No one likes fighting Thieves or Mesmers to begin with.
Fighting anything that can go invisible at will is mind numbingly boring.
No, the Revenant is really, really far away from the paladin archetype.
Open the first world of SAB again, in memory of Satoru Iwata’s death.
While “Moto” is the main NPC, being an easter egg of Miyamoto – Satoru Iwata have done so much for games and the gaming history, and more for Nintendo.
SAB being heavily inspired by these old games Nintendo made in the past.
Would be nice to have
It would be really nice to have something that is needed for something
But it shouldn’t be required or needed
- And the moment this is said, it becomes completely useless.
You either need it, or you don’t. It’s super hard to make “barely need it” because people will just either need it, or not need it and go full berserker again.
What I find refreshing is that the OP actually thinks the game will last long enough to get to the ‘final boss’.
It’s the little things in life, like that.
Has any MMO ever reached the “final boss” stage?
The stealth in Guild Wars 2 is probably the most broken stealth mechanic in any MMO I must say.
Even if it only lasts some seconds, it can be re-applied as easily.
It’s also why thief and mesmer are the most boring profession to ever fight against in any situation. If their attack doesn’t work, they just have to re-stealth and run away, and then approach whenever they feel like it.
The only thing you can do is to wait and attack randomly or where you think they went.
Been suggested plenty of times.
Some think it’s cool, some are skeptical about it.
I think a taunt would fit the “frontline” theme guardian got, especially with a shield.
And people see beta as their actual gameplay, as always.
WoW is going full samurai with the seppuku they are doing at the moment.
Guild Wars 2 has been pointing the blade towards their chest a couple of times but seems to lay it down every now and then.
There is a reason why mesmer and thief are both the most boring profession to ever fight against.
Because barely anything happens, and when something do happen, it happens all instantly, but it’s not you who do anything.
And if that doesn’t kill you, they are gone again with you just standing still waiting for next approach.
in World of what…ever, the stealth is unlimited if I remember correctly, no? the way it plays is very different, in general people are less mobile, they move less/jump and are very depending on the unlimited stealth…….
Rogues and druids (the classes that can stealth) run faster in stealth than what other classes do normally.
They almost run at mount speed, while being invisible.
Yeah, it’s ridiculous.
But Guild Wars 2 stealth remains the most broken stealth mechanic in any MMO.

The beauty about The Flameseeker Prophecies, is that it’s the only legendary with some kind of lore tied to it.
It’s the prophecy Glint saw.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Flameseeker_Prophecies
The Flameseeker Prophecies are a collection of proclamations foreseen by the dragon Glint in 272 AE in Guild Wars Prophecies. They are a collection of predictions concerning the future of Tyria and the survival of humans in the face of great and terrible events that would engulf their world.
The exact wording of the prophecies is unknown. Glint seems to be the only one fully aware of it, though the White Mantle (through the Mursaat), Vizier Khilbron, Turai Ossa, and Meerak the Shouter seem to know at least some of it as well. Along with a few Ascalonian ghosts.
It’s the only legendary with this deep and very long story behind it, it being named after the very first Guild Wars game.
That, is truly legendary.
First page:
Hail the Flameseeker
Pro(p)hecies All shall
be?re(ve)aled in time and
with the revelat(i)on
comes the end Yes the
end Heed the Prophecies
Beware the unseen enemy
Sinners prepare to meet
your makers Heed the
prophecy well The end…Second page:
…is near The prophecy is
truth and the truth
shall set us free Repent
The end is nigh Follow
the prince Though he
is doomed his is the
only way to salvation
So saith the prophecy
fall down to your knees
and beg the gods
That’s what the pages says that sits on the book. It’s such a fine crafter legendary with so much motives and detail.
One week out of many more that you will play this game.
The only thing I can think of is how this will create memories in the future, which will be fun to look back at, even if this goes to hell or not.
Make sword #2 a target that you can choose where to place. Where you place it you will teleport and drop a symbol that does whatever each tick. I guess blind condition each tick would be too OP or something.
Precursor for Rodgort’s Flame, the torch. Was around 250 gold.
Well known.
Been doing that since the beginning of the game. I’ve always used a shield.
I want the waypoint system to be more like original Guild Wars.
Basically less waypoints put in maps that you can teleport to, but from there you have to walk where you want to go. It was free to teleport there too.
This could also make it more interesting with these waypoints being in more settlement like areas, and have a bank, trading post and such, giving players their own personal place they like.
The teleport system is like Guild Wars 1.There, you needed to get to a shrine to activate it before you could use it, just like it’s needed to get to a waypoint here. The only real difference is the cost but they had different gold sinks in that game.
And that there are far, far more waypoints than there were outposts.

Some bugs are worth considering and turn into something real.
Let me guess.
US servers.
Because nothing ever happens on EU.
It’s a decent troll profession in WvW roaming.
Dragon demands audience? really?
Revealing that the dragons are far more than just a force of nature, and actually very intelligent beings with an evil personality.
Wooden Potatoes. Complains that dungeons are too short. Yet proceeds to show himself using unintended exploits to skip almost every mob possible with a well organized group.
Unintended exploits.
Lol.
What rock are you hiding under?
I kittening love that comic in your sig, farz.
I’m up there competing with ArenaNet writing!
At least I find myself using 2 different elites now compared to only Renewed Focus, everywhere.
Guild Wars 2 raiding should be like guild jumping puzzles but on steroids, and even more stuff, and new mechanics, and fights that require more than berserker – puzzle solving, coordination, and set rewards for that dungeon only that drops from chests or bosses themselves.
OMFG !!!
I hope you’re not serious about this [censored] idea !
Also, you people really do not read, see the part about requiring damage, control, support !!!This generation is doomed if all you do is skip read !
I just think ArenaNet should do their own style kind of raiding, and not go after what every other MMO does with their raiding.
A big puzzle solving raid could be fresh and interesting, mixed with combat using new mechanics and fights not always requiring set amount of damage or healing or tanking, but brains instead.

Sword has lost its place among the meta, because it still has every glaring weakness that it had before, but no longer has a trait to boost its damage.
Thanks Anet.
Right Hand Strength increases crit chance for sword and reduces Sword skills CD.
Right-Hand Strength increases crit for all one-hand, main-hand weapons.
I’m okay with the game being casualised if there is other hard mode content making up for it.
I’m waiting to see what the challenging content is that ArenaNet is teasing us about. So I will wait and see.
Everything looks better without wings.
Still think it’s the same as before patch since guardians didn’t get changed in a huge way.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_AH_Frontliner
While they show the old traits and such, you can still pretty much copy it as good as you can with the new traits.
For now at least.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
Meditation build with Monk’s Focus is strong for survival.
Sadly, Berserker will always be the thing hardcore players want in their dungeon runs, but not everyone are like that.
You can always mix Berserker and Soldier armour.
I got Berserker weapons and 2 Berserker amulets. Then I got 3 Soldier armour pieces and 3 Valkyrie pieces. Then 4 Soldier trinkets and such.
I’m overdoing it with soldier but that’s because I play WvW.
I don’t feel like I need more crit since Radiance trait line give me so much fury from traits.
Yes.

As the title says, it kinda boggles my mind.
As many of you know, Demon Hunter was a hero introduced into the Warcraft universe by Blizzard and it definitely wasn’t the issue there. Lore wise, sure, the demons were the ultimate enemies pulling the strings but a Demon Hunter killed many things other than demons.
In Guild Wars 2 universe, sure ultimately the enemies are the dragons, and they are seen killing non-dragon units.
So why was there no issue whatsoever with the Demon Hunter character and so much problem with the Dragon Hunter class?
To me this shows that the community is just desperate to complain about anything at all.
Because World of Warcraft is a completely different universe, with its own lore and stories. Demon hunters infuse themselves with demonic energies, to become somewhat of a demon overtime, giving up their life to actually only hunt demons. Demon hunters don’t kill other things, unless they have to to reach a certain demon.
The difference between demon hunter and dragonhunter is big, really big. Just because their name is somewhat similar, their concept is far away from each other.
Make #4 an execution ability.
When opponent is under or at 10% and you cast it, they die instantly.
Heuheu.
Professions are in a bit of turmoil at the moment because of changes in the trait (talents) system, as well as some other profession changes.
At the moment, Mesmer is really, really crazily strong in PvP and other 1vs1 situations.
Every profession can go ranged to some degree so you have nothing to worry about there, though some profession does it far better than others.
Thief is not exactly hard to play, and it’s really annoying to meet. It’s true that stealth is not something you can be in forever but it’s almost close to it and damage does not reveal you. You can spam skills that makes you jump in and out if stealth, and it’s one if the very best ways to absolutely confuse your opponent. Thief also got good ranged option.
And all of them are human female with under boob black leather and anime coloured hairstyle with the flower in the hair.
Depends on the game if there should be a child character or not. Guild Wars 2 is not one of them.
Zelda games does it good.
I think it’s silly people judge everything on the weapon just because it’s the weapon, and they haven’t even seen the playstyle yet…
its already confirmed that elementalist gets sword mainhand
Source?
Doesn’t Virtues get replaced automatically?
I think taunt is not fit to guardian
Why do you think that? The very idea for the guardian is to have enemies go through you before they meet your allies. You pretty much are the tank in that sense, even though there are no roles like that in the game, not fully.
You save your allies from threat by having them immobilized through ground control or to make them attack you. A taunt would fit perfectly.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
ArenaNet knows that if they go silent on a topic, it will eventually all go silent, and they won’t have to do anything about it.
Either way, the name and the whole explanation is still bad.
A new boon, condition and control effect is in the game.
The new boon is Resistance.
Resistance
Resistance temporarily negates the affected target of all effects caused by conditions. For example, if a character affected by fear condition, they’ll stop running in fear when resistance is placed on them. When resistance ends, they’ll resume running in fear if the condition is still in place.
The new condition is Slow.
Slow
Slow is a condition that reduces the activation time of skills and abilities.
New control effect is taunt.
Taunt
Taunt is a control effect that forces the affected target to run towards the source of taunt with all skills except stun breakers disabled while using their auto-attack skill.
…
Will the guardian see these new types in its skills? Resistance sounds like an obvious boon for the guardian to have. Taunt seem to be a control affect that could be given to the guardian shield skill.
The patch introduced them, but only a few professions were given it. Will we see more if them in Heart of Thorns?
I use the shield, and have done so since the headstart of this game 25th of August 2012.
Even decided to craft The Flameseeker Prophecies.
I just like it more than the focus, and the torch, even if it is considered the worst because of not doing any good damage, I think it’s really fun to use.
I’m not convinced until I try it out myself.
I don’t end up in a lot of 1vs1 only situtations. I want to try that stuff out.
