You guys are so dramatic, if you are not enjoying the game in it’s current state then simply do something else, and come back when changes are made and you think you could enjoy the game again. Complaining is not going to make Arena Net work faster.
It’s more of a “We stil care about the game and want it to succeed”. If there’s no complaining A-Net would have no information what ppl think about the game. And as I can see A-Net read lots of posts and had adjusted changes and priorities on their list. From my point of view it’s not always constructive, but it’s still useful for the devs.
Could the devs make a topic about these changes under Announcements/News?
This way ppl who aren’t reading all the threads here, would see them on one click. There are lots of other comments in other topics as well, where you announced changes.
As in the dev tracker also other statements can be found about closing threads and other stuff of that nature, it’s really hard to get the information.
Best regards
will try this out for sure. I think I will change the warhorn for shield, to avoid some burst and take endure pain over stability. Gives a bit more surivability. Overall a nice idea to go with, and something different to all the GS-burst builds.

That’s a psychological fact, Pve Players are friendlier than PvP ones. You will face this issue in every game. That’s mabye some sort of “surviving of the fittest-thing”. where in PvE you killing NPC’s and Real-players help you, in PvP Real-players are fighting each other. While in PvE flaming the NPC won’t work, in PvP flaming another player for being lame etc. is the sort of communication.
How can they know what requires changes if they only test class-balances on isolated testing-servers? What they could do is to work together with some top-players from TP/Crs/CN/PZ etc. There you have input from players that know what is going on in the meta and how to counter these problems.

Don’t blame the dueling ppl, when they have no space to test builds and stuff.
For many ppl it’s a big issue to achieve something and get rewarded for it. That’s why 99% of the old top-players from HA and GvG left this game. Where in GW1, rank-emotes and gold-capes were something special, here there’s everything accessable for every player.
only issue i have is with knockdowns and stunbreaker. I have to wait for the knockdown animation to end before i use my stunbreaker, otherwise it won´t work.
I dont understand why doesnt it work instantly, if you press it right after you are knocked down it goes on CD but doesnt help you.
To clear this up: While using a stun-breaker you need to be on ground to trigger it.
For e.g. if you get blowed-out because of ool-bomb or updraft and you press the stun-breaker while you are still in the air, the stun breaker won’t work. So you need to wait till you fall on the ground and then you can activate it.
Calling WvW the real PvP… I appreciate your troll there
Seems like you never played competitive tPvP. This won’t work.
It’s not working because you get more rank-points in hot-join then in tournaments. So the real pvp-players are below the rank of a no-life hotjoin farmer. This makes not any sense to me and results in the fact that rank is meaningless in this game.
kittened up from the beginning.
It’s no secret. These things should be allrdy implemented from the release. But now if you look at all the content they need to add and in knowledge that the pvp-team of a-net compared to the pve one, is like comparing a mouse to an elephant tells me, that all these things will take too much time. Sadly that ppl won’t wait till 2014.
appreciate the new rotation and the better rewars on 3-round tournaments. Yesterday there was a significant increase of teams that were playing tournaments.
Two reasons: The ratings were resetted on 26th of february and there are not enough players queing up. So the chance is high you will get good players or even premades. During prime-time there’s a lower chance, but during the day there’s a high chance that you will face the same group several times.
If you’re goal is to play a full-bunker then the following weapon-sets are pretty good:
sword-shield, mace-focus.
Mabye this explanation from Danto can bring you forward. It’s pretty good explained and is for a start a good build to run with.

Hope it helps
If you use it in knowledge and abusing it on purpose, then ye. But if it happens on surprise and let’s say your thunderclap has no cooldown, you would stop pressing it to get stomped? Mabye a dev could clear this up.
PvE wise Guildwars 2 has so much things you can do. The story is fresh, dungeons and fractals forcing teamwork. Forging and creating armor/weapons with collected goods are interesting and rewarding. The whole world looks great and has lot of love given to details. All the live-events that are popping up gives lot of variotion to it.
PvP wise it’s seperated into WvW and sPvP. Where WvW is really innovative and involves players to stand out as a server-community. Sadly sPvP is not that popular. The good thing here is that the combat-style gives a lot of potential, so this is a matter of time till it will be successfull.
How can you forget about all the bugs out there since release, while ppl constantly post it on forums? The problem is that 2 ppl can’t fix these countless bugs in a week or so. You should hiring more ppl or outsourcing it, till the game can be played flawless.
Sorry to say that but the strategy to save money in the starting phase of a game is never going to outpay.
Looks like a bug that appeared.. Reporting someone for a games-fault, isn’t going to work. You mean he hacked some of A-Nets scripts about TC and changed it? Seems legit.
Many people would like to have this sort of tournaments. There were many topics and posts about this earlier in the forum. With a good rewarding system, definitely something that could work out. But before we need the required playerbase and some more competitive guilds/teams to make it popular.
I think they won’t just put names from 1 to 100 down on a list without any indicator. That would make absolutely no sense. Same for QP list. Mabye you follow the forum a bit better.
And for you, as a pvp-progamer: It allrdy exists a rating for players, which is based on win/loss ratio. So for you, this ratio or whatever A-Net is using to calculate the individual rating is not existing and can’t be shown in a form of a number??? Are you serious? Today must be really troll day.
A date is not mentioned as you can read (obviously a troll here). But they called it to be on top of their priority list. And now pls tell me why a leaderboard is not visible for you?
Today must be troll day in the forums…god

Dunno why they don’t post this here in the forums, where ppl can see it.
If I’m not false you pointed out the classes in 1v1 situations. That’s just my impression. In the most cases I feel a bit the same way. But you should also consider what all the classes can do in teamfights.
Guardian: Allrdy said is a support. Besides that it’s the best revive class if specced as bunker at least. In 3v3+ a needful matchwinner.
Elementalist: Nothing to add.
Engineer: Not much build-variety there. High dps output and a big pressure in teamfights. Highrange acces through grenades. (got popular in spirit watch) Uncountable bugs with this class.
Mesmer: With Portal and Timewarp a strong class. Effective in teamfights due to stuns, immobillizes, fast aoe bursts and again Timewarp. Good in defending nodes due to portal mobility. Squishy.
Necromancer: Heavy teamfighter, with marks and aoe-rezz. If not distracted by others he is dominating node-fights. Due to plague and deathshroud able to survive. Lacks of mobility.
Ranger: Good in 1v1 fights due to constant pressure and ranged attacks. No AoE dmg makes ranger not a dedicated teamfighter. Good for speed-stomps. Pet that follows the enemy through half of the map and makes some pretty good dmg.
Thief: Best burst. In 1v1 pretty useless if not able to surprise insta-kill. Has hard times in tpvp due to the bunker meta. Addicted to stealth, otherwise an easy target that drops in seconds. In teamfights hard to play due to AoE..
Warrior: A good teamfighter with GS. Can’t be left allone because he will loose every 1v1. Not enough condition remove. High dmg output if able to hit. Other builds than 100b not existing.
Please don’t argue with sarcasm.
I think after 7 days with spirit watch, everyday, for many ppl the 3-round tournament got interesting again. Even when the reward is zero.
In a 1v1 strong for sure. I mean which build can outlast a flame-pet and a full-dmg build with arcane wave. (excluding full-bunker-builds). But overall it’s definitely a bad choice.
Actually I wasn’t reading properly, my fault here. But even gc-eles are strong on 1v1. Saying they’re not, is a lack of knowledge.
Back to the topic I wonder why a single player should be able to kill a bunker? A bunker can’t kill you, so why you should be able to kill him? It would be a issue if a bunker could outlast a 1v2. Not the case…
Another post without any sense. And as a d/d ele (king of 1v1) write this another reason it is a troll post
.
And a good bunker never drops against a ranger. Even when it’s really hard to outstand, he shouldn’t drop
I like your idea to give some more variety into node-defending (because atm it’s almost only mesmers with portals on the outter nodes). The thing is, A-Net has PvP-wise so much other important stuff to do and I don’t think they have time for things like that.
So I would come up with this idea in about half a year.
Am i the only person that wants GvG (best PvP ever played in my life was GvG in GW1).
HA was good too, but GvG allways gave me a good feeling. Even if we got roflstomped. It was just fun.
As I read somewhere in the forums, A-Net has made allready some thoughts about it. Things like how to scale the lords life etc.
But for now, what would you think of a automated tournament where only guilds can sign in? (sure a guild-ladder is required for that) Would this come near to your image of GvG in GW2?
Q: How would clones/phantasms react to a wall in the middle of a node? They can’t jump so you basically take the mesmer out to be a node-defender/make him useless on the node.
There are some reasons A-Net did make nodes flat. (doesn’t mean I wouldn’t appreciate some fancy stuff)
The problem is more like during the day we have no other continents to fill up the work-time space. That’s because NA and EU is seperated. And a level down you have 30 different servers, where ppl are spreaded and can’t chat with each other. If you would have one big server this would never happen.
It was never a problem three months ago. Frees would pop 8-a.m. to 2-a.m instantly. Now they can’t even pop during prime time.
Seriously, the game is dying. I want to queue for 8 man tourneys. I can’t because they won’t pop.
Wait for the announced patch. As I heard and as the dev in this thread said, they working on things and I think they work on absolutely the right things.
And as I heard from many pvp-guilds/players, they make a break till the patch will come out. This could be the problem that at the moment this game is emtier then before.

The balance overall is pretty good (besides tons of bugs). I think balancing the game is not first priority. A-Net needs to rework the reward system, some new mods and ladders to be able to achieve something.
A thief without stealth would be like a worse warrior: Never ever played. It’s allrdy hard for thieves in tPvP with all this unkillable bunkers. It’s pretty difficult to know when the right time is to pop out of stealth and press your combo.
The gold-chest from 8-team tournament drops gear from free tournament tokens.
The Match-chest from 1v1 tournament drops gear from paid tournament tokens.

Welcome to the endless list of bugs and not working-things
I played over 2000 games with warrior. So don’t tell me something about warrior. I tried every single weapon combination. The only thing besides GS that makes sense is probably the bow for aoe. Just go observe some top warriors like Fredz and you will see what I mean.
As your post is saying: There are not many viable builds. e.g. necro with staff and scepter/dagger is the only thing I’ve ever seen in tPvP. Same for 100b, sure you can change your other wep-set, but you never miss GS. Last one: Saying a staff ele is viable tells me you don’t play much tpvp. That’s for WvW.
They have tons of good advices from us, but they better create a new map. I think everything said.
To summarize your topic: Automated Tourmanets we know from GW1. Good thing they could do, but as all points listed in this forum: never implemented (or mabye in 2 years).
It’s better to not ask
Mabye you should read the reactions of the january/february patch. Then you would know.
Solo Q is needed atm. And for guildless, not hardcore players it’s a good idea. But if PvP in this game would be near a complete state and not in this Alpha-state, where A-net has to remove tickets and don’t know how to handle QP’s, it would never appear.
There are some “OP” builds, let’s call them “viable”. for example: One of them is the 0/X/X/30/30 ele! But it would be really helpfull for me if you could be concrete, on which classes you have problems or how you died and which class you play on your own.
Actually there’s no motivation to rank up. Mabye till 40. Also reaching the top is dedicated for hardcore players, not the casual ones. That’s in every game the case. The motivation is in the big playerbase. After the release that was the case. Guilds were dominating tournaments. Not solo quers. There was a good competition. But after half a year and the same mode, ppl left and guilds disbanded. And now this game is played by solo quers and 4-5 guild-teams.
It would be nice to know, which class you are playing and what build/traits you are using. Because if you set things right you have allrdy half the work done. Second thing is experience with your own class (how good you play, when activating which skill etc.) and third you need to know some common builds (bs-thief, shatter-mesmer, 100b warrior etc.) and learn some class-mechanics from other proffessions. This prevent being surprised by combos and skills you don’t know.
A solo que won’t bring “back” ppl. It just bring “new” players. At the moment it’s not possible to split up premades / solo kittens 100%, because there’s not enough crowd for it. So this would result in longer waiting times.
So what I see in Solo Q is just a desperate try to delay the death of the pvp-playerbase.
The only positive thing is to deliver something to ppl that have not enough time to play with a guild.
But if you look back: GW2 had lot of ppl playing in the first months. The problem ppl left is not a missing solo Q. It’s the lack of a complete PvP.
+1
This should be the plan of 2013 for A-Nets PvP-Team. I mean the community bring up so much things with much potential. Just pick some ideas up and implement them. I don’t know why you are breaking your legs with new patches, when everything is allrdy said and explained. Start to profit!
Everything said. The tricky thing stays on the shatter mesmer (the most common build played). And there you just need to dodge when the first clone jumps on you. Also good is to know all the cool-downs for this combo. (e.g. 10 secs on F1). Helps alot to know when bursts coming again.
