Here are a few tidbits from the team:
- A lot of newer players had trouble with the interface. That doesn’t apply to you, you’re veterans who have been around the conversion block a time or two. But newer players will benefit from the updated system.
- The goal was to make the Gem Store more like other shopping experiences, and if you think about it, there is more of that feel to it now.
- You may be surprised to know this (I know I was) but very few people bought gems at smaller denominations than the first one offered in the new system. That’s not to say they never did, nor that there wouldn’t be the desire to do so. But overall, the current options were selected based on player purchases in the past.
- The team is going to listen to your feedback and, if and when it’s practical and desirable, they can look towards adjusting the new system to better meet your needs.
So please keep your thoughts coming on the new system. Feel free to make suggestions but please, keeping them constructive would be very much appreciated.

Just saying I was excited to read an update (About time too) just to have my happy feels alittle hurt…
The way this page reads it made me feel like you dont even want to do holidays and that its “Interfering” with you Living Story…
The way it was worded/written is what got me. (this might just be me, But I was really trying to see the good I promise). But Doing a hype of LS not so good talk about the 2 festivals (That I care about more than LS b.c they are MORE FUN.) and then more LS talk with the way its phased makes me feel they dont care about festivals.
Its Just a F*****g video game, we play for fun, everyone LOVES holidays they are a huge part of our lives, give them the respect they deserve. Show us a Banner/update about them, HYPE them up like your LS, change your Website to make it All spooky like for halloween.

Hey guys, wanted to give my input on this. I personally have played for a year now and since i have started i have mystic forged 7 precursors and i had 1 drop recently out of AC. The chances of a drop are so low that i cant begin to describe how lucky i got. Your opinion would be that it is not the right way to do it (pre drop using RNG system) which is fine, but by definition it is not “unfair” since it’s equal opportunity (please correct my terminology when im using it wrong)
RNG is fair if its true RNG… But (I might be wrong so please help find the right answer) Ive read someone that GW2 RNG still has variables that change during gameplay, if this is true then its not true RNG (I know it can never be true RNG, but giving a changing variable, depending on what that Variable is could be HUGE in “fair” factor).
“Play the way you want” does not equal “and get everything you want”. If you like to play WvW and PvP, there are things you get that PVE players don’t, like Badges. Also, if you like Fractals, you get Ascended item drops, PVE players do not. To make my Legendary Weapons, I had to do things I did not “want” to do, like play PVE for badges, play Dungeons for tokens, do map completion (including all of WvW). But, I did it because I wanted to make my own Legendary.
All I’m saying is that if you want a pre bad enough, with 5000+ hours played, you should easily have made enough gold to buy one and be done with it.
The point of this isnt “You played long enough you can buy one on your own stop QQ’ing” its the fact that the system is flawed and players are being rewarded terribly, if you dont think thats true then there is no point for me to talk to you anymore about this.

yes and i’ve said repeatedly that as a pvper i’d feel cheated if they re-added our only unique past reward but pve-ers dont get their (far more than pvp) exclusive past rewards readded.
it’d be better if they added more sets rather than bringing past content back.
Bring it back as pvp track, thats how I would do it, 1 track = 1 piece like like the new armor for pvp…

The beauty of the pre is that, if you are not lucky enough to have one drop, you can always buy one. With 5000+ hours played, even if you only banked 25-30s an hour, you would have enough to buy any pre in the game right now. The system works fine.
Tell that to WvW and pvp players.
In a game where you should be able to play the style you like (Pve vs WvW vs PvP) that anet says you can do. Its hard to even get 90% the stuff in the game without farming a lot of PvE/dungeons and using the TP smartly.

Ahem. You are Entitled to have fun in this game. However, you aren’t Entitled to getting all the best drops because you want them.
If only the drop rate was as frequent as the threads complaining about it…
The problem isnt drop rates… NOT AT ALL.. THOSE ARE FINE……………..
The problem is players with 5k + game hours with 1000’s of dungeon runs, 1000’s of boss kills, doing pvp and wvw getting high ranks, doing guild events and other things have never gotten a precursor.
Where some ppl with 1-2k hours have gotten 2-3…
Its effort vs luck, there is no reward for effort BESIDES spending every cent of gold you have over months to get one.. the only thing legendary about it is your patients to horde.
This game rewards luck not skill.
I do TA aether almost everyday, Ive done it over 100x now easily, I helped a new player through it getting HIS AP for him (Ive NEVER got a weapon to drop) and he gets a Of dreams weapon…. that player was rewarded for being carried through not skill, hardwork, or even trying…

All mine are Cosplay, once I have an idea for a character the modeling is fast, but picking/finding the outfits and what cosplay characters are good or not doable can take 40-50hrs.

Just throwing this out there…..what classes are people playing that they have the best luck in ingame precursor drops? I’m kinda wondering if higher DPS classes are getting more loot drops. I play my thief mostly, while I can tag mobs solo for a drop easy enough, others playing say Warrior get better drops and more of it. I wonder if over all damage done has anything to do with with the dice roll.
I play full zerk thief/war mostly. The best loot drops Ive seen come from 2 friends… both had Sentinels gear on.
In events in parties for champ tags, again in full zerk another friend in soldiers auto attacking with staff got more/better loot than me (I get white/green champ bags, they get rare/exotic).
Ive seen it happen that ways 100’s of times. I honestly feel more damage players are getting shafted at times.
A precursor should be crafting in the same way the legendary it self is crafted, by getting components and MF’ing them. By doing things around the world it will encourage more players doing what is good/right and not Farming champs all day everyday.
I understand we are not getting any pre craft/hunt soon, and anet might already have a plan, but sense they dont like to share with us, I hope these will give some ideas.
Minor World Bosses
Each world boss, like Maw, Shaman, Fire Ele etc.. should have a chance to drop a component. Each boss in each region will drop a regional item.
Example: All bosses in Ascolan will drop “Ascolanian Essence” Shiverpeaks will drop its own and etc…
These items will need 3 other components from those regions:
Example: Ascolan – 100 chili peppers, Offering of Ascalon, the Essence dropped from bosses and 100 Pile of Shimmering Dust.
You will have 4 Regions item Components, once all 4 all are gain, MF all 4 of these for 1 final item. This 1 item will be 1/4 of the Precursor.
Epic Bosses
Karka Queen, Jormag, Teq and Triple Wurm will do the Same, they will each drop another MF able pieces. And will work similar to the Regions gifts.
This will make the 2nd part to Precursor.
Weapons Crafting
Should have a new recipe for each precursor, we will be making a look alike version for each precursor. Lets take “The Lover” The recipe should call for something just for it. 250 Feathers, 50 ecto, 250 of each bow component.
This isnt hard to get, but will take time and much more costly than the normal crafted item. Having something you have to get extra that is account bound item is the part players will have some difficulty with.
For Dawn you could have to have 250 Sun beads is another example.
This Recipe will determine what pre you will be crafting.
These items should cost around 300-400g max, IMO that is agood gold sink and will make all pres around 500-600g max, still will keep value of pres but will also make them manageable for players.
The final component should just be skill point based, an Eldritch scroll should do just fine.
So You have the 4 total components now. You MF these to gain a precursor.
In closing, it gives each Region something special that you need to get within its self, slight time gated materials with the need for all bosses and not just the easy ones, also giving items not being used a more useful means in the right way and finally makes a steady price for over flipped pres and still manageable and obtainable without the need for a credit card for months and months of champ grinding.
According to Colin Johanson, Guild Wars 2 Game Director, Super Adventure Box will be back in the future. We don’t have a timeframe for the return of the SAB, but we will be bringing back this popular content.
I know you would like more details, more info, a date, etc., but that’s not available right now. I hope the above comment reassures you, though, because at the core, the important answer is that yes, SAB will be back in the future.
Why cant you just open it up perm? Or let moto keep his merchant up at all times? How hard is it, or would it break you economy ……. even tho many feel it already is broken with 1k gold + pres… (you know its only a legendary, should take game play, not wallet to get).

No respect for turret engis , I trash talk them even if they are on my team and I dont think its “fun” unless you’re bad and can’t playing anything else.

I notice I was taking damage on evades/dodges, and wonder why, so I turn only these 2 options on.
Incoming Damage
Incoming Mitigated Damage
While they were on, I saw that I dodge many times just fine, but, but there where times were I dodge/evade (The combat log said I evaded) and still took damage (the combat log also said I took the damage)
So my combat log would look something like this. (using Lupi as an example)
“You evade Giant Lupis Mighty Kick”
“Giant Lupis hits you for 10k using Mighty kick”
So on screen it said evade, and in log it said evade, but I also took the damage.
Also, there are times I would evade and it didnt say evade. It said “Absorb”.
“You absorb Giant Lupi Might kick”
Sometimes I would take the damage and other times I wouldnt.
My 2 questions now are:
What is Absorb meaning when you “dodge” an attack?
Why do I take damage from an Evaded attack?

Went from 18k hp to downed and Dead in tpvp from retal.

Tell me about it! I’m an upgrader/defender and I have less than 1/4 the ‘profits’ of my ktraining/zerging friends. Yep, less than 1/4 of the exp/wxp/ranks/badges/gold/etc – us defenders/upgraders get the short end of the stick, ALWAYS… I’m up for ANYTHING that balances out the offending and defending. Maybe then more people would help defend too! Not to mention, of course I’d like to see the same kind of profits that offending/ktraining/zerging would get me – had I only actually liked that style of play, for all the defending that I do… (at this rate I wont see diamond legend until about 40 years from now!)

Defending/siege up is a hard and lonely job for a lot of players. No fun for others, and no “rewards”.
Towers:
- Have dedicated siege spots for placement (5, when upgraded can hold 5m)
- When a Player places or add supply they get credit Bronze, silver, gold rewards when all siege is fully completed (Bronze if helped once, silver for 2 helps and gold will be 3+)
- Make it like Eotm and the rewards is and event (300karm 2s etc…) + chest on the ground.
- If tower is up graded you can add 5 more siege and get credit for event again.
This will at least encourage players to help build and protect the tower until it is fully completed.
If you have a better suggestion or see something wrong then please Critique it and not criticize it.

This game is indeed meant for 10-year-olds.
No.. just no, I hosted many over night video game parties (at least 70 different ones) on slow nights 30ish kids, had as high as 80 kids.
6-12years was the normally, with a few 12+
ALL of them PLAYED MUCH BETTER THAN ME, and all the video games where my own (NES, SNES, Sega, Game Cube, PS1, PS2, Xbox).
So no anet isnt making this for 10yr olds, making this for r*t**ds

Here’s an idea. Why don’t you just turn auto attack on? Then you only have to press it once and then just sit back and watch as your character swing his sword. And then swing his sword. And then swing his sword. And swing his sword again until the mob is dead.
Sometimes I think you pick the strangest things to complain about.
You just made me cry, oh how I wish that game was like what they said.
When I saw the requirements for a backpack, I took a deep breath and thought, maybe I may not do this one. But once I had made the first one and then the second, I decided, what the heck, this could be something interesting to at least try. It took some planning regarding the materials and some I had to refine which is also something I had never done before.
I had not tried fractals or dungeons up to this point and had no plans on even trying until Mawdrey. I read up on the fractals in the wiki and on other sites and tried to be careful about picking groups for fractals and looked for ones that said everyone welcome or for noobs etc. and I found good groups and some really great people. Once we did get the bugged Cliffside but everyone was a good sport on that run.
Ninetynine percent of this is simply putting the effort and thought into completing the tasks to get to the end goal. I did learned some things from the folk I did them with and that makes it a plus as well. I actually had a good time doing fractals, though I doubt it would be something that would be a regular event for me, who knows I could change my mind on that one, lol…
All in all I liked that there was a lot of variety and we had to do a thing or two outside the box to get this piece. I never expected easy. What I hated the most was the Foxfire gathering for me which was a pain. The upside to that, though, was going through areas collecting higher level mats which I will use for other things now. Also I am helping hubby where I can because not all his crafting levels are high enough to make the plant food or the pot.
It doesn’t look like Mawdrey is going away anytime soon so anyone should be able to craft this if they desire and take their time doing it. No one is making us do this nor did I feel it was unreasonable in any aspect. It was a bit frightening to start fractals especially when you hear the horror stories about some groups. But once I started I realized if you are right up front that you may be new or not done this one before etc. and if the group wants someone experienced, don’t take it personal, just say your byes and look for another group.
I wish this is the mentality that the players had. It is about trying new things. Five fractal runs is not a lot and there are lots of people who will help someone new if you are willing to put in the effort. Or Forrest Gumping through fractals with all newbies can be an experience. The back piece is optional. I decided not to bother with it as I am happy with the back pieces that I do have. There are things I don’t enjoy doing in game which I suffer through for the rewards or not persue it without an expectation of the reward being given to me.
The point for me was, WHAT THE F does fotm have to do with a plant/LS/dry top skin?
Instead of giving us MORE reason to visit dry top, anet instead said, “Go do 5 fotms for this piece” when it could have been a Group event reward drop WITHIN dry top.
Thats the problem for me, they are trying to force you to parts of the game you dont like for a reward you do like.
There are good reasons why ppl dont like fotm, and forcing them to do 5 levels instead of encouraging them isnt right.
Im just saying, they need to add More to dry top to encourage/keep players there for longer, or give guilds reasons to raid them, the back piece could have been that, but instead they chose to make use under whelming items for sinks.
Its un playable
Looking at it, endgame content is what you make of it after you did the story missions. My endgame is making my legendary. I wouldn’t consider it my complaint per se (I can’t say the same for others) as it’s more of a minor gripe for me. As for no new areas, we at least got Dry Top, right?
Feature patches like this are basically a bundle of fixes to what is existing in this game. I don’t know if there was a Feature Patch that literally added anything new, but from what I will get, I’m not too worried. Besides, I got the season 2 story chapters to look forward to once this is cleared out.
Made 4 legendaries, got all cult gear, 1500+ skins, 17k AP, r68 pvp, r400+ WvW, complete everyday more than 100x (CM and CoF over 600x) have 4 character story/map completed, deleted over 10 level 80’s. Done 50 fotm at least 100×.
And I feel and always felt there was enough endgame.
About those feature patches, NO ONE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT LEVELING, everyone want bug fixes and more content…. not pointless non-rewarded rewards.

You forgot the Canach Dungeon (yes, they advertised it as a dungeon LOL!)
Thats counted in temp LS. If you added all the temp content together (This is my numbers) I’d guessing I had about 50 hours at MAX.
Where I know for sure factions gave me at least 1,500 hours easily in 6months.
I only played Gw1 proph for a couple months causal before factions came out, then I got my ritualist that became my main and I had 4k hours on it. NF was Amazing, but I think Factions and eotn were my fave.

Yes please, would love them, Anet, THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE GAME, just give them a track. Complete it 6x to get full set.

As I mentioned in my thread on the topic, it would be great to have the number of needed kick votes increased to 3, to minimize griefing resulting from this change. Personally I always started my own dungeon parties to avoid kick-happy couples. Now there’s nothing to kep me safe. 2 votes have always been a bad idea, anyway. Not even a majority.
I actually agree with you. I would have liked to increase the vote count a majority with this change, but unfortunately not all the pieces of code around party votes are set up in a way to make this a quick and easy change.
We were aware of this issue, but felt that holding back an improvement to the base experience on account of trolls was unfair to users that are playing nice.
Stealing instances using the LFG tool, or booting people for no reason (or to give your buddy the rewards for no work) at the end of a run are bannable offenses and should be reported.
How can we report when our chat goes away when we are kicked…. or it doesnt say who kicked us.
I still don’t understand why Anet is not making dungeon owner impossible to be kicked. I don’t understand their concern about this as I can’t think of any negative effect of this feature. >_<
If the owner dc’s, goes afk for 20min or started to troll and kicks others, or harassing ppl “haha im the owner you cant kick you me BEEP’n BEEPING BEEPS” then they need to be kicked.
This way we will at least be able to prevent trolling to a point.
That’s hardly happens and it can be easily prevented by making your own instance. However, if griefers joins and kick the owner out of the dungeon without getting any kind of penalties, then it will be sad. Also, this issue can’t be averted or else everyone needs to rely on only their guildies and friends to form dungeon run party.
Alot can be prevented with friends and guild, but isnt always the case. I see all the time my friends/guildies being kicked from pugs, It happens even if it only happens 1/100x, I know I do 15-20 paths a day, and if those other 4 parties members are doing the same, thats easy 1-2 kicks a day when you look at it that way.

Have a 10sec Timer pop up when 2 ppl ask for kick, the 3rd can Veto the kick, this will prevent troll kicking IMO.
+1, also we need to worry about instance stealers now. Being the owner was a “safe guard” from being kicked, thats gone now, WE NEED to know who kicked us.
We also should have a reason to kick pop up.(A pop up asking why your kicking JUST like the Report feature does)
Can we please get a report feature for bad sportsman in tpvp, I mean I have players AFking and talking crap b.c “its funny”. So many times I blocked and WAITED for que to make sure im not playing with them.
GW1 had this feature where if enough players reported they got a temp Dishonored.
Please bring this back.

why does everyone so desperately want to turn everything prestigious into commonplace worthless items?
precursor crafting, retired skins being purchasable, it all reduces any form of prestige.
as one of the people who worked tirelessly to farm enough gold to buy one of the few Greatsaw skins (1800g when i bought it afew months back) i would find it absolutely disgusting if they let people buy them with tickets.
if you really want one of these skins, then you’d work up the 3000g to buy it.
i know i would if i hadn’t already!
removing all of their value is not the answer just because people want things without having to work for them.
Why do you want to be the only one to have an amazing skin? Thats like saying “Rich ppl are the only ones that should have nice things”.
I would love to see more ppl with these skins, b.c THEY ARE THAT GOOD, they are to good to only let a very few population to run with them.
