Using up an entire trait just to get this 100% increase in invis duration is reasonable I feel.
It essentially gives mesmers a defensive and offensive utility tool to use.
Thieves have always been the bane of mesmers precisely because they can stealth longer and they thus have the initiative to burst a mesmer from stealth.
In the end a mesmer can only play defensively against a thieve.
However, now with the increase in invis uptime, a mesmer can remain in stealth for longer than any other classes including thieves and thus the initiative to attack is now with the mesmer.
Which I think is reasonable since you are using an entire traitline just to get this initiative.
The only OP thing might be that a mesmer can chain invis and remain in stealth way longer than a thief might be able to and thus it is much harder for other classes to predict when to dodge in anticipation of a mesmer burst from stealth.
Against a thief, generally you see them go invis and chances are within 3-4 seconds you should dodge. against a mesmer now, they could camp in stealth indefnitely and freely choose when to burst you while in stealth and there is very little counterplay for other classes unless its an engineer with lock on.
That said, to gain this initiative to choose when to burst from a very long duration of stealth by spending an entire traitline is reasonable IMO, even if an opponent will find it almost impossible to guess when the burst is going to come unlike facing thieves in general.

We have dueling rooms called king of the hill where players are supposed to fight using tpvp roaming builds.
There are rules enforced by the room admins to avoid tanky classes but sometimes you still see builds tailored exclusively for dueling, it’s kinda against the point of playing a realistic duel but w/e, at least it’s helpful to learn more about mechanics and stuff.

The change to scepter had another king crying over the game play in the past. Didn’t change anything. What is a good player? That statement can be made for any class. Player skill is just that. Also for a king his sentence and information was flawed. Ip is baseline de is not. Time will tell what is competitive and not hot join hero status.

Theres no reason to complain tbh. Good mesmers after these changes will basically become godmode, and every single build we have got buffed except clone death (Which i am glad is gone). The only problem is we didnt get DE and IP baseline to be even more OP then we already will be :P

The scenes in PvP has long been stable, with engineers and elementalists standing at the submit while necromancers and rangers made up the base.
With the coming update, PvP faces an unprecedented change.
From Strongest to Weakest:
1) Mesmers
Long oppressed by thieves and thus not being able to stake a claim on being top 3, with the base-lining of many OP traits including grandmaster ones, they are now oppressively strong, various new and enhanced builds more than capable of swatting a thief off and dealing spike damage that is able to make a grown man cry. And with them now rising above their natural predators (thieves), there is going to be no one capable of restraining a mesmer.
2) Elementalists
Having once vied for top spot with the engineers due to their incredible sustain and not slight damage, the new changes invariably strengthens their hold. They lose top spot to Mesmers though due to better mobility on a mesmer.
3) Engineers
One could still interchange engineers position with that of elementalists. Such is the closeness of both professions’ strengths that it is really hard to say who should be 2nd or 3rd. Buffed greatly in the coming update as well, they are still a force to be reckoned with.
4) Warriors
Who can replace a warriors immense support capabilities? No one truly, especially with the buff to longbow, a warrior can only get stronger. Only they are not as versatile as engineers/elementalists and thus have to contend for 4th spot.
5) Guardians
The king of boons, guardians would stand above warriors if not for the existence of boon removals. Buffs to the guardians have not been particularly eye-catching. 5th rank is about right.
6) Thieves
Poor thieves. They used to take 3rd place, the spot just behind elementalists/engineers because of their mobility and their ability to make mesmers cry. Having lost their ability to oppress mesmers, they have sunk to the lows of 6th rank. Future PvP teams would naturally replace thieves with mesmers.
7) Rangers
The base-lining of many of their longbow mechanics have made them stronger. But they are a one-trick pony and easily countered. Ranked behind thieves as thieves can still make them cry.
8) Necromancers
Last and also the least, are the necromancers. Nefarious manipulators of death literally for they are still strongest when they are in the down-state.

Adept
Shield Master: Reduces recharge on shield skills by 20%. Blocking an attack grants 1 stack of might for 8 seconds. If you block a missile attack you reflect it instead.
Master
Sundering Mace: Reduces recharge on mace weapon skills by 20%. Mace skills apply 1 stack of vulnerability for 10 seconds whenever they hit a foe that is dazed, launched, knocked down or stunned.
Grandmaster
Last Stand: Gain vigor for 6 seconds whenever you activate a stance. Stance durations last 25% longer. If you are affected by a crowd control skill cast Balanced Stance.
Discipline
Minor
Versatile Rage: Gain 5 adrenaline when you swap weapons.
Fast Hands: Reduces recharge of weapon swap by 5 seconds.
Versatile Power: Gain 2 stacks of might for 10 seconds whenever you swap weapons (combat only). Burst skill recharge is reduced by 15%.
Adept
Warrior’s Sprint: Move 25% faster while wielding melee weapons. Using a movement skill removes the immobilize condition.

yep. the mesmer community is the best that i have seen precisely because they adapt to what they are given. despite all of the bugs and drawbacks, mesmers are the most fun class to play and is the most satisfying for many of us. so we can adjust and make things work.
When the new patch hits, the only thing you guys will be adjusting to is how much faster and easier you guys will face-roll all the other classes.

thematically it makes no sense for ele’s fire trait to be stronger than necro’s dhummfire.
ele’s trait is also only a ADEPT while dhuumfire on necro is a GRANDMASTER!
dhummfire is the god of death’s fire!
it should be stronger especially on a GM trait. it only applies like 1 stack of bleeding per shroud 1 which is incredibly slow???

idk why you guys react so badly to my post. I already posted elsewhere that I am sorry for all my posts asking for thieves to be nerfed.
warhorn also has its uses like using it to call for allies to help fight or use it as a warning signal.
a thief is essentially a scout and it will be good to relay info back to his allies easily and quickly

With the explanations, I believe we all agree that necros are in a very good spot.
even the corruption skills, self inflicted condis I always knew was meant for us to utilize as weapons and transfer it to the enemy. so they are actually good if you spec for transfers. If you don’t spec for transfers in your build, then dont use corruption.

I want to tell you necros:
You guys need to L2P = learn to play.
I was crying in every thread myself over how OP thieves and mesmers and LB rangers are not too long ago.
But then I started to learn to play and realized that necros are already very strong and can hold their own against any class.
Sure, we get some drawbacks here and there, but learn to do the right things, minimize the wrong things, and your chances of winning a fight improves drastically.
A few days ago I downed a dragon finisher d/d + sb thief with my necro in WvW. I did it in a few exchanges of moves.
We traded a couple of hits, him using sb 3 and me using scepter 1 then he went invis. I counted 1.5 seconds and dodged. shortly after I saw a miss sign appearing. I immediately dodged again and saw another miss sign.
My double dodge made him blow 2 of his engage and his stealth ended without landing a hit on me.
I immediately entered shroud and shroud 3 him followed by shroud 5, left shroud and landed a few scepter 1s on him.
He got binded by my shroud 5 and I immediately swapped to staff and casted staff 5 on him. But I missed because he used his rollback heal skill.
I forgot how the rest of the fight went, but it ended very quickly and I won without breaking a sweat.
All I can say is, learn to play and you will not need to complain about this trait bad or that skill bad or this class more OP than necro or that build leaves necro helpless.
