Personally I’m a bit frustrated because I enjoy playing the game but I don’t enjoy spending a bunch of time trying to get from point A where I am to point B where I can actually play.
I don’t understand why game designers think vertical zones are such a great innovation when every game I’ve seen them in has demonstrated that most players avoid them whenever possible.
Many will hate it.
The few who like it will soothe the makers.
My feeling is the majority feel very let down.
My feeling is on the opposite side.
I feel that the majority enjoys it, and players who shouldn’t play MMO’s to begin with want everything with a slight resistance on a silver platter.

“Why didn’t anyone tell me about the Sharks?”
Putting the spoilers warning in a short post that on a skim-read leaves little doubt as to what it’s talking about doesn’t consistute as a sign. That’s like writing “beware of sharks” on the actual sharks.
Then don’t skim read, and instead actually read what the OP means before leaving a comment.
… You’re making no sense here.
How hard can it be to miss “SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” in his text?

Um… What happened? O.o
Eir dies in a story instance, just before she kills Faolain.
I got the same feeling too…
It feels like dragonhunter does less damage overall.
It was her time.
It’s great. I love it.
It gives more exploration and makes the zones feel more alive instead of a flat zone. I like that feeling of “I can’t get there quite yet, I need more skills” but that doesn’t surprise me since I love Zelda games.
Twitch streaming is a side thing. They do it for fun, and I love it’s not a stale tuxedo Bob sitting there presenting information. I like they show the different personalities of the company, even if they are energetic or not.
What game companies do these kind of streams these days anyway?
Crap… that reminds me that I need to pick a character to put this discipline on.
sigh
The “to do” list is getting long….
It’s not like your skills in the crafting professions will disappear if you change one out to another one.
It’s Mad Memoires, not Mad Memories.
save yourselves will be ideal spot.
I must disagree.
Shouts and meditations are already heavily represented on guardian, and to make use of more of our utilities we should see spirit weapons have taunt, and consecrations resistance if anything.
Adding more good and new stuff to what we already heavily use will just keep the guardian stuck in the same “good” spot.
Can you tell me about ANY game that doesn’t have a meta?
I’m wondering about guardian.
Black Lion weapons are on par with legendaries these days in terms of looks.
I might get the wrong idea in my head, but I kind of just feel like you’re trying to make them “tryharding” their stream, sitting straight backed, in tux, no emotions on their faces and just list information as if they were pieces of paper themselves.
I for myself, really like how they do their streams. Are they giggling a lot? Yes. Are they being wacky? Yes. Crazy? Definitely, and that’s exactly how it should be.
Filled with emotions and personalities, fun and silly moments and show off the crazy developers they have.
It’s so much personality compared to the office suite men with no-emotion faces so many other game developers have.
If it’s too much for you, wait for your Dulfy report.
While this sounds like a good idea for SW’s, I don’t recall people asking for this for years. Personally, I think the idea wouldn’t make SW’s any more appealing to use.
People have been asking for a change on the spirit weapons since 2013.
Gyros are going to be affected by a systemic change that should increase their survivability quite a lot.
Gyros now start their cooldown upon summon rather than upon gyro death.
Well wishes,

Hi!
Can guardian spirit weapons get the same treatment? Tell Karl.
Thanks!
Why HoT will probably not fix the zerker-meta

Looking at the comp people used for the Vale Guardian, it was close to “1 tank, 1 healer, 8 DPS” which is a very normal comp in raids in other MMO’s.
Guard didn’t really feel useful compared to engi or something. That said I felt more useful on hammer than GS. If my dps is meh anyways I can at least bring some utility like short cd blast and some CC for the break bars and these red orb thingies. Also the protection can be somewhat useful since you kinda have to facetank a bit.
The other professions’ elite specializations are over the top OP and will hopefully see a damage nerf.
It’s well known.
I’d say hammer is good overall for the utilities it brings, being immobilize, launch and warding.
Not too sure about the DPS aspect.
how was DH nerfed? we’ve received nothing but buffs
This.
If people are disappointed in the Fragment of Faith fix, which was bugged, you have to step back and consider how broken it was by almost one-shotting people on activation. Even if it got changed recently with the damage nerf, it’s still a really good trap with the aegis fragments.
Also, dragonhunter got plenty of buffs now with instant traps, boons on activation as well as a pull on our F1 skill. That is huge.
People also need to stop asking for a 25% speed trait or utility, it shouldn’t be needed at all, and we should instead ask for improved ways of approaching or slowing our enemies, not ask for a boring passive speed boost.
A gnomes head upon a tree.
ArenaNet should rather remove, than add, the speed increase utilities and traits from certain professions.
It just became a “power creep” thing which got out of hand because people wanted it.
Remove it and make swiftness a thing again.

Hello Karl, and good job on the changes. I think you nailed the traps this time around and they will see plays.
If you are “looking” for any other changes to do, do consider the core guardian and its weapons. The shield changes are great and I think they are on par with the other off-hands now.
If you can, I’d like if you could look into sword, especially it’s chain attack. The third hit causes projectiles but it’s not working in a good way. The revenant just got its auto-attack chain changed to physical attack instead of letting out projectiles and I’d hope you could do the same with the guardian.
I’d also like if you could take a look into the third skill of the sword, Zealot’s Defense, and take a look around the rooting if it’s needed, or perhaps change something else, like the projectiles coming out hits the target, like actually homing to it.
Thanks.
I wouldn’t even be mad, let alone disappointed if this was the case.
If ArenaNet haven’t thought of anything else, I really wish this was it.
Wings looks quite horrible.
Can’t really see why people want them.
Thanks Simplesimon, that worked.
I’ve tried all that, renaming and moved the folder somewhere else, even deleting the guild wars 2 screens folder, but it won’t recreate itself, and the message about full folder is still there.
Apparently I reached some limit on my screenshots.
I read there was a limit on about 1000 screenshots, but I haven’t even reached that many.
So I went to documents > guild wars 2 > screens where they are all stored, and moved them to another renamed folder.
But it keeps saying the guild wars 2 screenshot folder is full. What do I do?
I really don’t miss Scarlet as a character. Her writing was so, so poor.
No one disliked Scarlet because she was a believeable, evil villain. People disliked her because her writing was so boring, and poor.
The Virtues Minor Grandmaster trait should make the Virtues retain their passive effects even after activation.
This idea makes so much sense. Why have I never seen this specific suggestion before?
It sounds really good, but I guess the “problem” would be the drop of one of the core aspect that guardian has, which is self sacrifice for the greater good.
It’s a lot about the feel of the profession, of what it can do, what it offers, what archetype it’s following etc.
I like that trait idea though…
Don’t walk into them, or just dodge into them.
Poor guardians will never have a passive movement increase…
Many of us are so tired of it we have gone to use either Rune of the Traveler or Rune of Speed.
Tunnel vision much?
You don’t have to farm dynamic events at all. Just do variety of things. Dynamic events are just one of many activities to do.
Nope.

I had no idea that there was a voting about this but I would totally have voted for an abaddon fractal! I loved the Realm of Torment area in Gw1, and being able to fight in that environment again would be awesome.
Wasn’t exactly an “Abaddon fractal” but more of a fractal about the gods fighting each other. That being Dwayna, Lyssa, Balthazar, Grenth and Melandru versus Abaddon. The fight that turned the Crystal Sea into Crustal Desert and so on.
just dueled a dh with cele d/d meta, one (basically instant) trap did 11k dmg. dh blocked ~75% of the time. dh was using longbow and gs, longbow capable of doing 20% of my health with true shot. dueled ~20 times? duels 90:10 in his favor? …. Traps not viable? Long bow not viable? what?
You should sit down and ponder about your PvP skills some.
Making it too obvious, people will see what we are firing.
The question I’m trying to answer is “what can dragonhunter offer that other professions can’t.”
Nothing really stands out. There’s no “Wow, we really could use this in PvE/PvP.”
They might go with the system that you have two icons. First one shows your core profession, and the second one choose what elite specialization you got equipped.
I can imagine this later down the line when they add more elite specializations.
It’s just an icon, honestly.
Worry about the traps and the traits.
(edited by Farzo.8410)
Dragonhunter counters base guardian at least.
Just because of the bow and virtues.
I couldn’t keep up with all the clones, I just couldn’t…
I… I… I have never felt so violated before.
My traps– my–… they do nothing! THEY DO NOTHING!
LOL, unless they are trying Dragonhunter, the only player that uses traps are bad players.
Farzo please don’t use traps, it’s embarrassing
I had to try them because they we’re the ‘new’ utilities. I knew they would be bad, but playing beta, I wanted to truly beta test.
Otherwise I have just used spirit weapon-… nah kidding, I’ve been using meditations.
Longbow is cool though. Just need some more fixing in my opinion.
Now go and play dragonhunter.
I couldn’t keep up with all the clones, I just couldn’t…
I… I… I have never felt so violated before.

You can only take so much pain for so many years.
It’s late here so I’ll just take my space here and write something very little.
Longbow feels okay, but #4 and #5 needs some improvement. They feel clunky with what they do and how long it takes to cast it.
Traits are rather uninteresting and got no synergy whatsoever with anything else that the guardian got, that’s really sad.
With the removal of traps being throwable at range I see no real future for these. Sure “place and wait for your prey to come” sounds cool and all but it’s horrible in practice and extremely clunky. Especially with a specialization that was announced as a back line support, and traps makes us go frontline…
The only thing you really can do to pass them off as symbols… that would give use the synergy we need with other traitlines.
I wish the passive effects for the profession mechanic would be something else, new and exciting as well instead of the old “passive fire, passive healing, passive aegis.”
