I miss real open world pvp too, going someplace to pvp is not open world pvp
No one promised that on GW2. Quite the opposite actually.
@Blueprint
Wait until you are level 70. Orr is all about bugs.
I think part of the problem is that the event chains in Orr either bug out, or never start because people defend. (never lose Arah and you never again fight the wizard king)
This means there are only 3-4 events that pop on a regular basis, the defend events. These events also feature massive waves of mobs.
Due to the above factors, it’s very easy to get hit by the anti farm code in Orr and see both karma and loot drop to nothing. Leap and Straits have the same issues.
Other zones like Frostgorge are not really alternatives, as they’re heart based and have much more infrequent events.
Since Orr has no hearts, you should be able to always be doing an event without penalty.
I don’t think that’s the issue. The issue is that everyone wants to stay in Penitent Way because it is easy to farm.
Would be nice if they were account bound instead.
Does anyone even buy dye kits from the store? The issue is that dyes being account bound would drop their prices to 1c due to lack of demand. Might as well make all dyes available for free to everyone.
Isn’t there a LFG system in the game already? I saw something along those lines yesterday.
Actually sorry to tell you this but as a practicing swordsman I happen to know. the proper way to fight with two weapons at once is by striking with both at the same time. People who hold their off-hand weapon “In reserve” are fools who don’t know what a shield is.
Have fun slicing your hand off.
Carrier Quaggans.
Have fun with your pandas.
Goldsellers and bots arnt realy bad for the game(-business).
Each time a Goldseller or bot get banned, they most likey buy a new account and Arena.net makes few more coins.
And while ther are many goldsellers/bots, its a good sign that the game is good/ have many players.
So if you like GW2, than be happy that ther are Goldsellers wich you can report, and make Arena.net earn a bit more money while you dont have to pay a monthly fee.
On this way you can support this game without investing own moneyJust try to look it from this side, and you will report futher Goldsellers with a smile in the face
You really are delusional. It is very much common sense that they are using hacked accounts for this.
even the lack of a player to player trade mechanic is telling enough.
For the hundredth time, it is a design choice.
You can always “/me blows Character a kiss.”
When you log out, they could delete your progress in that quest, so delete items you dropped. .
Why in the world would they do that?
“Look! I just found an exotic!”
“-New build is available. Server reset to happen in 1 minute-”
:|
Maybe they don’t want you to have 500k karma in a day?
Unlikely to happen. Blowing a kiss maybe, but actual kissing and hugging has too many animation obstacles to overcome to be viable. Not to mention you’re doing it to someone, not all by yourself.
I think they should make quests repeatable either way, like missions in GW.
There are other hoods. Order of whispers armor and a few others come to mind.
I’m a bit confused. Dungeons aren’t fun in their current state, not only because they are tad on the rough side; but because they lack reward for their difficulty… but that’s not what I’m confused about.
I’m confused as to the thinking. I thought the idea of GW2 was to do away with the “holy trinity” and FoTM cheese builds. If I am reading what he is saying correctly, then he wants the players to discover “cheese builds” and try to flesh out the “holy trinity” again… as that’s what we had to do in GW1 DoA.
/confused
No, he wants people to learn how to play and try again.
I am relieved to read that. Good thing they have experienced this before.
No.
Pretty much this.
The damage shown is the TOTAL damage of all of the hits used by the skill.
cool, but that’s too much work to put in the game right now, if it ever got added it would be in an expansion
They already said they’re adding new content and not just in expansions.
Yes, please. I don’t care about the possible clipping issues, people can just hide it if it happens.

I feel your pain, but unfortunately I find it very unlikely for them to add in options to improve these little things for every single issue people may have out there.
Some NPCs use whips, and you can actually get a whip for certain events. We’re halfway there already.
I support this.
Quite sure this is happening to everyone.
God, yes. Some skill points/events have been bugged for too long.
No matter how much strategy they throw into it, when you get 20 people on the same foe, it will become a mindless zergfest with no tactics.
I wouldn’t suggest adding a death penalty at all, because that would actually encourage zergplay as people would prefer to progress safely in the game. I wouldn’t consider the death penalty as having anything to do with games being dumbed down though.
I think we really should just be patient and wait for the populace to spread out. Unfortunately, given how scaling works, I think pretty much everyone will be crowding in Orr. Scaling down should be rewarding and challenging too. We can’t be limited to the few end zones.
why do characters playing melee build have same number of dodges as ranged?
Posted by: Eochaidh.4106
You can get extra dodges by making a build focused on endurance and vigor. Moreover, hammer has a ridiculous amount of CC/Interrupts to keep you from being attacked, and greatsword has pretty nice mobility (including skill 3 which makes you evade attacks).
I want it account bounded too. That would be great. So much people want this. Please, arena net.
Or at least make a poll about it, that we can vote. The community should decide it, right?
It doesn’t work like that. This is a business, not a Democracy. :P
Adapt to the game, do not expect the game to adapt to you. This is especially true when it comes to making money.
I agree. I think we have more than enough long coats.
@Freyar
Heartseeker is clearly not supposed to be a main attack skill, but something more situational to use when the foe has less than half of full HP.
I don’t know what to tell OP though. Maybe we could see some improvements on the “3” skill instead.
Well, they’re purposeless drones with little intelligence. It really just feels like filler fights between you and the boss because they really are just that.
I have to agree somewhat. I don’t see such matches lasting two weeks as being fun. There is little hope for my server to overcome the new higher group we’ve been thrown into. We’re basically stuck in a losing situation for two weeks. It’s too much time to wait when it comes to a game, in my opinion.
So you wanted a gear treadmill, even though ArenaNet said there wouldn’t be one in this game. So why did you buy this game?
There already is a gear treadmill, assuming you have a preference for a particular piece of gear in a dungeon. You go from what piece you have, to grinding for one you want.
The fact there are no stats doesn’t make it any less grind-y or superficial.
Honestly, I expected to at least enjoy the process of acquiring new skins – not being forced to repeat an arduous processes without some sort of reassurance. As well, I like how the automated response seems to be insinuating I’m desiring “moar stats” or a tier-like system of armor upgrades.
Way to jump to conclusions.
The arduous system to acquire skins is there to please achievement-oriented gamers.
In Guild Wars 2, there’s so much random AoE, and a complete lack of healers, that you could be the Rank 1 SPvP team without even using voice chat
That has got to be the most idiotic statement I’ve read all day. Why don’t you go prove it? Go beat the top PvP guilds in tournament.
Zerg Wars is better name for this game. Spvp all you do is zerg, zerg, and zerg some more.
In hot join PUGs, yes, in tournaments no.
WvW all you do is zerg, zerg, and zerg some more.
Not quite. If you mindlessly advance with just numbers, you’ll die to artillery.
Dungeons all you do on bosses and some trash pulls is zerg, zerg, and zerg some more.
Uh…what?
Removing the Holy Trinity has created voids that are being filled with zergs…
I suppose you don’t understand the meaning of “zerg”.
If you’ve found a way to run the content other than as intended – that’s an exploit. Report it as such, or get reported for doing it.
Either they will fix it, or you will get banned – or both.
Who is to say it’s not intended? Speedrunning without abusing bugs is exploiting now? How in the world is anyone supposed to get dungeon armors?
so whats the harm in reporting it then? if its possibly intended?
When did I say there was any harm? I don’t really care if you report everyone you see (although, you should be aware it’s a bannable offence). I’m criticizing the nonsensical witch hunting attitude to people who enjoy playing differently than you.
Penitent is actually an event, it’s just easier to farm (and bot) in.

I am a warrior and I have no issues with this. My 15k damage hubdred blades is well worth any risks.
Uh? Let’s kill all money-making methods, they’re all exploits.
Dungeons were meant to be GROUP events not solo speed running fiascos like GW1 had.
How are people soloing it?
Uh? Let’s kill all money-making methods, they’re all exploits.
Don’t seem to work. I used them today and my guild got no influence. Anyone else had this issue?
@ZuderGambeous
I got to 400 armorsmithing with no grind, just by using mats I earned on the eay to 80. And then, of course, you could sell those for some quite reasonable gold as well.
By the time you are level 80, odds are that you have some 40k karma as well, which should allow you to get an exotic piece.
And again 100 dungeon runs for a set is bull. You don’t need that many.
High level zones probably empty because not everyone is 80 yet…
There are easily 50 people on the penitent way waypoints on Cursed Shore right now in my server. They’re far from empty.
^Guild Wars is pretty much an online single player game. You can’t compare. Grouping is always possible in this game, but you really can’t achieve everything solo, and there is nothing wrong with that.
The problem is Anet has blatantly stated it’s going after WoW, therefor it is fair imo to compare the two games.
