S/D is perfectly fine.
Other things are not fine. We’ve gotta stop always looking to go up, this game absolutely does not need more power creep. S/D does decently, but it gets way overshadowed by SA d/p. D/P SA is also notably lame. Tone it down (in terms of SA, sorry to those who enjoy being lame) and tone down eles and still a few more traits on Mesmers and reassess.
On my Necro I actually have a hard time with SD than DP of not for DP having a get out of jail free card whenever they wanted. They’re also 10x more enjoyable to fight. Don’t ruin that by trying to outmatch your cheese spec, and other obviously over the top specs, friends.

I agree that it needs some tweaks but as Acandis said, SA is the problem being to kitten cheese and making it looks weak.
root problem: SA + dp too cheese.
if they buff acro or sd it will be another “balance” change by anet, they need to tone down SA so we thieves can have another way to play atm.
It would be nice if they revert the nerf to LS to bring back the 2 boon strip tho.

lol the dps is so high after patch that I didn’t even note this.
Once again, it is dmg + CC issue, not stealth.
Secondly, just because mesmers got overbuffed doesn’t mean mechanic itself needs more nerfs.
I fought PU mes and SA thieves, i don’t see how it is any worse than what ele/wars/engis/wars can pull off, really.

How is stealth stacking a passive gameplay? You actively have to use resources to gain/maintain stealth; you also lose point while at it. Also, stealth doesn’t garantee you can hit the enemy. You might actually die while trying to get in position for burst.
Stealth =/= invincibility.
You can’t reapply stealth just easily, there is thing like revealed in this game or are you telling me you just sit here doing nothing and wait untill revealed runs out or don’t bother interrupting any spells that grant stealth?How can you even say doesn’t matter? Did you even try to play a class that relies on stealth vs any decent team? Please go make a thief and play vs decent team w/o using stealth. Tell me how it went. I would LOOOOVVVVEEE video of that.

The main point is stealth is too rewarding and also too strong combined with the dps and sustain that we have atm.
Have you seen any lastest esl? or actually going in ranked and fight vs sa thieves pu mesmers?
What they do? stealth hit, repeat, got them? no problem vamp activated! stealth again hit, repeat, wow I’m still alive and he’s low again I’ll try cath him, wow he goes stealth again and he leaves, k my team needs me in mid im going! home gets decapped wow stealth is such a great mechanic.
K I’ll admit that wouldnt be passive play but lets be honest, in that rotation is there any skill involved? at all? nope, and combined this + high burst + good survavility + extremely good position is not fair.

You decided between perma stealth or a kittenton of teleports/evades. Seems like its the same thing to me.
I won’t argue the difference in survivability between a mesmer and a thief, but in terms of mobility, thief wins by a long shot. The DPS and CC is exactly the same (in fact, thief is still better at both than mesmer).
People are having trouble vs mesmer and I get thief isn’t where it used to be, but the last class you should have trouble with is mdsmer.
thief has higher burst than mesmer? yeah in ur dreamworld of hotjoin maybe.
Also I repeat, I don’t have any problems with mesmers actually I said they’re easier for me, dunno why you bring it up.

Yea Power Ranger is better than warrior atm IMO, people has already started to counter rampage with stealth/blind/moa whatever.
A good ranger would fit perfectly in any team instead of a warrior, the only thing you lose is the double endure pain and berserker stance which allow warriors to tank stuff for a long time.
Also people saying ranger is only rapid fire, you don’t know kitten about the class/build.

People usually underestimate power rangers because they just 22222222 and 111111 but this build is reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy FUN, it’s not OP, it’s not that strong too but it’s great and has a good synergy with the team.
You need to timing your rotation to abuse the remorseless to an extent to get always 10+ stacks of vulnerability.
Survability is also pretty good, LB 3 LB4 GS3 GS4 wolf fear and you can actually use GS3/GS4 super fast with quickdraw, quickening zephyr is really good for escapes/resses/insta burst, it got a good buff imo.
I haven’t tried this in WvW but if in pvp it’s viable then in WvW it should be really good.
Sadly this isn’t in pvp meta because you know mesmers can do this 10x better but it’s a really fun build.

Practice and skill.
qt has just returned with almost zero practice (team orientation/organization) and abjured scrims very often.
That said Abjured skill level is just higher than any NA team, their players are the best in what they play, phanta ele, toker thief, nos necro, chaith engi, wakkey ele/warrior.
With the best players and also practice you have The Abjured, an excellent team with excellent players.

The ability to run at max speed while being able to do damage in every direction is huge.
That being said, engi is probably a little weak given the current strength of many other things. In reality, there is no reason not to play an ele, a mesmer, or a thief.

Show me an ele build that can spike like a mesmer and bunker at the same time.

Sup infantrydiv, dunno about other builds but I’m having perma swiftness and fury with my power ranger build.
When I mean perma I meant literally perma I can stack like 2m swiftness and 30 sec of fury and if I got ripped I can reapply them easily.
The only problem is that I can do it only in combat but I got 1500 range sooooooo it’s really easy imo.
Rampage is fine imo it has many counters(blind,moa,condis).
However, I’d low a bit its damage(it hits so hard and unlike lich, it has strong cc and high mobility) and the ability to stomp targets, that’s all.
Competitive pvp? yes
Casual ranked/unranked? no
Power ranger is a really fun build if you start to use all your skills + the environment instead of spamming 2.
Condi Ranger is ok but it lacks of everything except bleeds(cc, support, heal, mobility, etc) a cele ele can do its job 200% better.
Taunt is annoying af.
Indeed, Necro is better post patch but it isn’t viable in competitive tier. It’s much better to have an ele or mesmer than a necro right now.
-d/f might stacking cele ele (1vs1/semi bunker)
-staff cele ele(good team support, good damage)
-bunker guardian(people really don’t realize this kitten is op)
-mantra/interrumpt mesmer(demigod)
-whatever engi build(gods)
-zerker/marauder warrior(high damage, good survivability, RAMPAGE)
-thief d/p(basically the same if you go for SA, CS is IMO a better option)
-condi bunker ranger(annoying af, harder than a rock, condis are meh and taunt is op in teamfights)
-necros(imo they’re still not good enough for the new meta, yes they’re annoying more bunker whatever you say but I don’t see them over mesmers or engis)
I think that’s all.

I will agree damage is way too high on numerous builds. I 2 shot a thief for 9k+6k with weakness on me using rampage.
