They are robbing rare drop slots from chests and serve no purpose other than that…

Thanks for the reply. I did create a ticket but later I just decided to make lemonade out of the lemons and came up with a name I liked even more. The issue was the principle of being forced to change a name that wasn’t offensive, not even on the margin, or against the rules/agreement. There comes a point when policing things like names goes over the line, and in my case it was crossed. If someone at anet cares to contact me regarding the matter I would be pleased to discuss, but I won’t waste any more of my time over their evidently lack of any reason for the action.

Upon trying to log in today I am prompted to change the character’s name before I can proceed.
This name violates nothing, it isn’t offensive. It also happens to be the name of my Ritualist who has been in GW1 since the class first appeared.
There is no basis for a name change and I would like to have an avenue to address this.

Hammer, sword, bows…just no.
I like the tech edge to Engineer. I would prefer to see new skills that can be swapped out with existing weapon skills. I would like to see more control options for Rifle, like the Warrior’s knockback. I would like to see an animation similar to the thieves Unload, perhaps with less damage but something like Cripple. I can see more net options, more bola options, etc.
Lets keep the Engi on the Tech side. More steampunk clockwork please.

For the late comers, GW1 had 4v4 random. There were no objectives other than defeat the other team while you try and survive. I found it to be the best aspect to GW1, it was more fun and at the same time could be more stressful than any other environment.
There is no real reason to have done away with this arena type format other than the current team at Anet didn’t like it. Much of GW1 was killed off by the “we don’t like it” dev team currently employed.

Let’s just admit the facts.
Play the game your way, enjoy DR.
Play the game Anet’s way, enjoy Fractals.
Seriously just admit you want everyone in your sandbox and we can just all play bobble-head.

You can set camera to Free. This is not a solution but trust me, it helps quite a bit. Learned this in first week with max sized Norn, fixed camera would get stuck with close in view and you were fubared.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
This was supposed to have been changed but in HotW it still occurs. Losing end chest items when leader leaves since it kicks the group.
Seriously, its only been out over 5 months now. Maybe consider fixing this?
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
They have been bait and switch since release. Why are you shocked now? Everything has been a bait and switch. Seriously, you either accept it and move on, or find another game company that has core values they can stick with.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Currently 3 light, 3 medium, 2 Heavy. Could use a new heavy, I know I wouldn’t mind having one. Personally I would like to see the Fighter based Monk but I think balance of armor types is more useful.
I suggest a Master at Arms. 2h specialist. 2h Axe, Pole Arms (Lucern Hammer, Bardiche, etc.).
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
At 80 they just put in PVT Trinks on Karma Vendors. However, there are NO exotic upgrades for PVT trinks…fixed half that problem….
Plenty of PVT armor though, at least 3 dungeons have it. AC, SE, HotW. WvW also has, Soldiers.

GW2 is based on character mediocrity. Nothing in this game is truely “awesome” when it comes to skills. Their power and potentcy is only relevant to themselves. Most skills in this game are incredibly underwhelming, the buffs and traits and everything else you have to do to get them to be marginally effective is such a labor of………labor.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Let’s not fully consume the koolaid. If you think DR was not also intended from preventing legit players from farming money faster than Anet wanted them to, via legitimate means, Mr Jones has a cup for you.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
CoF armor is for the WoW Clown Suit lovers, nothing more.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I agree with Himei, why it was even implemented is a mystery. It may be so they can justify terminology like “Orr Risen mobs now drop better loot” while allowing “though the chests they spawn have sucky rates of rare items”.

Beings will always flock to what is familiar and comfortable. It is nothing more, nothing further than this simplicity. The willingness and ability to associate.
The more alien something appears or acts, the further away it will be viewed from.

This is somewhat frustrating. GW was focused on PvP which most people loved. However, GW2 keeps adding in PvE content when people want PvP content.
This is not the same company or the same development team that created GW1. It is simply the title branding and lore theft wrapped in a new package with an entirely new game created by a new team in a new company. At some point you either accept this or walk away.
Unfortunately for me I keep poking my fork at the cold meal on my plate.

This is a neat idea, hadn’t thought of it. Not only do I hope they do not lock this post, it would not be a bad idea to sticky it or include it in some stickied post about reporting bots.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Okay I am not sure of how aware Anet is on this so I am gonna post for them to read, any comments are of course your own and I won’t revisit this post.
Prices are once again falling in the market due to bots. This time it is node materials. Now the problem is (and this has been going on for some time now) bots that teleport from node to node to node. They teleport so fast in and out I can not report them using the existing report tool.
Just posting in hopes something is done about this before it becomes the next public fiasco.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I like DR
So me as a casual player have less disadvantages.
DR has no advantage to you as a casual, in fact it still impairs you.
Less items being farmed will keep prices up on TP, not lower. How does that advantage a casual player that needs to buy items off TP?

Welcome to GW2. If you don’t “enjoy” fractals you aren’t playing the way Anet wants you to. Everything outside of Fractals has been nerfed then nerfed some more. This is where Anet expects you to play. Play the game their way or find another game.
They can not deny this is their approach. Why would they do this? Well since they can simply develop tools that any monkey can use to extend a closed environment like Fractals, they can have interns pump out more grindy content. This is cheap and more cost effective than being creative and using developers to develop actual content that isn’t “canned”. No need to further develop explorable areas or dynamic events.
Welcome to the End Game. Fractals for fun!

I discovered the issue I was having was a client sized temporary bug. Reloading the client resolved the issue.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Several times a day, vs 1-2 times a week at most prior to wintersday patch.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Getting poisoned, etc, and no debuff icon for conditions on my character. This has been happening since latest patch.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Not listing fixed exploits is fine by me, but I do agree that listing bugs should be done, where they definitively were affecting noticeable player game play/experiences. If the bugs involved some mechanic players would not even notice, no harm. However why even put this on the changes list to begin with if the players wouldn’t notice a change?
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Simple supply and demand. Think prices are unfair or to high? Don’t buy. If you are correct, eventually prices come down (usually temporarily in these types of games to give the “feel” the original price is still legit). If enough people pay out what the commodity is listed at, the price will not come down.
Vote with your wallet.

No one uses minis so I don’t see what the fuss is even about over them.
My only “gambling” complaint is the perma-bank access. However this will remain in the game and isn’t really a Wintersday BLTC issue. It’s just an overall “Gambling” issue. Gambling fine, but being able to manipulate chances at any time without relaying that info to the consumer is, indeed, scummy.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
I bought a couple when I first started the game. The annoyance of them always being unquipped when changing maps or way points, the annoyance whenever I used the option to send collections to bank would send them to the bank, etc., eventually prompted me to leave the 3 I had in the bank. After some time I just sold them off.
I haven’t seen anyone with a mini-pet out in months. Absolutely bad design, and anet knows better, or should. It isn’t like they had 6 years with GW1 mini-pets to learn with.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
There are auto-down mechanics in this game. They are in the game so you can experience the wonders of the downed state and the awesome skills anet put in the game for you to enjoy. Think I am joking? I am not.
I have taken on level 16 group event bosses with a level 78 and been 1-hit downed. I wasn’t trying to be boss, it’s part of the encounter’s built in mechanic. There are other encounters with this mechanic.
This all goes back to a philosphy at arenanet that begin at least as far back as Nightfall. Death was something you could expect in Nightfall. Not potentially face, it was coming and it was coming often. It was part of the game experience, in their own words.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Need a key bind option for Stow, period. Who the heck wants to have to mouse click the tiny icon on the LEFT side of the interface while moving?
Seriously should have been in game at release. This is beyond just quality of life, it is a necessary function to Stow via keybind.

The new hammer skin is an Asura. There is rumor of a fiery version.

Please, Please, Please can we have the option to globally disable receiving mail from players? Right now the mail system isn’t working and some player in my guild sent me money I explicitly asked them not to send and now, I can not return it. Extremely annoying.
I am forced to accept mail.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
They simply will not provide this info. Those of us who play this game know how nearly dead it has become. The last two days it has been FRIGHTNENINGLY dead.
I am not talking about the small groups spamming for Fractals in LA, I am talking about EVERY OTHER MAP. Dead. On one of the Always FULL servers.
Did you know NCSoft did a shuffling recently? 15% of the workforce gone? Not good times, to bad Anet doesn’t listen to the people who bought this game on their original manifesto. Those that left due to no “End Game Content” aren’t coming back, and those who feel sold out over the gear grind introduced 3 months after launch – a 180 from the stated manifesto – are now leaving or gone.
You think this “e-sport” PvP is gonna save it? I sure don’t.
Sad state of the game.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
This is becoming very annoying. Waypoints are remaining contested long after they are no longer contested, when viewed via the map (the only method to actually use them to travel).
I just spent 10 minutes logging on and off a character, switching to another character, exiting the game repeatedly, when I know the waypoints I want to travel to are NOT contested but continue to display contested and bar me from using them.
How I verified:
Switched from one character to another. 2nd character displayed one of the two way points as not contested while the 1st displayed both as contested. Logged back on to the 1st character, still displaying both as contested. Finally broke down and traveled to nearest way point to the 2 I was getting incorrectly displayed, both the contested way points were not contested.
Can we NOT fix this yet? Game has been like this for months and is very annoying.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
In order to boost numbers for Fractals participation would you not conclude they would nerf open world, like Plinx? Can’t have you farming outside of Fractals, that would hurt their AWESOME GEAR GRIND INSTANCE statistics. Skewing statistics, spinning gear grind to “progression”, etc. It’s all very old hat.
To bad they decided to not create interesting and challenging content and instead force you into Fractals.

So I leveled 10 times off of Jewelcrafting on my Mesmer, bumping him up to level 25. I looked for rares that were going cheap on AH for armor upgrades and there were none. So I searched for Masterwork upgrades… and I found -this- set!
Shadow of Hoelbrak gear. It looks amazing, I got called a kitten for wearing it, and I was SO surprised that something so cool was low level! So, I’m creating the unsung skins thread. We’ve seen Grenth’s, we’ve seen CoF, and we’ve all fawned over that adorable Asura in that tech gear. But I’ve never seen this armor before and it is absolutely amazing.
So go ahead! Post pictures or at least the names of armor skins below level 80 that you’ve found sort of tucked away.
You do realize thats the same look as the cloth karma sets for that level range right? Nice finding it on AH, it is one of my favorites (without the helmet). Kept it on my Female Necro for as long as I could.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Well since any 80 not in WvW or PvP just sits in LA begging for a dungeon group, I am a bit shocked servers haven’t been brought down and we just use Overflow (GW1 districts anyone?). Outside of WvW, this whole server system is rather out of place. Then again much in GW2 is out of place, GW1 had a lot of things right during the first 2 years, no idea why so much was just abandoned.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
In the past official statics have been posted concerning professions played, races played, etc. Can we get statistic on the number of active players during prime time pacific – before the recent patch and after?
I know I would like to see the shift.

For those interested in the MMORPG blog. Do you feel as this blog suggests?
Does anyone believe that Anet threw together this entire gear tread mill and content package of 600mb in one month in response to some hidden “feedback”? Or do you believe this was all ready decided upon long before launch and being worked on during these past 3 months+?
Seriously. Never before have I felt so lied to on a product I actually bought based on the deceitful information given by the seller. Never before have I had no recourse on a product or item I bought based on flat out lies.

(edited by GOSU.9574)
Did anyone miss this on the WvW portion?
“new reward progression”
That’s right, new reward PROGRESSION in WvW. More tread mill please.
Also changing up PvP, I bet with MORE Progression. Can’t get enough tread mill in this non-tediouis, no tread mill game.
Will they ever face the fact no matter how much they try, how much pressure is put on them to do so, they will NEVER take WoW gear tread mill enthuasiasts away from WoW?
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
But, anything that’s required should be possible without endless dying.
Someone never played Nightfall back in the day (GW1 expansion). Up until I left GW1 (first 2 years of the game before I got tired of it) stepping out of town into a Nightfall open world area (instanced) was a sure trip to the res shrine several times. Completely 100% chance of dying 4-6 times before you could get through the dense, heavy aggro, high damage packs. I mean THICK, DENSE, HUGE packs of roaming mobs constantly crossing paths and blocking you from any means to avoid them.
This was part of the “You will die, it’s part of the game” philosophy Anet adopted. Can be seen in GW2 with the “You will experience the downed state excessively, we spent to much time designing those skills, you will enjoy them” philosophy.

Thanks. I left my feedback there, Anet changed their minds on gear tread mill, I changed mine on Guild Wars 2. 2 out of 5.

I actually like Cursed Shore, but you should be 80 when you get there. The previous two maps are just crap when it comes to doing anything pre-80. They need to be reconsidered and content perhaps changed quite a bit, a difficulty curve added so the further along you go while getting to Cursed Shore the more like Cursed Shore they become.

No Guild Wars in my Guild Wars. Nuff said.
I think the original team behind GW1 were gone long ago. I also feel those who believed in the manifesto of GW2 that the game should not be tedious and grindy are either gone or forced silent in order to keep their jobs. I believe the current state of the game is driven from the top down. I seriously doubt if they have internal feedback from subordinates to the top, at least that is even heard.
Sad really, it’s just another franchise name used to sell units.

You don’t have to leave a farewell in order to leave an evaluation. Farewell posts are generally self-serving attempts at attention grabbing.
While I won’t be playing this game much longer (1-2weeks tops) I won’t be posting a farewell. I will simply let my thoughts be known along the way with my feedback.

I am still waiting to hear the OFFICIAL response as to why this game was sold as not having a gear grind, then 3 months later adding a gear grind. They can make official posts about this and that but when it comes time to man up to being lied to, they don’t have the cajones.
