It’s how Anet sees ranger.

No, it’s not. The trait was not acting as intended. I’m sorry that you feel that rangers need broken traits to be competitive, but Anet is going to fix these regardless of what class. Both guardians and engineers had traits disabled because they were not acting as intended. It has nothing to do with class preference, but instead appropriate game balance.

Please, explain us how it was so broken besides the quickness stack which was useless, unless you wanted to waste and entire line pet heal break stun and utility.

Please tell us, I’m very integrating.

It was broken because if you were able to in any way get 16s of ANY boon in the game on you applied by yourself OR ALLIES, you could permanently keep those boons up on the Ranger. That is not intended no matter how much you wish it to be so.

An ele can do the same but it’s not broken?

I don’t wish or want but you can’t say it was broken when ele could and can do the same even better.

The heal itself is bad, 1 sec for 6k of healing 20s, it was barely used because Troll was demanding with the condi cleanse trait.

After patch was actually useful for certain builds and occasions, despite throwning away a pet and an entire line to get it works, it was worth because the duration was long enough to refresh during the combat.

Now is not worth because the duration isn’t enough to refresh during the combat, you need to have a perfect rotation to maintain a decent duration, even so the heal isn’t worth because it’s 1 sec 20 sec duration and it doesn’t give condi cleanse which is demanding in ranger.

I just want to know why did you cap the might to 3 stack, that’s all I want to know.

And please re think your answer because engi necro warrior and ele can stack all the might they want and they haven’t been nerfed.

It should have just been changed to copy only 3 seconds of quickness. The only thing even remotely strong about it was the 18 seconds of quickness you could get. The might was a non-issue.

It seems to ANET the might stacking was indeed a such broken mechanic and they had to cap it asap.

It was an obviously broken trait. Ranger may need some support, but this was clearly wrong. What is also wrong is the personal attacks against the people who simply pointed this out.

was it so wrong to stack might in a proper way?
is it was really that wrong for you friend?
but warrior necro ele engi might stacking isn’t wrong for you right?

Because that why rangers are complaining, it’s because they capped the MIGHT stack to 3 for heal while warriors necros eles and engis can have all the might they want.

The double standard of anet is so obvious, just say it straight you hate rangers so they can reroll to other classes.

While in another dimension d/d eles warriors and engis can stack 25 might and also other boons in their rotation.

Everything is fine now ranger remains useless.

I absolutely agree with you Infantrydiv.

I mean the buffs were great and I’m having fun testing different builds, hey perma 25 might fury swiftness and regeneration is something that only a d/d could had and now we can have it too, but the main problem as you exposed is the mechanic of the weapons, LB atm is mandatory because is the “best in the worst” weapon we actually have.

The buff to the warhorn was pretty good I’m glad with it but Hunter’s Call is so kitten USELESS, it doesn’t do decent dmg it has range bugs and when it lands people just evade one time or block lmao.
-make the skill instant, cd decrease and unblockable that will be a good buff.

GS is a really good weapon but its AA is horrible, it does little damage and it’s slow.
-increase the damage a bit, first chain gives 2 stack of vulnerability 5s, 2nd chain gives weakness for 3s, 3rd chain evade and might.

Sword is decent has 2 evades but its AA is beyond horrible, if GS was bad this is worse.

-I’d like to see something similar to warrior sword AA, like bleed in chains and FAST.

SB is awful, probably the worst weapon we have.

-you can do so many things to improve this weapon but you can start for giving it 1200 range, thanks.

Axe is bad imo, I’ve never liked it anyway but you can always improve.

-AA needs to be faster and increase the might for hit only for PVP.

These are just thoughts which came out of my mind right now so it’s not something formal or anything.

Atm S/D isn’t weak but it’s bad compared to d/p SA so if we nerf SA and remove the nerf to LS then we could see more s/d thieves.

thief state atm is garbage, you can only play d/p sa stealth bot spam, running around the map and waiting for an ally to res.

While thief can do the +1 and decaps it will meta, no matter what build but it will be meta just for those both abilities.

Before the patch you could at least play s/d and do as well as d/p but now is either you play d/p sa or go kitten yoursefl because you will be rather useless.

ahh miss the days when you could choose between s/d, d/p and s/p.

And that’s exactly what they’re doing with daredevil. Except for s/p, because that’s too simple mechanically to be good in PvP (i.e. if they made it powerful enough, complete novices would be too strong with it, because of pistol whip). Basically, daredevil brings back pre-nerf acrobatics, which makes s/d viable again, and they are buffing p/p somewhat (although, like with s/p, it’s too simple mechanically for PvP).

I thought the same, then I tested DD by far the worst spec—- unfinished, recycle animations, clunky staff, the idea behind is good but the implementation is not.

I really hope Karl fix DareDevil so we can actually play something else than dp sa.

Pure PvE/WvW nerf.

Everyone who did not see it coming was either not playing PvE or has a strange sense of balance.

Giving one of the currently most desired classes in PvE one of the best near spammable damage multipliers was a bit insane.

45/36 is fine.

If it was a pure pve/WvW why the kitten did they apply this for pvp lol.

This is so true, this huge nerf (50% cd increase)nerf doesn’t make any sense at all.

Many of my guard friends came back just for this skill and now you nerf it because it was “too strong” this is beyond stupid, the skill was working as intended, good guards used it in the right moments and winning fights with that, is that too strong for you? but it isn’t strong to see a kittening d/d tanking 3 people at the same time and not dying.

I don’t understand your logic at all anet—

But ohh they nerfed blinding ashes from 5s to 8s, this this right here makes a lot of sense….. really anet… really.

Again… the same happened with daredevil and look how bad it is now.

Druid is fine, it’s a really interesting option to play and a new way btw.

I don’t know why some people are saying Druid will replace bunker guard.
Bunker guard is an AoE support who mitigates damage through blocks and retaliation, also they support the team by sharing boons, secure stomps/resses and stability.

Druid is a support as well but in a different way, as Trevor said it doesn’t have any or little stability, it doesn’t share any boons to allies. All of it does is support via healing and AoE cc.

I’m pretty sure if you combine druid + bunker guard you will have an insane support, AoE heal + boon share + cc + AoE quickness + AoE+ stability, you will not kittening die anymore.

stealth is a great mechanic and I’m happy when I see people use it in a good way.

PU mesmer and SA thief for the other part are kittened, both can make a lot of mistakes and still be alive because they have infinite stealth also mesmers are doing enough dmg to hit you for 85% of your hp in one single burst and thieves getting 20% stealth res bot trait, yeah stealth needs a kitten nerf.

I don’t know if anet think that adding instant reveal skills is good, but it’s a step.

imo you should ban Taunt, so we can actually see real rangers and not people being carrying by one trait.

no “real” rangers play without taunt atm. every ranger who you might consider a skilled veteran playing at the highest MMR is running taunt, and will continue to do so. i called this after 2-3 hours of testing on June 23rd. it’s an excellent trait.

I play my ranger without taunt in “highest mmr” and I don’t have any problems.

Also I’ve beaten rangers in 1vs1 without taunt.

imo without taunt the tourny would be more fun.

Hey all,
Let’s start using this thread as the place for feedback, so it’s more centralized. That being said, thanks for all of the constructive feedback! It’s been fun watching a lot of thieves bounding around today. As this is beta, there’s always some kinks to work out. Some notes on the dodging mechanic:
We made a few changes to the system in order to alter your dodge ability. While it’s behaviorally accurate, it doesn’t seem to feel as great when dealing with latency. We’re looking into this and hope to be able to resolve it so that these dodges feel as good as your normal dodge.

We’ll be keeping watch (and playing) over the weekend.
PSA: There’s an issue we’re tracking that if you attempt to use your Daredevil dodge abilities while Dazed, you won’t dodge and you’ll lose the endurance anyway. We aren’t able to fix this for the weekend, but a fix is in the works.

Karl there’s another bug related to GM evades, I don’t know if people already noticed but if you press the dodge two or more times quickly you get one dodge but you lose 2 endurance bars.

Pretty good changes.

I hope we can get some of them in a future balance update.

I do like what they did to traps but what I didn’t like is that we can’t throw them around us anymore and only “plant” them below us, I’d like to see the old mechanic for traps.
Also a good trap buff would be if we could get trap runes in spvp, it would be great for build diversity and traps would be actually useful and scary as they should be.

Not bashing Chaith or anyhting, but you realise that the animation on mesmer moa is far more recognisable and therefore easier to dodge than the AoE moa skill from elixir?

But He threw the moas in the right moment(rampage, cleave, disengage) I remember that AoE moa when orng was ressing rom and all died from that play.

Thanks you phanta and everybody in the WTS, you made my night of 0 sleep worth it!

The matches were spectacular, I couldn’t watch your series vs TCG but I saw the first vs oRNG and the grand finals.

You guys literally played at the best of what you can do, we always say and see Abjured dominating ESL and winning without effort, but yesterday we really saw the true level of these guys.

People were bashing noscoc(myself included) in the first matches but in grand finals I realized he was doing what we know what he can do, kitten and plus fights.

People saying ele is OP, yes it is indeed very strong right now and it needs to be toned down I agree, but what phanta and wakkey did in the WTS 99% of us would never do.
Many think Toker was the MVP but the true MVP was Wakkey, dude 1vs2 even 1vs3 vs oRNG and TCG? will anybody in this forum would able to do the 5% of what wakkey did? I don’t think so, props to him.

Chaith and Toker were splendid, I was expecting to Toker to play this well he always does but he played even better, he did what every SA thief needs to do playing the support role instead of the burst role, going for resses, disengage allies, DECAPS, and if you have enough time then plus fights.

Warrior is fine but not viable in competitive pvp atm.

Even with a good support you need to be an excellent warrior to do the 20% of what thieves or mesmers do… sadly.
