I played turret engi today, its not that good. I actually think that something like minion master is better. Good teams can easily beat turret engis just because of the immobility of turrets.

It doesn’t count as a loss anymore, I believe that “feature” was disabled.

Ok let me clear a few things up…

I’m not a complete no lifer, I have friends and stuff and do social activities. When I get home though I like having a fun game to play, i’m not a Netflix or TV kind of person, I really like MMO type games and I think GW2 Is one of the best right now. It just sucks to me that Anet has gone this direction and refuses to revert a terrible feature after such a large amount of backlash from the community. I like this game and want to continue playing it, and I hate to see it take steps backward.

I still play this game because I have no life. The hours that I still play I spend 1/3-1/2 of my time sitting in the mists doing nothing. Theres nothing to do in the mists, no games or activities in that incredibly large empty space. I wanna do something else but then I’d leave Queue and then what do I do? WvW? That stuff is lame man. I get a Q pop after 7-8 minutes usually. I go into game. Great we have double thief so I have to switch. I go Engi, I kill people, we win. Hooray?

I feel like there’s nothing left for me in this game anymore. Waiting for a Q is incredibly boring, I used to be able to get map completion for my legendary, not anymore. Now Ill never get a legendary. I just sit in the mists looking at the TP. I dont really have that many in game friends/teammates anymore, they’ve all ditched me to play with others and im not sure why. Not because im bad, but apparently some people are “a little better”.Whatever. I used to troll dueling arenas for fun, but I got banned from all of them. I used to enjoy the KOTH server, but thats dead because nobody wants to go in cuz they’re waiting for a Q pop.

Anet killed their own game. I really don’t understand how people still play PvP, and that includes me. I feel like its a chore, not for fun anymore. Unless something really changes I think im packing up my bags and going to Smite.

Ele/Engi- Meta builds are the best 2v2ers in the game, individually best 1v1ers in the game.. what more could you want.

Engi/Necro is also very good.

Another great combo to learn would be Thief/Mesmer. Port around the map bursting targets hard and finishing fights. This is a bit harder to master but is very effective.

^ I could dodge twice and avoid all of that. You’ve just wasted mirror images and decoy and I’ll proceed to 100-0 you. Sorry :/

Yeah especially that “Backpack” guy, what an easy kill. He runs around saying he’s the best engi, but then gets 100-0ed by power rangers. Oh well, maybe one day he will improve.

If a thief looses he’s not very good. Case muted. If the thief would have won, he’s amazing, showcase muted. Yeah I get it.

Those thieves didn’t even dodge your phantasms. Not even once. Then they completely stopped the pressure once they got bombed once and they insta stealed every time. They didn’t even dodge the scepter block sometimes. In no world could those thieves be considered good, if you wanna see how your build does against good thieves I’d happily duel you and the end result will likely be something like 100-0 every time in my favor. Builds based on phantasms can’t counter opponents. You can’t outplay your opponents because AI doesn’t react, and once you hit a certain tier of opponent you cant outplay them so you GET outplayed.

The point im trying to make is that Shatter is the only viable spec other than maybe 44600 CI which is even harder to learn. So you either learn to deal with thieves through positioning/counterplay or you just play a crappy build like condi mesmer. Your choice I guess.

Why would you want this thread deleted? Whenever the whole fear guild shows up you know its going to be entertaining.

So you’re a top thief, one who’s also a pretty decent (understands) mesmer, and you get rekt by shatter mesmers?

I dont get “rekt”. There’s a lot of windows of counterplay on the thief class. If im using BP-HS and the mesmer dazes it then follows up with GS2 shatter I basically die. If the mesmer can bait CDs and live through the initial burst+plasma then they can win. If Im using SD thief if they time it right they can get a clean shatter at the end of flanking strike. If they dodge steal at all the matchup goes into the mesmer’s favor, assuming they’re good of course.

On my SD thief I regularly destroy all other meta specs in 1v1. Sounds like a L2P issue my friend. You cant play whatever spec you want and expect to kill everything. This is PvP land bro, learn to adapt or go home (to WvW).

Nothing in this game is inherently hard to play. Squishy classes with no condi removal however tend to be harder to play than cele classes. The problem here is, there’s a difference between meta builds and non-meta builds. You obviously play berserker warrior. There are certain berserker warrior builds that are good (GS/LB 40406) but you probably play something stupid like A/S GS 56003. The thing is, I can make a crappy glass build like that on any class and it would be “hard to play” because it just straight up sucks in comparison to everything else. Especially since you said power necro, which NEEDS to be babysat vs even somewhat coordinated players and is only used for lich. Who are YOU to tell others what to play?

Optimized comp? They changed 1 player around and I highly doubt Nos will be a large presence when he dies in 10s due to triple Zerker. At first WTS TCG had barely practiced in comparison to the Abjured and NA only really won because of timer, we don’t know how that 5th game could’ve went. Now that TCG has changed their comp and is in practice there’s no way NA is going to win. WTS is definitely going to be ugly Backpack..

In terms of CM, honestly that team is just lame. They counter comp every single team they can’t beat. Literally every other game they completely change classes.

TCG is doing incredible with the new comp. Its sad that CM actually ended up losing a game when they ran a direct counter to TCG’s comp. I actually think TCG could’ve won if they didn’t lose the midpoint in that last game. I feel like they overextend too much unnecessarily and then don’t make fast enough recoveries. Overall though TCG is still the best team in the game(seriously, look closely at the teamwork…just wow). Nothing on NA even compares in terms of pure skill, the Abjured won’t stand a chance in next WTS, not even with the cheesiest comp in the game.

This isn’t about how Thief Mesmer is easy or whatever, it’s about how it would be healthy for the game to have fights go faster and have higher risk higher reward comps instead of having incredibly long fights on all points. In a power meta, it would be possible to make quick plays and wipe people fast to make comebacks, whereas in this cele meta you see teams like The Abjured hold 3-caps forever because they have a bunker on every point while thief and necro +1. Not only that but EVERY class would be viable. As zerkers we would see a lot of mesmers and rangers coming back. We would see the return of bunker guard as a viable on point class. We would still see celestial 3-point comps, but if they get nerfed well enough, they will be equal to the power comps, but with less potential to make clutch plays due to less mobility/no portal, and slightly better at 2v2 and 3v3s than the Thief Mes comp, which is how it should be.

If you’re new to thief DO NOT play 26006 in WvW. Your going to get destroyed and get frustrated and think that the ascended armor you made is a waste (trust me, back in the day I deleted 4 level 80 thieves and rerolled ele several times due to frustration). Play a 26600 build. Search up “Yishis” on Youtube and look at his most recent video. Take the DD build he uses, it works for both DD and DP. Choose your ascended armor based off of that. When you get better at thief play whatever build you want man.

Shout warrior has no damage. Its a gimmick build that’s only really used for warbanner. It doesnt really need nerfs, what needs to happen is Hambow needs some nerf reverts to get people to actually play it again.

It’s not that EU doesn’t know how to rotate, CM’s strategy is that everyone on their team multi classes and every game they just counter spec the opposition… DPS Guard vs Thief Mesmer is a terrible matchup. To answer OP yeah this freaking sucks man, every game I get PvErs on my team and the opposition, one of my matches today everyone was actually below tiger rank and I stomped this one guy and they were all like “wtf why is there a dragon rank in this game”. It’s not even cuz my MMR is low man my WR soloQing in unranked is pretty solid.
