large bosses (albeit with a cooldown timer)
yes we really do need unique drops from bosses in dungeons (and out of dungeons too), it severely limits my enjoyment in this game to know that it rly doesnt matter WHAT i kill….its one of the things i still find appealing about runescape actually, that each monster has its own drop tables.
i really am sick of hearing npc shout at me AN ENDLESS NUMBER OF TIMES,
dont just reduce the frequency anet….say it to each player ONCE and then let that be it…if they dont go they dont go
i would LOVE to change the color of my dragon wings!!!!!!
I miss the extra lines he had… (though I am glad they reduced the repeat rate on foefire base/lord attacks)
i only started playing spvp in about….march? i didnt know he ever had any extra….but the ones he have are so….fake
YOUR BASE IS UNDER ATTACK! YOUR BASE IS UNDER ATTACK! YOUR BASE IS UNDER ATTACK! ………..LAST CHANCE TO NAIL DOWN UR STRATEGY……ok ok ok mr pirate guy i get it, your loud and repeat urself often, can you stop now? no? u cant? welll why not? oh because anet didnt give me an option to turn you off? oooooh =(
i duno what it is about anet and announcers but the “congratulations” girl at the end of dragonball is equally annoying, iv never heard voice acting so ……plastic and out of place. plz get rid of it or atleast let me shut em up.
the drop rate on coffers from holograms has not changed BUT the holograms have beome tougher to solo
when i see that sure, i leave, but not afk it….this should be fixed either way
you make it sound like they arnt making alot of money off this game and this model…it is working, you just want to spend less money, i dont mind the way they are doing it at all, i buy alot from the gem store although i do not buy gamble items ( no keys or coffers)
i noticed that they do drop off a little bit, but not too much, i went from like 7 to 10 a minute to like 4 or 5 a minute but this is offset by the respawn times on the mobs i farm
i thought that would be a reasonable thing at first too, but the score on one team is always zero, never like 60 to 100 but zero, and it doesnt account for the increadible frequency either
i have to quit and rejoin games several times before i find a game that isnt like 0 and 200 or 0 and 300 ect ect, are these people using some sort of exploit? like filling the other team with bots they can kill? whats going on here
it is not likley they will go up very much even in a few years, i speak from experience with the “limited edition minis” from gw1, they will just release a slightly different version of it next year crashing both the old and new minis into obscurity
its not the pathetic ease and frequency of these chest events that bothers me, its the fact that because of them nobody is doing ANYTHING ELSE on the island because of it and that makes the rest of the content unplayable, what a waist
level cap increase: with new rarer than legendary weapons that are BETTER than the regular weapons NOT JUST COSMETIC!….same goes for armor
the return of the dervish and ritualist class
(this one is really important) new types of weapons and more INTERCHANGABLE weapon skills for weapons in existence now
the return of enchancments and hexes (the buffs and debuffs we have now feel very plain and stale)
the return of cantha and elona….and most importantly the domain of anguish
im already kinda unhappy with how sparsly populated the world is , i dont wana spread people out MORE…..
perhaps much of it isnt temporary contant, gw2 hasnt been out long enough for us to see but alot of the stuff in gw1 was seasonal and always returned the same time next year.
it would also be nice if i could NOT click on them and target them like in gw1, they can be a bit of a hastle to have when im strafing and that makes me not want to use them (and not want to buy them….hint hint anet)
this is a simple suggestion but would have very immediate positive effects on the social aspects of the game. the idea of just letting me see all the other players as little blue dots (color doesnt really matter here) when on the same map as them would facilitate teamwork and cooperative play with strangers instead of just relying on the “map chat” it would also be nice to see dead players on the map so that maybe someone will come to my rescue or i can go a bit out of my way for someone else.
this will help dead maps feel alot less dead when i know where everybody is!
but you also would not have profited from it so in the end, no bounce no play
this is legit my first day in gw2 and i am the luckiest noob on earth, i opened a black lion chest and got this ridiculous scroll worth like 300 gold coins…..and i cant sell it because the sell cost for the lion corp is like 9-11 gold coins……i mean cant you just subtract the cost from my purchase?? that makes total sense to me….it feels weird that i have to make 9 gold coins….so that i can get my ridiculous stack of like several 100 gold coins from selling this scroll.
its called “permenant trading post pick up contract” btw
