well the wave banning is to prevent bot makers from catching on to game scripts that are used to identify the bots.

bots will always be back but anet will ban them in waves and eventually the $60 investment won’t be worth it for the gold farmers.

I don’t see any balancing in this regard. fast classes with hit and run are just so much better.

You are forgeting one thing. ARENANET has tools how to measure everything. They know how much money they make trought gems, they know everything. We dont.

So you can just make assuptions all day about how is nobody giving money to Anet but the facts could be totally different.

What if Arenanet is making morey money after the lost shore event than before?
What if players are playing more then before?

well since next to nobody bought anything for lostshores from what I can see. The chests and dyes were universally considered pointless and even black friday generated less interest than the halloween event. I would guess the gem buying is much lower than before.

there needs to be better sinks for finished goods, the donation packages are a joke.

There should also be less crap that just requires more ectos and more t6. Why don’t materials just use t5, t4, t3 … materials in conjunction with T6?

I much enjoyed the open world events and just wondering the land. Now the land is barren and its not even fun. There is next to no reward to exploring either. All there is is endless grinding of fractals or dungeons.

The only thing I really like any more is WvW.

Why is any item subjected to supply/demand when you can always get more of it?

Considering only a small subset of items are discontinued or unobtainable, by your logic, almost everything in the TP should be free.

This would be easy to change too. They can reuse the code they used for lost shore event with the errors removed.

Spawn zones as they are needed and maintain a zone population of about 50. This way the game isn’t dead for a lot of people and every zone will have people doing events. Its now pretty much impossible to enjoy PvE anymore due to how low the population in zones beside LA is in most servers.

For WvW, you can just choose an affiliation. Which will be locked like they are now for a week.

LA can then have a LFG option that spans the entire game for people who do dungeons and fractals.

Right now, LA is always in overflow, every other zone is dead and nobody can find games.

This is just kittens at this point. Everything is being ignored. Even the response to the lost shore thread got unstickied.

When mists of pandaria launched daily play time shot up to 120k just like gw2 did at launch. Today WoW stands at 21k exactly 2x of what Gw2 shows today.

So if such a drop is an indication of decline especially to the level people imply dont you think we’d have heard that WoW subscription went under something like 5m by now? yet on november 7th Blizzard announced subscriptions rose to over 10 million. Xfire on that day showed 14k hours Clearly, without a shred of doubt a decline in Xfire isnt reflected with a decline in players because before MOP WoW was under 9m users

Thats also ignoring the fact that the xfire numbers suggests Gw2 has 1/2 the players that WoW has and I am sure if they reached 5m sales we’d have heard about it !

You know you need 1 month of subscription to play WoW right? which is why when MOP came out, the subscriptions when up. And you really didn’t point to any sample or population Bias. You didn’t show anything about how xfire users are more likely to stop playing GW2. Which is what is needed to somehow counter the point of a general declining trend.

Don’t forget all the crying was BEFORE they launched fractals….Now everything is all about lfg (pick you difficulty) fractals spam in LA. People moan, but they secretly love grinding the new gear

Im beginning to think they just want to sweep this under the rug and hope people forget about it. They have said nothing for a week.

They should really just make events give much better rewards. And lower level zones give better rewards still. Makes it so that the rewards in Orr is only 30% better than the starting zones and that the events in Orr have a chance to drop ascended.

Also karma ascended, craftable ascended, and wvw ascended and tradable ascended.

If for some reason you never go to LA, you’d think you were playing a single player game where all the side quests are impossible.

More likely a bug. But pure speculation.

I was denied multiple times trying to do level 2 on my alt which is level 52. The fact that it takes an while to even find a group doing level 2, I don’t get why people care. Many people have done up to level 5 with low lever chars.

I actually want more supply.

it took me an hour to find a party and we could only do 1 floor because of a play dcing. Getting to level 2 now will be nearly impossible unless you have people to help you.

Every other zone is dead. LA is continuous overflows. Nobody even talks any more. The game is just no fun now.

Given that, i assume, a vast majority of active accounts that were logged in were in the event it is no surprise that several dozens or hundred dropped.

I am also not convinced everyone posting a precursor in chat actually obtained it in the chest, or that they were all precursor. There are several named exotics with special effects, that aren’t precursor.

No, neither i nor any of the six other guildies i wad with received a precursor. Several named exotics though.

in my guild of about 20 people who finished the event, 3 got precursors.
3/20 = 15%
not a big sample so I won’t use it, I will use 1% as a low ball estimate.

Now, lets say 3 million people played on day 3. half finished the event. and 1% got a precursor. Now there is 15 000 new precursors added in 1 day.

Got a bit of “light reading” for you to do. It will explain to you why your point is entirely moot far better than I ever could.

No, I do. You just don’t understand why your point is utterly meaningless.

Quoting a handful of people that you know and play the game with is not an unbiased
sample. It’s a choice sample and the results will be skewed.

I could point out that among all of my guildmates and friends, none of us received a precursor. So based on your logic, that means the precursors had a 0% drop rate, right? Obviously not, but it follows the same strand of logic. When you take an incredibly small sample of players and used biased methods in doing so, your results will always be meaningless and will indicate virtually nothing of actual meaning or value.

This is basic statistics.

What would be a much BETTER indicator is if ANet were to post statistics as to how many players obtained precursors in total during the event. But most likely people would just claim that they’re lying because….obviously they’d have every reason to make up numbers, right?

Also make stuff to fill the gaps between blues and whites and greens yellows and oranges. Probably more colors. Also makes it so that when you get legendary, you become invincible.

Kinda seems a little silly to complain cause someone has gotten two precursors, As if they couldn’t get two from any other chest in the game with the dragons or otherwise. It’s just extreme luck…

Secondly, If someone has enough money to buy those precursors at that price, Then what does it matter if it goes too someone else, Obviously if people can pay that much people have that much if not more already..

this is a one time only event. You can redo the dragon chests. This event has a much higher chance to get the items.

Devs don’t even make many official comments. To make new accounts to skew the community wouldn’t make much sense.
