@ kraljevo
oh yes…that is totally a condi-wrecking build…I don’t think any full condi build is going to stand any chance against such an elementalist…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
sure necros can remove condi easy
but
what if i don’t let them do it so easily?
after my immobilize, i follow up with a shield stun so they need to stun break first.
then after they break stun, they still need to clear condi. but i would have already started my hundred blades and followed with a fear which means they need to stun break again.
which means they eat my full hundred blades and die.
muahahahahahhaha
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
This is the necro-wrecking build that I have in mind. What do you guys think?
Depending on sword to cripple and immobilize + burst to immobilize, + shield stun, switch to greatsword to hundred blade + fear shout + frenzy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
actually i love shrouded removal.
i rather it remove the last applied condi so I can actually use my shroud as an instant on demand condi cleanser!
I have cleansed ranger elite roots that way, D/P thief’s blind that way, warrior’s immobilize that way, thief’s fear that way, etc. etc. etc.
on-demand condi cleanser at my choice is totally awesome.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
You’re in luck! hahahaha.
I present to you my hybrid build that I have honed to perfection for WvW solo roam.
Firstly, I qualify the term perfection: perfection meaning you have a decent chance of beating any other builds out there, some builds you may start off somewhat at a disadvantage against, other builds you start off somewhat with an advantage. BUT YOU WILL NOT FIND YOURSELF TOTALLY HELPLESS AGAINST ANY BUILD OUT THERE. So it comes down to skill, and not so much build because my build gives you pretty close to 50-50 chance against any other builds! (or at least those that I have encountered lol)
Some tips, 1vs1 duels are very much about mind games. And needlessly to say, unless you fight the same opponent over and over again and learn his pattern, every engagement will be quite different and it boils down to experience to tide you through!
If your opponent a thief, dodges, should you follow up with a heavy skill straight after? Or will your opponent do a double dodge? or double dodge with evade? If he is in invis, will he try to engage you nearing the end of his invis? Do you do a random dodge to anticipate his engagement? or will the thief just hang at the edge and wait for you to waste your dodge/skills?
If your opponent is a warrior, he comes near you with a hammer, do you dodge in anticipation of his quick hammer stun twirl? or will the warrior wait for you to random dodge and waste it before he does the stun?
If your opponent is a LB ranger, you can tell his knockback animation which is a white twirl around his bow when casting and you can dodge it. But what if he, waiting for you to expend your dodge (which a lot of ppl do, they random dodge without seeing the animation because they don’t know the animation) and you don’t dodge, and he enters invis. Do you then do a random dodge in anticipation of his knockback since now he is invis and you can’t see him?
Of course, you can bait out moves from your opponent. Easiest way is to heal then dodge shortly after, before your heal is complete. To cancel the heal and to dodge what a good opponent will potentially do to disrupt your heal. Or signet of spite, then stow weapon and force a dodge or evade from your opponent.
You’re not going to always win, and you’re not going to always lose. but you will not run into an enemy build that you have zero chance of winning against assuming you are equally skilled. That I assure you!
Another tip, a lot of warriors for some reason are running Rampage elite when roaming. When they enter rampage mode, enter your elite plague form. Totally counters them and leaves them helpless…^^
Another tip, some thieves when they go invis, they are not aggressive and wait at the edge for you to do random dodges or waste some aoe skills or waste your deathshroud. They only go totally aggressive the moment you leave your DS and your DS is on cooldown. That is when you are most vulnerable especially if you are on your scepter and your weapon swap is on CD. Don’t waste your dodges by random dodging, dont waste your aoe dagger skills, don’t waste your DS. Switch to staff if you can and lay staff 2 or 3 down on you. Then run around in small circles and watch and react. If you can’t use staff and they go totally aggressive on you with your DS on cooldown, dont be afraid to enter elite plague form and force them off you because some of those thieves, when they go totally aggressive when your DS is down, can really really hurt you. Bait their fear with heal+evade.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
yes tested. by last applied i mean the most recently applied condition just before you enter shroud removal.
eg. if you get hit by in this order: immobilize then blind then fear, you enter shroud and it removes fear.
eg. if you get hit by in this order: immobilize then blind, you enter shroud and it removes blind
eg. if you get hit by in this order: blind then immobilize then vulnerability, you enter shroud and it removes vulnerability

well..i have watched my fair share of warrior builds and videos and streams but am not sure which is the best warrior build to rekt all necros.
So far the Rifle/GS and the GS/Sword+Shield (binding+fear combo) looks strongest.
But IDK…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
it removes the last applied condition

This is for WvW
I main a necro and am fairly proficient at killing warriors.
Now I want to create a warrior to kill necros.
I want to ask the advise of the warrior tribes here of the best necro killing build 1v1 in WvW regardless of whether the necro is a power/condi/hybrid.
IS THERE A BUILD OUT THERE THAT CAN SOLIDLY SAY THAT IT IS A NECRO WRECKING BUILD?

Solo-Roam 1v1 fights in WvW
Does elementalist have the ultimate anti-condi build?
I recently fought a diamond skin full dire ele in WvW.
Are they the death of any other pure full condi builds out there?
They have high HP and Armor and is extremely difficult for a full condi build to bring them below 90% before they die themselves to the ele’s condi.
I don’t play ele so I’m not too sure, but does anyone here play this build?
Or can anyone theorize a diamond skin full dire ele WvW build and post it here with traits armor weapons etc?
Thanks!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
That’s what I did initially.
I tried using DS also to break his diamond when I first fought him but failed twice.
My initial build I had 1800 power with 34% crit and low CD.
DS lifeblast was only hitting like 500-600 on him and not consistently because of his evades and dodges.
DS 4 was the same.
There was not enough sustained damage to bring him below 90% HP.
I won after my friend told me this:
“You have been playing condi build on your necro for too long. Condi’s style is to slowly build damage and chip away at an opponent’s HP. You can’t do the same against a diamond ele by slowing chipping away his HP. He is going to dodge and heal and evade and destroy you. You need to chain your skills to burst him below 90%.”
That’s what I did. Chained all my staff marks on him and used DS 4 and got him below 90% =D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
YESSSSSSSSSSSS I managed to beat the full dire diamond skin condi ele with this build!
won 2 out of 3 duels. The key was to spam staff marks on him then shroud 4 which assuming I hit most of them, would bring him below 90% for a fear chain. which ended the fight pretty fast.
WHOOOOO.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
it was already positive. just that too many ppl dont know how to play necro well so they complain.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
“Don’t jump”
Hmm ok. I will now just stand there with my mesmer while say a thief is attacking me and I won’t try to parkour my way out because yeah, being instantly killed is better than having a slight chance of getting immobilized mid air. Oh, I’ll also miss my phantasms due to obstructed instead of jumping to make them him.
L2P

i support this. T1 blobbing is horrendous.

simple fix
dont jump?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I changed up my build recently for more power and hopefully I get to fight a diamond ele again. And see if my new build works.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
thanks!
and it was a duel. I won 3 times in a row initially before he traited and thrashed me D=
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
So i recently 1v1ed a diamond skin, full dire, condi ele in WvW.
How to win as a condi nec D=
I couldn’t bring his HP below 90%
also assuming I did, if he bring it up above 90% again, does it re-activate diamond skin?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I tried the new FiTG myself and I must say that it is not good for some builds out there. Probably only good for a pure condi or tank build.
sucks for just about every other build.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
Discuss the effects on PvP?
Will Necro now become a dominant force?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
Depends on your build and playstyle and what sort of battles you find yourself engaging in.
Personally I dislike PvP. I prefer to roam in WvW solo with my necro.
This is the build I run.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fRAQNArYWjc0UbbnNO2wfbCchSqeA6FIAaho/gJIfB-TlCFABNq+jc7PAwRA43TAgAHCg00GAlyv40BolSQlfAABAQAmZZWmzMwRP6RP6RPa7cnHdnH9olCAm5AA-w
As you can see, I run neither soul marks nor vital persistence lol. I’m not off topic though. My point is, choose what is best for your build based on your experiences.
My experience while roaming solo in WvW was that I struggle sometimes against good DP thieves. They blackpowder then heartseeker. standard combo. So I run with Shrouded removal.
And Voila! Magic! Suddenly I struggle less. If I’m fast enough, a blackpowder that blinds me can be removed by entering deathshroud and then fearing the thief while he is in the middle of his heartseeker! Then suddenly the thief is totally on the back foot, forced to use his stun break and all that early in the fight, leaving me with a chance to burst him 20 seconds later while his stun break is still on CD.
Also some classes that put out what could potentially be dangerous immobilizations has a chance to be cleared if it is the only condi on you at that moment =D
So my reason for not going soul marks or vital persistance? I run a burst build, 66200. Either I successfully burst and kill the enemy early, or I die. I don’t have any reliable LF generation ability, even my spec armor utility is dependent on the enemy’s actions. So well…my idea is minimal but effective defense, and the rest offense.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
just to add he is a top notch ranger. One of the toughest I have fought against.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
watch this and he has a lot of builds listed on his page too. all of them works.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
wow love your necro look to Holl! too bad not an asura.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
wow thanks for the tips. watching that video is just jawdrop. instant cast nukes? meaning we don’t even got an animation to watch out for to dodge! The only clue is when we see him go air attunement but look at the speed of his casts! it will take a lucky dodge to evade his nukes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I like your looks zerosouls!
what hat is that on your head? and how do I get it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I recently fought a freshair ele in WvW 1vs1 twice.
I suppose she is a freshair ele as she kept a distance and was using a long range lightning zappy chain thing that went bzzzt bzzzt bzzzt
I found her yak walking, you know defending a shepherding a yak to the keep and engaged her.
First time I won. But it was a very close fight. I was down to 25% HP and she was still around 75%. But I caught her in a fear chain and burst her down.
I was quite surprised she pushed me so close to death. I had fought freshair eles before her but rarely, maybe total only 3 times in 1 year of roaming. And they never gave me much problems even though I had no idea what they really did.
I’m a condi/power necro hybrid btw.
So as I was curious, I let her rez and fought her again to have more experience and see what made them so dangerous.
The second time we fought, I got crushed completely. I barely brought her HP to 75% while she ate through my entire deathshroud and HP. In just a couple of seconds she did some lightning zappy thing that took out 50% of my HP.
So my Question is, what makes a freshair ele tick? what is their main damage dealer? what should I be looking out for to dodge?
I was just dodging randomly with no idea what I should be dodging lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8

Hi everyone, I have played thief for about slightly over 100 hours to understand better how it works.
I have fought thieves for over 1000+ hours though so I know their strengths and weaknesses too.
Here are some suggestions Anet can consider:
1) shadow refuge
An AOE ability to stealth and heal the thief and his allies for many seconds is pretty strong and overkill. I suggest making it a bit more challenging by disallowing dodges/evades while in the refuge. No dodging or evading allowed if the thief or his allies are standing in the refuge. This allows enemies to land a successful attempt to draw them out of the refuge.
2) shadow step
instant cast and such a long range with stun break and condi cleanse makes this kind of cheesy. I suggest either reducing the range to 600 so that enemies will generally still be able to react, or remove the condi cleanse on return part.
3) hide in shadows
a skill that heals and allows the thief to go invis and cures burning poison and bleeding on top of the healing makes things too easy for a thief. I suggest increasing the casting duration to 1.5 seconds
4) Withdraw
another no brainer healing skill that gives evade and mobility which should be made harder to use. I suggest including a casting duration of 1 sec instead of letting it be instant.
5) Infiltrator strike
Such a high mobility skill should not be allowed to cure one condition upon return as well at such low initiative costs. I suggest increasing the initiative costs by 1 for initial cast and return cast as well.
6) Black powder
A skill that allows a thief to combo and stealth off is already very devastating. Add a blind to it and that is like what??? I suggest removing the blind or not allowing the stealth. Either way works.
7) Pistol Whip
Even though the range is small, but seriously, stun and evade in one skill at 5 initiatives? I suggest making it 6. or even 7 initiative cost. and that would only make it just nice.
Now the thief’s traits I don’t have much issues with. Quite fair and even for their traits. Except maybe with all those reworks above the traits might have to be revisited. So lets look at a few of those more problematic ones.
1) Panic Strike
Immobilize for so long with only a 20sec cooldown…this I can let slide…but seriously I will suggest making it a 90sec cooldown but make it immobilize on 25% health. You know, at that point its a sure kill for the thief when you immobilize the enemy at 25%. and maybe also give it 3 stacks of might when the enemy is at 25% health.
2) Shadow’s Embrace
For an adept trait, removing 1 to 2 condis every time you stealth is way overkill. I suggest changing it to regeneration instead upon entering stealth. Gives the thief some nice extra healing while he is invis.
What do you guys think? constructive comments please.

hooohhh nice dragon finisher =D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
So… you… y-you just gave up on trapper runes!? * gasp *
Well you are right that a stunbreak could save you sometimes, but my problem is, can you outrun/juke/avoid a zerg with a stunbreak? That extra 3 seconds of stealth has allowed me to get away so many time. Having 2 traits and your rune set all focused on traps means that taking 2 would be the most optimal. Not saying a stunreak wouldn’t be nice, but wolf fear, tons of protection and evades on weapon skills is enough IMO
I’m surprised you said this since you are a top necro player too =p
I’m sure you know a good necro CAN and WILL very likely catch you in a chain fear burst.
Even sword dagger thieves run with at least one stun break.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I have used all 3 runes.
Perplexity is overrated. It is not as devastating on a necro as many seem to claim. It gives you some added damage for sure but is not totally overpowering. Time your interrupts well and it gives you an edge. You end up running slow though, unless you run with warhorn, or traited dual dagger, or speed signet.
Nightmare runes same drawback as perplexity, slow unless you run one or more of the above. Nightmare runes are pretty decent. It gives you some breathing space against non-stability classes. Especially against classes that you need to preferably spike and burst down, like thieves. That extra fear gives you more opportunities to chain fear the thief down.
Traveler runes give you a constant decent speed. The boon duration is nothing to rave about since we don’t got much boons.
Personally I prefer Traveler runes. I don’t run spectral walk, war horn, speed signet, dual traited daggers. And once I got used to the running speed that traveler runes give, I just never could get used to roaming around without that speed.
But I think all 3 runes work just great depending on your playstyle and how you build your necro. Ultimately it is up to you. A rune that gives more offensive and defensive capability like the perplex or nightmare runes might mean that if you want to quality of life in terms of faster movement speed while roaming, you will have to give up something else to get it.
My build.
Very solid.
Gives me a 50-50 chance in a 1v1 against pretty much any other roaming class who knows how to fight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I leveled a ranger some time ago to 80 and tried LB + GS and it was hella boring.
Pew pew and the enemy dies. If he lives long enough to get near you, kite with GS then swap back to LB and pew pew till he dies or you die.
I stopped using my ranger to solo roam cause it was so boring.
I only used him in zerg fights when I try to snipe the enemy’s ranger or necro down.
Until I saw Glad’s stream where he played a full melee ranger and owned.
The full melee ranger is the most beautiful and flowing style of fighting on all the classes.
The way the melee ranger spins and pirouts and flow from one slash to the other was pure beauty
Of course, Glad’s smooth transition from one weapon set to the other was a beauty to watch too.
We who have rangers should have a try at full melee.
It really has the most beautiful fighting style of all the professions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
and I thanked ANET for making my day for making me laugh.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I couldn’t believe my eyes too when I saw the mobility better with lower cast time.
Had a really good laugh.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
ya which means it might not be that easy to chain fear now if the opponent has a pulsing stab on
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I don’t pvp or gvg or wvw zerg much so I cant say for those areas.
what i do 99% of the time with my necro is wvw solo roam.
and I must say necro is not weak at all.
I win 99% of the time against builds that I have an advantage against, like against every other condi build, I got a strong advantage even when I played badly. like against every boon stacking build like dd ele if I switch to corrupt boon in time.
Even against professions that I generally am on even ground or even suffer against, it is not a one-sided fight, but a 50-50 fight against like thief and mesmers and guardians.
The only profession/build I really suffer against is a longbow zerker ranger. Almost always a one sided win for the ranger if he knows how to kite well.
So actually I am very happy where necros are right now.
We Are Strong.
And Nothing Stands In Our Way.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
oh thank you drarnor.
that clarifies and i feel at peace now.
turns out the stability changes wont affect a solo roaming necro then. except for the pulsing types that well…renders corrupt boon less useful.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
for example, if the stability stack duration turns out to last longer now and as a solo roaming condi necro, I dont have enough fears to remove the stacks anyway which can easily range from 3-10 stacks, which means I have to kite and stay alive longer without my fear having any effects to help me, then I just change my build.
Don’t need to slam ANET and ask them to change things back or make it so that your current build gets a buff.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
Post patch, I just glance through all the other professions’ forum threads and guess what? they have little to no hate there.
No one is crying and screaming and denouncing ANET for the changes.
Some even thank and applaud the changes.
But look at our Necro forum.
You see so much hate posts complaining about this and complaining about that.
I think we need to show better appreciation and manners.
If a change hits your skill negatively, then don’t use that skill.
if it affects your build negatively, then change your build.
a willow tree bends with the wind

be that willow tree
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I dont know if this is a buff or not.
I roam solo
I only got 2 fears with long cooldowns.
warriors get like 5 to 10 stacks per skill or 3 stacks on pulse per elite or trait or whatever.
I dont have enough fears to remove his stacks.
If I 1v1 a warrior, I either corrupt his non-elite stability stacks, or I kite and wait out the stability duration.
That is why i want to know how long his stacks are going to last now. if it lasts the same duration as before, then great because everything is status quo. it is just as good as me not being able to remove his stability even if it is in stack form now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
THE question that decides the fate of a WvW solo roaming condi necro
How long does the stability stacks last?
i mean i roam solo and cannot afford to burn my fears when i have no chance of removing the stacks alone
assuming i have no corrupt and just kite as i currently do until their stability runs out, i would really like to know how long the duration of the stability stacks last.
if the duration remained the same, i can live with it.
if the duration decreased, i will be very happy.
if the duration increased, i am going to go full berserker. RIP condi/terror.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsby6rYkxS8
I just did some roaming and realized that CB and PS does not need facing to proc successfully!
I corrupted an ele’s boon while running away from him and transferred immobilize on a ranger while he was behind me without looking at him.
I believe in the past you needed to face/look at your target but it seems like you do not need to now.
it is AWESOME
