Sounds like you need a FotM class to enjoy the game. If so, then no, don’t play.

Who writes this stuff? Necros are fantastic in sPvP.

Fantastic soloing Pve as well. Sure, they dont get much dungeon love, but mine have never been kicked.

The loading screens were terrible… but didnt they even check to put their avatar in the right zone first? The guy had just been doing spvp? LOL that German needs a backhand from management.

Viable Hammer DPS.

I love the aesthetics of hammer, especially with the ley line hammer, but there is absolutely no reason to use a hammer in a dungeon. The symbol of protection is pretty useless and the only hammer specific trait, Glacial Heart, is equally pointless.

Run hammer for roaming fun, by all means, but anything less than GS in dungeons , and other effective dps situations, is a waste of time. GS Aoe is also superior.

Hammer, tbh, needs a 10% dps buff trait refix to be useful.

In a dungeons you are better of staff might stacking and switching to GS.

Valor and Honor lines are pretty useless. You will only kill more slowly and increase opportunities for your own death. Use the traits build above and try speed runs if you want some health ( as guardian baseline health is = lowest in the game) The 25% constant speed buff is pretty schmexy.

Id also switch in and out of Absolute Resolution and Supreme Justice in the 10 point virtue slot for defense/ cleansing and dps respectively, depending upon the situation.

I’d advise you to go into the kitchen, or do something else during the tedious chat scenes in Season 2. Episode 1 and 2, at least, are saturated with poor voice acting and tedious deep voice lesbian dialogue rammed into artificially into the dialogue in what is a presumed attempt to be cutting edge and cool. It is the worst rubbish in the game to date.

Season 1 was pretty cool, I thought, and the little asura isn’t bad in the new season. All the super hero female NPCs are a little tiring, but w/evs works for Anet and their market share, I guess.

I hope something interesting happens, however. It is a wee bit of a snooze fest at present.

I was desperate for the spinal blades and spent over 150g getting them done. Now I don’t even use them.

Go outside, walk about, come back in a week and you might not care.

*Run EotM for Badge of Honor
*Accumulate about 1000. (This is incredibly easy running with the zerg + you get exp)
*Go to WvW vendor where they sell Berserker gear for <1g + about 160 odd token per item

The key terms are ‘overrun’ ‘swarm’ and ‘dominate’.

Some people are fine, masses swarming over the landscape, however, is not much fun and kills immersion for me.

I really don’t enjoy going out into the world and see it overrun with random people.

Like rats they swarm over mobs, dominate the landscape and inhibit immersion.

It is really killing my game buzz.

Is there a server free from this plague? Or is that it now? Done and dusted, as it were….game over.

What do you ‘hate’ about it? Is it the human interaction thing? Or what?

I really hope they pop up. I was tossing up which weapon to get, when work took me away from the game and out of town suddenly for a week…

While mapping WvW maps was annoying, it was expanded my playing experience and made ‘been there done that’ all the more rewarding.

And somewhere along the run, before I realized, I found it fun.

They could, however, make the greatest of all titles by cutting out the WvW maps. Imagine it:

An insightful post that echoes much own concerns. Interestingly enough, I too am in education, a agree with your observations on cognitive estrangement/ dissonance in learning, both there and in the world.

As I am mostly interested in aesthetics, the mastery of many of the areas you address remains lost in the fog of ignorance.

I have, for example, run Twilight A ‘Up’ more times than I can recall, and yet I have no idea why I get one shot on the tree at times, no how to avoid it. No idea at all.

Perhaps shaped by a 10 year reliance on such information sites as wowhead, I have become dependent upon such things and have struggled to find resources for research outside the game. I doubt I am the only one and am sure I am one of many. It took me a year discover dulfy sites, and despite 5 × 80s, I have remained unschooled in the art of simple things such as might stacking for most of my GW2 playing history.

In many ways. Anet’s deliberate reluctance to provide information seems a bewildering financial strategy, as it keeps players such as I at an almost carefully calibrated remove from the immersive potential of information. Consequently, I am left feeling peripheral and reluctant to spend money in the BLTP, in game where, given the potential for immersion resulting from the aesthetic qualities of the game, I could foresee myself spending a fortune.

Ah well, off to get carried for more visually pleasing armor combinations….

I think it’s random what color your server will be next round…or it has to do with score/rank…no clue…
All I know is that I was waiting for 4 weeks to complete map (only due to WvW) waiting to be red…missing only ONE point of Interest in the red borderland in Cliffside keep. Color switched this way: Blue, green, blue, green. If yesterday a zerg wouldn’t have been so awesome to finally decide to give a shot to Cliffside, I would STILL be missing that.
That’s why I will ALWAYS complain about WvW maps for map completion.

How often do the Eternal BG starting positions rotate? Ive been checking for a bout 3 weeks and we haven’t moved. All I need is about 3 towers in the left corner….

Have they changed anything so we not longer move? or is it a monthly thing?

Here are mine. For some reason with the new set my dye channels have some dyes in them I don’t even own, oxblood and midnight red. I’m on the fence right now about it as there seems to be a lot less detail in the new set like around the waist area and such. I’m not exactly thrilled that it is a reskin of feathered since we were told the new set would be really nice. I guess by ‘really nice’ I was assuming it would be a completely different skin from existing ones but I know what they say about assuming.

I dont get Anet on this. I’d drop the credit card for some decent armor skins in a flash. They could farm us for real gold like it was going out of fashion, but no…. they make this rubbish. It makes NO business sense whatsoever.

What I have heard read and seen its a toss up to what will happen. I know someone who gave his brother 2k gold to help buy his legendary. They both ended up having there accounts suspended while Anet looked into the matter. I think it took a few days but they both got there accounts back.

My understanding is the entire system is automated and any time its sees any unusual transactions it flags the account and blocks it.

I have also heard of people on these forums having there accounts blocked after large sums of gold are transferred. I have also heard of people having no problem sending large amounts of gold.

I guess its kinda a roll of the dice to what will happen. Chances are thought if your blocked the account will be unblocked in a few days you gotta just wait for them to look into it.

Also don’t bother contacting customer support. I posted a ticket last month some time. I am still waiting on my response.

Also if u do what the above poster said there is a 2 message per hour limit.

I never got kicked in the 1k APs for anything. Just wait, let it reset and persevere. The cool down is really poor, but, as with most things in life, you get over it. I raged for a couple of days, too

Each new run i do, I just follow and feel embarrassed and try not to be noticed. It usually works. You can’t help but feel like an idiot the first time.

I hate that one, such a stupid jump.

Aww, mate. I spent an hour on one part of that jump and had to walk away for 1/2 a day before trying again for another 30 mins. It was death~ but strangely lingers in the memory as my most satisfying completion. It is always the way.

There is one almost vertical leap in the Fields of Gold in the cursed short which took forever too. It wasn’t dangerous, as such, as you didn’t fall yo your death or have to go back to the start, as you do in the Drowned Brine, but it seemed to have no logic. I only got it when I wasn’t even watching…That was really annoying.

I LOVE leveling.

Of course there is progression. It is enjoyable to see how much your character has developed when you duck into lowbie events and smash them.

It is all about the journey. Slow down and look out the window sometime, you might notice something interesting.

I just wish I could turn of the scarlet story alerts.

Real issues would be: Champion trains and lack of directional content at 80. And yeah, engineers are still rubbish in PvE…

Do a couple of explorer mode dungeons to get the ‘look’ you want, troll about a few maps doing events thinking, ‘Rawr! Man, I am 80/ flex smash’, then roll and alt.

I enjoy playing with different people. You learn new things. Diversity is the spice of life.

I get this ALL THE TIME and its making me crazy.

Log on for the first time in hours? get cooldown….
Group break up? get cooldown….
Get beaten into a group? get cooldown…
Run 1 × 10 min dungeon? get cooldown…

Managed to queue for 1 dungeon over an hour last night.

I can’t figure why this isn’t a bigger issue for players.

How does this thing work and does it bug a lot?

I have just attempted to join a group for the 1st time today and i have the cooldown.

I don’t get and this is not the first time.

It seems to proc of the following as well:
When I get beaten to a group and it fills, I get a cd.
When I join the group and it breaks up, I get a cd.
When I make a group and it breaks up, i get a cd.
When I log on after baking cookies, I get a cd.

Is there any purpose for this CD anyway? does it solve anything? Does anyone else have this problem? Is it broken? Ive been able to run 1 × 10 mins dungeon in 2 hour today….

All it does to me is stops me from playing.

Just because YOUR liberal ideology compels you to force your play-style on others, does not mean that the Queensdale gig is a bad thing. For those of us who have been here since launch and do not WANT to level through all of those crappy mindless events for the 8th time, this is a relaxing, albeit slow alternative that you can pop in to and out of with ease. The game needs things like this, and less people who would see things ruined for others because they do not personally see the value in them.
