Necro is fine, the player’s are just awful. It’s the best 1v1er and 2nd best 2v2er in the game. Also most of those builds are freaking awful. What is “Mobile Turrets” Engi? That doesn’t even exist.

Thief is great man. Having fun in PvP. PvE is better with dagger cleave. WvW is easy mode, everyone is terrible.
I disagree with Glock’s assessment here, DP thief is actually pretty good at 1v1. As for your list there’s not that much that I can actually put into words. Really it’s all about actually practicing vs these opponents, there isn’t some magic strategy to beat engis or something that I can tell you other than “interrupt the heal” which is probably impossible for you to execute anyway. Play more bro. Also watch Caed’s stream I guess.

Sorry Glock I gotta disagree with you on this, Im not really sure what build you were running but If it was soldier necro, yes it’s super easy. Zerker necro though is probably the hardest to play in an actual PvP game, it’s more reliant on positioning than even shatter mesmer. Vs a good team Its incredibly difficult to stay alive. I like to think DP thief is hard but compared to Zerker necro not even close. 1v1 though yeah any necro build in general is easy mode.
Also I used to think PvE was EZ, then I did Fractals… Respect for pro PvErs… PvP is still better :P.

DD Thief wont beat a Necro of equal skill, they wont let you gap close, you have limited gap close in the first place, and there’s no way to interrupt the heal. Nice video btw.
Here’s my perspective as a thief:
VS SD thief: Lol good luck
VS DP thief: Still a really hard matchup but a lot more in your favor since you can hit shatters much better. The key is dodging/stun breaking the basilisk venom and avoiding every backstab, but not wasting CDs too fast. You need to burst them hard whenever possible and then back off. The best way to win is to interrupt their stealth and get a really good halting strike and then follow up with a mirror blade+IP double clone shatter which usually kills a DP thief. Also use Diversion aggressively to get halting strike procs.
This is PvP btw, I don’t really know about WvW SA thieves, you can probably just out skill them because most SA thieves are awful.

@Sandrox, you have no idea what you’re talking about. First of all, no DD thief could ever “stomp” me, Ive only ever seen 1 good DD thief and I went 70/30 with him on SD, 100/0 on DP. Also Ive seen Caed play and the way he plays DP wouldnt translate to DD at all. Stop acting like you’re god mode Mr.WvWHero. The fact that you need a crutch such as mobs to Cnd off of just shows how awful the weaponset is. @Mango, I dont know about WvW skirmishes because WvW is full of bad players but in PvP even in a deathmatch mode, a DD thief would get destroyed because if CnD misses once you have to waste CDs, and DD thief can get locked down incredibly easily and cant disengage nearly as well as DP or SD. Also just based on how you think DD is held back by capture points shows your limited knowledge of PvP. It’s actually held back by its reliance on SA taking away from team support, the terrible 1v1 potential it has vs anyone even remotely good, and the lack of survivability it has in a teamfight when locked down. It also lacks in mobility and decap capability because without trickery you cant use SB. 5 much.

I smell a lot of PvE. If it’s really this difficult for you to grasp simple concepts such as stunbreaks I would recommend going back to killing mobs.
People actually care about PPT? Frankly Im not sure why anyone would care about some random score that’s mostly gotten by some random zergs pressing 111 at doors all day. Go into WvW, embrace the fun of wrecking incredibly (emphasis on incredibly) bad players 1v4, that’s all there is too it guys. Unless of course you’re the one getting 1v4ed, which is actually most of the population, then you should PvP more, it helps you get much better than zerging and 111ing does.

Stop spamming L2P. Fighting DD eles is not a L2P issue because you NEVER ASSUME THE OPPONENT IS LESS SKILLED THAN YOU. What if the DD ele knows how to play too? Then you get shrekt because that’s when you really see how OP they are. Watch “The Abjured” play in PvP. Phantaram never loses a single 1v1 ever. Is that cuz he’s best player NA? Possibly, but everyone he beats is similar skill level, so it can be assumed it’s over the top. Even Phantaram himself made a post about how his own class is OP. OP needs to learn to critically think.
Lol, just read OP thoroughly. Necro and Engi… this guy is a joke. Sure, beat Eles on the 2 classes that have the highest chance of beating them and then say “L2P”.

To clear up confusion, this was originally a post that I used to make an old team, but I’m now recycling it since I cant make new topics on the forum.

I’m looking for a team. I’m hands down one of the best thieves in the game in terms of rotational skill, mechanical skill, and decision making and can prove it.
Past accomplishments:
Lost first round in the Go4 Cups 3 times due to bad match ups/ teams that were decent but not “good”/ Pugging.
3-0ed Backpacks Thief in KOTH after he insisted I was bad.
Have trolled several top players into hating me, not that I really care. I find it amusing.
Quit a really good team cuz they wanted me to play DD ele but I think DD ele is lame

1. Necro, too good at its particular role of smashing 2v2 and 1v1s! Signet of Spite and Corrupt Boon instakill classes with limited cleanse such as engi and mesmer! Carried too hard by passives!
2. Elementalist!Stow weapon lightning whip is game breakingly OP and the exploit needs to be fixed! Also tone down might stacking! Then Ele should be somewhat balanced!
3. Every other class, including engis IMO, is balanced my frands!

I actually disagree with your assessment. 26006 is better for teamfights IMO because the burst allows you to instadown people and cleave hard. It offers a lot more damage than 60206, about 5-10% more above 50% health and 25-30% under seems like a good estimate. 60206 on the other hand is much better for 1v1s and side point fighting, and less for teamfights. In teamfights the only purpose is to immob and then shortbow spam because it lacks the spike and has the same sustain as crit strikes in a teamfight. In a side node fight however, it’s much better because vs and engi or ele you can cleanse the burns in stealth while immobing so that your necro/engi partner can condi bomb.

There is no “learn to play” here. Cele ele is god tier at 1v1, you cant outskill them because theyre freaking OP AF. Cele engi is almost fine but they need a longer CD on the block. As it is, engi can delay forever by blocking while waiting for heal.

Im on my phone right now so Im not gonna reply to the whole thing, but Id like to ask when you guys usually practice and on what days.
To prove my point, the other day I decided to become god mode and so I dusted off my ele. I went into the KOTH arena and won every one of my 1v1s for a good 15-16 rounds straight until finally Booms beat me with CELE engi.
