They have started to flag videos so you can’t earn money on them , So people that are making a living out of posting youtube videos won’t get any food on their tables .
People who make quality videos are just fine. It’s people who just record game content without adding anything to it that they’re really cracking down on.
Also, I’d prefer if GW2 didn’t become an e-sport, thanks.
Are you sure? From what I’ve read, some channels such as woodenpotatoes are at jeopardy because of this policy, since it is monetized.
Okay, I’ve just further read into the matter, and yes, apparently this is bigger than I thought. I hope Arenanet realizes that this is a mistake that has the potential to completely crush their popularity among a large group of players.
All male, 5 Human one Charr.
While I think that we could use a lot more skills and a generally more interesting combat system, I don’t agree with some of the things you have said.
First, melee is not underpowered. The potential damage for melee is ridiculously larger than ranged. There are more risks, but more rewards as well. In the end, everyone can switch to melee/ranged as they see fit. And traits are ridiculously superior to GW’s stat system, sorry, I don’t think we can even compare.
Why is it still heavily CPU-bound?
Well, if that’s really that necessary to build an e-sport community, it is time for them to re-evaluate their intentions with what is planned for sPvP.

Maybe they’ll get an actual job now.
99% of people who make videos or stream don’t make a penny off of it… just sayin
Well, I am replying to the point that people will somehow die of hunger because of this.
Just to clarify – just the money-making users are being flagged for this? I don’t see the issue if that’s the case. It’s within Arenanet’s right to do so. You can definitely post your e-sport videos without profiting on them.

You have fun against Dragonbrand next week.
Attention kittens.
There you go.
There are plenty of videos on Youtube. I’m not sure to what extent the terms oppose this, but just because it is there, it doesn’t mean it will be cracked down upon.
Felines. I thought it was pretty clear, or maybe I’m just used to it.
@Mougen
Not always the case. Sometimes those traits are just arbitrarily thrown into a line that has nothing to do with the weapon. And in fact, it is a bit like saying swords are meant to be used this way, and bows that way.
Thankfully I chose the Quaggan path. Lots of coo, and I met Shashoo and all of the others.
This is a guild, not a relationship. I don’t want to have to worry about drama and betrayal to enjoy the game with a couple of different friends.
Edit: Why was the OP infracted by the way? :P

I hope some sort of gala outfit comes out soon. My human noble looks too much like a commoner in the regular set.
Wait, what!? My commoner looks too noble on the regular set.
It fits my character’s personality better to join the Ascalonian rebels. Unfortunately hero is the only way to go.
You could always just run and get them stuck on somebody else, right? Or you could just kill them, it takes what, like 30 seconds?
Sometimes it’s an unkillable pack of veterans.
Could you not interact with the chest?
“I don’t think these exist, and if they do, they don’t stand in the center of Lion’s Arch going “Safe and fast GW2 Gold! Hand-leveling power farming! Safe and fast you trust me!” and various other things in broken English.”
I don’t know about GW2, but these do exist in many other games. It’s usually people with low income who get into gold farming jobs to sell those.
Basically as with all MMo’s, the OP is upset because botting happens in the first few weeks.
Did you read thread? This is not just about the bots, but also insane cheating in the game.
It takes a while to separate the botting code lines from the genuine players, and companies do not take action until they are sure they are taking out the right people.
Yeah, because teleporting around and telepathically killing stuff is very discreet.
You have to try to understand that botting is a constantly evolving process, always being just the right side of the detections.
Oh, please. This is some obvious packet editing. They are not trying to be discreet. Most games don’t give the client that amount of control to begin with and automatically block such absurd anomalous behavior. If this sort of stuff is possible, I can’t een picture when the duping exploits will show up.
Imagine how the code looks for people killing over 500 monsters in one day, and over a specific area. What about the genuine players farming for specific materials in the same area?
Normal players don’t cross huge maps in a blink.
I wonder what they get from it because as soon as enough players report them, their whole accounts will be permanently banned.
Apparently not. Some bots have been around for ages unbanned.
I’ve never heard of this, nor seen it happen while playing. Could you perhaps post a link to a video? And I don’t want to see a beta video, if it’s happening now then I’d like to see a video of it happening recently. Until then I kinda have to go with it’s not happening.

@rom
I don’t think it is unfriendly, they are just being professional. Not all answers are the same.
I don’t understand, how are they “teleporting” from one mob to another?
They disappear from a spot and appear on another apparently while jumping and land in the new location. They cross huge distances that way. Then they attack with melee from absurd ranges.
Yep, it’s becoming a cheater’s paradise. You’d think developers had listened to us when videos of such cheats were shown in the beta forums.
Would be entertaining if this thread was closed with the same message.
Login backgrounds? I think you’re alone there.
The design (apparently) is that you must farm slowly and calmly over a long period of time (not all at once) to obtain the pieces. For example, doing it once a day over a month.
The guild system works perfectly fine. I don’t see the issue you’re talking about. I thought this would be a rant about random people clearing guild stashes (which happens often, apparently).
No. Its not the best mmo on the market. That title is still reserved for WoW. Before you bash me, no, i have not played WoW for many years now. But you cannot deny the level of content and polish WoW has.
That said, IF Anet can get their kittens together. Then this game definitely has the POTENTIAL to be the best MMO on the market.
WoW the best? Seriously? Is being popular the same as being the best now?
Usually people miss the Chantry PoI, as it doesn’t show on the map, but it could be anywhere else if you didn’t pay attention.
we are not saying “forcing players”.
but merely, ENCOURAGING social aspects.
ex: in a DE, there could be a leader, and that leader alone can type and it will appear on top of everybody screen. leader could be selected by having more total karma aquired so far, or whatever else.
without definite “LEADERS” that can “CLEARLY” get their msg to the team.
itll be chaotic.
There is barely anything like that given that most DEs are easy and lack strategy. The closest thing you’ll get to a leader is a bunch of random people yelling for you to fight the Shades when fighting Risen Grenth Acolyte.
Seriously, people, stop confusing antisocial with asocial.
Well, given that the shortbow provided a better dps AND condition damage than the longbow, I wouldn’t be surprised.
The zooming out is insane for me.
“Stealthed characters would be obfuscated, not invisible, similar to how stealthed mobs and NPCs refract light but they can still be seen. Making it so that perceptive players can still pick out a Thief who is actively moving around or standing out in the open. This makes this more of a PvE centric ability, though it still has application as a scouting ability in WvW.”
This opens the potential for graphic mod/packet reading hacks to detect the player’s location clearly. A system that makes the player completely vanish from the enemy screen is preferred in my opinion.
Long stealth is not what Arenanet has in mind for thief though.
You don’t farm gold at level 34.
I understand your issue, and I agree, but for this game, hiding HP bars would be impractical, as there really is no way to know when an enemy really is close to falling without it. Your foes aren’t visibly hurt and they don’t show visual signs that they are weak as far as I am concerned.
These things are some classic tabletop relics that, even with possible alternatives on the table, persist on MMORPGs. People just are too used to numbers and some will even turn hostile if you attempt to take their numbers away from them.

Bloody drama over some dungeon. Unbelievable.
One person enjoying the game or 500 people who don’t. According to my supercomputer which I use to do complex math the 500 people seems to be more than the 1 who said they enjoy themselves.
Because Citadel of Flames is the whole game.
@Cheezycookie
Exactly what I am wondering.
Switching servers does solve the issue. The reason for which everyone is clustered in the same servers is a mystery for me.
Week-long WvW matches just won’t work. We’ve already seen from our daily experiences that it boils down to that half of the time.
Yeah, noticed a few people botting in blazeridge steppes the past few days (tarnished coast) I heard a couple of guys got banned for it, but theres still one, this rifle warrior thats always hanging around steeleye. I and possibly other people have been reporting her but she is still there.
It’s sad to see the same person always there. I’ve already stumbled on a botting guy from the [HOT] “Heart of the Tyria” guild quite a few times on Tarnished Coast too.
There’s always a couple farming penitent way on Cursed Shore.
I’m dying, dumb the game down please.
